He's been gone nearly 9 years now but he keeps doing it to me as I discover more and more of the songs he's covered or wrote. "1916" reduced me to tears, "Daddy don't kiss me" made me angry. This made me nostalgic for some reason or other. Christmas is coming up soon so I can cheer myself up with the best Xmas song ever. Lemmy on bass and vocals. Billy Gibbons on guitar. Dave Grohl on drums. "Run run Rudolf". Chuck would love it! The best Boy Band ever!!!
Lemmy can sing with an orchestra, rockabilly, rock'n'roll, metal, christmas song or whatever you want at the end it will be a rock song. Lemmy is rock, the rock is Lemmy amen.
Amen. Lemme. One of my favorites. And i am a hank to hendrix kinda chap. This is a rare gem . This gold is the only reason i keep this famn smartphone.
The song was written by P F Sloan, the original hit was by Barry McGuire (former lead singer of the New Christie Minstrels) - and this version arranged/produced by me. The album is actually "Mike Batt: PHILHARMANIA", made in the mid-nineties, with other stars such as Roger Daltrey, Kim Wilde, Marc Almond, John Farnham etc). I'd love to put this out as a single - maybe with an edit -out of my mad orchestra intro otherwise it wouldn't get any radio play!!! It's on Dramatico records.Artist listing will be Mike Batt Feat" Lemmy". I still have hope s we might get to out as a single one day! Had a lot of fun working with Lemmy on this.
Lemmy....I feel sorry for those who never listened to his lyrics when he was alive...but boy will it be good for a whole new lot to find out,,,,his spririt live on his words and music...glad I saw him live the more I found out about the man the more I liked him,Rocking in Peace
me too brother, i loved lemmy but i never got to see him live but eveyr year i drink jack on his birthday and death date, i loved him alot and im sure him and jimi hendrix are having a great time in hevaven
I heard the original a couple of months ago on a programme about the 1960s and found this version here. I didn't know Lemmy had covered it but hell, what a powerful song❤
I always think that he was to good to be Sir, and he never talk nice about politicians and thats probably the main reason. Lemmy is Rock n Roll, and we all know that you can't kill Rock n Roll.
Lemmy was Johny Cash of Rock. Many similarities to both characters and in the singing style also. True original personalities. I wish he had recorded more diverse material like this. He had an amazing narrating style on his singing performance.
Once again, this wonderful version clearly demonstrates to us all the versatility that Lemmy possessed, including Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Rock'n'Roll, Blues, Ballads and a large symphony orchestra - all of which he could.
Lemmy crossed so many musical genres from classical to punk via metal. Will never understand his obsession with the Beatles but will still miss him all the same!
Robert Roberts Look at the Beatles and what they did. Every true musician holds the Beatles on some type of pedestal, or aspire to their greatness in some shape or form. The only downside is that the continued Beatle mania still overpowers a lot of praise that Zeppelin should be getting, but Zeppelin still gets it's fair share of attention.
I grew up listening to Barry McGuire singing this song I loved it back then and I still do today. That version will always be the best in my mind. I did not know Lemmy did this version until now and its excellent as well. I saw Lemmy so long ago, back when he was in the band Hawkwind. It was in some small coastal town in Norfolk England. He came out in to the audience and sat on the floor practically next to me (no seating it was that classy) while the support band was on. He was using two large marbles rolling them round in his fingers the whole time. I guess to exercise his playing hand before going onstage. It was quite a night, I remember them playing Silver Machine of course.
Lemmy konnte Blues, Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Rockabilly, Rock'n'Roll, Balladen - auch wie hier mit großem Orchester - seine Vielseitigkeit war einzigartig.....
Thanks for the upload Erik .F sad that he isn't here to sing this to the world live as it seems to be on the Eve of Destruction Lemmy Kilmister at least lives on in fans of metal and strong vocal musical talent he was pretty good in all the Troma movies that he was in he is my president rock and roll Jesus in return to nuke em high 1&2 and narration of Tromeo and Juliet was perfect Lemmy's talent was huge
Amazing. Lemmy would do anything. Got to remember . He'd done it all. Knew everyone. Roadie for Hendrix. Hawkwind. Only wish he'd wrot Kings of Speed as well as Motorhead and lost Johnny. Wou have lived to have heard Lemmy Eddie and Phil play Kings of Speed.
In my opinion, while Barry McGuire's version of "Eve of Destruction" was right for the time, it sounded to me like it was "rushed", which left a lot of feeling and emotion out of the song. When Lemmy sang it he added that feeling and emotion to the song and you can reeeeeeeally hear it! To me this is the BEST version of this song ever recorded! And the other songs on the album ("Philharmania: Mike Batt and Friends"), are just as great! Highly recommended! 🙂
The LSO has also collaborated with legendary musical genius Jaz Coleman to produce classical versions of the works of the Doors, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin etc

Amen. Lemme. One of my favorites. And i am a hank to hendrix kinda chap. This is a rare gem . This gold is the only reason i keep this famn smartphone.
Lemmy is a classic example of strong voice that pushes the song it hurts to know that he is gone

Just one more of MANY reasons that anyone with a rock n roll heart LOVES Lemmy. RIP

The Royal Kilharmonic

I always think that he was to good to be Sir, and he never talk nice about politicians and thats probably the main reason. Lemmy is Rock n Roll, and we all know that you can't kill Rock n Roll.

I love this! I'm never tired of listining that! RIP Lemmy
You can hear the feeling in his voice. If ya didn't know, He can also win a wrestling match
Lemmy. rocks this song. RIP Lemmy. I was surprised how good it is.
Lemmy was Johny Cash of Rock. Many similarities to both characters and in the singing style also. True original personalities. I wish he had recorded more diverse material like this. He had an amazing narrating style on his singing performance.
Not really. Lemmy was an atheist.
Once again, this wonderful version clearly demonstrates to us all the versatility that Lemmy possessed, including Hard Rock, Heavy Metal, Rock'n'Roll, Blues, Ballads and a large symphony orchestra - all of which he could.
großartig ! So wird Lemmy weiterleben !!!
This is beautiful.
Yeah...The Royal Philharmonic & Lemmy! Great P.F. Sloan song cover. Great vocals everyone and yes…great music.
I was just saying this would be a good song for Lemmy to have covered. Low and behold.....it does exist!!
Well, I wasn't expecting that. Fantastic, and so incredibly relevant.
Lemmy crossed so many musical genres from classical to punk via metal. Will never understand his obsession with the Beatles but will still miss him all the same!

cuz he's modest,that's why
Lemmy sang whatever he wanted, but it always suited every style.

RIP LEMMY! Truly the GOAT!
Wow! Amazing cover by Lemmy!
If I ever get involved in making a movie I will use this song for sure!

When asked who would play lemmy in the motorhead story, lemmy said "Barbara stanwick, because we have the same voice"...
lemmy is one of the best singer ever!
I wish he would have done it with motorhead, but this is still interesting.
