Our interpretation of one of the best modern anti-war-songs (if not the best!). We changed the arrangement and played it with Grand Piano & (of course!) Cello. Lemmys vocal lines have been sung by a classically trained soprano.
If you like to have the sheet music (piano intro / interludes & cello part - during the verses just the chord symbols for the piano), please write me a PM via my Facebook page!
We are all hardcore Motörhead-Fans! Rest in peace Lemmy, Eddie, Philthy & Würzel!!!
MOTÖRHEAD FOR LIFE!
Please also listen to a cover of Motörhead´s "God was never on your side" I did with my Band ENDTYME

How am I only hearing this in 2024. You've done the song proud ❤
How to make an old man cry. Beautiful, as if a soldier's poem, from a master poet, Lemmy. Thank you.
yeah,bro.. the same feelings! And most saddest thing is that this anti-war song is today more actual as it was in time , when Lemmy wrote it! I am pretty sure, that Lemmy would have no warm word for any ruSSian barbarian! It was the most honest man among rockers! And his awsome texts! #LemmyForever
i'm 36. I cry
I'm A 3 time loser from the Oregon State Prison, & ex Skinhead. I'm a very anti-social and a bitter recluse. I do my best to show no emotions, However,I couldn't hold back crying like a baby listening to your version of 1916. Cheers & thank you. Joey Vomit pdx.♠
It had the same impact on me the first time I heard it in 1991.
Well done, Joey.
4th of July 2024 still listening
Beautiful cover 👍🏻
Lemmy is smiling, proud of you
It IS the best Anti-Warsong ever! And this version is very beautifull! My grandoncle Max Koerfer fought on the German side joyning voluntarily to the army in Nov. 1914 just 16 years old and fell against the British in the last weeks before the end of the war. He died just the way that young boy did in the song. "When will they ever learn?"
As touching as the original. The piano is beautiful, the voice crystal clear. Lemmy would have loved this. Thank you, MHB 744
Splendid cover.
Lemmy R.I.P
ThankU. For me 1916 is the greatest song about war ever. This version absolutely captures the spirit and music and it's enjoyable and satisfying.
So amazing thank you so very much
Bless you. Somewhere Lemmy smiles.
❤

The original version of this song brings a tear to my eye and this one brought many more. Absolutely beautiful, thank you very much for taking the time to create this video.

A nice way to say Goodbye to the Great Mister Kilmister !
Great cover! Lemmy would love it! He is a poet!
Fucking amazing and powerful cover! RIP Lemmy, still shocked it's gone :(
I first heard this song on Rock Radio, and it took me by surprise bringing me to tears. Your version has done the same, a wonderful cover that captures the futility of the original perfectly. Thank you.
A stunning version.
This made me cry
As a person who likes all kinds of music I especially enjoy it classical covers of rock songs or collaborations with orchestras are done. Bringing 2 types of music that are usually at the opposite ends of the music spectrum is awesome.
Damn, I expected this to be terrible... instead, it was fuckin great. Outstanding job... and good looks too
Amazing!
Beautiful
I got to see the 1916 tour With Slayer and Overkill in Atlanta,Ga.Dec 2 1988 when I was 22.🤘🏻
A great version of 1916 !!!
Simply beautiful arrangement, Lemmy would be chuffed. Thanks guys ♠️
this is an amazing cover!
the feeling of wanting it to replay contradicts the fact that this is not a happy song...
Respect!!!! A Wonderful Hommage To Lemmy!
Thanks for your outstanding rendition of this superb peace of music🤘👍🖤
First time i saw your channel, really great work! Thanks a lot 🖤
Wow. I hope this version becomes as famous as the real version.
thank you very much mate!
WOW! What an utterly amazing cover. This has made me feel the same I felt the first time I heard this song on the Friday Rock Show in 1991 It has brought a few tears.
+Lee Berry Thank you very much for your great words - we really appreciate this!
It really is one of the greatest covers I have ever heard. So many covers sound exactly like the original, but this has added so much emotion to an already great song. You should all be rightly proud. I'm sure Lemmy approves.
Pretty voice with great piano.Great duo and incredible cover!
Remember the fallen, remember LEMMY! keep motörhead alive...
great cover 👍
wow! just wow!
Thank you so much, you made me weep. You did Lemmy proud.

Years later. Still incredible x
Damn. You guys nailed it. I am sure Lem would have loved it. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. And I mean that. Thank you....
Thank you very much Erik!
Stunning! This song always brings me to tears, but this version reaches right down and yanks everything out. It's beautiful thank you
a wonderfully haunting cover, it is a fine tribute to Lemmy, and shows the depth that many of his songs carried. Its along there with Les Morts Dansant / Called to Heaven as modern anti-war songs...
Nice voice!
Eine so tolle Interpretation dieses Titels. Meinen ehrlichen Respekt. Das Orginal ist schon berührend, dieses Cover noch viel mehr.
Vielen Dank! Im Laufe des Jahres werde ich noch eine Version von "God was never on your side" aufnehmen, da probieren wir aber noch ganz andere Sachen aus als hier ;-)
0:40 There is a soldier wearing a Brodie helmet in the left hand background. My guess is the footage was taken during a cease-fire where wounded soldiers were recovered, as opposing troops were known to mingle.
Thank you what a voice
Greetings from Karpathos a small island in Greece. Thank you for this gift... because this is the greatest gift first of all for Lemmy!!!
😏
awsome thank you MOTORHEAD 4 LIFE

My Great Grandad was one of the fallen RIP Isaac 😞
Amazing song! Amazing cover!
This is deeply touching, absolutely beautiful! Thank you very much for this piece of (Motörhead)art. I'd wish more classical covers of Metal-songs of such incredible quality would be published.

I wish there were more classically trained singers like this. I can't stand most of them. This is wonderful. Can you follow it up with some Dowland and Webern op. 3?

Goosebumps! thankyou
Its not for the first time and I am not surprised because in Lemmy`s songs you can find a lot of music and lyricism. Great job!!! RIP, Lemmy!
Excellent.
excellent interpretation of this beautiful song, maintains the respect and greatness with which lemmy paid tribute to all those soldiers who in any place and time give their lives conscientiously, knowing that in a war you never win. Lemmy is the best soldier the ROCK army ever gave
thanks Carsten, from Uruguay, South America
@@haunebuvideo Hi Alejandro! It´s great to meet Motörheadbangers from all over the wörld here! Lemmy would have loved to see us united and never forget him and his Band! Cheers to you from Germany!!!

Hello Carsten, when I saw your work in 1916 song, I really appreciated the dedication, creative capacity, art and love of work, and I realized that I was facing a great composer (now no longer unknown) for me and I told my friends about your work. (You can greet them, we are called COMECAÑOS, we are a group of musicians united by heavy rock, we also have a recording studio called "Sala Artigas") they greet you too.
congratulations on DER UNNBEKANNTE KRIEG. You know in my country there are many fallen German soldiers, in 1939 on the coasts of my country the battleship Graff Spee made his last and most glorious battle and lost his children too. The last Nazi insignia that exists in the world is in my country, it is the eagle of the third reich and it was on the stern of the ship, I remain as a witness forever! That is why your homage with the 1916 adaptation is welcome in these lands where there are matorheadbangers and also your fallen brothers. more success in your career!
@@haunebuvideo Thank you very much for your kind words and the interesting historical facts! Indeed I saw a documentation about the "Graf Spee" some time ago.
Yes, please send my greetings to your bandmates! Most recently I did rather write than produce but I´m willing to give producing another try. Do you have tracks you did here on RUclips? I´d love to hear some of it!
Btw - if any of your mates from band & studio or somebody else you know might want to work with me in near future: I started offering my work on fiverr just today. I started with just composing but will add providing audio tracks, too in a couple of weeks, I guess. Here is the kink if you want to know more: de.fiverr.com/s2/aa6ed3d38b
Cheers, Carsten
🎶🕊🙏
thank you very much
Beautiful tribute.
Stunning...as someone who's had to deal with the bad side of war...it just sends goosebumps all over the place...be proud.
Thank you very much Kevin! Marga and I feel very honored by your comment!
Wow it`s a great Cover🤘
