Gonna be the B Cam to my Ursa 12k. I’ve also got a Sony A7IV for more run and gun events and will probably swap that for an FX3 as well next year, they are great cameras the Sonys.
Hi, quick question - is it safe to use s5ii batteries with wasabi charger? I have two original batteries, but can’t find original panasonic charger in my region.
I had owned an ursa g1 for about 4-5 years when I purchased an FX9. After using the Sony FX9, I went and bought an Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k G2. My FX9 mostly sits on the shelf because I prefer the Ursa’s over it. I ONLY use the FX9 when clients ask for it.
My Ursa Mini Pro 4.6k G2 felt like a different camera since I replaced the OLPF filter with Rawlite, IQ is high end Arri looking and no more weird colour shift.
got my self the Fx30 and sir sniper lens kit increble footage was about to buy the bulk 4k when Sony brought out these FX3 and fx30 and im glad I did not cuz I had worked with he elk magic 4k and 6k but glad I waited !!!
I switched to Sony from I went through a phase of grinding and just making content for others I was stuck in the 4k 60fps and was getting overheating issues just running the camera super hard so I switched to Sony. They never failed me I got paid I’m slowly realizing that it’s a good image and it’s the energy exchange that makes people happy Well said!
Make sense even if I am invested in L mount the Blackmagic makes for me no sense when S5iiX and S5ii IQ is so close with a recorder and Blackmagic coast more than a S5iiX. Probably with resales values and features in low light FX3 Burano FX9 maxe more sense for a pro shooter...better invested money than Blackmagic...
Sounds like a familiar decision. I’ve moved from BM to Sony over the last few months. At first I was trying to replace my BMCCs with two Z6IIIs but the sensors were a flickering mess. Instead I’ve shifted over to an FX3 and an FX6 and will never look back. I also have a placeholder in my budget for whatever Sony rolls out this Fall as an FX9 replacement. According to Sony Alpha Rumors, an announcement will come fairly soon. The only thing I miss about the BM full frame is the option of having open gate. Otherwise, the low light capability of the FX cameras blows Blackmagic out of the water, and having autofocus (with face detection) is a huge help for one-person run around shooting. Yesterday I pulled off shots with an FX3/16-35 f4 PZ/RS3 Mini/monopod combination that would be impossible to pull off with an even slightly more bulky setup, that is unless you were going to spend the day setting up jib shots which was not feasible with the schedule and budget available. Absolutely no regrets.
You sold the Black Magic😢 don’t know why you want a $300 Sirui lens with a $20,000 camera though. I use Sirui with my cheap $2000 cameras to stay low budget with great quality.
Sold my 6k pro for a 6k full frame.. returned the full frame that same week.. it was terrible.. went with fx6.. best camera I've owned (and I've owned every Blackmagic, red one, red epic, red dragon, red scarlet w.)
first issue = one of the worst rolling shutters I've ever seen in a camera.. 2nd issue... hdmi stopped working the second day I had it.. and honestly that was the final straw. No longer wanted to deal with the terrible ergonomics and lack of sdi.. and let's be real, it's not a camera to bring on a paid shoot. Blackmagic just isn't an industry standard camera

Yes to the FX3...lol My fave cam. So useful especially when you have to match your Burano! Cheers brother.

I’m sure there’s differences but to me, the burano looks a lot like most mirrorless cameras out there.

Do not upgrade the firmware on that Sony FX3, you may have problems. There are some videos on yt for more extensive details...

The FX3 x 16-35 PZ is such a great match. I keep finding myself grabbing it for what it can do versus how easy and lightweight it is.
