It's hard to draw ugly people, you gotta go out of your way to add imperfections. Because the standard model of characters whether they are protagonist or antagonist or just a random passerby are all the same. If translated to 3D everyone is a supermodel. You can go out and see so many fat people, small eyes, square face, big nose etc. But these designs need to be deliberately selected by the artist and it's exhausting to draw details everytime so they just stick to standard model.

I really relate to the song “I’m sorry I’m too cute” because at some point in my life I decided social and gender norms to make me happy and I often motive myself by saying I’m “the prettiest boy on the planet” (obvious lie but works). After hearing about the backstory of the realized how much I related to her. It’s a real shame when I watched a review on the anime she’s in I hated her.

I relate to chizuru a lot tbh. Although I’ve been mostly confident about my looks (on the face mostly) since i was a kid, i was very shy, introverted, and was basically the perfect target for bullies and ‘mean girls’ to pick on and manipulate however they wanted, especially since I wasn’t able to confidently stand up for myself. That issue went away as i got older and became more confident, but i was still the same introverted and lack of energy girl, i was awkward around people, my face looked awkward cause I didn’t know what expressions to make. Now I’m getting better, and i can confidently say that I’m definitely pretty and always have been, and now I’m able to stand up for myself.

This is one of the first Chizuru's songs ever released, featuring Capi, even before we were sure of her identity and her oshi's identity. So far, the listeners seem moved by the fact that she's motivated by her oshi, but I've heard a lot about parasocial relationships in the last few years, so I can't help but find her character problematic in this aspect. But i also want to add that chizuru stalked aizo and made pictures of him in secret, and that she also made "expose" pics of hiyori with lipxlip which got hiyori ganged up againsed from other fans (while still pretending to be her friend and to protect her) and even after the problem was resolved, chizuru still stalked him and made those pictures unbeknownst to him (and its not unlikely that she would hit someone again, what if hiyori wasn't her friend? What if there was another girl talking or beeing close to lipxlip? )
Yeah that's right, she did more questionable things in the anime. She said she didn't get close to the idols because she's respecting their space, but then she takes pictures without their consent contradicting herself as someone who values her idols personal space.
i hate chizuru's actions are just forgiven like that just because the mc is too nice, she didnt just made a small mess up, she genuinely wants to hurt everyone for her sake..lipxlip doesnt deserve her to be their fan. only lipxlip forgiven her because the mc did but i will never forgive chizuru. i wanna believe theyre friends but i cant, you cant just fake being friendly to your friend just because youre a fangirl of a guy who dislikes girls who is just doing their job as an idol. and finally someone said the issue isnt much solved properly, it only got solved because mc said so. I did love the heroine from the start until that part. i dont care of what chizuru did is out of jealousy, she should know she is risking lipxlip as well since she knows well to make a scandal. seeing chizuru made me understand more why aizou hates girls. chizuru is one of those girls. its sad aizou has more development learning how to trust the mc despite of his troubles in the past compared to chizuru who stayed unapologetic about her actions.

As I wrote in another long comment, from the moment Hiyori was introduced in the song Non-Fantasy, I thought we would have another love triangle between the two idols and her (even if, perhaps, with more focus on comedy than romance itself), but I don't know what HoneyWorks is going for anymore with these characters. At the very least, after knowing Yuujirou's and Aizou's struggles in connecting with people (specially Aizou, since he has problems with women in particular), Hiyori seemed like a good reference of femininity, whether as a friend or as a romantic interest. I can't help but have the feeling that a lot of potential in music and story was lost when they introduced Chizuru and Nagisa.

I don't think you can exactly choose to be ugly; you can't choose what features you're born with, but you can definitely choose to take care of yourself such as having good hygiene, taking care of your hair and general appearance. Not changing your natural features, and not that anyone needs to put on makeup, but just feeling good about yourself and feeling clean & fresh. What can really be considered ugly is somebody who doesn't take care of themselves at all, or care about what they look like or wear. Someone who *chooses* not to put effort into those things may be ugly. However, being in a depression or really not feeling like anything at all, leading to poor hygiene and not grooming yourself at all, is understandable, but that does not mean you don't have some responsibility (depends on how far you are into it) to try to get better.
If u are someone who is confident about ur appearance, u will see urself in this girl. If u aren’t confident then u will see this girl as a “mean girl”

Interesting. I only knew of her based on the anime. I really liked the anime until the end, where they completely excuse her actions and Hiyori paints herself as the real problem. I'm guessing Honeyworks believes in the principles of idol culture, which is a shame, but understandable I suppose. The only strange thing was that the idols themselves didn't seem to agree, so I almost wonder if it was meant to portray that the culture stems from behind the scenes. That would actually paint Hiyori badly though, which I don't think they want, so I don't really know.

Great video! But i also want to add that chizuru stalked aizo and made pictures of him in secret, and that she also made "expose" pics of hiyori with lipxlip which got hiyori ganged up againsed from other fans (while still pretending to be her friend and to protect her) and even after the problem was resolved, chizuru still stalked him and made those pictures unbeknownst to him (and its not unlikely that she would hit someone again, what if hiyori wasn't her friend? What if there was another girl talking or beeing close to lipxlip? )
Yeah that's right, she did more questionable things in the anime. She said she didn't get close to the idols because she's respecting their space, but then she takes pictures without their consent contradicting herself as someone who values her idols personal space.
Shes finding comfidence in makeup, i think its cute, she found herself ❤❤

seeing chizuru made me understand more why aizou hates girls. chizuru is one of those girls. its sad aizou has more development learning how to trust the mc despite of his troubles in the past compared to chizuru who stayed unapologetic about her actions.
I personally think she's still redeemable but I can definitely see where ur coming from

@@rinxmacaroni2085 I see your point and I agree. I assume Chizuru is just going to be continually pushed as the "relatable fangirl character" (she, indeed, seems to resonate with a lot of people). I wish I could have more sympathy towards her admiration for Aizou, as a LIP×LIP fan myself, but I couldn't as soon as I realized it was obsession. As I wrote in another long comment, from the moment Hiyori was introduced in the song Non-Fantasy, I thought we would have another love triangle between the two idols and her (even if, perhaps, with more focus on comedy than romance itself), but I don't know what HoneyWorks is going for anymore with these characters. At the very least, after knowing Yuujirou's and Aizou's struggles in connecting with people (specially Aizou, since he has problems with women in particular), Hiyori seemed like a good reference of femininity, whether as a friend or as a romantic interest. I can't help but have the feeling that a lot of potential in music and story was lost when they introduced Chizuru and Nagisa.

All she did is made Chizuru get jealous because she's pretty and popular and the fact all that girl does is talk about she has a boyfriend and I barely saw her as the best friend character and even Chizuru might do that better until I saw the twist.
Also Nagisa, she just feels like a typical character. A cliche tbh.

I don't think you can exactly choose to be ugly; you can't choose what features you're born with, but you can definitely choose to take care of yourself such as having good hygiene, taking care of your hair and general appearance. Not changing your natural features, and not that anyone needs to put on makeup, but just feeling good about yourself and feeling clean & fresh. What can really be considered ugly is somebody who doesn't take care of themselves at all, or care about what they look like or wear. Someone who *chooses* not to put effort into those things may be ugly. However, being in a depression or really not feeling like anything at all, leading to poor hygiene and not grooming yourself at all, is understandable, but that does not mean you don't have some responsibility (depends on how far you are into it) to try to get better.

Interesting. I only knew of her based on the anime. I really liked the anime until the end, where they completely excuse her actions and Hiyori paints herself as the real problem. I'm guessing Honeyworks believes in the principles of idol culture, which is a shame, but understandable I suppose. The only strange thing was that the idols themselves didn't seem to agree, so I almost wonder if it was meant to portray that the culture stems from behind the scenes. That would actually paint Hiyori badly though, which I don't think they want, so I don't really know.
Honestly, I think it could've been written better.

Watching this video, for the most part she come of somewhat sympathetic while still noting some flaw. Come to end when he trouble hiyori and punch hiyori for trying make up with her though. Yeah, absolutely unsympathetic there. Cross the line too far and for no good reason.
