"We always prioritize."
-Installs the wing first.
and forget about mirrors :))
“Always prioritize “
-works on vert before finishing the 240z lol , love this build though
Casey Young the vette is needed before the Z is needed.....
Lol I thought the same thing. And agree with Chris. :-)
Casey The Gambler 500 builds come before the Z since the Z has a lot more leeway and a farther deadline. SEMA 2018 is October 30th to November 2nd, the Gambler 500 is in two days, July 13th, extending to July 15th.
This is why i love America. It's so easy to get vehicles like this streetlegal. Here in Europe it's a bit harder. Awesome video guys. I would really like one of these in my garage, Nice:)
Never thought id say this, awesome vette!!!!!!!! Id like to see a bar going the width of the car at the bottom of the windshield, with the same curve as the glass, and a bar in the very front where your tubes make the 90 degree down turn. Also, put a flowmaster on it, cause it sounds like it has a leak. Maybe thats just me though. No matter what, its cool.
Really am liking this build, at first I wasn't sure lol. Anyways, I think it would be cool to mount the radiator in the rear.
Disconnect your sway bars for more suspension articulation!
It almost has the shape of the car from back to the future, the Delorian
its just A Master piece, Awesome Wonderfull Amazing !!!!!!! :)
Off road Reroy👀
Leroid 2.0
ami me pelan la verga
Leroy 1/2
RYAN RASMUSSEN leroy 1/4 😂
1/16 Leroy😂
This one is called the "Leron 64"
ami me pelan la verga ... nice
if its an offroad build u might wanna run a snorkel air intake
Expanded metal all over the body
Great. Another key.
Y'all really missed an opportunity by not calling it The Cartvette. SMH 😂
Parking and after shopping car is lost. 🤣
You might want to build a cover behind the seats separating cabin from rear of the vehicle, otherwise you guys gonna get hit by rocks.
Gonna get death also
Could just cut a thin piece of lexan to fit, like MCM did on the subarute. Drill some holes and zip tie it to the cage
Wimp
Attach that disconnect key to the car some how! I can see you 2 loosing that while on the road quickly. And we all know how you are with keys! =)
Anthony Maciukiewicz I was thinking the same thing haha
This for sure! We have a yellow string tying our disconnect on our FSAE car to the frame just for this reason.
Yup..
@Jason N I was going to say the same thing, we zip tied ours to the cars because we lost every single one...Becomes a pain when you need to actually drive lol.
you could just jump it out in a pinch
Why not just bypass the door switches?
My thoughts also.
because there's probably other sensors that could drain the battery, maybe not but since they disconnected a lot of stuff it's just a nice simple piece of mind
This guy always does shit the hard way and ends up biting him in the ass then redoing it later
Because they like to rush themselfs and don't leave much time for thinking. I think the first thing that pops into his head he does.
I was thinking the same thing. I do that in my Jeep when I drive doorless, all I had to do is pull out a fuse and problem solved.
Guys I don't wanna be the huge negative nancy, but please for the love of god wear helmets while driving that thing. At 10:30 you can see the cross brace is hardly behind the headrest and if you get rear-ended you're gonna brain yourself on that tube.
Okay mom!
wait wait wait.... Cut back to 2:26, flip that battery tie-down rod around, so it doesn't puncture the battery. lol prevented one, overlooked the other.
Its almost as if they were meant to go in the other way around
LOL..
i noticed that too
Please don't just do a battery tie down, you need to build a whole box to contain the battery. In case of any malfunction. You could end up with hot battery acid all over your head, face, and, back. Just ask roadkill, not a pleasant experience.
Allan French Ya... acid burns not fu$&ing cool. Please listen n contain...it’s too close
Allan French or use an agm type batt.
Totally! If you plan to keep that car, you've gotto do something about it :-)
Dry cell battery problem solved.
Wait do you mean the roadkill tv show? If so which episode is this talked about in.
EXCELENTE MUY CREATIVO ME GUSTA TU DISEÑO LE FALTA ALGUNAS COSITAS PERO IGUAL INSENTIVAS A REALIZAR ESTE TIPO DE PROYECTOS GRACIAS AMIGO
The entire time I'm thinking "The cops is going to have a field day with this one."
It kind of looks like the corvette named Leroy from Cletus McFarland
most of these projects look similar since the frame gives you the best spots to weld off of.
Thats White I thought too
@nallen100 I shake my head at you...
@nallen100 you should do something original then!
@nallen100 because it would give us something to hate just like you hating, hater. Seriously bro get a life
i can totally see you losing that red battery disconnect key thingy
Just put it in the glove box
I hope you don’t sell this after gambler make more power lol
pretty sure he already said it was going to continue on into something else (the engine at least)
He said they will change it to something else aka a street track drift build
He should build another version of this maybe something like The Fast and Furious Flip car hahah. Jk
Wheres the side mirrors?
Nate wu you don't need them lol
Where we're going, we won't need mirrors.
Lol
Attached to his neck
You don't need side mirrors in a buggy because it's a *****
To do list:
1 make sure the lug nuts can't shear
2 secure the battery disconnect key with a string
3 weld in a few more support bars into the roll cage
4 don't get hurt by flying rocks ;)
5 love the car to bits and pieces ♡
To make it street legal, you actully nedd a revers light too.
Also a third brake light
Add high beams to the list
Vincent Bolduc plus side mirrors, mud flats
Eddie Rivera whats a mud flat
Eddie Rivera
You don't need side mirrors to be street legal.
Please paint it. Id hate to see it all rusted up. Monster Vette > AMG Thing
Rust-Oleum truck bed coating would be cool
Rattlecan Orange
Thats a dope colour
Tan off road paint!
They should just clear coat it.
I see you put a lot of thought and engineering into the way the exhaust flows onto the rear wing to smooth out the air flow and decrease drag......
jokes aside I am loving this build it looks and sounds amazing!
Bruh just cut the two wires going to the door switches and jump em easy peasy
corvette wiring is autistic
best way to test the strength of welds, stand on it :p
So mad it took me this long to realize your vette is called Jenkins and Cletus’ is Leroy... Leroy Jenkins... god damnit I love it
B is for Eric
did you mean to copy Cleetus and Leroy or?
Hot rod magazine copy as well, but i still think of Cleetus first. Leroys been one of his main projects for a while now.
Lol cleetus bought Leroy as beater/toy. He's never expected to take it to where he has it today. He's said that multiple time so yeah cleetus built the exo cage to be safer in his passes. This dude cage design is exactly the same. Can't say cleetus copied it
Heath Clements cage designs don’t differ a lot from each other especially based off the same car
@@FuttBuckerByMutt good point man. Idk why I didn't think of that
Dude you gotta do a pre runner front bumper please, and like a cow hide on the top to act as a roof!!
Definitely would not have a acid battery behind me. If it explodes or you flip, it's going to go all over yall.
Dry cell battery a must!!
Pull the door switches and connect the wires problem solved
Jeremy hanna
Exactly! What a crazy way to do that, building a 100’ bridge just to cross a simple mud puddle.
Yeah this was some lame hack shit that takes 2 seconds to solve.
I suspect it was done that way just to create more content.
Noticed you missed out on the blinker fluid
Dude why dont you turn this into an exo drift car? It would perform a lot better than the 370z and since it is lighter, then you wont go through so many tires. I mean look at hoonigans exomiata
B is for Corvette Monster thing-y, Father of Shart Kart!
so cool !!!! God Bless America... I wish a covertte would be so cheap that we could do stuff like this down here. You rock Chris
Bought an 85 for 1k.
I've had those battery disconnect keys fall out before. Make sure to keep a spare with you.
Darth Roth he should run a zip tie through the hole and around the cage. Just incase it comes out
Sir please make 360 view video of your buggy
Looking better each day. Plenty of space behind the seats for the washer bottle. Also battery clamp rod is the wrong way round the hook should be on the outside to stop it puncturing the battery.
Jesh Leroy has a brother.. lol
I have 2 suggestions, one of which I made on the last Kart video.
1- tractor front fenders for all 4x wheels. Keeps you road legal and a lot cleaner inside.
2- rollcage bikini top. Just some fabric to keep direct sun and rain off your heads. Lots of examples out there. You can also make a plastic, sheet metal, or fabric insert to go from the door bar to the kickpanel to help with a lot of the mud spray you'll be getting.
Of all the projects you've done... why do I love this one so damn much?!?
AbominableJoshie what’s the green thing by your name
That means I sponsor the channel.
I know this is an old video, but just a heads up - pretty much every car I've done ECU work on, the factory specified method of clearing the ECU learning table (fuel/air mixture at idle etc) is to disconnect the battery, then the next time it's started it goes into learning and will run odd for the first few miles. With that battery disconnect on a stock ECU you're doing that every time you park it. If you notice a lumpy idle or it running rich, that would be why
If I saw that on the road and didn't know it was a vette, I would have kept guessing for the longest time. this thing came out great!
misterjimmy the valve covers scream CORVETTE in bright red letters. Not that hard to figure out.
well if it drove by then its a different story :)
I'm too drunk to taste this chicken yeah but with this youd expect a swap
go check out Cleetus Mcfarland YT channel. he has a 7 second debodied c5
Hell, even two spares😂
Man I love watching your videos but I got to say Cletus did it first and it's always best to see a RUclipsr come up with their own ideas
Roadkill technically did it first
Chris you need to get a LED relay for the blinkers
★★PLEASE READ★★PLEASE BUY portal axle lift...(portal gear box which drops the wheels down 5 inches but also pushes the wishbone up 5inches because with a regular lift your just pushing the truck body up but doesn't give any extra ground clearance due to the axles. But with portals you actually get 5inchs of ground clearance plus a 30% gear reduction. ALSO PLEASE BUILD a CUSTOM BRUSH GUARD WITH WINCH!!!!!! AND A DIAMOND PLATE full under body skid plate. Thank you for reading this and have a great day
Off-road Leroy... Drag Leroy.... where is the Drift Leroy? Stance Leroy? Widebody Leroy?
PGPLogic Leroy went drifting
Hoonigan built a drift Miata death cart.
Kyler Voie I’m aware. I’m talking c5 corvettes that all look the same for different purposes.
One Leroy was enough for me🤷🏻♂️
Richard Campbell eh I like it 🤷♂️
Those brake lights are not bright enough compared to the running lights. You want about a 10 to 1 ratio. Those "headlights" are off road only. No way you can use those on any street. Those are like driving around with the high beams on which is also illegal and you'll cause other vehicles to crash. I'm guessing all this has been mentioned before. I hope you got it fixed eventually.
Please paint the roll cage or clean it and clear coat it. It looks too clean to let be “rigged” 😭 also flag holder?
Now you need to put twin turbos on it like Cletus McFarlands Leroy. Then you're set!
And it's road legal in USA ? Damn ... here, you can't change your rims if it's not OEM ...
I'm french, and for the insurance, you can't change anything if it's not factory.
For the bike it's a little more permissive but not too much.
For example, a US muscle car imported in France need many modification to be road legal. And with the time, it's become more and more restricted ...
Darkside, yeah but in case of a crash with a pedestrian, nothing protect him from the car.
In France it's a big no-no.
You can legally drive a tank on public roads here, aslong as you put rubber tracks instead of metal and any and all firing mechanisms are eliminated
@@jacob3163 needs lights, turn signals and wiper blades...that's about it
it depends heavily on the state
Now you just have to get that air intake up off the ground. Fine for street not great for any dirt or puddles. Cool rig, you could easily build and sell those!
Is the Exhaust going to melt the wing? It looks like it is far enough but not sure. It looks Awesome. I'm building a 65 Corvette Sting Ray Truck. It to will be a convertible the same.
I'd tie the cage in the front together, say around the bottom of the windshield. And maybe another lower and place disconnection's on it. But I'm looking to keep the car safe also.
WTF is wrong with you people. Nothing better to do than mess up a Corvette. I love it, seeing a rolling rear wheel from the passenger seat that is still attached to the car is awesome. Florence OR has a car show in Sept. each year, you should bring it. 2017 had 8 Corvettes, and NOT ONE looked like yours. Bring it cause you already have your 1st. vote for “People’s Choice” award right here.
Are you gunna paint it chris?
Your making every gear head jealous right about now😜
😍 That car & your craftsmanship.......a true art form👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers, A
What if you bought a cheap truck bed box and welded it in accross the back where the battery is? Keeps the battery out of the Oregon rain and gives you space to keep things dry.
The title was"DRIVING the off rd vette cart" you talked through the whole video except for the last 15 seconds. Some people love to here the sound of their own voice.
Its his channel. He can talk as much as he wants;)
Mud flaps might be a good idea, especially when your going to be spraying up rocks, dont wanna lose an eye do ya?
Funny how this vette cart thing took off.... Also you really couldnt think of a better name than Dr. Jenkins??? Way to rip off Cleetus and LLLLLEEEERRRROOOOOYYYYYYYY!
Definitely needs a skid pan (that's the wrong thing I can't think what it is but like to protect the engine) then like weld a big crazy aggressive bullbar. Would look so cool
And a winch
theroburrito was thinking a winch too yeah!
Skid *plate* is the word you were thinking of.
Tom Smith that's it thanks a lot!
Tom Smith usually the comment section is a really horrible and volatile place so I really appreciate that😊
I was thinking for your window-washer bottle you could try some pvc tubing. It might look alright mounted across the front bellow the windscreen / windscreen wipers. Just an idea. Mad idea. Liking it. A Corvette! Cool. Shame a Corvette had to die in making this project. I guess you have saved its heart and soul though.
never been so early. damn
CHRIS!!! Not sure if you looked into it already... but. The stock air box takes in fresh air way down low in front... snorkel maybe... or just install an open style filter and remove the inlet box. Perhaps you should consider either installing some quick disconnects for the sway bar end links or even removing the seat bars all together when off roading. You’ll get way more side to side articulation.
You're the first dudes from Oregon I didn't despise upon sight. Sweet rig. 👍
What are you trying to say?
Get rid of the wing and put a spare wheel on the back
Yes
Mount the Gatling gun there.
Yes
That would look really good
Or both
Nice enough ride and all, but if that thing scared you, I think you would have real issues with Cleetus McFarland's no body Vette, Leroy. Runs low 8s and should see 7s soon. He also can just turn it off and walk away like a normal Corvette. Maybe talk to him> Anyway, keep it up, looks like it's going to be real sweet.
You are definitely going to need rear fenders unless you wanna get hit in the head with rocks from the rear tires lol
😂
Mudguards will do just fine 😂😂
Easily one of your coolest builds
Just go watch cleetus and Leroy instead of his monkey see monkey do copy cat
Feed back hold down hook end the other way. Your battery will thank you if it wiggles around. Will you not lose your fine tune adjustments by disconnecting battery or did you consider a separate supply for the ECU? Used to take a few miles to years ago to have idle acting properly. If that problem is still happening now you'd think they'd have found a better way. Any relation to Leroy? The aerodynamic genes look similar. Cheers.
you need more triangulation on the cage
Agreed that rollcage really isn't gonna do anything if it rolls over, there's not enough triangulation and it's gonna punch through the frame rails because they didn't plate the frame rails
Say what you want.... Too much like Leroy... Idc who started it. Ik Leroy was a copy also but Leroy is the biggest out there and everyone knows that... And I can't be happy watching this knowing it's not leroy sorry... Could've made the cage a little differently..... Just my opinion.
Off-Road Vette...Drives it on pavement...Type of guys who buy 4x4's and use them as dailys.
I don't know if i am impressed or shocked that you can actually drive this on the street. For off-road it's perfect but for a street machine in most countries around the world its illegal...in my country you are actually charged for this, no jail time just a very big fine. But it looks amazing, well done
But will it do a burnout!?
Stock axel's won't like it, but it should...
With out a problem 🔥
@@loskoors2mames276 i don't think so, axles would fuck up pretty easily.
Don't know about your state but in mine lights have to be DOT approved with a DOT stamp to be street legal. On my own car I have 480w of led for extra highbeam light but my factory lights are still used.
You need control arms with heim joints. Any serious hit off-road at speed with ball joints will quickly lead to separation...especially with more unsprung weight with the heavy wheels. Play safe brother!
Paint it
Who ever built that ....... “cage” should just not anymore, that wouldn’t pass inspection in 49 states...... cringe worthy coming from a nasa And nhra certified cage builder
Please rust proof your roll cage!!
To save you from the tires throwing rocks, you could build some wheel-mounted fenders, like on a motorcycle or Plymouth prowler. Semi-Truck-style mudflaps would be hilarious too
Offroad leroy?
It looks soooo cool!!! One word of advice (from someone who's been there....) Secure your battery disconnect key to the frame with some steel wire. I lost mine, and you cannot (at least when I looked years ago) get a replacement red plastic key. I had to buy a whole new switch.
Hmmm. Leroy much?
I was thinking the same thing!
Hot rod magazine Corvette hack much?
Hey I recommend for the battery quick disconnect to put it on some sort of chain that is attached to the car! If you lose that off-roading or just driving that would suck!
*So where does the M2 gonna be mounted?*
where IS the M2 GOING TO BE
Please finish the cage. The previous vid had lots of helpful comments. Triangulation, baseplates, and bracing corrections are a good start. Please? That cage will fold like a bad poker hand if you end up on your lid. The rear braces are set up to collapse in a bad way.

You guys should meet up with Cleetus McFarland from Florida and his his Vette Kart "Leroy"
Get pictures of the two under the Arch in St. Loius.
Ok so I'm sure u know by now about Leroy please tell me ur not trying to make an offroad version of Leroy I mean you half ass copied the wing what's next twin turbskis.. I'm not hating I do like it but come on ur just trying to get views right
Pretty sure Roadkill did the offroad Vette Kart first.
With such bigger wheels, you may want to look at lowering the gear ratio. A basic ring and pinion set isn't too expensive but will help a lot in the low speed off road stuff. Awesome toy!! Looks like a hot wheels car.
Anyone else in ‘21 wondering who Eric is?
