As a cosole player im 100% buying this looks a great MMO! I noticed it has gathering skills kinda reminds me of runescape which ive played since 2005. Feel like this is going to be my next chilled MMO on console.
I bought the DLC, I came in year late after the release because of all of the exploits and bugs and... When I started, the game was in a good state, played it for about 6 months, quit, and now back at it. I have no expectations, however, I want this game to succeed.
I'm so confused about the comment on NW's graphics. The graphical fidelity isn't bad at all(?) Texture resolution is high, polygon count on models are high. Lighting and other VFX are 10/10. The artstyle has a pretty generic medieval look. The devs clearly do not know whether they want to go for a low fantasy or high fantasy style, so they've settled for a mix of both. But beside that, I'm confused.
People sometimes forget how good we actually have it now, ofc the game looks great especially in comparison back then when everything was just 2d and 1 bit pixels
@@Label07 Comparing a MMO with a Single player game doesn't work. The animations are fine, but I agree that the facial movement is stiff, like a Bethesda game. Comparing NWs graphics to a very old MMO like Warhammer online does not make any sense what so ever.
Never had an issue with the games looks, and if you have a good pc and internet you don’t go through as much lag as others claim. The problem is the progression, crafting, endgame, balancing, and customization. Basically you level way to quickly and don’t need to do anything but main quest lines. You’ll never “need” to explore only unlock key points - Theme park not an rpg. Crafting takes a lot of time and a lot of rediculous time gated mechanics, which mixed with RNG makes crafting your own gear almost not worth doing since you’ll be level 60 crafting level low level gear for the majority of your play time. Most content in the endgame can’t be done using certain weapon types and most people won’t allow you in the party with weapons like blunderbuss, ice gaunt. Simply because they arnt very effective vs other weapons. Also going with a focus build lock you into a healer role and can’t use any weapon other than void gauntlet. End game is very boring since only a few doingeons can be done durning that week as a nightmare version, then the only other thing your doing is PvP or chest runs which is very boring imo.
You might have some initial fun but Amazon games are like an ex wife the sex might be good at the start but they will rip your heart out and not give 2 shits after they take all your money
If you are a brand new player or haven’t played in a long time I really think you are in for a treat. PC players are upset with the devs and game, and while it is justified, the game is also in a great spot for a new audience.
Respec is free up until a certain level/skill point unlock, but even when it costs it's not that much though it'll add up if you run a different spec for every type of activity. Weapon points can be respecced for free up to a certain point and then it costs Azoth, which is really easy to get anyway.
I agree about F2P being a better decision especially for those who just want to check out if game is worth it. Amazon could copy GW2, WoW or FF14 approach where "FREE" works as trial period. And if Amazon are scared about sales - they could make it little bit more restrictive in terms of free trial (like WoW does compared to more user friendly way of GW2 or FF14 when it comes to trying out game for free)
This is how everyone needs to approach the game now. Think of it as a new release. If amazon still doesn't deliver after the console launch then this games dead af. But if they play the roadmap card after and add a real end game the games going to take off. Because the core game is very good.
That movement and combat are somethings i've been looking for for a long time. I don't mind the visuals. I enjoy the palette and animations more than it's actual graphical fidelity. I do wish the combat sounds and facial animations could be enhanced.
@@NiGHT5043WiND Might just be a me thing but coming from soulslikes that has visceral and violent sfx, nw sfx kinda sounds like beating small sticks as opposed to hearing the violent impact of a full swing. @@bigtvds You think they'd change it at this stage...remember how long, how many posts, and outcry it took for them to revert the musket to projectile from hitscan. its for console players, also its body shots only not headshots, i dont know about you but missing shots and skills all the time sucks. i played all weekend and i can tell you this was the general consensus from ther pvpers doing open world pvp. the lock on made it more fun for everyone. so before you knock it. try it. this will allow way more players to actually have fun and stay in the game. also im a day one player, 1500hrs, over 5k pvp kills. i like it and i hope it stays
FYI the only substantial difference between the Aeternum release and the current game is the cutscenes and more immersive main story quest I believe. All the mechanics and everything else has been updated and expanded over the past 3 years and it's pretty much not getting changed with Aeternum.
It seems they’ve also committed to raid content being the end game. 725 GS is only achievable through pvp, the 20 man worm raid, or the new 10 man raid dungeon they are adding with this update.
FF14 online Realm Reborn. nuff said. the game is great and you’ll easily get your moneys worth out of it. play through it once and maybe do the endgame loop for 15 hours, then close the game until they release new content. the game died originally because they never released new content for months, on top of the fact that the game launched in a buggy unfinished state. If realm reborn and destiny 2 taught me anything, it’s that you can fix games, you can make them better, and people will come back eventually.
lvling up your character was always fun in NW but there was no endgame other than looting chests once a day so i hope they did something about that too. i may give it another try if it will be available for ppl with only base game.
Played it for years and they finally added group finder for dungeons but I had quit a little after because every server was dead. Sad because I bought it on release, took breaks in between the years and just gave up after small things that I would consider a great deal to myself starting with character creation. They would not let us change appearence for the last 3 or 4 years its been out which was dumb asf, not to mention you play as a human "only" in a so called fantasy world.
Telling me the world, story, characters, quests, and environments aren't great is an awful way to get me interested in this game. That's what I care about the most. It's the same reason why I stopped playing WoW (good lore, but bad story) and most MMOs. Very few put in as much work as 14 does for story.
I Was Honestly Kinda Hyped For This Game But Lately I've Been Really Second Guessing My Decision To Finalize The Purchase! My Backup Option Was Diablo IV Vessel of Hatred So I'm Gonna Probably End Up Getting That Instead.
Hard to judge New World without trying to understand crafting at all, I'd say. It's a big element of the game and can give you a huge advantage if you can craft yourself customized gear with exactly the stats/perks/buffs you need. Even the food allows you to run specialized buffs. Hell, even the furniture leads to trophies and more buffs. Every single crafting skill leads to more power for your character. Now, of course those who can't stand crafting can try to find things off the trading post... or if you are in a company, rely on the crafters in there to make what you need. A good company always has good crafters on their side. But the point I'm making here is that even if a player doesn't personally touch crafting, they should understand the part it plays in building their character. You might not do the crafting yourself... but you will want to take advantage of the results.
IM GONNA PLAY THE SHIT OUT OF THIS. Im an osrs player with about 8000hrs under my belt. This whole game seems and feels like a modern day runescape. Will be playing this on a 4080super with controller.
The game feels extremely like RuneScape to me, which i payed one summer with a great friend of mine...i seen the game years ago but it was only on PC, yes i do think its genuinely a great game to play and get lost in and have so much fun.yes i think its worth 70 bucks
the biggest issue with new world is lack of endgame. I think we need to wait and see what the future roadmap has on it because. people have been waiting so long for endgame and it never came. for console players starting this is irrelevant but now that console is out which obviously is why we havnt gotten content hopefully the endgame stuff is now gonna be pumped out.
I'm hopeful that the console crossplay will have a big impact on playerbase, especially since not that many real MMOs are available for console, which naturally will draw console players looking for a full fledged MMO but that don't wanna get a PC.
AGS is known for being confusing and miscommunication. They don't explain things well when they try and sometimes not at all. As a New World player with thousands of hours, I have seen and heard it all. The game is great and has come a really long way. AGS has regular videos they put out and they try to stay in touch with their community but sometimes things fall on deaf ears. We wanted more content, more end-game and the next update they added music and the ability to play instruments. It's just stuff like that. They are a newer dev team and working things out so I keep the faith
if the Art visuals (not style) bug you, then you’ll be glad to know Brimstone Sands, Elysian Wilds, and from what i’ve seen the new PvP island, all look completely different from this. Especially elysian wilds, weird trees, plants, massive mobs and animals, etc.
I agree with some of the points he said in the video but the art style and environment design is one of the best parts of the game in my opinion, but each to their own, other than that I agreed with most of what he said, great video!
The controller also has a larger hitbox than M&K with range weapons like the bow. If I shoot just past the opponent with the mouse, the shot misses and with the controller it hits in the same position
It gives me ESO-esque vibes visually. Animations look a little wonky, but im actually trying to get interested in it, yet this is likely a game you NEED to play to get a proper impression of. Some games look bland but play great, and vice versa. But, its a pay to play title so i remain on the fence, and its history isnt pretty, so that fence is pretty high. I played the game and played the beta and it was fun. I see no problem with the game. But I played multiple games per week. So not going to just play one game. Not going to compare this game with others because all games are different. I just appreciate the developers who make these games exist and I can play them.
In regards to the story: Character models are too plastic/unexpressive for the cinematics imo...which makes it hard to get into the story. When they do try to make them smile or show emotion it looks odd and distorted. There are also some extreme voices that annoy rather than amuse because you never get a chance to know them. The story is at least a lot better than it was...connects a lot of dots that were missing before. Of all the characters I remember Yonas, he had a cool personality, voice, character model, and even backstory. For me the world, combat and crafting are top notch though...love it and it allows me to overlook flaws.
If we go tab target in new world than just dont waste your money, go and play Throne and Liberty. New game + Tab target + f2p + more content in pve and pvp AND the devs bringing updates patches content whatever really fast. So the future of TnL looks much briighter
It's just an attempt to make some money before they throw in the towel for good. First 50-100 hours have always been fun, past that and you start to see the problems. Because of that the game will see again, it's inevitable end with player numbers dropping. They revamped the part of the game was already OK, and haven't dealt with the serious issues (endgame, bugs, dupes, bots etc.) Between the original beta and launch I have 500 hours (sure a big chunk of that was waiting for the login servers), I see no reason to return or give them any more money.
As I started watching I thought this was going to be sponsored, but then you talked about things being 'trash' and I thought, "Oh this is legit." :) Glad I stuck around post-Overwatch
I played the absolute crap out of the game. Maxed everything feasible and the like and even went beyond. As a solo you can only do so much, you have to get into one of the factions to be able to really take advantage of the endgame or at least pair up with someone. I think alot of people don't understand that it's overall a good game, but you won't enjoy it long term unless you can link up with a good squad. FYI for those that want to get money quick, learn gathering. Tons of high end things, need a good gatherer. Good luck out there!
Combat and professions (crafting gathering) are the best in the market. End game was bland as the only big thing the game has is 50vs50 war for territory control, which sounds cool but realistically hard to get into (imagine wow players complaining that is hard to fill 25 raid spots)
I started before the official launch, really enjoyed and loved playing New World. most fun I had playing with a group of people. HOWEVER, new world dev team really needed to revamp the entire world, story, cinematics....i'm sorry, the cinematics and story just terrible lol and tbh, i could forgive both of those if the end game loop was fun but there is no end game...
Honestly man "why do anything?" why enjoy anything? simple because you have no other option you have the option to enjoy something or the option to not. There are subjective and objective differences that typically are driven by either key differences in this game compared to another, which might just be personal preferences, or a lack of emotional intelligence, or subconscious awareness. One guy might like the combat in this while someone else might like bdos combat better. subjective personal preferences. To me it looks like a great game with a bright future but people want to tear it down because of a lack of emotional awareness or due to trust issues. The thing is trust is actually a scale, and I think Amazon in regards to this game should have trust and optimism, however people are attacking/questioning that trust and optimism. With insatiable outlandish personal projections of what they want in their ideal mmo rather than enjoy what real people with real jobs decided to attempt as creatively and honestly/earnestly as they could.
People are tearing it down because this game has been out for three years, Millions of people have played it before you. Millions of people have expressed their complaints with the Games direction and nothing changed, instead they decide to go for last minute cash grab with Console players. Instead of attempting to ignoring all the people expressing that you shouldn’t allow yourself to get scammed, understand that this game has an extremely small player-based for a reason on a PC and this revamped has not changed much of any of those reasons. All content creators are saying to play at your own risk in a lack of better words.
@@KINGxINISIDIOUS Maybe those that say you are being scammed are actually getting you to scam yourself of contentment and enjoyment. You will still be able to play the game after New World: Aeternum comes out, you just won't have a mount and access to the DLC/lvl60+ areas. At least that's what Amazon Games stated.
played during launch, got many bug, speed run in 1 hour though prologue part, end up refund the game. now tested the new beta, look and play better but skeptical with the full price later
I have never played this game..I today just bought New World from Steam and am just going through the first 20min.... When this update comes out next month will I get it? Or was I suppose to have bought one of the expansions with the base game? Do I have to pay more money than I already have?
Should check out Throne and Liberty when it comes out. It's another Amazon Games Fantasy MMORPG. Wonder if they've reflected this development in that game?
The world looks nice but I always found the game lacks immersion when everyone runs around as the same guy with maybe a different weapon. No unique races or classes with their own backstory to flesh out the world. GW2 came out over a decade ago and is the better game imo.
From someone who played the game a bunch at launch. This is just a RE LAUNCH/RE BRAND of the game because it’s going cross play putting on consoles. They think the console audience will be bigger than pc 🤷. And it’s no longer an mmo lol. If you want more details you will find a bunch of you to deep dive

Played this game till endgame and they really need to improve it if they want players to stay long-term. The PvP in normal world is almost non-existent and the dedicated PvP gamemodes are absolutely terrible at the current moment. If they decide to completely change the PvP(mainly the wars), I'd consider coming back.
is character creation any different? because it had the worst, most limited character creation menu in a modern day mmo that i've seen and it made it unplayable
to me NW aeternum is NOT worth it because, they dont allow players with disabilites like epilepsy or cerable paulsy (no income) to beta test any of thier games (ever).

Yeah, exactly my thoughts. Maybe combat feels a little different but I sure can't tell from the video. Weapon trees seem to be the same too. Yes, some cut scenes, but at least Stylosa got that part right. Concerning the generic medival look, no, NW always had a couple of different looks that go into ancient history, japanese samurai style or freaky mushroom induced hippy dreams. Not spectacular but usually consistent and well done. But I'll just check it myself in two weeks. The video did not answer my questions what actually changed, but neither did all other Aeternum vids I watched. @@FrankFischell every youtuber who covers Aeternum says the same vague stuff almost like they are reading a script that Amazon games gave them in exchange for sponsorship or something.

Ppl need to develop a brain and thinking skills. Wow and ffxiv started with a base 1-50 lvl system and built up from that with expansion after expansion. New world aeternum is a revamp/new version of the old (pc only) version of new world. Basically, starting from scratch and hopefully building upwards via expansion after expansion like ffxiv and WoW did. I played the beta this past weekend and in the little cookie cutter of map they gave, there where a lot of different areas and no, they don’t all look the same way. I went from 1-17 level zones to 50-60 zones. There were some 65+ levels zones as well. But this was just a cookie cut of the whole game. Most of ppls vids only show the starting level zone. I have over 2000 hours of play from ffxiv and this game feels great. There were some things I didn’t like but there were way more things that I did like. More pros than cons.
talks about switching between weaposns and then parry and dodge while game play looks like same base auto melee combo as he tanks every hit , Nah combat is still bad and pretending weapon swapping is something cool when all it really is like 6 skills the game still lacks a lot in combat. You can get this feel out of many other games and last time I seen the flow did not work to well with all the desync and stuff once you start including other players. People sometimes forget how good we actually have it now, ofc the game looks great especially in comparison back then when everything was just 2d and 1 bit pixels
Take a second look at the character models and animations...they are worse than Bethesda or Mass Effect Andromeda.
Not even? have to played either of those games before
@@Label07 Comparing a MMO with a Single player game doesn't work.
End game is very boring since only a few doingeons can be done durning that week as a nightmare version, then the only other thing your doing is PvP or chest runs which is very boring imo.
just to clarify, 'aeternum' is just a name change for marketing purposes. its the same game just reskinned hud to suit console more
I played 5000 hours can can say it IS going places :)
Jeueuw
@Savvvo hopefully, but endgame hasn't changed at all so what's really different?
You might have some initial fun but Amazon games are like an ex wife the sex might be good at the start but they will rip your heart out and not give 2 shits after they take all your money
There is also more pve
If you are a brand new player or haven’t played in a long time I really think you are in for a treat. PC players are upset with the devs and game, and while it is justified, the game is also in a great spot for a new audience.
"It's incredibly convoluted"
Well, they've got that part of Realm Reborn right
Respec is free up until a certain level/skill point unlock, but even when it costs it's not that much though it'll add up if you run a different spec for every type of activity.
And if Amazon are scared about sales - they could make it little bit more restrictive in terms of free trial (like WoW does compared to more user friendly way of GW2 or FF14 when it comes to trying out game for free)
if you have never played nw you will love it now. 3 years later and the game is at the point it should have been 3 years ago lol
i am planning to buy it on ps5 i hope theres gonna be ton of players
This is how everyone needs to approach the game now. Think of it as a new release. If amazon still doesn't deliver after the console launch then this games dead af.
But if they play the roadmap card after and add a real end game the games going to take off. Because the core game is very good.
only og combat lovers play it atm!
i play every day still love it
That movement and combat are somethings i've been looking for for a long time. I don't mind the visuals. I enjoy the palette and animations more than it's actual graphical fidelity. I do wish the combat sounds and facial animations could be enhanced.
Me personally, I think the sounds and animations of the weapons are really good
@@NiGHT5043WiND Might just be a me thing but coming from soulslikes that has visceral and violent sfx, nw sfx kinda sounds like beating small sticks as opposed to hearing the violent impact of a full swing. But that won't deter me from playing the game. I just thought it would make it more badass. lol
@@Oryyyt agree
AIMbot being tested on PTR no way im coming back
If that auto-lock goes to live AGS will destroy the sole feature that kept this game BARELY alive.
@@bigtvds You think they'd change it at this stage...remember how long, how many posts, and outcry it took for them to revert the musket to projectile from hitscan. They think they know best but each move AGS makes, always another mistake when they should have just shutup and listened to the community.
its for console players, also its body shots only not headshots, i dont know about you but missing shots and skills all the time sucks. i played all weekend and i can tell you this was the general consensus from ther pvpers doing open world pvp. the lock on made it more fun for everyone. so before you knock it. try it. this will allow way more players to actually have fun and stay in the game. also im a day one player, 1500hrs, over 5k pvp kills. i like it and i hope it stays
The console mmo market isn’t vast. They are after console players
@@apoczbugfinder it's vast, they just don't have mmos worth a shit to play yet. They will now
FYI the only substantial difference between the Aeternum release and the current game is the cutscenes and more immersive main story quest I believe.
Thanks for the vid. Definitely agree, as a new player I’m not interested enough to spend the cash on a near full priced game.
lvling up your character was always fun in NW but there was no endgame other than looting chests once a day so i hope they did something about that too. i may give it another try if it will be available for ppl with only base game.
I think they should go for what GW2 did or at least make it free to play up to a certain level if they want to reel in some new players.
Man how fat are you 8000 hours you must not move
Ill wait a bit to see how the game does, then will se if is a buy in
I like a ranger with bow and great sword...very new, never played b4. Doing the pre purchase for xbox today.
Hoping to get a proper itch for it.
Pretty funny all over the place review. "Its good but not that good but I really enjoy it while its all meh but good and the world is well done but generic and bad and good and nice but the movement is good but bad while everything else is ok but not good. I recommend it, but dont play it or buy it but enjoy it and play it but dont..." All right. Got it. Lol
10 player raid. Wow, that's almost a tenth of the playerbase in a single raid that's impressive
Hey Sty! Long time viewer, I was excited to see the algorithm surface you outside my subscription feed to discuss NW.
I had hoped they would implement siege tactics like WH also.

I played the game and played the beta and it was fun. I see no problem with the game. But I played multiple games per week. So not going to just play one game. Not going to compare this game with others because all games are different. I just appreciate the developers who make these games exist and I can play them.
You should get 50 -100 hours out of it. So I would say yes, just expect to find a limited end game that you probably wont like.
To me New World always felt like a scuffed version of Guild Wars 2... only upside, it had better graphics
I really like new worlds atmosphere and art style.
I like this new one a lot.. like you said the combat is good and fun .. and for me the rest is cool chilled back single player :) Peace
@@KINGxINISIDIOUS I like your analysis.
@@KINGxINISIDIOUS Maybe those that say you are being scammed are actually getting you to scam yourself of contentment and enjoyment. It honestly sounds like a majority of gamers are just negative in general. Having studied social media, the algorithms create echo chambers. So people build off of each other in the same direction. in this case its a mass hysteria that every game is out to get your money. when its totally normal for people who work to ask to be paid.
Stylosa will you be trying Throne and Liberty?
No.
I saved you a lot of time and money. You’re welcome.
I don’t care what all the haters say. I played New World since it came out on PC. Prior to that I played WoW since 2004. I’ve been trying WoW again this last week and New World Combat and movement absolutely destroys WoW or any tab target based games.
Loved New World, never picked up the expansion. The game kind of died. Kind of annoyed I have to pick up the expansion just to try this. They should have just rolled it into the main game.
You will still be able to play the game after New World: Aeternum comes out, you just won't have a mount and access to the DLC/lvl60+ areas. At least that's what Amazon Games stated.
I personally think the Faction idea is what ruined the game.
played during launch, got many bug, speed run in 1 hour though prologue part, end up refund the game. now tested the new beta, look and play better but skeptical with the full price later
so i want to try playing NW again, should i play now when i only have the base game or should i wait until aeternum releases
The game is worth it. Definitely a lot of fun.

So i own new world on PC. Am I going to have to re-buy the game?
Not on PC. But you will have to buy it again if you want to play on console. 5here is crossplay but no cross progression.

Played this game till endgame and they really need to improve it if they want players to stay long-term. The PvP in normal world is almost non-existent and the dedicated PvP gamemodes are absolutely terrible at the current moment. If they decide to completely change the PvP(mainly the wars), I'd consider coming back.
they need to open asian server instead of been supercilious. they new the game is dying but they never seen to know or want to open other server
is character creation any different? because it had the worst, most limited character creation menu in a modern day mmo that i've seen and it made it unplayable
to me NW aeternum is NOT worth it because, they dont allow players with disabilites like epilepsy or cerable paulsy (no income) to beta test any of thier games (ever).
i hate mutated drops, artifact, and bis gear from crafting easy.

Free 2 play is a troll fest. It doesn't work out. I can name like 2 games that are decent with f2p Warframe, and the first descendant. I'm not sure why you keep going on,and on about it being buy2play. That is the best business model. I'm so glad it's not f2p,and have spam bots in chat trying to sell crap. Or farming bots like back in the day with new world. You also mention that there plenty of other mmos out there people are playing. Not sure where you been, but we have had the same mmorpgs for the past few decades. Nothing new has been coming out, or being reinevative so not sure where you are going with people have plenty of other stuff to play. There hasn't been a whole lot of cool games being released this year. Lot of what you are saying makes little sense.
No game is worth buying when it isn't complete and fully released... only suckers pay for an unfinished product...
Every f***ing youtuber ever: "Aeternum is miles better than New World! It's so different"
Also every youtuber: *rambles on 20 mins without telling you WHAT is actually different or better, while showing you footage that looks exactly the f***ing same as the current New World......*
If you don't know what is actually different, don't make a f***ing video about it.
Seems like You Tubres don't really know the games they play any more.
@@FrankFischell every youtuber who covers Aeternum says the same vague stuff almost like they are reading a script that Amazon games gave them in exchange for sponsorship or something.
Last comment, sorry - The Vets aren't really mad about the changes except the dev time spent prioritizing all of this leveling experience/storytelling stuff rather than developing the endgame.
IMO someone like Stylosa would really enjoy this game a lot once he gets into the endgame pvp stuff.
Hides pupils, speaks insanely fast, cackles like a mad person...little birdy says "tweak tweak tweak"
More pros than cons.
playing eq2 was amazing will never forget og venekor
The skill tree is lacking and does not seem like it will get better or they will add anything new
As an experienced player, do not recommend. It's not worth buying for the inevitable disappointment the AGS Devs will bring.
will the old new world going to be wiped?
talks about switching between weaposns and then parry and dodge while game play looks like same base auto melee combo as he tanks every hit , Nah combat is still bad and pretending weapon swapping is something cool when all it really is like 6 skills the game still lacks a lot in combat. You can get this feel out of many other games and last time I seen the flow did not work to well with all the desync and stuff once you start including other players. I don't even play either of them anymore but still looks like Black Desert combat is still better for action combat. Oh well, welcome to the same cycle Bless did can't wait to see what new version New World will release next year or so
