    Nike Romealos 2 for the win. I've had those for almost 7 years and they keep going strong. I'd grab a pair of these if not for the plastic eyelets.

      I liked my Rom2s as well, but after wearing wider toe box shoes for so long, I can't go back to the tight toe box on them.

    That shoe looks awesome! I can squat in either flats or heels, but weirdly enough I actually need heels for my competition bench press. I find I can get way better and more consistent leg drive in the bench press if I have heels, may my lower legs are just to short and need the added height. Great video, looks like I'm going to get these or the adipower 3s next.

    Yes on heels for me. I love my Adidas AdiPowers...I don't have a wide foot but my second toe is longer than my big toe and that can cause issues. The adipowers fit nice for me. But if they wear out someday I might try a pair of the tyr

    I have a pair of Adidas shoes that fit like a high end hockey skate, which is fine because I'm used to that kind of fit, but it would be good to have some room for these long toes of mine to stretch out a little bit.

    Same here (I either squat barefoot or with compression socks), but was wondering about flat soled shoes to be used when working out while traveling (when the need to squat at gyms might make squatting with flat soled shoes preferable--for sanitary reasons?--to squatting barefoot or with socks). Any ideas?

    • @BasementBrandon
      @BasementBrandon  Год назад +1

      I've always liked training with these minimal style shoes when traveling for 2 main reasons. 1st, they're lighter and take up less space than oly shoes. 2nd, I can wear them to walk to the gym and don't have to bring another pair of "casual" shoes in most cases.

    • @gaberoo9099
      @gaberoo9099 Год назад

      @@BasementBrandon Thx. I don't have a pair of those (I'm guessing any zero lift shoe like Xero, Altra?, Vivo or even tai-chi shoes would fit the bill), but I do have "drivers" by Rothy's (moccasins with no heal and nubbed rubber soles...works in a pinch, but looks really goofy). I'll probably buy the cheapest zero lift athletic shoe to use for both squatting outside of home as well as walking. Xero supposedly has a 5000 mile sole warranty (hard to believe). As an added benefit, I'll get to see if zero-drop/lift is better for my body than super-cushioned walkers (pricey french brand...Hoka or Brooks).

    Hi, and thank you for the review. My size is usually between 9.5 to 10. Normal lenght foot, but extremely wide and high arch. Tried them from a friend of mine (9.5), and the lenght was ok, but they felt too snug and I had problems while closing the upper strap. So defenetly a 10, maybe even a 10.5. What would you reccomend?

    Do humans really need weightlifting shoes?
    Isn't it most natural for us to be barefoot, and isn't it easier to demonstrate our strength when we are natural? There is an idea
    I feel the most ground contact and stability when squatting barefoot.
