I’m not really fan of diesel, but i will do everything i can to save them, God save all types of internal combustion engines !

I don't need an ATV, that's why I don't have one (obviously). But if I needed one, the Arctic Cat Diesel would be the only one I would get. I'm absolutely in LOVE with the sound of that twin diesel engine. That idle sounds like the definition of a diesel engine!

You should turbo the 700 Diesel, I’ve seen it done and it’s wicked

I turbocharged and intercooled my Cat Diesel, maxed out fuel injectors and advanced injection timing 15 degrees and gutted the muffler. Turbo made the Cat quieter. Have put around 3,000 miles on her since turbocharging. Fast up to about 35 mph but top speed still about 50 mph. Incredible torque! 42 mph cruising at 35 mph. My Arctic Cat 700 TRV only gets 25 mpg at 35 mph.

Remove the drive clutch spacer between the sheaves and it will go 50 mph. the spacer limits drive clutch travel for overseas industrial usage.

More serious than gas ATV's and more fun than a subcompact tractor; speaking of tractors the arctic cat sounds like one.

Love videos keep them coming. I'm not far from you up in Pittsburg, I refurbished my Polaris diesel, and was always wondering about turboing LOL. I knew about the Arctic cat 700 Diesel but never had a chance to drive one. The comparison between the two machines is awesome. Like old versus new diesel why not set them up side by side for a race. Some guy out the desert in Cali turbocharged the artic cat and I want to say his Speedos said 47 in the sand dunes which was crazy impressive. What sucks about the Polaris, which you already know, is the parts are extremely hard to find. I had to have a piston made for mine because mine was bored out, and I could not find any replacement 10000 over Pistons. Cool videos man keep them coming

      @Benjamin Zuchowski I appreciate that!
I guess your not far from me at all, we ride wheelers and sleds in Pittsburg quite a bit.
Yes that’s the one huge downfall to the Polaris Diesel, is the parts availability… I have 3 of these Polaris Diesel’s and the other 2 need engine work, I ended up buying some custom oversized pistons as well.
I did see that video of the Turbo Cat and I’d like to try that on mine one day when the funds allow me to.

The injection pumps are crazy hard to find, however single-cylinder diesels made-in-china have the three roller cam push-up injection pumps. I haven't taken any measurements on it, but if the stroke required was available in a tech manual to get it within tolerance, im sure it could be made to work. I have on my machine since new, but lost the injector pump in 2012. It took ten years for me to find a functional injection pump for sale and I just got mine back on the trails. Road 1,000 miles last year man maybe I'll see you out there sometime! Berlin, Errol, North country Pittsburgh. I really do love all the videos you're posting and can't wait to see what you do with the artic cat man should be cool

@@benjaminzuchowski463 Yeah someone that saw one of my videos is looking for an injection pump right now.. they are hard to find… my injector nozzle was completely ruined when I first got mine, i think that’s what took out the piston.. I found a direct replacement out of China for it, so they may have a pump that fits also.
Wow 1000 miles in a year on one of these Diesel’s is impressive!
I’d really like to turbo the Cat when I get some $$ freed up. That would probably make a good trail machine with the turbo.
If you want to get together and have a Diesel ride I’m all for it!

@@rockspowersports yeah maybe when they open a trails or something that'd be cool. I know the diesels are incredibly slow in mint for utility, but I set mine up so I can enjoy trail riding. I just go out during the week when there's not a lot of people cuz you can't really get out of people's way very fast lol. I did however modify a Polaris 500 HO muffler and put a 2 inch "mini monster exhaust" bent in an exhaust shop. I lifted it and put 28 mug grabbers which killed holeshot, but helped top end. And I set the injection timing height aggressive as I could. I got an external catch can system for mine and some aftermarket bumpers and a custom mirror setup. And then I spend some coin buying all brand new plastic and made my own decals. I love the machines I think I'm getting 41 mi an hour out of mind on a straight flat road according to the GPS on my phone I did a post on Facebook, I'll have to go back and look what the GPS said. But you're talkin long flat gravel road. It was on pharr road up there behind dorman's off of route 3 in Pittsburg.
Yeah definitely hit me up sometime I definitely be down for a ride LOL. I take mine out to LL Cote in Errol from Pittsburg and it's about 100 mile loop and takes all day and that's how I accumulated the miles last year LOL 😆

@@benjaminzuchowski463 Sounds like you did quite a bit of work to yours! I’ve been thinking about going bigger on my tire size to help with the top end. I actually never took mine on the legal trails yet. Has anybody given you a hard time with the noise out of these things?

I had a 1999 Polaris just like yours. Mine had the glow option. I turned the fuel up a little, ran a straight through exhaust and turned up the RPMs a little. It would top out at 45 mph. Ram the shit out of it and bought a 2007 Arctic Cat diesel just like yours. I turned up the fuel and rpms a little and it will top out at 48 mph. I love the Arctic cat but do miss the Polaris too. I love diesel power. Currently also have a Kubota RTV1100C.

I have the feeling the guy on Cat wasn't full throttle for 2 reasons. #1 theres a secondary section in the throttle that takes a lot of thumb force to push thru so he probably thought the lever was bottomed out when it wasn't. And #2 the top speed on the Cat is ~43mph, and you raced long enough that it should have hit it, yet you finished your race in each direction at only ~33mph. Cat should've won in the long run.
Just picked myself up a Cat Friday. It's miserably slow, but so far, all my acceleration times match yours. Looks like it's time for a turbo and some fuel adjustments!

    • @doomsdaydiesel

Scratch the turbo idea. Just turn the fuel screw in 1-1/2 turns and the Cat is a BEAST! Get your clutch weights added too!
