I just picked up a pair of these. I am a basketball player, so guys who weight lift as their sport would say I am not a serious lifter, but my most recent squat is 350, so I am moving some weight. I decided that I could not continue trying to lift in my basketball sneakers. I do like to do some pogo jumps and depth jumps before I lift, and I hope these are able to handle some plyo work. other reviews have said they are fine for it. If not I can wear my hoop shoes and swap. we will see I guess.
@@PandaTRBL I got them in on Friday. I will put them to a real test tomorrow, but just wearing them around at home and trying to do one squat jump just at like 50% effort, HELL NO these are not going to be usable for plyometrics. I agree they would probably be OK for a crossfitter, where the closest things they are doing to real plyos are box jumps, but if you tried to do anything with fast movements like sprints or where you absorb and redirect high levels of force like depth jumps these would be horrible, and will likely get you hurt. I do think they are going to be super nice for my leg lifts though, and I can just wear my ball shoes at the start of the workout before I hit the weights.
Sick review dude, looking for some proper squat shoes to fully get myself into weightlifting. I developed great ankle mobility and want to preserve it. These seem great like my powerlift4s
I personally have not owned the adidas powerlift 4 shoes. I cannot imagine too much of a difference but I do know that the heel to toe drop is 13mm and the heels material is slightly different. The material on the nike is more solid than the adidas. Hope this helps
Too stiff. Weightlifting centric shoes always have stiff flex in the soles. Even the hybrid cross trainer lifts like this one. There won't be enough bend to them and they would probably hurt when using the kind of footwork required for boxing.
Yes I finally found it. My old Reebok's legacy lifter has too much heel height, looking for something less more subtle for both squats and deadlift this is it.
Thats because those are built for leg squats. Hence the heel is higher for your calves to get hit to. Also proper positioning for knees over toes for full extension
Hi Avi, these are recommended for lifting only. I would highly advise running in these shoes just because the sole is very flat and thin. Running shoes need to have curvature to promote an organic stride and some sort of cushion. I would recommend picking up any cheap running shoes over these! Hope this helps
greeat question bro, probs around like year and half or 2 years. i only invested in lifting shoes when i started to hit parallel!! LFG RAPTORS!!! FVV is an allstar and in 3 point contest 😎
@@PandaTRBL Yea I was thinking something the same. I'm actually glad you mentioned that, I think hitting parallel would be easier with the shoes. Because I (like most) naturally elevate my heel when squatting no weight (feels the most comfy). So my idea is let me do this for 1.5 years seriously, then justify buying them. If I'm not hitting parallel, I think I'm just above it. And I hope/imagine the shoes would make that easier. And F*CK YEA! Holy Trent Jr. been going CRAZY too xD
yo.... i just copped the romaleos 2 in absolute mint condition... yall want a vid on it? im crazy jacked up about owning a pair!
do it bro!! romaleos 2 review in 2022
Do it. 👍

How do these compare with Adidas powerlift 4 shoes? Thanks

@@Ganbarizerthanks for the reply, duly noted!
If only Nike would restock their weightlifting shoes in general :/
i know right :(

Should we just take the insoles out or get other firmer insoles?
It could definitely help! It’s a great beginner weightlifting shoe without an aggressive heal drop
Random question what socks are those?
Reigning champ x stance socks! They don’t make them anymore but I think stance and RC both make great crew socks
Hi. Can these be used for running at all? is there nike air/cushion at the heel? Thanks

@@PandaTRBL Thanks for the prompt and informative reply!
How does this type of shoe works with flat feet or overpronated feet?
Put orthotic insoles in
Same here to you ever get them my feet are flat af
Nice review! How far long were you in your lifting journey before you bought your first lifting shoes? Btw, our Raptors have been KILLING IT xD

There’s nothing wrong with my Romaleos 3XD but I want the 4s cuz they look so much better
facts my dude. some of the 4s look super dope
Ipf approved?
Yea almost any shoes are allowed within the ipf, except hiking boots

Is cheap plastic crap just like rom 3/4. Romaleos 2 never needed a replacement, but Nike overbuilt them.
Very glad I kept my 2s
Can you run with them
I wouldn’t recommend it tbh
Are Nike lifting shoes good for deadlifts as well?
Not at all, the best thing for deadlifts is to be in socks or in sumo sole
