I have a 16 Mustang GT, but I've been wanting to do a 2GR MR2 for a while. Mustang is a great cruiser and I love it, but man this makes me REALLY want a 2GR MR2
I got one a few months ago. The 2GR mr2 is a lot more rewarding to drive. Plus the mr2 community doesn’t have a bad rep like the mustang community does.
@@7771hameither 2GR or K swap is the best bet for these. I have a sw20 Frankenstein K swap in mine with a six speed. Such a fun car with just 240 to the wheels. She’s NA for the winter come summertime she’s gonna be boosted just a few things I need to fix before boosting her.
@@monstrosityguy5375 I believe so, the damage really isn’t that bad. It just buckled my deck lid. And bent my center piece in kinda good. Lucky my best friend is a body man at one of the best collision centers in my state. So insurance will give me the cash, then we’re gonna fix it tear it down and paint it. What’s crazy bro is I bought a ws6 trans am back in 2018 years ago that had 47k miles on her beautiful car. 14 hour drive 1 mile away from my house a girl wrecked into me and totaled it.. I had to drive 24 hours for my mr2 and only had it 5 months before someone hit me..
When you have a 5.0 GT for reference, you get to see how really worth it a 2GR swap is. Flybys and solo runs don't do it justice at all. That thing is legit fast. Is the mustang bone stock?
Tbh 2gr dont need to be in the mr2 to be scary. Shit in my rav4 alone on highway pull it scary as shit already sometime i dont even know i was crusing 100mph until i look at the dash board. Fucken thing quite as hell at 100 mph it only at 3k rpm while crusing. When i hit the pedal to get me out of thigh places it pulls and fly by easy.
@@2zztercel558 I'm really happy with it for now. but in the near future I plan on installing a nitrous kit with a 100 wet shot, and in the distant future, turbo charging.
@@JokRKidd worth the nitro n turbo in my country the 2gr fse makes 514 rwhp in a sedan called toyota mark x n can do about 280+ kmph on stock internals

mustang just has exhaust and coilovers. And some other suspension stuff, sway bars, end links, vertical links, strut tower brace

@Erin Ericsson 2GR is one of the most reliable engines built. There's a reason Toyota used it in everything!

Love my 2GR MR2. Honestly the transmission runs out before the motor does. You can hang with lots of modern cars until top end.
