    I think people are looking to deep in this redzone discussion and overlooking a key point. That point is simply......RAVENS. we played the RAVENS. Before this RUSS has been pretty good in the redzone along with GP. You also have to account the dropped passes in the endzone as well. Russ has scored in the Steelers has scored in the redzone in every game RUSS has started except this game against the RAVENS. And with this Justin Fields.....let's not forget that he did not score a TD in week one. That was a Boswell win. So, let's sit back enjoy the ride. Nothing was exposed here.

      Russ was due to have no-TD game. He was riding the longest TD streak in the league at 23 games with at least 1 TD, which means the last time he played a game and did not throw a TD was in late 2022, when Hackett was his coach in Denver, and Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, and LJ have had games with 0 TDs over that span. I don’t see anyone calling for their backups to get tune because they might have had be no-TD game.

      We don't have redzone issues. These guys try to invent issues that aren't there. Our red zone offense is very good, but it doesn't score every single time. Nobody's does. When you look at the red zone, there's two questions: Do we have good playcalling, and do we have good redzone talent. Washington, Muth, GP, Naj and Warren make good red zone talent. Do we have good playcalling? Even on the unsuccessful redzone attempts (Van not stopping; GP not getting two feet in, etc.) are no failures to playcalling. The playcalling has not been even a little bit suspect. Yes, Fields' running gives us another dimension and I've loved the spots where they've inserted him. He can be inserted in the red zone just as we could have three TE's in the red zone. We have no cause for alarm when it comes to offense inside the 20.

    • @jtfike
      @jtfike 4 дня назад +3

      This isn’t week one anymore. It happening in week one was reasonable as new coordinator and new o line. That isn’t the case now. Kenny Pickett had more yards, more tds and less INTs last year. He outplayed Russ against the same team. THAT is why you should be concerned.

    • @tfcollect2690
      @tfcollect2690 4 дня назад +1

      @jtfike Kenny did what? Lmao off. In four games? No, he didn't. You were lucky if Kenny got 1 td in a game. He was absolute garbage. He was 29th in passing yards, bro. Stop it. Like I said, this is the RAVEN/STEELERS. Even Big Ben struggled in these matchups. And when the Steelers played Baltimore with Kenny under center, he had 1td and Lamar did not play. He was injured. Stop it.

    Justin is just soooo quick and fast. I never get tired of watching defensive pursues taking angles on him that he simply walks away from. Red zone is simply a no brainer, but Justing does struggle with the touch passing. Bullets across the middle, no problem, except that he seems terrified of throwing an int., but his arm is pretty amazing. If he can learn the nuances of direction motions to get a hint of coverages, and learn the touch of Russ's deep ball, he'd be nothing but money. If Tomlin can work out how to get them both fully involved, AND get Williams properly paired w/ George, look out! I mean, play action w/ those two out there w/Pat and Darnell, and any of our backs out there is enough to scramble any defense. But then switchboard Justin and his crazy ass speed and it's like a hitter trying to catch up on a 105 mph fastball after seeing Jamie Moyer's change ups all night.

      Watch Fields' tape from Ohio State. He's been throwing with both arc and touch since college. The narrative that he can't throw the ball in that manner is false.
      I wonder why he wasn't doing that when he played in the first six games. 🤔

    • @perniciousprogressive8333
      @perniciousprogressive8333 3 дня назад +1

      @cr2lives not buying any narratives, just my spotty recollection of his first Steeler games. Aside from stone hands drops, it just seemed like his misses were more touch and speed issues, especially at close distance (screens & flats), but yeah his deep balls were usually dimes, but Russ puts so much air under his that even I could track 'em. Maybe Justin just needs more time to get comfortable with his receivers' breaks, 'cuz he was also behind Russ in throwing with anticipation. I get that he probably had Tomllin in one ear and Art in the other chanting "don't eff up", but he did leave a lot on the table waiting for receivers to come completely open, and that only lasts a millisecond in today's NFL. Not everything translates from college.
      I still love him, I just wish we could see more of him while he's getting comfortable.
      Then again, and I'm certainly not wishing any ill on Russ, but the odds of Russ making every start are not very high, statistically, so ain't it grand that we have the greatest #2 QB in the league? 😊

      Russ moved the chains and put the team into position to score. Look, he was riding a 23-game TD streak, the longest in the league by far. He was bound to have a 0 TD game. Do you know what that also means?
      The last time Russ failed to throw a TD was in 2022 in Denver, with the now twice-fired Nathaniel Hackett coaching him.
      Secondly, it means every other elite QB You n the league has had at least one 0TD game since Russ had his.
      It means nothing. Mahomes has a 1.5-to-1 TD-INT ratio.

      You've been spouting nonsense and hating Russ and Tomlin since Day 1 of this. You've become more of a Fields fan than a Steelers fan. Ego has gotten the best of Perry Ellis. Back into hiding until we lose, Perry.

      @paladin1726 I'm a Steelers fan, first, and a football fan second, I call it like I see it, and if you've been following my comments, you will see I also said that coach Tomlin is the coach of the year this season, so when you come for me, get your facts straight, don't tell some of, tell the whole story.

      @@DeCurtaRican I'm just glad you kept the comments short😅, but this was a game where Russ needed to make plays with his legs and he didn't. His age is showing up, that's my concern for Russ

      Also I suppose neither one of you listen to Allen Sanders breakdown of the QBs in the red zone Russ vs Justin, because those numbers show that Justin is a better red zone QB than Russ is right now because Justin can run the ball and Russ can't do it anymore.
