Swayman is honestly having one of the best playoff performances ive seen from a goalie in a long long time. Guy is on one right now
Cam Ward 2006 playoff run was elite. He won ROY, Con Smythe, and the Stanley Cup the same year. Patrick Roy did it in 1986 with the Habs too.

I think Carlo having a kid being born today had a big impact on the Bruins tonight. They were all in a good mood because of it. Good emotional boost.

I was thinking that too. The difference is in the technique. Swayman is very skilled has great technique - Thomas was more of a fly by the seat of his pants (literally) goalie but the result is the same. In the 2011 final, the Bruins had confidence in their goaltender while the western conference team did not.
The first time everyone finally showed confidence and just had fun!

Swayman Got Some Great Saves
They tried to gaslight me. Scorekeepers didn't count Pastas first 2 shots and I knew I was bugging when it said 0 shots for 5 mins.

Florida defensemen better get a grip. What an abysmal defensive play tonight. Not only did they do nothing to help their goalie, they gave the Bruins some easy shots
They baited the dmen hard, it was a risky plan and the amount of zone time florida got early really had me biting my nails, but when you have that much confidence in your goalie you can afford to cheat in the corners and they caught florida flat footed on so many occasions

Dare I say it, the Bruins will avenge last year's humiliation in 6 games.
i wouldn't get too excited yet. the panthers still had a lot of shots with no luck on rebounds or deflections tonight. that can change. also, the panthers looked flatter than i have ever seen them. the Bs played well for much of the game, but 5--1 was not a score reflective of the actual play. the panthers will play much more aggressively i expect. they can play a lot better defensively than tonight, when they were sloppy and careless at times. strange game outta them.

We are so lucky to have went from Thomas to Rask to Ullmark and now Swayman. Having a top-tier goaltender at all times has really spoiled us.
I can see sticking with Swayman since he's so zoned in.....but I wonder how well Ullmark would preform if needed, now that the switching rhythm has been broken and he's spent all his time watching.

To think that the leafs had a opportunity to have swayman & did not is mind-boggling.
He was picked 111th overall. Every team in the NHL had like 3 chances to draft him. You can't know in a draft how a player will develop. If Ulmark was having a season like last year, Swayman probably doesn't get as many starting chances. He narrowly beat out Halak for the backup for Rask. If Rask doesn't retire, Boston probably deals Swayman to another team since Ulmark was looking like the legit backup.
Swayman said he shut the draft broadcast off because he thought the Leafs were going to draft him there. Then his phone blew up cause Boston grabbed him next pick
