Lucky you. In the 60s i was 7 yrs old. I went with my father to Potong Pasir market. He was giving a speech. After that the crowd parted to let his black car through. My father and i were on the other side of his back car window where he sat. He looked out as the car was moving and he waved. My father waved back at him. My father treasured this moment. He loved mr Lee.

Last month i traveled Singapore ...that country still so strong with their own system ...and i didnt have any bad issue coz of my skin ..i am a south asian man.but when i was in europe i had some discrimination issues coz of my dark brown Skin colour ..respect u great country Singapore ❤

Im from India, I have visited Singapore twice & I have become a fan of LKY since day 1, i have read all books, his speeches. I don’t think I have ever come across a more articulate, kind, honest, sharp, rational & HUMANE person than him. I am into History & Psychology and I have studied hundreds of leaders and their psychology behind building nations and creating history. But he is the closest to perfection human that I have come across. I really wish I would have a chance to meet him.People of Singapore are very lucky to have such an amazing Inspiration and they should do everything possible to continue making their country great for Mr LKY ❤ and not let his legacy & dream die.

Been to Merlion several times in hopes to catch a glimpse of Mr.LKY 😊
I actually saw him and his wife decades ago on a quiet sat late morning nearby the merlion. They were dressed in pink top and white shorts couple attire and were surrounded by bodyguards. I didn't go up to say hello like the man in the video did.

Most people don't know that Lee Kuan Yew is the original creator of the Singapore mother tongue known as Singlish. For proof, just refer to what he said to this American guy.

No, Singlish is NOT Mother tongue of Singaporeans, it’s just a common speech/dialect that most of its people speak today(interEthnic), the real mother tongue (a language that teach to the child at birth) are: 50% solely Chinese dialects, 25% mixed Mandarin/English, the rest 22% are either Tamil, Malay,or mixed British English.
Please remove this / edit this misinformation!!! LKY did not create Singlish and most definitely not speak it himself! Singlish came naturally from an amalgamation of language and cultures in Singapore!

Worse yrs ago. Bus conductor also will scold you if you dont board fast enough or dont pay correct fare. You wont believe but the Coutrtesy Campaign changed that. But nowadays bec of the influx of foreigners frm 3 rd world everything is going down the drain.
