New World should label the game as FREE the first 20 levels and 60$ after that. They would get so many more potential players that way. The start of NW is pretty good
why would they give the best part of the game for free? the end game sucks in this game. it's not ff14 where you can do 1-60 and still have the best parts of the game behind paywall. NW gives a free trial, people just won't bother to pay.
@@farguc ppl wont bother with a game that has mostly negative reviews. Are you telling me you want ppl to pay 60$ just to regret it after they hit lvl21? Lmfao you must be related to Kotick, take your little gremlins and go back to the stock market.

I'm just happy to have 2 MMOs come to the console!!!!! We have been needing new MMOs 💯. Now that we have new MMOs on consoles that seem to be decent it will make a bigger competitive market on console and will help bring us even more BETTER MMO games. Definitely playing both but I'm leaning towards NW.
Got NW on pc and Throne on ps5, don't like how throne limits my farming of dungeons each day. Not keen on how the gear system works either, drop rates are poor and then is the case of getting the right triats.... is alot that Throne does that is annoying just so they can prolong the game. However if the removed the limits to farming and sorting out the drop rates and the don't mean for epic gear I mean for items like Salt!!!! Would prob enjoy it alot more but the grind is just crazy. NW is less forgiving in this. Personally I will prob continue to play both as they both offer different things that I enjoy and fills a gap while I wait for other games
@@whocaresreallywho2464 it's a spiritual sequal to Lineage2, a game that is pretty much a poster child for korean grind mmos. The hardcore players of the game wanted L2 with better graphics. Thats what TL is.
If you like an MMO that allows you to relax and enjoy beautiful graphics, beautiful sound, and one of the best gathering/crafting systems I've played in an MMO play New World. If you enjoy time min/maxing builds, really grinding for gear, and being sweaty in PVP, choose Throne and Liberty. Both are very fun in their own rights.
NW is as sweaty as soulslike PvP which is closer to a fighting game with it's tight hitbox and based approach. They're both sweaty only in different ways.
@@DarrenExplorz It's ayt. I just meant it as a general sentiment. But NW has the convenience of flagging up so ow pvp is not a problem if you're not into it.
Im not gonna lie, pay for a game is cool Getting me to play your free to play to ***** me in the *** down the line and trying to make me pay 10 000 bucks to enjoy the late game (that you'll get to in a day or two Btw) is INSANITY And no you cant grind, guild and scammers will make sur of that
Yeah, from the looks of these 2 mmorpg, *New World* looks to be more quality , they should really let the base vanilla game be F2P and pay for expansion. They would up their player .
played about 1700 hrs in NW and im at about 70 in TL... ill be leveling up again in NW. TL was fun for the time, but NW IMO has come a long way. crafting and weapon specialization is alot more fun and forgiving.
For me - and Ive played 6k+ hours on NW, and been on T&L for a few months Korea and now release - its NW hands down. T&L is a nice grind to 50, but boring as hell once you get to 50, and not really alot of things to do. Just my 2 cents.
What? NW's end game is War and OPR (and expedition leaderboard? bad, but okay) while TL's end game has siege, 2 different GVG, interserver GVG, worldboss conflict, arena leaderboard, -- and after that, you'll have challenge dungeon, dungeon leaderboard etc.. Just what are you talking about. NWs only good part is their combat system, anything else is trash. Combat even getting dragged by their desync from 10/10 score to 6/10 at max.
@@mouseinatrap1120 T&L’s end game are different versions of GvG. Both these games severely lack in end game content. But I would say NW has more to do. T&L doesn’t really have much pve content. Also, you mention leaderboards for T&L for end game, but fail to mention that NW has leaderboards for all that you mentioned. Dungeons, arenas, etc.
played new world 3 years ago, now just waiting for aeternum to drop. played TL and bought early release, but game systems just don't do it for me lol. so excited for the NW redrop
I have more faith in the producers of guildwars and lineage. The game is semi disappointing by those same qualifications but they have been listening. I have alot of friends that play BDO and went to throne because it feels like they actually want to earn our time on their game. It's genuinely built around having a player base so if they piss off the community the game is dead. Which explains the delay and fixing their stuff before releasing it to us. They've done alot in a short time, and for the overall development time you can really see it. This game has alot going for it and is certainly larger scale hand crafted than a bragged game of different genre like starfield.
6:35 - No - as of Season 4 Gems update, the full weapon will now scale with Focus; though they did nerf the scale rate from 80% to a 65% rate (55% rate if you use the gem casing) if your Focus is high enough. So healers (or more accurately, Focus builds) can effectively use any weapon decently enough with an Amber or Sapphire Gem attached to it. They will never give Focus healers more damage output than someone with dedicated primary scaling, but they can at least get somewhere respectable.
It is pretty simple and based on combat. TL's combat feels floaty, light and anemic; New World's action combat is high enjoyable. For me, New World all day.
@@B1u35kyI did. The skills feel and sound impactful but it's too rng reliant and not really hitbox/percision based for the most part and the q block/dodge is too unreliable in pvp. Takes the thrill out of it. NW's Soulslike percision based approach is just more thrilling imo.
@@Oryyyt it’s an rpg of course there is RNG. As for “souls like” New World is not souls like and now that it has aim lock the skill ceiling has been destroyed.
@@B1u35ky lol sounds like you haven't played soulslikes if you can't see the clear influence. The hits and misses arent decided by rng bs. Critical and passives sure but anything that visually connects will connect. And everything has a percise hitbox even projectiles, so even when hardlocked(also a soulslike mechanic)you can still maneuver through them with skill. NW is the only mmo rn where you can outskill a max lvl scrub while naked.
Guys when you put into perspective that T&L is a FREE game which released with MORE content than New World as a full priced MMO, I could go on forever on how this blows NW out of the water. There was new content relased within the FIRST week, and more scheduled within the first month.. The ONLY down side for me is the ping. I have levelled completely F2P and with the battlepass, and its really just a convenience factor. We act like G2G doesnt exist in NW and isnt punished whatsoever. Whales will always find a way to P2W. All that being said, if T&L had NW's combat, it would probably be the best modern-era MMO hands down. IT EVEN HAS GLITCH-FREE DOORS!
When you say "blows NW out of the water" I'm not really sure it does. They are both MMO's so you are going to assume people will put many hours into these so paying full price is more than fine for most people
I really want to try New World when it releases with my friends, but convincing them to pay the $60 up front is tough. The best thing about Throne and Liberty is that it’s free and well-polished. I have a guild of 8 people, all of whom I know in real life. They’ve all gotten addicted and are grinding the game hardcore. It would've been extremely hard to convince them to hop on if the game had a $60 entrance fee. I love this game because it got my friends interested in MMO games, which they would’ve never touched before.
Throne and Liberty ruined New world for me and here's why: 1) You can't use both weapons' skills simultaneously without switching. There are only 6 skills that you use from the two weapons in New World, but you have to think about it in terms of two sets of 3 because you have to use a buffer key to switch the weapon to use an ability from the other set. Throne and Liberty has 6 skills from each weapon (each weapon has 12 skills to choose from but you have a hotbar for 12 skills) for a total of 12 and you can use all 12 regardless of which weapon you have equipped. 2) Amount of weapon abilities and skill add-ons. Throne and liberty has massively more choices here. 3)The running animation in NW is really cartoon-like. The character excessively raises their arms and legs as they run and it makes me feel like I'm in a kids cartoon when I run. Try looking at your character run with the camera being on the side of your character to emphasize and you'll see what I mean. TnL movement looks much more aesthetically pleasing. 4) There is a movement delay in NW that isn't present in TnL. When you start running or try to change direction drastically the character has to "wind down" and slows down before running again. I suppose they tried to make it more realistic but it feels bad in the game to move when they make these mechanics. Fluid gameplay movement > realism imo. 5) Mounts. This is what made me quit NW both of the times I tried playing it. These should be in the base game and not behind a DLC pay wall. I understand that they have to be compensated for putting updates into a live service game but mounts are mandatory in a game where you move fairly slow when you run. I got to the point of dreading going to another town because I'd have to run there. (And yes, I know you can teleport. That doesn't defeat the point). 6) This one is probably more opinion based than the other points but the UI looks cleaner to me in TnL. 7) Teleporting. It takes half the time to channel the teleport in TnL and there is no loading screen after! 8) Swimming wasn't originally in NW, but was added with this update. It's slow and you swim with short bursts of speed. TnL had it from day one of release and it's a lot more fluid. Pun intended. 9) Character customization is insanely better in TnL. I am the type to spend a good hour or two customizing my character and I can get the perfect one in TnL. 10) Graphics are much more impressive in TnL. The world looks beautiful and Aeternum pales in comparison. 11) Cosmetics are a lot better in TnL as well, be it weapon skins or outfits for your character. 12) Leveling is painfully slow and not really enjoyable in NW (at least for me). And then once you are done there's not a whole lot to do. In TnL getting to max level is a breeze, and that's when the game REALLY starts and kicks into high gear with the content. On a side note, props to NW on not being pay to win though I did a quick Google search and found 3rd party sites that sell gold for NW so idk. Also switching your two main weapons (if you change your mind) is deffo better in NW, so that's a plus for them. Combat was better in NW UNTIL they added the aim lock, which removed skill expression and dumbed it down so it's essentially same tab target as TnL. Those are my two cents on this topic.
What’s killing it for me is the ally targeting system in T&L feels clunkier and you cannot heal randoms u find in the overworld that are doing events if they’re not in a group with you or in a guild allied with yours. :(
@@Heavenly_Heal Everyone has differently ranked priorities for things they enjoy in video games. If you value that highly, and don't care about the things I mentioned, you won't enjoy T&L as much as I do over NW. Stick with what you value most.
still throne and liberty more popular 1 months after ... new world player disapeared after 2 weeks throne and liberty more popular too thanks to console
His metric for dungeons was loot... Not even gameplay styles and experience. The dugneons in T&L are hollow and pissbaby easy. The Bosses in T&L all have cheap gimmick mechanics that lead to wipes where you have to watch a video or have someone explain it. Nw is more intuitive, feels more like LoZ or Dark Souls Classic.
One thing that's left out of this is dev interaction to the player base. NW does do dev blogs, but they have a bad track record for not listening to their player base, sometimes back talking player comments, and not being able to interpret their own data within context. T&L immediately made changes after Korean backlash, and worked on player requested changes from beta. NW player treatment is also part of why its player base crashed so hard.
I just played TnL and it got boring fast. Got two characters to 50. I played 30 hours of NW and got a few characters to 30. Im already wanting to play New World again. It was just more fun.
yeah wait till you hit max level and have literally nothing to go for in the endgame :D the leveling experience in New World is one of the best of its genre but it literally has no endgame
baggins man i was bit late for launches and couldn't decide what to play, when i write "throne and liberty vs new world aeternum" on youtube i was hopeless then your video pop off cheers..
Hard disagree on the PVP... if you get in the right guild in New World, it's extremely organized with 50v50 wars. There's usually one shotcaller in a voice channel for the whole war, and then smaller groups split up in micro coms, every group has a specific comp and a specific role. The Throne PVP sounds like a big unorganized zergfest
@@God_Zeni I'm more disagreeing with the idea that it's not organized on New World. We literally had a discord for war-wide shotcalling coms, and teamspeak with mini coms both for 5-man groups to work together individually with heals etc. and even 10-15-man groups to work together to accomplish the objectives. I don't think it could be more organized if you tried... therefore I disagree that T&L is more organized because you cannot be more organized than a well-run 50-man war in New World. I'm in a Company where we've literally been planning for 3 weeks what we will do on day one when Aeternum launches... all focused on pvp.
@@SomeGuyFromUtah Check out Kanon's videos on TnL's Korean server sieges. Your opinion might change. They have shot callers for each specific guild who relay information to the other guilds. They've also split the guilds into 6-man parties as well. It’s kind of crazy how they’ve organize a 200+ man siege.
@@God_Zeni That's impressive for sure! I don't of any other games with anything on that scale. I personally did not enjoy T&L myself, but it definitely sounds like sieges may be more than a zerg fest as I initially assumed (mostly based off my experience in ESO and maybe drawing some false assumptions)
I was wondering if something like this existed, do you know what the setting was called? I messed with mine too much cause im not familiar with tab target at all
@@wiznz3659 it's under controls first option select action instead of classic, then under target set it to auto lock nearest target and mouse over target lock. Also might want to look at target priority in this mode. Hope that helps.
The action combat of T&L is not comparable to NW. It's just the difference of having a mouse cursor all the time and holding right mouse to turn around (classic) vs. turning around without holding right mouse and pressing a key to get one temporarily. The base mechanic of choosing targets by tab or click and then everything hits automatically (minus a few auto misses based on ingame stats) will stay the same. Just classic MMO. Nothing wrong with it, but not really "action".
@@PterAntlo you can also auto target nearest enemy or mose over enemies to lock on. There are also target priority settings .It's not true action combat no you are always locked to a target regardless, if you want to attack that target.
I really wanted to like ToL, but after putting a lot of time in the game it’s just not holding me like I was hoping. Once NW is out I’ll be back on that.
The biggest factor IMO is like you mention the roadmap. NWA has a grim future IMO with maintenance mode for the rest of its lifespan likely being the future. Where as T&L is new and hasn’t disappointed us for 3 years straight. Plus the Devs for T&L are going to want to capitalize on the current hype so the potential for it getting better is higher, idk just my take.
My biggest problem with both NWA and TL is the limitation on dungeons you can do a week/day. It just makes it feel like you're forced to wait. Im fine with lower drop rates, but you can do the dungeons as many times as you want. Right now, all im doing is jumping on for a couple hours on Monday or Tuesday, then not jumping back on till the following week

Checkiut global chat as soon as game launches, PC vets. frothing at their mouths to bash NW. And now they have the nerve to try and get rid of lock-on? grow up this is a console game now yall had your chance

New to MMO, I am trying out TnL just to get familiar with mechanics and upgrades etc. Its fun but man its very overwhelming with the UI and Upgrades. What I do like about it is the Face creation customization compared to NW. I already preordered NWA for the PS5. Can't wait to dive in!
Endgame progression is the single biggest problem in New World... Always has been an issue in some way or another. I think the content they've added makes it a solid product except for the gearing system.
@@bazzamushYou’re comparing a 3 year old game with a one week old game. The fact that NW still has ass end game means the developer are either complacent or incompetent. I will bet on Korean devs that are way more familiar with MMORPG to surpass NW in a few months
I keep hoping they figure it out. I'll take anything over p2w garbage. Imo they should take a page out if destiny's playbook for gear score. Destiny has its own style of problems but the progression wasn't ever at the top of the list that I can think of.
New World has awesome end game content with no reason to do it once you grab the artifact. There needs to be some type of system in place to keep the content fresh and useful. Crazy they haven't figured it out yet with all the other games out there who have.
@EstellammaSS that's fair. I'm not hating on TL. What I am saying is right at this moment in time new world is way ahead and therefore i will be playing that.
The time to figure out what weapon combo and build do you wanna play is right at the beginning of the game when they give you a complete set one of every weapon you can literally you get four unlocked abilities and by the way every weapon, I’ve used the first floor abilities. Those abilities are gonna stay with you all the way to endgame you’re gonna keep using them. They’re gonna become your most Used abilities and you’re in your bread-and-butter damage abilities are in that first floor so you can get a really good idea by changing out your weapons and trying each combo of weapons before you start leveling before you put any effort into the game spent two or three hours killing crustaceans or something trying out different weapon combos seeing what you like and what you don’t.
Day and night cycle for pvp sounds like an excellent idea. Why didnt new world copy that idea? Then pvpers get the rule the night and the carebears can gather during the day and craft during night time
It's baffling to me that one of the most popular super-server games Albion Online has not been copied in traditional mmo format ;l . Different zones with different resources clearly labeled out for pvp'ers and pve'ers and even if you pve you can still go to those pvp places with protection or groups and gather/do bosses.
Bugs aside, I feel like new world is definitely going to be more hardcore casual friendly, you know, for the people who still take their mmorpg seriously but don't have the time to commit to scheduled content. especially since they seem to be making more content solo friendly. Throne gave me the feeling like I'd need to commit much more time/grind, have to guild for larger portions of content. I do like the way throne looks from gear to environment but I prefer the new world combat feel and I prefer the simple progression system in new world over the various things to level in throne.
Have been playing T&L am level 50 and it just got too complicated (for me.) There's so many materials for leveling and then figuring in traits, dissolving, paper and ink and what to do with all the stuff that's collected? Kind of took the fun out. End game builds being a healer weren't too intuitive (to me) So I'm hoping New World is a little better in making it not so complicated and getting you to just play instead of min/maxing every detail. I understand some people like that and that's good there's an option for them. Me? Just not so much.
There’s only two healing weapons in thrown in liberty and one of them is more of a utility healing weapon. Can’t really I mean if you queue up with a long bow as the healer you’re going to get kicked from the group because you can’t heal the team properly with that you can, however, naturally without even tryingand utility heels, nobody’s going to give you a hard time for having a long bow as a DVS or even as your back weapon on a tank, but if you queue up with a long bow, you’re only met that a healing as a healer you will most likely get kicked from the team
T&L is pretty fun up until endgame, then you gotta join the leading large alliance that's running the server or the game turns boring for you. I feel NW is a bit more fun all around for soloers & groupers, with a slightly more interesting combat.
So there is really a problem for "solo" type playing in endgame ?( heard it couple times already and only invested like 4-5 hours in TnL but sounds frustrating :(
@danikmoroz2328 yeah your drop efficiency goes to the floor in Throne and liberty without a group. I've played over 60 hours and hit 50 a week ago. It's still fun but don't expect to be progressing consistently solo.
I have around 50 hours in T&L, and lategame is a bit frustrating. It feels I am constantly chasing just increasing my CP, praying for drops and repeating the same dungeons endlessly. I hate pvp so I only do PVE, and in my opinion it's felt flat.
IIRC Throne and Liberty UI is changed by exporting to a file, editing that file and then importing it into the game. Some streamers have done that to, for example, m ove the health/mana bar to the bottom-center of the screen (slightly below the player)
The much more intricate collection/lifeskilling/refining/crafting system of NW, its action combat and the player-based market make it a clear winner for me. Without talking about the horrible pay-to-win system in T&L.
I agree. I prefer NW.I love the active block in tanking and the action combat. The world feels more alive to me. I just could not resonate with TnL after 30hrs on kr servers. But TnL p2w is exaggerated. After spending about $1500 you still will get owned by people. And a f2p player can still catch up to you w/o spending a dime. A lot of people are enjoying it and realize they are not getting owned by p2w folks.
You’re partially corrected in and partially wrong if you’re playing a healer, you want hundred percent have to speak into wisdom and you should spec into dexterity for the grid heels the wisdom because most of the healers abilities have long cool down and you need that wisdom to knock that cool down down a bit And likewise every weapon combo has specific stats that work best with it if you’re going into great sword, do you want strength if you’re going into daggers or bows you want DAX you want credits for daggers and bows. Do you want heavy tax with great swords you also want perception with your daggers and I mean with your bowsany of your rain shit you want perception if you can get it, your skills may not directly scale off of your stats, but there are definitely 100% stats that improve your build based on what skills you have.
Great video! I agree with almost everything you said. However, I'd like to make one correction regarding your points on progression. You mentioned that you're more of a solo player and therefore prefer New World, and yes, it's true that some items in Throne and Liberty are locked behind guild content. But if you dive a bit deeper into the game, you'll notice that the beauty of Throne and Liberty lies in its gearing and progression systems. There are so many different viable builds...everyone plays a class differently, and you have countless possibilities for upgrading your items to perfectly match your playstyle. While it's true that certain items are inaccessible to solo players because they're locked behind world bosses, the possibilities for your build are still endless! From my point of view, progression is actually one of the weakest aspects of New World and is by far the best in Throne and Liberty. However, the biggest reason I stopped playing New World is the incompetence of the developers. Listening to them talk somehow makes me angry. In contrast, when you compare them to the Throne and Liberty developers, you'll notice they have a clear understanding of what they are saying and doing. Their ability to modify existing features or implement new ones is impressive...just look at what they've changed since the game's release one year ago. But I do miss the combat system from New World. :(
ditto, so much more variation in TnL. the meta list is completely wrong here. My bro would, being firestaff since day dot can testify firestaff is not meta , gets booted from group runs. @baggins also mentions solo while the best gear comes from raids .. solo you cant do that. !!. (seen all baggins videos on grouping raiding constantly so not sure why his change all of a sudden.. is baggins going solo only in expansion ? I think not.
Some differences that you didn't mention: New World you need to switch to the weapon to use the abilities. T&L you can use the ability for the other weapon without swapping weapons. More content also unlocks in T&L when the server completes milestones. This includes new areas, new dungeons and new events until all milestones are complete. New World the content is already there, you just need to progress to get into it. T&L Boss mechanics are mostly forgiving. If you lose one person in your party, you can still complete the boss. There's no enrage timer. New World, you lose someone you might have to restart the boss fight because you don't have enough damage to beat the boss before the enrage timer. T&L there's no durability or PvE penalties on death. New World, equipment has durability. T&L has open world dungeons contracts that you can complete which are separate from the daily contracts. They give you pouches that have a chance to give you an epic piece of gear and those pouches will give you additional open world dungeon contracts. The tokens for these open world dungeons increase item drop rates, exp and gold by 400% and can be obtained from completing other activities like contracts, public events and co-op dungeons.
TnL also has somewhat Action Combat - u can freely choose between classic and this one. Most of the skills still require to select a target rather with mouse or Tab and be in necessary skill range to use it. So it's clunky, but still. NW combat system ofc way much better over any other and has no alternatives still.
Not true, Throne is dying in Korea so it's a matter of time they start bringing less and less content with more p2w to get the most of their money, while NW have spend a lot of money on this relaunch, with new quality cinematics, dubs and etc. I'm pretty sure NW have a bright future if the players give them a chance
@@Zheinet TL and NW will always have their core community but the hype month(s) new new content comes out will always make it seem better then it is and then players will move on, they get easily bored and when they realize the core community is majorly sweats, elitist players or close bounded friends group the mass will move on to next game or go back to another that they have nostalgia from.
Both. NW is my favorite but I will run out of the new content quickly. TL is boring combat, but nice world to explore and it's better than nothing, since there are no other new MMOs....
EXACTLY. Completely negated the whole action combat appeal that drew me to it. If you don’t have to aim how different is it really from tab target? Hope those on console enjoy it
Thrown in liberty‘s block doesn’t have shit to do with stamina you can block over and over again. The Koval is very short and it’s based on cool downs. If you’re cool down hasn’t expired you can’t block it as you can and it doesn’t have anything to do with your stamina, rolling rolling sprinting some of those things do have to do with your stamina
NW definitely feels more chill to me, you can spend 1000 of hours just crafting and there seems to be less pointless grind, especially for a solo player. No need to sweat every gear upgrade or drop in NW. I have been enjoying TnL but I have spent half my time following guides on upgrades and ability rotations. In NW I just jump in and have fun.
Exactly any two weapons can be played together, but there are weapon combinations that are way more effective due to stat distribution so there are going to be mad us and there are some things you can use like in your off hand that you don’t care about the stats you’re only using it for one or two thingssometimes only off the passes
I think it's worth pointing out since New World is not a tab target MMO, the pvp system would not work correctly unless the body sizes were the same. Otherwise any pvp player would just make themselves as small as possible.
Literally as someone that has thousands of hours in multiple MMO's and has max crafting and gathering in all of them... like 6 major MMO's ... the ONLY one I enjoy fishing in is NW ... that says something right there.
I feel like you should have brought up that if you’re behind the power curve in throne and liberty you will NEVER see a world boss drop as they are performance based. The same people on each server will keep getting those boss drops which are BIS and people who play fun builds rather than meta builds will only have the option to buy their BIS from the real money currency AH
From what I've seen about T&L it reminds me of Neverwinter and I quit playing that. You also forgot to mention the "tagging" system for drops in the public dungeons that only allow the first person to attack a target to get drops from them.
I play both and NW and T&L and New World is the better game by far, both games struggle with the end game but New World has a better balanced end game IMO, also the gameplay and combat in NW feels MILES better than TL its so much more fluid and fun its something TL has tried to improve last few months but its sadly still not there.
NW. I love Soulslikes and Action rpgs. Always wanted an MMO with that kind of action combat. BDO is too over the top and scuffed in group pvp, I don't want to play as a god with super speed/teleportation and terraforming attacks. Vindictus and tera are also dead. Tried TnL to max lvl cause they say combat gets better then. And yeah it's a hard pass for me.

Both games have alot of pros and cons. I played NW from the launch, quit and went back a few times. The biggest problem with NW is it's lack of anything to do at end game. All I could do was craft and apply to wars that ended up being more Lord of the Flies with hundreds of toxic kids and that's not gonna change with the new spin on the game. TnL has issues as well but at least it does PvP better and feels more fun to me, but that may be the euphoria of a new game too, we'll see as time goes by. TnL has alot of issues with instability of servers and other issues but for now TnL wins for me, but that's likely because I've already played the $#$#@@! out of NW in the last few years and TnL feels fresh and new.
You’re you’re confusing the conversation here it doesn’t matter what weapon you have in your hand more strength means more health. It also means more heavy attack damage amongst other things, but it means more health whether you have a wand or daggers or a great sword or bows or a staff it means more health. Likewise, it doesn’t matter what weapon you have dexterity means more correct chance more movement speed but you only have a fixed number of points to assign not counting you know very few pieces then add stats so you constantly have to be adjusting your stats as you’re adjusting your gear to make sure you’re hitting those important thresholds for whatever stat is most important to your weapon combo and you certainly Want to choose a weapon combo that benefits off the same set of stats generally, you have like two stats that really benefit your combo and your weapon should both benefit from those two stats. Your bill is going to be better if your weapon choices benefit from two stats because hitting the basic thresholdsis really only possible on two stats at least until you get to endgame where you can be getting items that have like 1011 points in a given stat.
At 17:23 New world is up 4-1 then next time you give a point it goes to Throne anx Liberty and that makes it 3-2 New World. You subtracted a point somehow. Just wanted to let you know.
I tried the new Xbox beta of NW and the T&L release. I’ll say that T&L will draw in more new players as it just takes off in a better way. The pushing people to guild up part will benefit the users as well and keep more people engaged. The content map keeps people excited for the future. Also I feel like people enjoy complexity in an MMO. Not saying I won’t give NW a deeper look, but T&L sucked me in day 1…NW did not.
The main question is: More complex and strategic tab-target MMORPG or more simplified camera aim action MMORPG. Someone who hates tab-targeting likely won't like one and someone who hates camera aiming likely won't like the other. You're essentially comparing 2 different MMORPG subgenres here. But for someone who likes both systems equally I guess this comparison would matter, but a lot of people prefer one over the other.
Yes 🙌🏻 no stupid dolls or plushies following me around. NW for me as well. I like TaL but it’s so hard to get used to the Tab Targeting BS. My character always picks a different target when I’m in a fight.
Iron man is were you make self made rules in game. Like no trading or using the trading shop at all. Some people also add in if you die you have to delete char and start again.
17:35 - There are indeed only 11 mutated dungeons, but mainly because they combined two early game dungeons into one merged map for the mutated version.
New world will 100% be my option, ALL day. I have played over 200+ hours on Throne & Liberty, and it’s boring as sh*t. The only thing you have is contracts, Dungeons ( which take foreverrrr to queue for ), and gear grinding. Gear is very limited and honestly boring. New world has changed for the better. Even PC OG players are coming back in swarms. It’s a great game. Throne is just a cash grab with crap content. It’s fun for about 50 hours but then dog water
Amazon has put way more funding into New World as well. They only published T&L, while they have an actual dev team for New World. So, as bad as it is, more funding will be provided for New World to continue optimizations and content
That’s actually not true though if you have a wand and a bow, you can certainly go all in and worry about nothing but healing, but you can’t help but also be a DPS with the bow and if you really want to you can be one hell of a support character by buffing and deep buffing with the wind while doing massive single target damage with the bow play style certainly gear determines a little bit of what your archetype is going to be, but it’s play style and choice that determine most of it. For instance, I can carry a wind and use it to do nothing but self heal. I mean that’s not entirely true because But I don’t have to be worrying about massive heels on the ground or big group heels. I don’t even have to work up those skills player. The player decides what his art type is by choosing the skills to do what it is he wants to do for his lifestyle maybe all I want from the wand is a curse explosion maybe I’m not gonna play as a healer at all your type is determined by your individual play style and certainly if you don’t have an item that can do heels then you’re going to need to put on one of those weapons if you wanna be a healer, but it’s about your place style unlike some games where if you’re a healer than your abilities are all focused on healing and you do minimal DPS just like in holy Trinity games the tank the tank is depending on his team to kill everything because he can’t do any DPS. All he can do is taunt and Agro everything on him and stay alive until his team kills it. This game isn’t like that this game lets you do DPS and some functional utility or going in on DPS I got broadsword with daggers glass canon DPS lots of DPS but glass Canon no healing ability really
I chose NW ....again.... TaL somehow felt boring to play for me. But the new NW we got, it feels fun again. You made a mistake tho, TaL also have action combat. You can switch betweet tap target and action when you play on knm, and if you play on controller you are on action with insta lock option . Also i really love the prog skills in NW
Also, NW is less pay to win because gear doesn’t matter in NW as much as it does in throne. Yeah the gear can help you for sure but NW is determined off of your skill lvl. TL is the shiny new thing, but after a 2 year wait getting to 50 I find the endgame lackluster. We got people saying don’t roll on purples unless you’ll spend money on them etc. long long dungeon queues. AOE abilities barely do damage on tank builds. Locked out of mass PvP because the timers are too early for adults with kids. Back to NW for me I think.
If you can't commit to set times in TL, you won't be able to progress with a guild, or you'll end up in a dead guild that doesn't progress, which then makes everything else harder. being part of an organized guild is paramount in this game. I would say NW is more respectful of your time, and the biggest issue with it is the end game, so for the leveling exp alone I think NW is worth it if you never played it on PC. If you have it's just more of the same, yes some things are better, but ultimately the same issues will make you quit it again.
If you think about it you can’t earn lucent in TL. So that means all lucent that flows through the auction house has 100% been paid for by somebody. Interestingly every transaction has lucent tax so that means over time the lucent will slowly disappear which requires players to always put money into the game to keep the marketplace working.

I'd pick New World over TnL, easy choice for me. The NW combat system was great.
For me - and Ive played 6k+ hours on NW, and been on T&L for a few months Korea and now release - its NW hands down. T&L is a nice grind to 50, but boring as hell once you get to 50, and not really alot of things to do. Just my 2 cents.
As someone who didn't like T&L and am currently playing NW, how is NW end game any better
Ehm, the lack of any endgame was the whole reason I quit NW
@@mouseinatrap1120 T&L’s end game are different versions of GvG. Both these games severely lack in end game content. But I would say NW has more to do.

This game has alot going for it and is certainly larger scale hand crafted than a bragged game of different genre like starfield.
yupppp took the words out of my mouth
Floaty? What are you talking about? You never played the game
New world is worth it. I played New World after playing TnL for a while, and the game experience is just so much better.
Now that they like MMO’s tell them they’ll like new world 100x more😂
Throne and Liberty ruined New world for me and here's why:
1) You can't use both weapons' skills simultaneously without switching.
Couldn’t summarize it better. There is a lot of hate for TnL. But still for me it’s the better mmo - there’s so much potential too

I don't know. I think NW dungeon mechanics are pretty good. Making mechanics super complicated seems like a silly thing to me. Just my preference.

Have you watched any videos or played the PvP on throne? It’s crazy and organized. I don’t see how you can disagree based on how something “sounds”.

@@casualgamer4112 Thanks it helps heaps, I was pretty lost
The action combat of T&L is not comparable to NW. It's just the difference of having a mouse cursor all the time and holding right mouse to turn around (classic) vs. turning around without holding right mouse and pressing a key to get one temporarily. The base mechanic of choosing targets by tab or click and then everything hits automatically (minus a few auto misses based on ingame stats) will stay the same. Just classic MMO.
Right now, all im doing is jumping on for a couple hours on Monday or Tuesday, then not jumping back on till the following week
i played peak new world, but i still find t&l better just because i see more players. MMO should be massive.

NW is completely reliant on console gamers for their future. PC has been actively trying to destroy the future of NW. Endgame progression is the single biggest problem in New World... Always has been an issue in some way or another. I think the content they've added makes it a solid product except for the gearing system.
You are right with that. But TL is even worse endgame wise so if we are having to choose to between one of the two then its still NW for me
@@bazzamushYou’re comparing a 3 year old game with a one week old game.
Then pvpers get the rule the night and the carebears can gather during the day and craft during night time
carebears lmfao
It's baffling to me that one of the most popular super-server games Albion Online has not been copied in traditional mmo format ;l . Different zones with different resources clearly labeled out for pvp'ers and pve'ers and even if you pve you can still go to those pvp places with protection or groups and gather/do bosses.
Problem with night cycle is if you are in dungeons the big guilds will gatekeep all pvp areas and content

You can edit the HUD for T&L. 36:50 This statement is incorrect.
You cannot edit the HUD with a Controller Plugged in / when playing on Console. Only Mouse and Keyboard.
mmo on console is a problem in itself
He said you can't change UI for Console / Controller mode. This is correct. You in fact can't change it ☹
Have been playing T&L am level 50 and it just got too complicated (for me.) There's so many materials for leveling and then figuring in traits, dissolving, paper and ink and what to do with all the stuff that's collected? Kind of took the fun out. End game builds being a healer weren't too intuitive (to me)
So I'm hoping New World is a little better in making it not so complicated and getting you to just play instead of min/maxing every detail.
Is that so? Heard you can also pve
@@Gavyne agreed
Or the janky tab-target combat
It's not that horrible stop being dramatic. Do you cry in real life because people can pay for things you can't?
@@cuernavaca_4070 new world is more p2w than TnL because you have to spend money to even play the game. Oopsies

Throne and Liberty seems like a FOMO hell tbh, gives me Archeage vibes, but not in a good way.
Does NW have pvp specific gear ? That makes you better in pvp?
I had a few bugs in TL where I get stuck under stairs and rocks and you are required for to do more guild based things to do endgame.
NW will be the better experience, T&L is too p2w... and the fishing.... NW has amazing fishing mechanics
Literally as someone that has thousands of hours in multiple MMO's and has max crafting and gathering in all of them... like 6 major MMO's ... the ONLY one I enjoy fishing in is NW ... that says something right there.
Throne and Liberty has an action Mode as well - you can switch between Combat Modes.
Just an information ... you all play what tickles your fancy.
Ive read somewhere that even healer get the loot so idk
From what I've seen about T&L it reminds me of Neverwinter and I quit playing that. You also forgot to mention the "tagging" system for drops in the public dungeons that only allow the first person to attack a target to get drops from them.
I play both and NW and T&L and New World is the better game by far, both games struggle with the end game but New World has a better balanced end game IMO, also the gameplay and combat in NW feels MILES better than TL its so much more fluid and fun its something TL has tried to improve last few months but its sadly still not there.

MAybe Throne and Liberty shows us how much we can actually do in New World

I tried the new Xbox beta of NW and the T&L release. I’ll say that T&L will draw in more new players as it just takes off in a better way. The pushing people to guild up part will benefit the users as well and keep more people engaged. The content map keeps people excited for the future. Also I feel like people enjoy complexity in an MMO. Not saying I won’t give NW a deeper look, but T&L sucked me in day 1…NW did not.

The main question is:
More complex and strategic tab-target MMORPG or more simplified camera aim action MMORPG. Someone who hates tab-targeting likely won't like one and someone who hates camera aiming likely won't like the other. You're essentially comparing 2 different MMORPG subgenres here. But for someone who likes both systems equally I guess this comparison would matter, but a lot of people prefer one over the other.

Have no choice but to stay with New World, as Amazon will not release Throne & Liberty in my region. I was part of one of their other Beta titles, paid up front before release only to be locked out regionally, no refund from Amazon.
Neither XD
Guild Wars 2, WoW and Final Fantasy are top dogs for a reason.
By Guild Wars 2 you meant Elder Scrolls Online right?
@@Gipo I would rather stare at the wall than play ESO.
@@sospokemika1197 well i'd rather stop playing games than playing ff14 but it doesn't change the fact who the top mmo dogs are in EU/NA lol
@@Gipo Same here, ff 14 is not the type of mmo I like, but I acknowledge it as a good game.
ESO on the other hand is a missed opportunity and a clunky mess with very dull and floaty combat.
I could roast ESO for days.
@@sospokemika1197 to me eso's combat is 2nd best only to bdo. It feels so fluid once you learn it. It makes healing in any other game boring af. Different pov I guess
How is the combat better in New World by a having so much higher variation in possible skill sets in T&L? 6 skills in NW just isnt it for me.. If i want to aim i play an egoshooter..
No way you think combat Is better in TaL because you have more spells? 🤣
I tried Throne and Liberty and it just felt awful from the very start, awful controls and combat.
Exactly how I felt when I tried it.
yeah if you play on the microwave it's exactly how it feels
@@skiddzjust1389 Do you think TL should only be played on 4080? my 3080 is bad
@@skiddzjust1389 I've got no fps issues in the game, it's just bad controls, you can tell it was made for autoplaying on a phone.
@@ThomasPreinitz that's what I meant, control and movement are smooth af on PC, you can adjust the way you like
TL is the shiny new thing, but after a 2 year wait getting to 50 I find the endgame lackluster.
@@farguc NW gives guilds agency in what times they play. T&L needs to figure out how to do that with GvG.
Excuse my ignorance, but what is Gvg?
asking the question TL or NW while sitting on a nW chair is crazy.
and guess what won XD
@@cyco7229 i cant beleave it but i think.... NW?
If you think about it you can’t earn lucent in TL. So that means all lucent that flows through the auction house has 100% been paid for by somebody. Interestingly every transaction has lucent tax so that means over time the lucent will slowly disappear which requires players to always put money into the game to keep the marketplace working.
I understand your points however comparing amount of content between game that is 4 years out and 1 year isn't good in my opinion and yet 4 year isn't much further with amount of it
TL is 8 years old
