    I actually appreciate that you also have the "Reid Duke 'I won't concede til I'm dead'" sort of mentality on the first match. They are down on clock, and have assembled infinite turns to sculpt. That doesn't win based on the ring protection and you kill them, barring some form of interaction that gets around uncounterable, the next turn you have available to you. If they can say how you're dead (and you listed a couple), you would have clicked the button.
    Infinite turns is not a win if you cannot be damaged or targeted. They have to present a valid win before they earn the win - especially if you have cards in hand, with multiple ways of getting more and a win con presented on board.

      100% agree. It's not even a question. Justin shouldn't concede to a hypothetical opponent that plays better than his actual opponent. That's silly.

      If you were in a game 3 with Duke playing a control deck where you stabilized and he was playing something that is 100% lost but he doesn't concede to get a draw you wouln't feel that good. That said, this isn't even what's happening here. Justin offered to concede if he even described the winning line.
      I'm wondering if either Karn or a 3rd metamorph (since he had played 2) was still in the opponents deck or hand though.

      @@Furycrab they can just PO their metamorph back to hand, don't need a third (and they missed this as Justin points out, since they only PO'd crypt at 46:19)

    "Spells you control can't be countered" is a hell of a typeline.

    You're 100% in the right to not concede at 50:00 imo

    i wonder if a brew of bazaar, allosaurus shepherd, vexing bauble with saga and artifact hate and force of vigor could be worth investigating with the growth of jewel shops now

      The one ring has made jewel too good vs fov for this approach

    1:00:08 a funny line is float with saga, fetch loutus, use sabo to bounce your own vault, then replay, and cast either of your expensive artifacts (probably citadel)
    Unclear if winning but it is funny

  • @pokedadsam9041
    @pokedadsam9041 21 день назад

    50:26 they missed the winning line too so they definitely didn’t see it. Bouncing their metamorph to hand and copying citadel won them the game on the spot.
    Articulate how you win and you can argue for a concession.

      @@NathanLipetz but he didn't refuse to give a line, he said "activate saga" which is actively wrong. i've seen top players miss easier lines under time pressure, asking seems more than fair there and if he didn't want to give a two word answer of "karn lattice" or "activate citadel" thats on him

      @@NathanLipetz yeah fair, i can only talk about what i know here. i obviously don't know exactly what happened and am completely open to the possibility I'm wrong, it just seems like it would have been really easy to just quickly mention one of the win cons if he was aware of them and its hard for me to give much weight to just some vague statement about other unseen chat messages (not that you should be obliged to give more detail or anything, this isn't really any of my business anyways)

      @@NathanLipetz force doesn't do anything with chimil in play does it? i agree thatd be normally enough, but i apologize as im not super familiar with the format so maybe there are more obvious stock maindeck answers to chimil in jewel shops beyond the two sink into stupors we already saw. it seems like a convoluted enough kill to me that its reasonable to not take it for granted that even a very good player doesn't see it, though i certainly get how it could be frustrating to be asked that especially if there was some miscommunication
