I bought 13 books at one go last month! The plastic bags were CUTTING INTO MY SKIN. And my mom was just like, better to buy books than buy drugs? Thanks MOM.
+RandomRighteousness Yeah... I did that but my mum payed (I'm 14) and she wasn't a big help... she kept on moving from shelf to shelf and telling me to "look at that one" and "try this one"... I ended up with more than 10 books... I don't even.
I consantly want to grab more and more books while I'm in the store but I always go with my mom (because she pays. I'm underage.) so she holds me back all the time
yeah i am underaged too but my mom stopped buying my books when I was like 11 years old xD she still ztops me from buying too much books though. btw are you dutch? your name sounds pretty dutch xd
i'm so sorry you had to move twice but at least you're in a much more pleasant apartment now :) i'm halfway through winter right now and it is AMAZING you're totally going to love it :)) I HATE THE THIN PAGES THO LIKE THEY ARE BIBLE THIN AND IM NOT OKAY WITH IT oh awkward you just said that i wish it was massive too! like now it's not impressive when i can tell people i read the whole thing XD i'm pretty sure the hardcover of COB is the only one because it's the "collectors edition" but i would be so happy if they released all of them! i don't think you mentioned it in the video, but it also has a map of all of the places in city of bones and the first chapter from jace's perspective (which was PHENOMENAL) :) THAT LAST BOOK IS SO PRETTY INSIDE AND OUT

+Elizabeth Mae Half Price Books is dangerous. When it first opened it seemed every time I walked in was during a sale. So I'd spend over an hour wandering their YA section, their mystery section, sci-fi... And then I'd be walking around with this stack of books. One of the guys working there asked me if I wanted a basket or a cart: "Basket please." My mom literally heard this from across the store and yelled: "OH GOD NO!" .... I have a lot of books.
Going to Barnes and Noble is always an adventure for me. I can usually spend about two hours, because I have to walk down EVERY aisle and look at ANY book that catches my eye, sit on the ground in front of sections I need to do an extensive search through, and leave having spent at least $100. It's a ritual I have full embraced. I just find so much peace in that store ♥
One of my friends I literally can't bring book shopping with me because I will ask her "should i get this one? I don't really need it but should i?" and she always says yes
+TeasersBooks My friend isn't a book nerd (cue gasps) so whenever we go to the bookstore or pass by the book section in the store, she always drags me away from the book section. Sometimes it's funny when I fight back because one of us usually ends up slipping in the middle of the store or in an awkward position and somebody walks by, so we are just there like, "WE ARE JUST FIGHTING ABOUT MY BOOK ADDICTION. NOTHING WRONG HERE."
+Kayla Damian OMG SAAAAAAMMMEEEEE! Just bought five books off of Amazon like three hours ago (while watching Christine's book hauls)... Got The Lunar Chronicles series and The Assassins Blade (don't even have the other books in the series but PRETTY COVER)
+blainevanity6 Her boyfriend, he's also a pretty big youtuber. He's british so if you're not into the british side of youtube you might not know him! His channel is Tim H and he makes really good short films and stuff! I recommend his channel!!
i totally get it. those magical moments when u see a book u really want on the shelf in the store when u don't even expect it to be there. *rainbows shining and angels singing in the background*
it's so nice how all book collectors are most excited about matching covers in series because of how good they'll look on the shelf together. It brings me an overwhelming amount of joy and pleasure.
I understand the book buying struggle. This time I was on the book depository and my mum said that I had enough books so I told her "I'm buying them as a Christmas present to myself" and she gave me the death stare!
Christine, this is seriously my favorite video by you outside of reviews. It's a problem I struggle with DAILY. A struggle every book lover deal with, and often lose
I totally feel you Christine! I was in the city (I went 4 hours on the train, like effort) and I was trying to find Lair of Dreams in the UK cover, but it's out of stock ON BOOK DEPOSITORY (the shame) and so I went in to the huge bookstore in the middle of the city, bought that, plus the new Starbound Trilogy book and another book for a friend I was seeing that day... I spent over $70... and I WORK in a bookstore... (there was literally no need other than my emotions would not chill)
I havent boughten a new book since like october and I am so scared to go to barnes and noble because all hell is going to break loose in my bank account
Probably the funniest book haul/ mysterious book display / book buying rampage ever to be seen on youtube!! Seriously though, Barnes & Noble can be the ultimate trap for you and your money! Be warned fellow book buyers. =P
5-9 months of pregnancy and we moved THREE effin times! I thought i was going to explode, so I know how you feel with moving headaches! Winter was great going to re-read:)
I'm from Mexico. I thought Barnes & Noble was the only place to buy books and I would have to buy more than 5 books because I didn't know when I'd be able to come back. Thank God I've found book depository. This video just made me realize how blind I've been for so many years. Thank you booktube!
The City of Bones hardback you got is a Barnes & Noble exlusive collector's edition. The new covers are for paperbacks only and they all have a map of NYC and a foreword. The B & N edition has more stuff like the Clary poster and two short stories from Jace's POV (seeing/meeting Clary for the first time and their first kiss). I can't post a link here but it's very easy to find the hardcover on B & N.com when you search for City of Bones Collector's Edition. Also disappointed to Winter isn't as big as I had hoped it would be.
I just love how genuine, your videos are :)...and you of course :D I follow a couple of booktubers, but I must say none has your energy and positive vibe that you transmit. And this kind of videos makes me feel not so guilty of ordering or buying new books every couple of weeks.. I think I might be a book hoarder :)))
Okay, so I totally get you, I NEED. THE BOOK. NOW. So I'm on amazon and I'm adding like 20 books to my cart and I keep on looking through until I see something horrible. Life changing. Terrifying. Literally more than HALF the books I want come out next year. -__- WHAT THE WHAT?! LIKE THE RICK RIORDAN BOOKS AND THE UH, OTHER AUTHORS BOOKS THAT I FORGOT THEIR NAME. COMES OUT. NEXT YEAR UGHGHGHGH Being a fangirl and a bookworm is torture
Hahahaha love that your wrapped in the fairylights. Sorry to hear about your living situation problems!! That's gonna be me in December!! My landlord is kicking me out because someone else is willing to pay TRIPLE what I pay for my flat :( sniff sniff. Hahaha I am JUST like you - I HAVE to them right NOW even if I know I can get them cheaper elsewhere lol! You're brilliant!!! BRILLIANT. Illuminae
I'm not sure if someone has already commented it or if you've already found out but City of Bones the new cover actually has a number of extras! There is a map, drawings of their apartments and other main spots in the story and numbers indicating where they are on the map, and there are a number of extra scenes at the back that are rewritten from Jace's point of view such as the Midnight Flower scene and the Pandemonium scene! There are a few other little things like a note from Cassie and TDA snippets so yeah! Just thought I'd let you know so you don't miss them! :D
I do not know if anyone else has mentioned this... or if you've found it by now... but the hardcover of City of Bones that you got is a collector's edition and in the back there is a new short story called "Awake" that is from Jace's point of view from when he first met Clary and it is beautiful.
I feel your pain!! Not only am I in the process of moving houses, I have a book shelf in my dorm room that has no more room! DX AND, i just bought six new books last week!
I have the same problem as you, I pile up a list of the books I wanna buy and then get them all at once. being in Australia, books aren't cheap, so when I went to Hawaii at the end of last year I may or may not have bought 23 books from Barnes and Noble... I became a B&N member while there cause with the amount of money I spent, the 10% off ended up being worth it 😂 3 months later I bought over 30 books and used up all my birthday money. since then my parents put me on a ban, but the books someone keep piling up (especially from publishers). wow that was a long comment but YES I FEEL YOU TO BINGE BUYING IS A PROBLEM BUT GOSH IT FEELS GOOD. thanks for making a pretty crap day better with this video Christine 💗💗💗
Oh man! My name is Cera and I'm a book addict too. Black Friday was like the best/worst for me for book buying. I have so many books right now that they overflowed my bookshelves.
+Layla Aref so im guessing the apartment u r talking about its the old shared one with Kat and the apartment that +kenza Nassiri said is the new one that christine moved in alone then had to move out because of allergies to this new new one (in this video)?
This happened to me this year when I took a trip to Portland with my mom for my birthday. We went to Powell's City of books and I kept finding all the books I wanted to get. I exercised a little self control and only left the store with seven books. Hey, it was my birthday, and I've only bought two books from a thrift store since.
I do this all the time on Amazon, just adding books to my cart until I have like 5-10 and realize I want them all and only getting one or two is impossible! First & Then was super cute! I hope you enjoy I had no idea she was a youtuber I'll have to look her up now. I can't wait to read Winter! I still need to get Through the Dark but I can't as it's on my Christmas list and I've been banned from buying things off that list until post Christmas!
I'm going to have to move in another year or so.... And I have 3 bookshelves, almost full.... That'll be so much fun to pack up. Yay. And since my rooms downstairs I'll have to carry the boxes up the stairs
My closest bookstore is 30-40 minutes away and I don't have a car or any way of transporting myself. So when I do go, I leave with at least seven books every time.
I just want to talk about books with you like for hours you are like the best person to just fangirl with. Like you can get me excited and happy about a book so quickly and yes yay yes!
I make a list at the beginning of each month of what books I want then buy them all on Amazon on at the end and its such a happy feeling opening a box full of books !
Have we got any confirmation that new addition of the hardcovers for the mortal instrument and infernal devices are going to be released every year. I'm please to me something, I love hardcovers!!
Your awesome Christine! Any book I read I always go to your channel and see if you did a book review! Like I don't know what I would've done if I read The Mortal Instruments and I didn't find you
I totally have you beat, hon. :) Black Friday at Barnes & Noble, I bought like 7 or 8 books for $170 (and these books were the B&N collectibles, buy 1 and get 1 50% off). And one month I bought approximately 320 books at a single book sale.
I just did this this week. I purchased Wreck This Journal, Winter, and Judy Blume's new adult novel. Because it's Judy Flipping Blume that woman owns my childhood. I NEEDED it. I don't even know what it's about but I NEEDED it
You can buy books at Target and then price match with Amazon at the guest services counter, so you can get books for cheaper and right when you want them.
I'm sitting outside Barnes and Noble watching this in order to stop myself from spending my whole week's paycheck on books lol And it's been a terrible week & when I'm upset I buy 3 things: books, plants, & Disney things. I'm sitting so close to Barnes and Noble, this is SO dangerous
It's perfect that you have another version of City of Bones! I want them all! Even if it's the same book, this edition has special stuff, and even if it didn't, I would still want it. Cuz it's CASSANDRA CLARE
What? Christine, you bought the new Cover? :P But the Spine of the original HCs is also really cool xD OMG! I've read First & Then and I don't even know who you are talking about, but that book was supercool! Really really cute love story! Also I love Jane Austen ♥ and this was all about Austenlove ♥ And now imagine living in Germany. Like, I can get mostly any novel as a review copy. But am I able to WAIT for the German version to come out? Yeah... Not so much.
tine - I feel the moving pain...and the book binge pain too! Last month I substituted during Book Fair Week and wound up coming home one day with 17 new books. SEVENTEEN! Maybe I should do a book binge haul video for that? HA...I don't have the lights though so I guess I'll leave it to the professional.
Well as a 15 year old who doesn't have a job and obviously lives with her parents, I’m lucky enough if they let me buy one book. But once, in April of this year, I went to Barnes and Noble with my grandparents and cousins, and I bought 4 books. The grand total was like $80, and luckily I had like two leftover gift cards from Christmas along with cash, and I bought them. I bought the first two Harry Potter books in hardcover to match the rest of the series, “The Wicked Will Rise” by Danielle Paige which is the second book in the “Dorothy Must Die” series, and I bought the bind up of novellas that go with Dorothy Must Die. Needless to say, my parents weren't pleased😂
Christine, Target has a special edition of Winter with beautiful fanart inside the cover and it's cheaper than B&N!!! I didn't know so I bought the Barnes and Noble one first but once I saw the Target one I was like "I gotta" so now I have 2 copies (:
I find it's a bad sign when I start referring to the books I just picked off the shelf as "mine" My brain has already decided at this point that if I leave those books I am abandoning them and how dare I do that, I'm a terrible book parent. I obviously must buy them.
Christine, a YA Western you should read is "Walk on Earth A Stranger" by Rae Carson! It was so good and takes place during the California Gold Rush. The main character has the ability to sense gold. :D
My tip is to get books from the library if you're reading them for the first time. That way you can read it for free, and if you didn't like it it's not a waste of money. Then, if you really like the book you can buy it, or even better, ask for it for your birthday (or any other gift-giving occasions.)
One time I walked into Barnes and Noble with one book in mind. I left with seven.
+Maddie Esposito NO SHAME IT HAPPENS TO THE BEST OF US
It truly does
The only thing keeping me from buying 7books in one day is money

I bought 13 books at one go last month! The plastic bags were CUTTING INTO MY SKIN. And my mom was just like, better to buy books than buy drugs? Thanks MOM.
Bananaイルディ I’ve often called my book buying my habit.
You moved twice--you DESERVE those 5 books.💁 And yes, I wished WINTER was huge, too.
+Books Beauty Ameriie lol THANKS AMERIEE =P
***** ^_~ !!
Okay. But. In all honesty, I would've been like, it's time to reward yourself after TWO moves!!!! BUT YOU COULD HAVE WAITED ON A FEW OF THOSE.
+Tashapolis I KNEW you got those lights! I wondered how you got the lights to wrap up and around the iron shelf.
+Tashapolis lol XD
Happens to me all the time, Christine, no worries. And I work in Barnes and Noble, so the danger is very real.
+Julanne Wicks aw man that must make non book buying so difficult!
Nearly impossible. I pretty much get my paycheck and then give it back some weeks -_- No will power.
+polandbananasBOOKS hey :) can you tell us why did you move? I m really confused
+ioana yoyo she said there wasn't enough space in the other apartment
+ioana yoyo she was allergic to something there
Xtine: I bought 5 books!
Me: ha...ha...ha *pushes 15 new books over*
+jada souza lolol i get a lot of books but never at once and never all from barnes where they're all 20 bucks a piece XD
+polandbananasBOOKS dollars
lmao 5 books. Ive spent about $300 in that store before. No regrets
No ragrets...
LOL
I'm Australian, but because I was buying $380 worth of books while in America at B&N, I became a member cause the 10% off was worth it 😂
+RandomRighteousness Yeah... I did that but my mum payed (I'm 14) and she wasn't a big help... she kept on moving from shelf to shelf and telling me to "look at that one" and "try this one"... I ended up with more than 10 books... I don't even.
Taiwanese here. Every time I purchase a book it's like thrice as much as its original cost, and my mom still paid for me. #bestmom2015
?!?!?!? WHy do people say you're bad at makeup??!??! honestly!!!! YOUR EYELINER (and rest of makeup) ACTUALLY LOOKS REALLY GOOD THOUGH!!!!
I know I always think that too! I love her make-up!
Does anyone else smell new books, they smell soooooo good! 😂😂
I would much rather have perfume that smells of books than roses or whatever people where.
*wear
+BooksAndRUclips - Amelia I know books smell loads better
+Isobel Edwards over here ^^
+Isobel Edwards There is nothing like cracking open a new book and having that lovely smell of new paper hit you. It feels cozy.
I consantly want to grab more and more books while I'm in the store but I always go with my mom (because she pays. I'm underage.) so she holds me back all the time
Story of my life!
It's so frustrating when there are like a million books that I want but I can't because I don't have my own money!
+Jelke Lenaerts same...
I understand your struggle!!!
yeah i am underaged too but my mom stopped buying my books when I was like 11 years old xD she still ztops me from buying too much books though. btw are you dutch? your name sounds pretty dutch xd
i'm so sorry you had to move twice but at least you're in a much more pleasant apartment now :)
i'm halfway through winter right now and it is AMAZING you're totally going to love it :))
I HATE THE THIN PAGES THO LIKE THEY ARE BIBLE THIN AND IM NOT OKAY WITH IT
oh awkward you just said that
i wish it was massive too! like now it's not impressive when i can tell people i read the whole thing XD
i'm pretty sure the hardcover of COB is the only one because it's the "collectors edition" but i would be so happy if they released all of them!
i don't think you mentioned it in the video, but it also has a map of all of the places in city of bones and the first chapter from jace's perspective (which was PHENOMENAL) :)
THAT LAST BOOK IS SO PRETTY INSIDE AND OUT

+CAKE & TK 3 or 4 for £60?! That's really expensive, where are you buying books?😱 I could probably get 10-12 books for £60🤔
I love powells. If I try to stay away from brand new books I can usually get 12 books for 60-80. So awesome!

Which is 117 dollars

Yeah, B&N is great but expensive
Check out ThriftBooks.com Even better!
I'm from Mexico. I thought Barnes & Noble was the only place to buy books and I would have to buy more than 5 books because I didn't know when I'd be able to come back. Thank God I've found book depository. This video just made me realize how blind I've been for so many years. Thank you booktube!

OMG I WANNA WRAP MYSELF IN CHRISTMAS LIGHTS TOO!!
You are so lucky Christine!!!! I only get enough money to buy paperbacks...but I ADORE HARDCOVERS. :(
I put a book buying ban five days ago and I have bought four books since then
One word. Library. My librarian hooked me up with Winter a few days ago and I've just finished it AND ITS SOOO AMAZTASTIC!
i was expecting like 20 or something not 5 lol
Great... now I want to have Winter. It looks so pretty!! I definitely have to read the Lunar Chronicles
"WHENEVER I GET TO THIS IN THE NEXT TEN YEARS "

I became a B&N member while there cause with the amount of money I spent, the 10% off ended up being worth it 😂 3 months later I bought over 30 books and used up all my birthday money. since then my parents put me on a ban, but the books someone keep piling up (especially from publishers). wow that was a long comment but YES I FEEL YOU TO BINGE BUYING IS A PROBLEM BUT GOSH IT FEELS GOOD. thanks for making a pretty crap day better with this video Christine 💗💗💗
You and all the booksplosion should read Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson
Yes yes yes. They need more Brandon Sanderson
Oh man! My name is Cera and I'm a book addict too. Black Friday was like the best/worst for me for book buying. I have so many books right now that they overflowed my bookshelves.
im def judging you for that city of bones buy😂
Winter is amazing!! You have to read it!
Someone tell me why she moved out?!
she was allergic to her old apartment with kat but I don't know why she had to move again xD
+Layla Aref not true she said she was alergic to something their so she had to moove wtf
$100 for 5 books wtf
Right?! I just bought 18 for 50 and I can't comprehend.
Bopsterjazz where do you buy books?
Sofia h A local bookstore called Bookman's. They have really good deals sometimes.
Yaryna THATS CHEAP AF
Barnes and Noble online is usually a lot cheaper than the store itself. Plus the shipping is good since you're a member.
MOCKINGJAY PART 2 MOVIE REVIEW LIVE SHOW COME ON
+Ana Sofia Rodrigues she already made a movie review
+Daniela Mellino i know i knpw but she always does this liveshows, and i just love it much
+Ana Sofia Rodrigues Actually, her liveshows are only for the booksplosion book of the month, so she won't be making one about Mockingjay.
Christine!!! Im reading alot of books! And today i was like, why?! Then i was like cause reading is perfection. Duh.
My closest bookstore is 30-40 minutes away and I don't have a car or any way of transporting myself. So when I do go, I leave with at least seven books every time.
I moved a while ago and in the middle of moving I thought id be a good idea to go to B&N....no. I bought 5 or 6 new books and I have NO REGRETS
I just want to talk about books with you like for hours you are like the best person to just fangirl with. Like you can get me excited and happy about a book so quickly and yes yay yes!
I have no job, no income, I'm a teen and I can not, can not stop getting books on books on books I know the feeling Christine!!!
"Whenever I get around to reading it in the next ten years, I'll be excited to read it." I'M CRYING YOU JUST DESCRIBED ALL OUR TBR PROBS :DDDD
Like I don't know what I would've done if I read The Mortal Instruments and I didn't find you
You look so pretty in this video Christine. Not buying books never works, it's okay, we must buy them all. Love you, Christine.

Is City of Bones worth buying and reading? I do not have it and I haven’t read any Cassandra Clare books.
I totally have you beat, hon. :) Black Friday at Barnes & Noble, I bought like 7 or 8 books for $170 (and these books were the B&N collectibles, buy 1 and get 1 50% off). And one month I bought approximately 320 books at a single book sale.
I havent watched your videos in almost 3 months and i came back and it was like Christmas with so many new videos
+EMILY waterman =D
I just did this this week. I purchased Wreck This Journal, Winter, and Judy Blume's new adult novel. Because it's Judy Flipping Blume that woman owns my childhood. I NEEDED it. I don't even know what it's about but I NEEDED it
You can buy books at Target and then price match with Amazon at the guest services counter, so you can get books for cheaper and right when you want them.
Thank you for understand ..... And what a lovely birthday present!!
I'm sitting outside Barnes and Noble watching this in order to stop myself from spending my whole week's paycheck on books lol
And it's been a terrible week & when I'm upset I buy 3 things: books, plants, & Disney things. I'm sitting so close to Barnes and Noble, this is SO dangerous
Christine, you have to read "Taken" by Erin Bowman. I read it over the summer and it was amazing!
It's perfect that you have another version of City of Bones! I want them all! Even if it's the same book, this edition has special stuff, and even if it didn't, I would still want it. Cuz it's CASSANDRA CLARE
What? Christine, you bought the new Cover? :P
But the Spine of the original HCs is also really cool xD
OMG! I've read First & Then and I don't even know who you are talking about, but that book was supercool! Really really cute love story! Also I love Jane Austen ♥ and this was all about Austenlove ♥
And now imagine living in Germany.
I find it's a bad sign when I start referring to the books I just picked off the shelf as "mine"
My brain has already decided at this point that if I leave those books I am abandoning them and how dare I do that, I'm a terrible book parent. I obviously must buy them.
BTW Christine, don't be shy to buy books for pretty covers. I order books from USA and pay extra for better covers. I live in Europe...
