This video changed my life. I was 305lbs when I found it and followed Keto, on and off, for a year after and lost 102lbs! I have since shared your video with people as a guide and they have also had success. I always go back to your video for guidance. I find that keeping the weight off is tough. I gained over 20lbs in a year since. I am going back on it after the holiday with a goal of 30lbs... nothing compared to what I accomplished. Thank you.

Keto is what every person who is overweight and obese should be doing. We definitely have been lied to. It's the healthiest thing for us.
Weight Loss and Curves it's how we survived for millions of years. High fat, organs and a little veggies/berries. No insulin issues or agricultural disease. I'd say not just for overweight peeps. In fact I believe babies are born in ketosis and breastmilk is high in fat like this.

I LOVE keto. Me and my husband switched to keto few months back and almost straight away noticed the difference. My husband lost his little belly and I have no more cellulite, which I couldn't get rid of for years even though I am quite fit! But there is more to that, which is actually a very serious reason to follow keto. We have discovered that my father in law has grade 4 cancer and he is on keto now. All the food they buy is organic. His disease was progressing scarily fast, from a healthy person he got to the state where he can't walk as cancer got to his bones within less than 3 months. Doctors were useless as they couldn't locate the source, so in the meantime me and my husband suggested keto as we've done a lot of research and found that cancer is fed by sugar. So our dad is now stable. He is actually getting better. It's slow, but it's a progress! Thanks to everyone who promotes correct keto.

I decided to being today. My weight is 240lbs. My doctor said I should weigh at least under 180lbs or so. According to the BMI scale. I’m obese. I really am committed to change my diet and start something new. Thank you for this information.

OMG! Really? Wow! I just discovered keto and I'm so excited but I'm kinda poor and I'm a vegetarian. But I decided to give up bread and starch. It's ruining my life!
Kasey Davis Dentistry I didn’t get the keto flu. I was expecting to but I did have some liquid trace minerals and added tons of salt to my water. I watched videos by dr Berg about keto and keto flu. As well as videos by Thomas Lauer (I don’t think I spelled that right). I did back off on the salt and noticed that my ankle swelled up a lot. Added more salt (a coupe shakes in the mouth 😂) in the morning as no swelling.
Jade Lee I was vegetarian while in high school. And I was gaining weight no matter how much I worked out. And I went to the gym every morning to run a mile and lift weights. After I went on Atkins I lost 7lbs in one week! But I’m not trying to tell you to eat meat. There is a RUclips who has several videos on doing vegan keto. Her name is Ruth May. If you are having hunger issues it’s probably that you need more fat. I’m happy to trouble shoot with you if you like. Since I was vegetarian for 8 years (ages ago) and went back to a normal carb loaded diet after Atkins, I have always had blood sugar issues. I’d get shaky and sweaty and get tunnel vision. Since going on keto I don’t have that. I’ve combined keto with intermittent fasting. I don’t eat from 6pm till 9am when I have a bullet proof coffee. And that coffee keeps me satisfied till lunch. A huge salad and tons of olive oil, if you do eggs toss a bunch into every meal and there ya go. Cheap easy keto. Keep watching vids and asking questions. Like I said I’m happy to chat about what I’ve learned so far. But those you tubers and this channel are great resources.

When I was on keto in November, I lost weight so fast and I felt amazing. I didn’t feel depressed no more, never ever was bloated, no acne, my hair got thicker, I just felt so freaking amazing and beautiful for the first time ever in my entire life. I am 27.
But, I failed at the diet because I started going to foods that I could afford and should have been more careful with the ingredients. Hidden sugars were the main cause. I am someone who is trying to get over a sugar addiction. Years and years of binging on sugar foods, my body is extremely addicted. The beginning of keto I was fine but as I started getting on a budget and had to buy cheap foods, I noticed my body getting more and more irritated and I started craving. But I didn’t stop. I kept going. But then I started getting stronger cravings and gave in.
This time I need to be way more careful with the ingredients in foods. I have a better job and I will be able to stick to buying foods that are better for me and that doesn’t have any hidden carbs or sugars.
I can do it. I loved keto and I felt freakin amazing, I can’t even describe how I felt. Just pure control and amazing feel. Never felt it before. No matter what lifestyle I tried, keto is my kind of life.

Oh girl! I was a strong Ketosis eater until November, I’ve lost 30 pounds but I’ve been yoyoing for the last two months a week on keto then splurging for two weeks! Well today was my first day on a bone broth cleanse and I’m ready to kick ass again and lose the remaining 35 pounds! I just love your message and you give me the strength I need to kick butt again! I'm four days into this keto diet and there's been many times I feel like I might as well be dead and/or could punch a kitty....
Before you guys jump my case, I do not actually harm(or want to harm them)....but prior to this diet, I've been known to go very hangry if I skip a meal. The first three days(keto flu?), I had no energy and my brain was foggy, plus I was irritable with my migraine that would set in. Today, I am having a better day and do feel a little better getting off all those sugars I would consume.
I would used to drink Soda and sweet tea non-stop all day, and would almost never drink any water at all. Now, four days later, cannot seem to keep my water glass full. I weighed 365 lbs on friday, weighed this morning at 350 lbs....goal is 250 lbs by this time next year!
WOW that is incredible progress!!!! and you dont have to worry about my followers everyone here is extremely SWEET like the sweetest people in the world! we know you wouldnt harm a kitty! lol :) Good luck!!! once you are past that initial phase it will be smooth sailing.

I agree 100%. I don't understand why anyone would take the time to be rude. She's a natural at teaching.. very easy to listen to.
According to people who have been doing keto for a long, long time, you should NOT do intermittent fasting until you've been doing keto at least 3 months to make sure your body is completely adapted. If you fast the moment you start doing keto it can cause shock to your body since a lot of changes are already going on.
YESSSSS waiting for fat adaption is the best way to start fasting!

@@AshleySalvatori What about if we did intermittent fasting before and our body is used to it ? I try keto with my fasting as well and I actually enter ketosis within that week. Should I expect a crash??🤔
I waited about a month or two and i was fine. Up to the 20:4 cycle
KETO 😆✌🏻is honestly the first meal plan that I've been able to follow… At first I didn't feel so great but now I feel fabulous and I feel much lighter!😆✌🏻💫✨💛💫✨
I am 16 and I had to bring my body fat down for body definition. In only two months I went from 14% body fat to 9% I highly recommend
I'm kicking myself into keto journey but watching all the videos I agree, we've been lied to. I was eating healthy quote unquote and 2 hrs in the gym which got 26 lbs off fast. But began to plateau which got me feeling down. Came across keto videos and I must say those doing it on these RUclips videos have clear skin/vibrant eyes/happy personalities! On day 3 and haven't craved sweets or carbs, wonder if fruit was triggering my sweet cravings...duh, YES!!! Any way, lost 5 lbs in 2 days and haven't been to the gym. I'll start back in the gym next week but this week just adjusting to my body going into ketosis. I feel I found something that is going to work for me!!!

Ashley Salvatori I came across the 3 day egg fast to get myself into ketosis. Yesterday was day 3 and when I weighed this morning after I woke up total lost 8 lbs!!! Today I start my keto lifestyle...sugar cravings are gone too! I'm watching your videos to just stay motivated & get educated. Hey, I'm interested in starting the keto diet. Would you mind if I ask for your insight on it 6 months later? I'm skeptical, again just like other people, of the amount of fat consumption. Also, what is the 3 day egg fast you mentioned? Any tips would help because I literally don't even know where to begin or what to plan for meals! Sounds awesome. Thanks!

Do you need to count everything you eat? I heard that on a keto diet you can eat what you want as long as its low carb and high fat

If it's for weight loss then you should loosely limit what you eat, but ONLY after your adaptation period. Until you're fully fat adapted (that is you can properly derive energy from fat) just make sure your net carbs (excluding fiber) are 20g or less for the whole day and other than that eat as much meat and fat as you want, but don't rely on processed food. Buy cheap fatty cuts of meat and cook them yourself. People will talk of too much protein kicking you out of ketosis because of the process of gluconeogenesis - where the body creates glucose (sugar) from protein - but this is a misunderstanding and it's actually lack of fat from eating too lean of meats (supplement with butter if need be) that causes this. Gluconeogenesis is demand driven, meaning that the body only creates as much glucose from protein as is needed, well if you're not giving you're body enough fat it will still take care of it's energy needs by making glucose from protein. And especially in the first bit, you're body won't be very proficient at utilizing fat so you will need a lot more than you will down the road. Hope this helps clear things up. :)

Thank you. I got the Magnesium, Electrolytes and Multivitamin and started using them Day 1. I felt limited to no signs of Keto Flu.
I’m 5 days in and 6 pounds down! I can’t wait to see where this takes me. I also started intermittent fasting pretty much right out of the gate.
At times, the energy I feel is somewhat euphoric. I’m getting so much more done now and I’m finding I wake up with no grogginess. This is truly amazing!

I also have PCOS and was too recommended to do the keto diet. I'm just going to start it. How is the keto working out for you? Have you seen any improvements for symptoms? I did go on a vegan diet and it did help with some symptoms but I just couldn't do it any more. I crave meat and cheese on a daily!

I had six pregnancies in my thirties but weight gain only became a problem with my exhaustion and picking foods and sugar. I need to lose some weight because of my pain issues. Because of arthritis, my once incredibly physical being: dancing, running up and down the stairs chasing my eight children has come to a halt osteoarthritis, two knee replacements four c sections hand and foot surgery and back surgery plus bilateral trochanteric bursitis pain. I have ballerina feet which are so painful yet I am determined to live to the fullest. I think losing weight will help me manage my pain better so my son suggested the Keto diet. I do not have a big appetite but I am addicted to sweets the hardest thing to cut out probably more addictive than heroine. I am at a point now that I must do it.

It’s not so much about being joyous, it’s about people like me as a provider that have to spend sooo much time with my patients correcting false knowledge they acquired from the Net and RUclips!!! Fucking junk science mixed in with the dipshit people, and let’s not forget the dumb ass doctors, that spew information that isn’t entirely accurate!! Wtf!!!!!!
Mike Lee I understand the frustration as a fellow provider. However, very few doctors know squat about stuff like this. We just recycle patients in the hospital; same people keep coming back for htn & dm and no one talks to them about diets other than the "standard" ones

When I was younger I actually did this naturally. I just ate low carb and stayed away from certain food. I had great success lost 45lbs in just over 2 months..i was also doing 25 min HIIT work outs (Advocare Can You 24, Shaun T T-25 etc.) Here I am 5 yrs later life has gotten the better of me and I am ready to make this change for life! We can do this!! Thanks for the video! 😍

I started a keto diet again today. I went into keto when I started eating plant based after like 3 days unintentionally. I intermittent fast as well. I lost 26 lbs in two months. Still losing. I'm sure it'll be easy for me to get in to keto considering I don't eat much sugar

I can't remember how many times I've read nutritionists comments in magazines saying that keto isn't sustainable or isn't healthy & I just want to slap them silly. After one year, losing 50lbs & cutting my blood pressure meds in half I will never go back to eating sugar & starches. I have so much more energy now. It really has changed every aspect of my life.

I dropped 26 lbs in 48 days on lazy keto. I didn't focus on high fat, but I did cut carbs.
So, no red meat, dairy, sugars, carbs, garbage foods, grazing in between meals...chicken and eggs are ok.
Here's what really did it,
Intermittent fasting!
Skipping breakfast and having a healthy-low carb meal at 1 or 2 pm then again at 6pm.
No eating in between.
It was hard at first but after a week things became easier.
Now I'm in maintenance mode.
I'll even enjoy an occasional keto pizza, or keto chocolate cake.
If I can do it, anyone can.
Great tips! I'm getting married in March so I pray with Keto I can reach my goal❤

I just started keto today is day 6! I use the carb manager app as well... before keto I was trying to lose weight by the standard calorie deficit and i was tracking calories using MyFitnessPal. I love keto so far because I feel so much less hungry and deprived!

Cook with coconut or olive oil. Avoid trans fats, be careful with fruits because of the fructose which is metabolised in the liver and can lead to a fatty liver, ditch the rice and pasta, donuts, cookies etc, chicken with skin left on, bacon, eggs, beef, no cows milk, no yogurt even plain Greek, intermittent fasting, ACV, fish, liver, cheese, avoid stress to prevent cortisol, lots of veggies.

Thank you so much. Right now I am really confused about how to figure out if I am getting enough fats. I just ate dinner and had a hand-size piece of rotisserie chicken, and a mixture of about 1 cup of bok choy, asparagus and broccoli cooked in coconut oil. I'm having a real hard time finding fats because I don't like ranch, sour cream, white sauces, or cheese. Any suggestions besides cooking in coconut oil or MCT? Honestly, I've never liked the way butter tasted.

I’m having such a hard time doing the fasting because I am a nurse and work night shift so my schedule sucks sometimes I’ll be awake for 24 hours
I’m currently on Keto now (it’s my third day) and I’m pretty sure I’m going through ketosis but I’ve actually gained weight rather than losing it... And when I watched this video I understood exactly why I might have been gaining this weight.
I was extremely overwhelmed about the whole process since I don’t know much about macros or how to calculate them... When u mentioned to focus on my carbs first then I realized I was so busy getting my fats I kinda forgot about the carbs a bit...

I'm trying to wrap my mind around keto. It seems to be similar to whole 30 but many whole 30 compliant veggies can be high in carbs. I'm struggling with the fats aspect seems u cook your proteins with fat rich healthy oils. And your veggies for that matter.
I’ve found your videos and I am so so thankful for that💗💗💗 I started drinking pruvit after doing tons of research into how to start keto and you have been a HUGE inspiration to me. I went from having solid muscle to gaining a hundred lbs after having a baby and miscarriages. I’m so SO thankful for your channel.

me too! whenever I eat carbs, I always feel hungry. but when I go into ketogenic diet, i feel good.
I’ve stopped having cravings for food at all. I’m just not hungry after I have breakfast and the electrolytes I’ve been having I’ve now heard is no good that Powerade zero is no good?
Trisha L I love Powerade zero. Everyone reacts differently to artificial sweeteners so it may not work for you. It does not have a significant amount of electrolytes. I add some no salt to it.

I am on day 8, started at 286 now am 274. I am not counting fat just count carbs and eat 3 meals a day. less than that I wont do because I dont want my metabolism to go to slow down. some parts of this diet are too confusing to me so I am just simplifying it for my own needs. i eat at 6 am, noon, and 6 pm, with a 12 hour fast overnight. thats all I am going to do. i used to eat all day long and into the night all carbs and sweets. its a wonder I am still alive. now I feel so much better.

I have to change my lifestyle, I need open heart surgery, but the surgeon told me he would not touch me right now, I'm 61yrs old, I'm only 5ft 6" tall and weigh 294lbs also have a diagnosis of Congestive heart failure and holding enormous amount of fluid. I absolutely must change my lifestyle. I can't walk for exercise, as arthritis in my joints is to painful. I have always loved my carbs, breads, potatoes, chips and the chex mix snacks, and over consumed all of them. I KNOW this must be a thing of the PAST. I saw this Dr. Tuesday, yesterday I ate boiled eggs and fresh cucumber from my garden. I know I need to be growing more greens like kale and collards and spinach now. I love to juice and growing these greens will help me do that. Today I have fasted, had my coffee and drinking water, but I am about to go juice me a cucumber, celery, and some cabbage. it is that usual time I eat and my gut is screaming FEED ME NOW, i BELIEVE i WILL ADD SOME SEA SALT AND APPLE CIDER VINEGAR TO MY WATER ALSO. I make my own sauerkraut and frequently use as a condiment with my food for gut health. thnx for your info, you've been a gr8 help to me. I subbed you, rang ur bell and looking forward to more of ur content. plz tell me why carrots are a no no.

Aloha Ashley! I have been on the Keto diet 10 days & lost 12lbs. My brother lost 45lbs. Thank you for the tip about magnesium & not sleeping. I was a sugar junkie & lactose intolerant (still drank milk)!! I had ongoing female problems/migraines, all that is gone, in a week!! @@thedailylife8982 I cut ALL carbs and started taking Phentermine/Topomax Which is (Qsmia), which is REALLY expensive, but not the Phen/Topo combo, that is really reasonably priced, and (same thing) I was already taking Topomax for migraines, so doc added 1 phentermine per day to "mix"..Also this is NOT phen/phen combo from yrs ago that is so dangerous & got outlawed! The Phen/Topo KILLED my hunger, I had to "remember" to eat...BUT, Prescription meds should be discussed at length with your Dr. If a person is obese, that is very dangerous for your body, your heart, heart attacks, strokes, etc all come from being obese...so you have to weigh the consequences of being heavy v.s. medications. But! I have been on keto diet before WITHOUT the meds, & lost appetite within 3 days, carbs CAUSE hunger!! Once they are out of your body, you lose appetite, & lose tons of water weight. I checked keto books out from library, followed recipes ,& tips and followed this channel's tips. I got rid of ALL crappy food in house too, anyway, thats a start!

Me and my husband both work full time and have three kids so it’s hard to keep up eating healthy but we really need to get our butts in gear and get healthy again.

It's been going pretty well. I will say it's really hard to stick to when we are with family and don't want to be rude (both of our families are amazing cooks and would be very offended if we didn't eat what they made as they cook out of love), but most of the time, with preparation, it's pretty easy. I feel as though I'm hanging on to fat because I'm nursing, so the weight isn't falling off, but the habits are more of what I was after and I think when I'm done nursing it will go faster!

People saying its confusing. Just Google a list of "Non Starchy Carbs" you can view on Google by images if thats easier than a list. Keto is a "Low Non Starchy Carb" lifestyle. No Starchy carbs allowed. When she talks about Fat, she is referring to "good fats" meaning Avocados, Butter, cream, olive oil, avocado oil, etc. Google 'good fats'. Hope this helps.

I’m just starting the keto diet, but I’ve been doing intermittent fasting and it’s amazing!!! I’m have a bad problem with snacking and intermittent fasting helps me so much! Keto so far has kept me full too!

I felt like it was imperative for me to subscribe to your channel, Ashley. You explained the ketogenic diet in such an articulate and sincere way that I feel like I truly want to pursue this new lifestyle. I've suffered from a variety of eating disorders for most of my life, ranging from anorexia to stress eating. I never could find that balance. I firmly believe that the ketogenic diet will allow me to find that hidden balance, eliminate cravings for unhealthy foods, and most of all, happiness. I've always aimed to have a lean, fit physique, and exercise has always been one of my favorite hobbies until I became deathly ill several months ago from complications related to anorexia. I'm glad I had the self-realization in my arsenal to help me overcome that horrific mental hurdle triggered by chronic stress and anxiety. I want to become healthy again, both physically and mentally, and the results I've seen from you and other people that strongly committed to the keto diet will act as my incentive.
Not everyone wants to lose weight a lot of us want to lose being so sick from processed food and fast food that’s all high in carbs and fat and sugar! For me the carbs and the sugar is what is slowing killing me! I know because I have chronic pain syndrome. We want to lose inflammation and we want to keep from getting diabetes or getting it again I’ve personally had gestational diabetes and I’ve been told I can get it again and my blood sugar was 145 before fasting then going for a blood draw! I was so sick that I consumed a Naked drink then went to get my blood draw and I’m blood sugar count was 145, one thing since starting keto I’ve had more energy with certain breakfast a day and lunch some days I’ve already messed up my I’ve got my carb set at 34g a day, I’ve cut out pasta, rice and bread and bananas, apples, carrots and milk and almond milk too and I’ve cut out all processed boxed foods and fast food and soda. I’ve cut out a whole lot I’ve lost 3 pounds and I’m 123 when I was 126. No big deal. My macros are different because I’m 123 pounds and I don’t want to lose or get below 98 pounds I’ve weighed 98 pounds and I was super tone and flexible too and I was 21 years old also and I was no more than 112 till I was 32 years old.
You are absolutely right! many people follow the keto diet for reasons other then weight loss!!! but most of my followers are working on weight loss goals that is why this video is aimed at providing info in that regard.

It's not a 'carb free' lifestyle, it is a low non starchy carb lifestyle but it sounds like your pretty disciplined. Good for you, wish I could say the same. I'm on keto, if I eat starchy carbs once, my cravings come back. 😂😂

Here's what I did starting 2 weeks ago. Very easy to adjust. Basically, breakfast and lunch I now do no carb or good carb only. Dinner is anything I normally ate before, except I cut way back on the starchy veggies. It might be better to have my main (carb meal) at lunch instead of dinner, so I don't ever feel starved. I'm Type 2 and had to change my eating habits. Doing this cut out 2/3 of the bad carbs I was eating. Maybe after I do this a few weeks, I might try to go full Keto, but I've been eating a very high carb diet for 60 years. Full Keto at my age? Probably not. Love my chips and sweets! My weight has never been a problem. Hopefully I can go off my Metformin soon.

I find ditching carbs very hard. Carbs are addictive and I can never get thru the first two weeks. I end up going on a carbfest and ruining my progress.

I started again last night by making some green and yellow beans. Then dumping a tin of smoked kippers onto that and topped it all off with olive oil marinated artichoke hearts and cracked black pepper. It sounds like a mess but it actually looked kind of fancy and was delicious.
I should mention that I am a type 1 diabetic so cutting carbs is more important than ever now that I am almost fifty. My daughter also has type 1, so does my dad and his mom did. We're keeping it in the family. Hah.
