It’s great to explore the castle if your a HP fan but after that the world is so empty with zero interaction from NPC’s that aren’t attached to a quest. Bully was so much better 😂
Yeah don’t even keep going. The games funnest parts is the first 5 hours. After that it just gets more and more boring when you see how repetitive and empty the world and it’s missions are. Game feels like it was made for kids to enjoy. It’s even too easy of a game on the hardest difficulty.

@@harrydwyer7136 What does "exploring the castle" consist of? Literally just standing in each of the rooms. Castle exploration was non-existent.
This is one of the WORST designed games I've ever played in my entire life. I really tried to like this game. But after 20 hours I had to stop because it's incredibly boring.
Why? Boring and random characters, bad combat system, bad and boring progression system, meh story, endless tutorials, cutscene simulator.

Hogwarts legacy won my new biggest waste on a game ever. Got it cheap and still felt ripped off. Forced myself to play for 4 hours until I uninstalled it for space.
I forced myself to finish it, then I deleted it for an infinitely better game, jedi survivor. I originally got it because jedi survivor was out of stock at gamestop, so this was just to make the time I spent getting there worth it. I immediately deleted once I had enough credit from Microsoft to get it, and now 20 GB less and a much better game.

@@jrwwp yep, I wish I was like you, played for 4 hours then uninstall, but I just spent too money on it, (40 bucks is a lot, not a small amount) so I played it so it didn't go to waste.
I felt similarly. Introduced it to my partner who doesn't play games but has grown up with HP. She loved it. So it's a win in the end, now im not the only one putting hours into gaming.
Literally same story. I wait for a good sale and got it for about 40 bucks on ps5 , played it for about 3 hours and was bored out of my mind and didn’t like the game play. Still felt ripped off. I didn’t research gameplay because I thought it was gonna be game of the year and I didn’t want any kind of spoilers. So diss appointed

@@curtismartin9054 it gets good. The dark spells. Enemies killing u in 3 hits or less. Learning thr dark spells and that one spot that doing wrong kills you and you don't heal unless u have potions is dope.

So empty, so many missed opportunities, no real simulation into the wizarding world, it seems to me like a middle earth games compared to LOTR- nice gameplay but no nostalgia and boring quests.... :(((
I think you got it mixed up… more nostalgia than anything that’s why it was a huge success bc of Harry Potter fans and nostalgia it brings to them. So imo it’s more nostalgia but repetitive gameplay/combat and boring quests.

I’d rather just ride around on the broom for awhile after work than do the main quests. I’m a little over halfway. There’s a lot to learn which I don’t mind but everything Ive learned doesn’t add much to the thrill of the game at all. All I can think of is “Revelio” the entire game
I loved doing everything BUT the missions. I’d rather fly around and unlock places and fight goons and solving puzzles around the map but the missions and conversing with the npcs were BORING AF! The potterverse is gorgeous and game looks fabulous but gave up on the game after 20 hrs of playing.
Couldn't complete the game. Just too boring and Hogwarts feels empty. Would rather play Chamber of Secrets on PC again.
i cant for the sake of it continue playing it. i love the potter universe and they do a great job making you feel that but everything this game does is beeing a giant fan service of nostalgia. just take the lessons for example. in the movies, when harry had a lesson for herbalism, they had this mandrake, protect your ears thing. guess what the game does... THE EXACT SAME THING. they cant even come up with something new, they copy paste whats in the movie and you re sitting there... ''i did this before even tho i never played it'' and even lore wise it makes no sense. harry had the mandrake lesson in his first year and we are 5th grade and learning all that basic stuff?
i am 15 hours into the game... and NOTHING!!! happened... like seriously nothing. i havent fought a single enemy or seen anything new or exiting. i m just running around the castle doing mundane tasks and spamming revelio every 5 seconds. nothing story wise happened either.
even hogwarts itself doesnt feel like hogwarts. its supposed to be a giant castle. remember how it looked in the movies? cold stone everywhere and staircases who change directions and all that? none of that is in the game. hogwarts feels like a giant museum with wood walls and music and marble floors and the staircases to all the different rooms arent there either but just a lame spiral staircase that just appears out of nowhere.
the game feels like a nice looking joke and i cant understand how people hype it up so much.

i m bored to death... seriously? the lego harry potter games are more fun and engaging than this game, and it really reminds me of how good of an rpg games like the witcher3 or the mass effect series or skyrim were. i would replay those games for the 10th time over hogwarts legacy.
you know what game hogwarts legacy reminds me of? Genshin impact in a harry potter universe. running around skipping dialogue because its uninteresting collecting a bazillion chests with garbage in it so you have better gear that you dont even need because the game is stupi easy as is. i m literally getting the exact same vibes from hogwarts, that i was getting when trying genshin back then and i m bored just because of the same reasons. hogwarts legacy does the same thing like rings of power did. yes it has the nametag on and looks and sounds a little bit like lotr... but its just made up nonsense and has nothing to do with tolkien. same as hogwarts legacy, it looks and sounds a little bit like harry potter but it has nothing to do with harry potter or j.k rowling
I agree with you, especially the fan service thing. The Mandrake and Accio lessons bothered me in particular. You said the Mandrake lesson was in Harry's first year, but it was actually his second year. Nevertheless, having it in this game in fifth year is nothing but lore breaking in the name of fan service.
Constant tutorials and x-ray vision whenever you want. Yep, definitely a game for the modern generation.

Game feels like it was made for kids with too much time on their hands.
My boyfriend loved it and I debated buying it off and on and when I watched him play I was absolutely unimpressed. Gorgeous game with so much content that seems to amount to nothing. I was especially disappointed in the magical animals you could have done so much with them but all it ultimately amounts to is just something to collect. There's nothing meaningful to much of the content aside from profiting off of the Harry Potter fan base.
After "playing" the tutorial for 10 hours. I was out...

@@vidicul9109 its a game, it should be fun, it got repetitive fast, and had a boring story with references I understood but didn't care for. The side quests were more captivating. I had a decent and enjoyable experience playing this game than others, but I would not touch it again. To be fair, I played an old Gen version of the game, though it was optimized for new Gen, so loading screens made me not enjoy it (5 minute loading screens, so boring) , which is unfair to criticize the game on.
@@bearpoop720 true, I feel like it’s more of a one play kinda game, most ppl aren’t gonna touch it after they finish it bc it’s just boring half the time. And that makes sense, I played on next gen version so loading screens were barely there, but the game still definitely has its problems. Way more things they could’ve added to make it more interesting/fun.

Yea i played it for the first 2 weeks and just stopped.. i was literally falling asleep during the long talking cutscenes its just the same thing over and over.. and arena is boring too just spamming the attack button over and over is soo boring
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one falling asleep during the dialogue in this game. There just way too much for no reason especially if there is no impact to anything you choose to say. I look up “hogwarts legacy is boring” and I see so many people agree. Glad I’m not the only one.
That teacher chick is hot tho but the game does feel like its for kids more. We need a darker tone

The classes didnt make you feel enveloped, the quests were redundant fetch and help quests from people your character never met before. The cutscenes that did happen were pretty, but then faded to a lacklust follow up gameplay. The skill menu is kinda hard to fluently swap and time rotations, as ESO and others did even better. It just missed a TON of stuff that we all loved and wanted from the movies and books. 5/10 for the looks.

The world is empty. It's a series of collection quests with no consequences. It was short and sweet once but has no replayability value.
To me...the gameplay is very point a to z, time consuming and repetitive. Like I get bored after 10 minutes. Every time I finish a few missions I don't play it for several days
For the first time ever in my gaming life this game gave me motion sickness, it's boring, annoying and bland as hell. I knew before I bought it I wouldn't like it. The only thing I do like is my character and cat petting. No matter how simplistic the Harry Potter games are, I swear they have more life in them than this. Will not be buying HL2 if they do a second one that is.

The story is so empty. Most of the time, I am not following it.
You didn’t hit the big points which I think you understand more when you finish the game… the quests… they suck.. the repetition is overwhelming.. they give you the final beasts you need for upgrades right before the final story quest.. too late.. the costumes are cool but could have been even better. but the map isn’t bad.. and the world IS beautiful.. but there could have been so much more. So many more ingredients.. potions.. spells.. and most of all RELATIONSHIPS! You have no real friends.. the only real one turns evil and zonkos.. you can’t buy any trick candy but you can randomly eat some in the homes of villages unlocked way out. It’s as if after they nailed the map and the fighting mechanics, they rushed out a story that was decent but the in between lacked depth.. and the morality of it I still question.. like all games these days it feels like it was such a great game in the beginning and then they rushed to fill it. The absolute worst?? The Merlin trials!

If they would of did what witcher 3 did. Just make more activities and dont have people just standing there standing and starring at space. Have them say lines. 3 lines. It will make the game feel less empty. A lot of potential wasted.

I started playing destiny after like 2 weeks of this. It ok but I got bored quickly. The rooms and everything floating is awesome but I feel like there is a lot of hand holding. The fighting is good but it gets old fast and feels way to easy.
I got bored after just a few hours of playing. All you do is walk around. I will play untill I can get a broom, enjoy that for a bit, and then quit.
I got to the second flying mission and just never played the game again😂

As a guy that doesn't even like Harry Potter, I've had a completely different experience. I love this game. I think the game is more fit for curious minds as opposed to people that just want constant action. I enjoy exploring the world they've created.
