Not really! AFAIK BSA Clipper is a bog-standard hard clipper. Nothing special about it.
Tbh at the comparisson at 3:00min i like the crunchiness of orange clip but i don´t like how it brings the snare that much upfront and gives it arificial body that was not that present in the „other plugs“ version.
So I prefer how the snare sits in the mix with the „other plugins“ option and also the beat is less aggressive and more „groovy“ imho this way . But i can think of times where orange could come in handy.
However i find i a bit overpriced for a coloring clipper-tool. 30-50 euros would be ok but 120 is def too much
Yeah agree. Ofcourse when I would have used orange clip form the start on that loop, I would have made changes in balance. but it is good to hear that that one plugin does basically what I did with all those others before. Looks like i was searching for that sound.
I miss when we got Ableton's OTT as a plugin for free
I use and love Gold Clip. But there is no sense to buy Orange Clip….
Only if you're after that specific clipping sound.

They care more about paying RUclipsrs from the audio world to show the plugin than about the quality of their product. I'm not talking about this brand, I'm talking in general. and therefore they have to recover the money, that explains the high price

I don't think it's wrong at all for a developer to ask money for a plugin. But not 119.
"OTT is free. This should be as well" - I really, REALLY hate how entitled people are nowadays. Just because one company made a free plugin doesn't mean another company has to (or should). Regardless of what you think of the product, the company invested time and money to create it. Why shouldn't they recoup that investment? Charging money for the plugin isn't he problem. Charging a ridiculous amount is the problem. At least they're not as bad as UAD.

And yes, UAD ARE terrible. Their complete native bundle of 44 officially licenced premium plugs costs the same as 2 copies of Orange clip. How dare they provide value, and how dare anyone have an opinion "these days".

It's funny that you claim THIS developer should give their product away for free, but you have no problem with UAD charging anywhere from $150 to $350+ for each of their plugins. It's interesting that your defense of UAD mentions only the sale price of a bundle, not the price of their individual plugins. Oh, and UAD's Signature Edition bundle is $299 on sale, so your claim of "the same as 2 copies of Orange clip" is a blatant lie. In the future, try to make your lies a little more difficult to debunk.

It's got an interesting sound, looks well made, but I'll pass. Not even the price is why I'm not buying. One big reason, I've got Schwabe Gold Clip.
I absolutely understand they'll sound different. I could get both, but I don't feel the need. Gold Clip gives me what I'm after, clipping that's mostly clean. I push mine a little intentionally to add a touch of grit.
To get the Orange to go light on the grit probably won't give me enough clipping that I'm after.

The whole thing is that you use Orange Clip on beats. I would never use orange clip on a master I think.
I see it as a mixing plugin, not for mastering.
If you have a gold clip, you're settled unless you want this specific orange clip sound. But to pay 119 for that or 99 with a loyalty discount?
Well ok I changed my mind. I bought Orange to add to my library of plug-ins.
Lesson learned, never say it's not needed. Orange does include juice.
For transparency, I'm using payment plans for these both, spreading it over 10 months.
They have made 2 plugins, both overpriced, not saying they are not good though, just overpriced
