      V6 Mustang Performance - Tips and Tricks on Modding Mustangs. Hey Glenn, I'll be putting in Corbaeu seats next year, the main concern is the fixed ride height so let me know how that goes. I want the super light weight fixed position FX1 Pro. And nice speaker install, I'll use this for reference when I do mine. Didn't know about that spray on dampener.

    Just installed JBL’s in my 2011 mustang thanks to this video. Very easy to follow along with. I was able to install them without removing the door handle latch cable which made the job even quicker. My only fear was being extra careful while screwing in the speakers so as to not slip with the screwdriver and puncture the woofer. 😱

    You sir, could teach people how to do videos. 9.5/10
    This video was so good, it's easy to spot some extremely minor issues:
    * Better lighting in some shots
    * Put the name and model number of items you are using/describing
    Those notes are extremely nit picky. Excellent job. PLEASE do videos on the following:
    *Replacing head unit (there are a few set ups to chose from, I would appreciate your opinion on what you would put in.
    * Replacing the front 8's and the rear sub.

    was so stoked to install some 6x8's in my 2014 GT, unfortunately Ford appears to have changed the fronts to 5 1/4 inch separates up front so the 6x8's I bought are no good for the doors. Funny enough the rear install looks much easier than it actually is, not sure if its just a year to year difference but there are alot more things holding that side panel in place than shown in the video :( Additionally it seems metra ford adapters have their polarity reversed so all of them needed to be modded.

    Love the video! I have a few questions about the installation. I have a 2013 mustang premium w the shaker system and the speaker frame doesn’t have an option to take out just the speaker. Have to take out the whole frame which is way too big for a 6x8 kicker.

    I installed the baffles on the rear speakers as the video suggested... but now the speakers sound a little shallow, no mid-low ends noticeable... has anybody noticed this when installing the baffles? is it a question of taste or do the baffles really do make a difference?

    • @shabbee
      @shabbee 5 лет назад

      Baffles will do as the video explains but also change the resonant frequency which it's why you notice a drop in lower frequency reproduction

    what else can i do if i have a slightly larger budget. I have the shaker 500 and I'm looking to do more. Also is there a reason why no sound attenuation was used in the door? It looked pretty flat too.

    • @V6MustangPerformance
      @V6MustangPerformance  9 лет назад

      shihster88 You can also do the bass speakers, You can get even higher quality speakers maybe even an amp. DEI also has material to redo the whole top deck in a nice material. We did not do more sound insulation because this is a track car and the mats are heavy.

  • @OilBarron84

    i have the base speakers (2014) and they're terrible. Is there any problem with just doing the fronts (polarity, sound differences)? They look simpler and will reduce the cost. Sorry, I don't know much about audio.

    • @V6MustangPerformance
      @V6MustangPerformance  10 лет назад +2

      Yes you can just do the fronts. Many people just listen to the fronts anyway without balancing it to the back.

    Good video but these are a bad speaker upgrade for the mustang! If you’re using the factory head unit, the preset EQ curve causes speaker rattle with some low frequencies. I’d try a speaker with less bass if you’re only upgrading the speakers and not changing the head unit or adding a dsp. It’s not the speaker’s fault. It’s just the factory radio and its lack of a way to change the factory EQ settings.

    nice video...do u think that the spray in matt stuff would help to keep sound out of the cabin area if you were to strip the entire interior out and put that everywhere the carpet was? or is it just more to keep sound in for your sound system?

    • @V6MustangPerformance
      @V6MustangPerformance  10 лет назад

      It would work for that purpose. Their lay on mat would do more for sound deadening but the spray would work as well. Check out their website for more info. www.designengineering.com/catalog/boom-mat-acoustical-products

    I am confused, what Kickers did you use? I can't find any 5x7s from them....this vid is from '14 but seems as if whatever you used is not made anymore. Plus a bigger magnet = it needs way more power (RMS) and no stock head-unit is going to be pushing anything above 10-15w per speaker, when aftermarkets need 50-60w constantly.
