justin s a good frontman, adam isnt but adam can do the entire repertoire. some singers can do some of it, like justin, but not all. "but adam s gay..." ever wondered why they re called Queen?
Both are exceptional singers, but I prefer Adam as the replacement. I don't want Justin to become " that guy who sings for Queen now" in the public eye.
I've never cried at a guitar solo before. Countless songs and performances but never a solo. What Brian let rip at around 3:48ish just that bend then hammer on pull off little pedal thing he did. Actually brought me tears, I don't know if it's the note choice, the perfect timing in the song, the tone, the feel, the decades of experience. I play guitar myself, but this is a brand new experience, never has the pure sound of the instrument made me cry. It's usually everything at once, but that man is fucking special and we need to protect him at all costs!
Really? I'm a huge Brian May fan and I thought he was dreadful at this gig. His sound is thin and weak and he fucked up more or less every song they played. I think he's lost it. I do love Brian and grew up on Queen. But he either needs to pack in or practice properly before concerts. I get the feeling he just wings it these days. If you turned up as a session musician at a gig and played as badly as he does here, you wouldn't be getting asked back. He messed up the solo on Somebody to Love with Pink. He fucked up playing at the Jubliee in the summer on Don't Stop Me Now. Contrast that with someone like Dave Gilmour. When Pink Floyd played Live 8 he said he practisced the whole set three times a day for two or three weeks...something like that. These are songs that he would have played hundreds of times and yet he is still humble enough to make sure he nails it on the day by practicing.
@@phil12323 yeah I wasn't really thinking about that. I love Justin but wasn't a massive fan of this performance, he did much better with other songs. But I wasn't really thinking of that, it's too class musicians doing their thing, I wasn't comparing it I was just listening and he touched me with those 2/3 notes
The solo on "Little Wing" had the same effect on me about 30 years ago. I so get what you mean. It's a wonderful feeling. I'm a bass player and a die hard RUSH fan but, it was Jimi that first made me weep from the beauty of the instrument.
In defence theses shows were 4 plus hours long with a lot of different artists with a strict schedule ans well as being massive tech people behind this. And in they end they were getting together to honour a friend so you can't put stuff like that on them the shows were epic and our generation freddy Mercury tribute concert .
@phil12323 man, I'd love to know what proof that statement has at its core. an extemporised tribute jam is hardly proof of some arrogance in may himself; he sounds about as good as he ever did
Justin Hawkins is the child of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor all together
I love that! love Justin!
forget john deacon’s name?
He’s just incredible
@@post-humanemotion Haha no! But there is nothing common between the two, however, both of them are brilliant!
Justin must be in his absolute glory. Always wanted to hear him sing with Queen.
He did a great job, Justin is an amazing vocalist.
Always thought Justin Hawkins should of been the replacement for Freddie. But oh well The Darkness are back Stronger then ever !
I love when the Taylor family drums together.
Unpopular opinion: I want Justin Hawkins to replace Adam Lambert
Or maybe a popular one
Guy is a rockstar he doesn't just play one on TV
Adam is a cabaret singer. Justin is a rockstar.

Isn't this immortality at it's best. For all musicals on stage and in heaven..... love this
He was the mvp of the 2 nights
Justin Hawkins sings as god, love his voice!!!
Rip Taylor and Freddie
legend, thank you for posting
I wonder why the bass drum can't be heard? Must have been some kind of technical issue.
Brian's guitar is crazy loud!!! 😅
@@bazZzment As always! Hahaha!
@@bazZzment His amps go up to 11 the day he buys them and stay there until they explode.
@@Dreyno well, its one louder isn't it?
Didn't seem too well rehearsed.
I thought it was just me. Brian has an air of the Emporers New Clothes these days whenever he picks his guitar up.
