The uglies book series was a terrifying concept: You can have as much plastic surgery you want but we're totes surgically altering you to be docile and complacent to the status quo
Unwind by Neal Shusterman was pretty frightening when you get to a certain part of the book where you have to set it down and really think about what the heck just happened. That book really made me think about death and all and it freaked me out.
+WishMeWings Oh yessss, I believe I just was in shock like, when you thought about it how... They just did this like it was normal I just sat back like how? How does a person become so desensitized that they can do that.
poor ronald. Read red queen and the v girl (only if you're 18 up) I wouldn't like to be a houself or an azkaban prisoner in the harry potter series. And in angelfall everything is messed up whther you're human or angel.
YES ITS SUCH A GOOD BOOK I read it straight through from after school to 10 pm XD Eh, it wasn't that creepy (then again, I have had a lot of WOAH WTF CREEPY moments, but then again, I watch Tokyo Goul and Black Butler not to mention Shokugeki no kyojin)
I LOVE that dress you're wearing! And your hair looks so pretty! This video felt like the old days before stupid throat problems occurred, so much excitable yelling! Yay for feeling better!!! I loved the way you described Twilight. Aro is one of the most insanely deadly characters ever created! Or Jane with her pain powers!
The Diviners by Libba Bray scared the crap out of me. I couldn't sit with my back to a window while I was reading bc I was scared the murderer would be behind me.
That book was terrifying and so was the Anna Dressed in Blood duology (sp?). I could only read those during the middle of the day. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them now
Life as we knew it scared the shit out of me. A comet hits the moon and movie it slightly closer to the earth, and the damn world falls apart. Too real.
Mind Games by Kiersten White is honestly the most terrifying book I've ever read. The concept behind it, like the fact that there are people who can read your thoughts, is so scary because suddenly, your own head is no longer a safe zone. I mean, what the hell do you still own, if even your thoughts are not yours?
Christine, you should read the Alice in Zombieland series. I loved it so much and after I finished the first one i went on RUclips to watch your book talk, but there wasn't one😱
Suuuure, she should read this series and beside being prepared for the scares, she should should also put aside some 100 tissue boxes on the side ^_^# I couldn't even finish reading the fourth book after the third.......
THAT BEGINNING LMAOO HAHA #possessed or #zombie ??! and THE RING IS THE BEST. I LOVE IT. white oak and mountain ash = THE ORIGINALS AND TEEN WOLF I saw what you did there lolol...
The Gone series by Michael Grant. Those books get progressively more and more disturbing as the series continues. Don't get me wrong, the books are great, but let's just say I'm happy I'm 15+.
Unwind, by Neal Shusterman. That book is messed up. Like seriously, I had nightmares about being unwound, even though I'm well past the age that it would happen to me. I was a horrid teenager too, so my parents would totally have had me unwound. Also, The Chaos Walking Trilogy - that was pretty freaky too. A planet where men can hear all the thoughts of other men and they hate women because they can't hear thoughts and the men can't hear their thoughts...so creepy. Everyone keeps talking about Mara Dyer...I think maybe I need to read it.
The Iron Fey Seriously, I would die in the fey world Julie Kagawa created. Everything is a freaking BARGAIN for someone to do something for you. The creatures are merciless like man I would have thought that at least since the main character is you know, THE HEROINE, she would get a break from all the killing but noooooooooo add in a heartless male lead and it's the perfect recipe for masochism lol
+hayley v oh man The Iron Knight gave me MASSIVE heartache from so many things >^< after u finish u should continue on with Call of the Forgotten I've got major feels with how the last book ended and now with the final Iron Warrior (which I'm still so scared to read) book out,,,I need to take a time out lol
+Ker Dunne IKR??!!! I already have the last book (The Iron Warrior) and I just can't get myself to read it. Not because it's boring or anything psshhhh it's far from boring but u know it's THE last book and we don't know how it's going to end and Keirran and Ethan and that biatch Forgotten Queen and just,,keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee I need to calm down lol
Not a book, but the thinking behind perception filters in Doctor Who; hidden monsters that are all around you but the filter stops your concious brain from noticing it, you can only see them as fleeting movement from the corner of your eyes, which is creepy as shit really because you see random movement that's not really there from the corner of your eye all the time.
I don't want to read twilight but if you actually think about it they vampires and werewolves those are terrifying like terrifying would you want to be chased by vampire or a werewolf
Earthbound The others are exactly like she mentioned (Creepy,Freaky...Outright scary). She doesn't mean that the book Twilight is scary...Just that thinking of just the aspect of warding off vampires of that world is scary. Its cause you don't have any safety measures against Twilight vampires. The actual book isn't scary at all
Unwind! I read that book in 6th grade and I was scarred for life. Unwanted living children are literally torn apart for body parts that go onto other people that need them.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO but I have a question: HOW IS IT that Christine has two different hairstyles/outfits in between cuts? Did she film it twice? If so, whyyyyy?
+Abby Erin i think she probably film it the first time, and then thought of something else to say later in the day or something, hence the lost of curls in the hair
Ok, The Giver was scary in a non obvious kind of way. Just the concept, of no one seeing color, hearing music, smelling baked goods, no one having real emotions, no one even allowed to say "I love you" scares the living shit out of me, because I don't want to live in a world like that. A world devoid of everything that makes people human.
apart from the hunger games world that i personally find the scariest, the maze runner world is also hella scary. and not just the maze but also the scorch and the rest of the world fjlles with all those zombie people who have no chance of getting better and if you happen to be immune to the disease youre in an even worse situation bc some evil organisation thats literally named wicked wants to do terrible experiments on you
Bird Box is an amazing scary book! The whole premise of the book is if you look outside, you die. So if you want to go outside, you have to blindfold yourself.
I'm gonna be that asshole and just say that the cast system is neither fictional or ancient, it's still happening in many cultures directly and in a more subtle way
+WishMeWings Agreed! The concept of everyone being able to hear your thoughts is so scary O.o Chaos Walking is my favourite trilogy of all time, but it broke my heart so many times :'( They're the only books that have made me cry XD
Me in the selection series Person:there's a way for you to get to higher rank it's called the selection Me:ok is there one coming up Person: well you actually just missed it isn't that funny Me: bitch do I look like I'm laughing
The School for Good and Evil's world is pretty terrifying. If you don't get a certain grade, you get turned in to an animal or a PLANT. If you fail, you don't just get kicked out, oh no. YOU GET TURNED INTO A FREAKING PLANT HOW AWFUL IS THAT
The Rain (H2O in the US) and The Storm by Virginia Bergin. Set in a dystopian England where there's a virus in the rain that is deadly. All the water supplies have been contaminated, supermarkets have been cleaned out of anything you can drink etc. I live in England and it was raining as I was reading these books. Never been so terrified in my life.
I just finished "H2O" yesterday, and am about halfway through "The Storm". It is really creepy, and a bit claustrophobic, do to the isolation. And the fact that the rain is killing everyone. . . 😱. The irony is I bought "H2O" after a severe rain storm here, which resulted in some nasty flooding; and over the past few days we've had a few showers.
+Cat Boyd It wouldn't stop raining when I was reading it. It made me realise if that scenario became reality we'd all be screwed. These 2 books are probably the only books that have ever scared me.
My top scary books (in no order) : 1) Sharp Objects or basically any book by Gillian Flynn 2) Blue is for Nightmares series by Laurie Faria Stolarz 3) Prophecy of the Sisters series by Michelle Zink 4) The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon or basically any book by Stephen King 5) Gilda Joyce series by Jennifer Allison 6) Pretty Little Liars series by Sara Shepard
OMG Christen!!!! I had I same thing happen to me with "The Ring." My friend told me the plot and I had nightmares for A MOUTH!!!!! It is so good to know that I am not the only one that happened to.
Absolutely agree about Mara Dyer. It's my favourite series I've read this year but a few scenes, I read alone at night (the scene when her room is broken in to) and I was terrified!!! It's my birthday today :)
MelanieCassidy02 Definitelyyyyyyyy its honestly my favorite series. It's actually funny too, some books try to be funny and don't quite get there but this one..... my goddd. and you'll just fall in love with the characters. It's scary because it's so real, like everything that happens to Mara could actually happen to you ( more or less ) and its creepy asf.
1) 172 Hours on the Moon 2) The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer 3) Anna Dressed in Blood 4) The Girl With All the Gifts I scare somewhat easily but also love the feeling of being creeped out when reading a really good story. The suspense in some of these gets me more than the actual scary stuff.
The Rain is a scary book too, i mean imagine it's the rainy season, your friends goes out to bathe in the rain, they die because of the chemicals in it, seriously, like you can't touch anything with the rain water on it or drink any water that has rain in it, basically you'll die if you touch water that you thought was safe, it's reallllyyy scaryyy :(
The Selection is one of my favorite books, but i never actually looked at it that way, and now that i am thats some scary stuff! Love all your vids by the way! You and Tasha are friendship goals!
"I have enough accidents in my everyday Non-Accident Season season. Every five seconds my hip is bumpin' into the door frame." *groansssssss* I feel you, Christine. I slammed my hip into a chair two days ago and it still hurts. A lot.
This is actually something that I've never thought about before... and you are so right, hell no i don't want to be in any of this stories you are completely right
oh and thank you for making my day so much better when I watch you, going through some depressing stuff a d you make me forget about me life and just laugh with you! so thanks!!
i remember reading edger allan poe. my grandmother had all of his short stories in her basement. And i was bored so i decided to read one. And i got so scared I actually hid the book
*holds up twilight I died Lol but then I thought about it, OH MY GOD EDWARD AND EDYTHE ARE TERRIFYING Your hair looks so pretty!! :D I think this video is one of my favs. I was dying the entire time
Your energy makes me so happy! I sprained my shoulder, (yes, that's a thing, it happened to me 2 times,) and your energy is so infectious! Thank you! It makes me happy.... The reason I was upset is because I'm a swimmer, and you can't swim with a bad shoulder
The two scariest books I've read are "172 Hours on the Moon" and "Bad Girls Don't Die". For both of them I had to put done, compose myself then pick it up and keep reading because I really wanted to know what happened! Totally recommend them both.
I read the Shining, and I went into it expecting to be TERRIFIED. Legit, the "scariest" part of it was just how empty I felt afterwards. It's such a heavy book, and when I think about it, I literally feel unwell
I watched The Ring when I was like 12 (The original Japanese version), and then I dreamt that the little girl who came out of the TV insisted that I take her for a walk. I had to say yes and it was terrifying.
Twilight is not about vampires. Vampires have fangs, garlic and stakes through the heart are the only way to kill them and they do not fucking sparkle in the sunlight! They burn up and die.
The Ubecoming of Mara Dyer didn't actually scare me all that much....this is what I get for watching a shit ton of horror movies at 3am, books that should scare me don't scare me
when you said "you'll never know what's real or not real" in the beginning abt Mara Dyer, i freakED OUT BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF PEETAAAAAA "REAL OR NOT REAL"
If there was an award for most energetic RUclipsr .... Christine has it in the bag :D

Scariest Schist Ever.

CORALINE SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME AS A KID
Romée Land I was addicted to it
I love Coraline so much!!
Omg same!!!!
The uglies book series was a terrifying concept: You can have as much plastic surgery you want but we're totes surgically altering you to be docile and complacent to the status quo
That's practically the plot to the Twilight Zone episode "Number Twelve Looks Just Like You", which predates the Uglies series.
Yeah, Uglies is pretty creepy
I got mad after finishing pretties and couldn't bring myself to read the rest
Unwind by Neal Shusterman was pretty frightening when you get to a certain part of the book where you have to set it down and really think about what the heck just happened. That book really made me think about death and all and it freaked me out.
+WishMeWings
I loved the Unwind dystology, which part were you talking about? I'd say specific ones but I don't want to spoil other potential readers.
+IReadIReviewILove unwind is the top of my list
+WishMeWings
Oh yessss, I believe I just was in shock like, when you thought about it how... They just did this like it was normal I just sat back like how? How does a person become so desensitized that they can do that.

+Tashapolis THANKS NATASHA =D
Janes my favorite character :)
I agree completely!! I had to turn my volume back down. I haven't had to do that in a while.
+Tashapolis Totally agree! Also like Jane's brother Alec who had the darkness thing where he shut down your senses..... like NO THANK YOU!
Love that you two support each other's channels :))
Christine's hair= on point
The Diviners by Libba Bray scared the crap out of me. I couldn't sit with my back to a window while I was reading bc I was scared the murderer would be behind me.
+Shelby Jones OMG that book scared the crap out of me!!! That's probably the only book that has legitimately terrified me.
That book was terrifying and so was the Anna Dressed in Blood duology (sp?). I could only read those during the middle of the day. I'm sure there are more but I can't think of them now
+Shelby Jones have you read Lair of Dreams (the sequel)!? I COULDN'T SLEEP AT ALL IT TERRIFIED ME
I HAVENT AND IM SO JEALOUS OF EVERY ONE WHO HAS. I WANT IT SO BAD
+Shelby Jones WHEN YOU DO READ IT AND DO NOT WANT TO BE TERRIFIED, DO NOT READ IT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT YOU WILL DEFFS GET THE HEEBIE JEEBIES
Life as we knew it scared the shit out of me. A comet hits the moon and movie it slightly closer to the earth, and the damn world falls apart. Too real.
OMG YESSSS
that series was amazing
yes
Reading that for school right now, and, wow, I would probably have flung myself off a cliff if my electricity was gone.
YAS!! Those books felt so real it's terrifying
WHAT WAS THAT AT THE BEGINNING CHRISTINE
Christine, you should read the Alice in Zombieland series. I loved it so much and after I finished the first one i went on RUclips to watch your book talk, but there wasn't one😱
I'm not the only one who wants her to read it :)
Suuuure, she should read this series and beside being prepared for the scares, she should should also put aside some 100 tissue boxes on the side ^_^# I couldn't even finish reading the fourth book after the third.......
Yessssss read this
+Autumn Brown one of my favourite series and I would love for Christine to read it!
I so agree, they're great.
THAT BEGINNING LMAOO HAHA #possessed or #zombie ??!
and THE RING IS THE BEST. I LOVE IT.
white oak and mountain ash = THE ORIGINALS AND TEEN WOLF I saw what you did there lolol...
+brandonthebookaddict lol =P
The Gone series by Michael Grant. Those books get progressively more and more disturbing as the series continues. Don't get me wrong, the books are great, but let's just say I'm happy I'm 15+.
+caitlyn caraway oh my gosh i've read the first one and the start of the second they're crayyyyy!
I dot remember them being scary just weird but in a good way
YES a lot of people who don't finish the series don't understand, but it's scarring!!
So I'm 13 and I read them... I wish I hadn't, sorry Michael Grant.
Amelia, I was your age when I started!! It kinda destroys your ability to be shocked by gore in other books, but it's SO worth it!
If I was in The Maze Runner I'd go full on Newt too, I can't blame him.
We don't talk about Newt
Unwind, by Neal Shusterman. That book is messed up. Like seriously, I had nightmares about being unwound, even though I'm well past the age that it would happen to me. I was a horrid teenager too, so my parents would totally have had me unwound.
Also, The Chaos Walking Trilogy - that was pretty freaky too. A planet where men can hear all the thoughts of other men and they hate women because they can't hear thoughts and the men can't hear their thoughts...so creepy.

CHAOS WALKING IS SOOOO GOOD!!!
+ARRRGH! Schooling Exactly
Unwind is on top of my list along with harry potter if you are not a wizard or witch you have it bad.
Mara dyer is sooo good
The Iron Fey
Seriously, I would die in the fey world Julie Kagawa created. Everything is a freaking BARGAIN for someone to do something for you. The creatures are merciless like man I would have thought that at least since the main character is you know, THE HEROINE, she would get a break from all the killing but noooooooooo add in a heartless male lead and it's the perfect recipe for masochism lol
+KuroiAiren5 OMG Someone else who had read the series, im on the iron knight right now
+hayley v oh man The Iron Knight gave me MASSIVE heartache from so many things >^< after u finish u should continue on with Call of the Forgotten I've got major feels with how the last book ended and now with the final Iron Warrior (which I'm still so scared to read) book out,,,I need to take a time out lol

KuroiAiren5 i finished the Iron night yesterday and i can`t wait to start the next series
+Ker Dunne Nnnooouuuuu I can't already *forever crying*
Not a book, but the thinking behind perception filters in Doctor Who; hidden monsters that are all around you but the filter stops your concious brain from noticing it, you can only see them as fleeting movement from the corner of your eyes, which is creepy as shit really because you see random movement that's not really there from the corner of your eye all the time.
ok...i had you until you picked up Twilight lol. Now Im wondering how scary the other books your refferring are.
I LOVE THIS VIDEO but I have a question:
HOW IS IT that Christine has two different hairstyles/outfits in between cuts? Did she film it twice? If so, whyyyyy?
She didn't. The most that changed was she took her necklace and glasses off
+Rosiee Marie she changed her hair, too.
OMG U NOTICED TOO? How DO you do it Christine? You're magic
+Abby Erin i think she probably film it the first time, and then thought of something else to say later in the day or something, hence the lost of curls in the hair
+Abby Erin i had to film some parts again cuz i didnt like them =D
Your hair is so fabulous in this video.
Angelfall creeped me out quite a lot tbh
Ok, The Giver was scary in a non obvious kind of way. Just the concept, of no one seeing color, hearing music, smelling baked goods, no one having real emotions, no one even allowed to say "I love you" scares the living shit out of me, because I don't want to live in a world like that. This video was so entertaining and cheered me up! You're enthusiasm and excitement excites me. Christine's hair is so pretty in this as well.
Are you related to Graveyard girl ?
I was thinking the same
The Maze Runner gave me some chills. You know, with the greivers, cranks, and just the flare virus in general. Yeesh.
Yeah I'm a Stephen King reader so I guess that says what needs to be said XD
I feel like We Were Liars kinda creeped me out, but in a good way because I still really enjoyed it.
That intro tho.

Definitelyyyyyyyy its honestly my favorite series. It's actually funny too, some books try to be funny and don't quite get there but this one..... my goddd. and you'll just fall in love with the characters. christine FINISH THE THIRD MARA DYER!! i was walking around mind blowned for days it is SO GOOD!
Currently reading The Accident Season and yeah pretty much it's freaking me out.
+Lavender Mud lolol as to be expected by the concept i guess =P
YES. This is so great. Because sometimes spooky books are spooky but its the "normal" popular YA books with the craziest plots that are the creepiest.
The Rain is a scary book too, i mean imagine it's the rainy season, your friends goes out to bathe in the rain, they die because of the chemicals in it, seriously, like you can't touch anything with the rain water on it or drink any water that has rain in it, basically you'll die if you touch water that you thought was safe, it's reallllyyy scaryyy :(
Omg the Mara Dyer trilogy was haunting and freaking amazing
The Selection is one of my favorite books, but i never actually looked at it that way, and now that i am thats some scary stuff! Love all your vids by the way! You and Tasha are friendship goals!
Mara Deyer, Branded by Abi Ketner, All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terill
You sounded like Beetlejuice when you said “don’t get me started on The Hunger Games.”
"I have enough accidents in my everyday Non-Accident Season season. Every five seconds my hip is bumpin' into the door frame."
*groansssssss* I feel you, Christine. I slammed my hip into a chair two days ago and it still hurts. A lot.
OH MY GOD THE MARA DYER TRILOGY WAS SO FANTABULOUS I LITERALLY CANNOT
Hi Christine! Did you finish Retribution of Mara Dyer? :)
I put down Wake awhile ago, should I continue it? I don't really like horror stories... so..
Crime and Punishment gave me nightmares. Unbelievably good. Seriously. The main characters descent into madness is truly terrifying
how do you find divergent scary I mean I just don't see that and I could survive there
I think she's thinking like if she were tris doing exactly what she had to do that would be scary.
Ya it might be a little scary but no to to bad
+Gabby W-T i think she means it would be scary for her to live in there.. like surviving and stuff XD
The Selection was scary to me because they actually explained how the dystopia came to be and man that was too real
*holds up twilight

I want to undertand the hair change in this video
MARA DYER IS MY ALL TIME FAVORITE BOOK LIKE ITS ALMOST EQUAL WITH HARRY POTTER
Your energy makes me so happy! I sprained my shoulder, (yes, that's a thing, it happened to me 2 times,) and your energy is so infectious! Thank you! It makes me happy.... The reason I was upset is because I'm a swimmer, and you can't swim with a bad shoulder
love your hair today!
so happy this video is out now!
I have literally marked my calendar on ever Tuesday for your videos
Sasha and Christine uploaded a new video at the same time. So happy to be watching videos of you again
The two scariest books I've read are "172 Hours on the Moon" and "Bad Girls Don't Die". For both of them I had to put done, compose myself then pick it up and keep reading because I really wanted to know what happened! Totally recommend them both.
Stephenie meyers admitted that she knew nothing about vampires when she wrote twilight, so that's why they're so badly done...
my cousins made me watch the ring when I was 8 I still cover my TV with a blanket. 😭
Throne of Glass
Seeing Dorian get hurt is my worst nightmare
Please tell me I ain't the only one that can't stop laughing. Christine, your vids are AWESOME.
+Samantha Schulz thank you =D
+Samantha Schulz i had to laugh so much XD
I read the Shining, and I went into it expecting to be TERRIFIED. Legit, the "scariest" part of it was just how empty I felt afterwards. It's such a heavy book, and when I think about it, I literally feel unwell
"If you wanna have a competition for some money, let's play Trivial Pursuit."
all the yes
I watched The Ring when I was like 12 (The original Japanese version), and then I dreamt that the little girl who came out of the TV insisted that I take her for a walk. I had to say yes and it was terrifying.
it seems like you filmed for three hours based on the number of jump cuts and drank four cups of coffee directly beforehand but i loved every second
Twilight is not about vampires. Vampires have fangs, garlic and stakes through the heart are the only way to kill them and they do not fucking sparkle in the sunlight! They burn up and die.
This is by far my favorite video of yours! Hilarious!
lol 😂 she seems to remove all her anger in this single video
A clockwork orange gets you like crazy. I've read it Last month!
Yayyy I found another person that's read Mara Dyer and actually likes it.
Also your taste in books is awesome
The Ubecoming of Mara Dyer didn't actually scare me all that much....this is what I get for watching a shit ton of horror movies at 3am, books that should scare me don't scare me
when you said "you'll never know what's real or not real" in the beginning abt Mara Dyer, i freakED OUT BECAUSE IT REMINDS ME OF PEETAAAAAA "REAL OR NOT REAL"
