Nice you go through a pretty good amount of shoes. Just a thought: why not explain the pros and cons, too? Just saying the Romaleos 3 and 4 ain't good, doesn't help viewers.

You are saying that Romaleos 4’s are not good but why so many high level weighlifters uses Nike Romaleos 4 shoes. Sponsor thing or something? I have adidas adipower 2’s before and they are crap compare to Romaleos 4’s.

Ppl hating in r4s but they're only bad if you had wide feet. They're the best shoes I've tried including the r2s. I do suggest going half size up

Never saw this channel before. But this is some really good advices. Exactly what I needed as I was really concerned about heel height and specifically nike romaleos 4.
Never needed a lifting shoes before even while doing heavy squats as I have excellent mobility. But this year I do kettlebell C&J, tons of reps and man, my feets wobble like crazy. Lack of stability in my running asics is really prominent.

    • @Lwhosane

I just got a pair of core. First impression the all black reminds me of a pair of shoes my grandmother would wear. And the toe box is super narrow. I’m returning them tomorrow. It is my first pair though so I am unsure of what to expect. The heal also felt like foam my cat’s hair was immediately stuck to the entire sole of the shoe (sorry Amazon).

Narrow toe box, too high heel is Alan Thrall's critique, 2s were better. Also look into barefoot shoes.

His video is titled "What shoes are those", watch the whole video. To this day, there's no weightlifting shoe that have a wide enough toe box, although some are wider than others (Romaleos 2, new Anta weightlifting shoes, latter apparently more than the former), and you can enlarge them by watching Squat University's video named "What I hate about weightlifting shoes".

If i had narrow feet, ROM4 is actually stronger and sturdier than 2s. I don't though. My wide feet got my little tow crushed by the 4s. I bitterly regret buying them. Didn't try the 3s but everyone who got them has no tongue nor straps anymore. Legacy L2 is amazing, very wide toe box. Never had anything as good (or beautiful) as rom 2s. (never tried antas though)

My first shoes I bought from Bob Hinse from a phone number I got in International Olympic lifter Magazine. They were hand made in Italy. The best I ever had...that was in 93'. I went to Adidas after..there Olympic shoe. I was never happy with those. Too much torsionally flexible..

Man just spent almost 200 bucks on the Romaleos 4... Still didn't receive them, should I get them back? I've just bought a Metcon 9 pair that I'm really digging but I'm thinking of starting some Olympic weightlifting soon in a club that's really near to my house.
Just to say, I love my Mectons but they scratch my outer right uncle to the point of wounding, which I solved with a strip. Still pisses me off tbh but besides that, they're just way better than the old Nike running ones that I used till now that I'm really reaching some goals. If anybody could help I'd be so thankful

Maybe too narrow toe box BUT i still love them, the best contact and stability with the ground i ever have. I train in reebok legacy lifter and adidas adipower 3 and both of them doesnt match the stability and ground feel like romaleos 4 have. Only downsize is small toebox.
