I recently rewatched the animated version, and by the end I was surprised why in my teenage years I ever thought her weak. Strength doesn't always equate swinging swords and kicking arse. To endure that harsh environment with a smile and a hope that never falters, that is strength.
They like to blame an abuse victim for not fighting her abusers and that's so unfair and so ignorant to any psychological damage that years of abuse cause. 3:04 I feel like that thing she uses to carry the buckets of water perfectly symbolizes the weight on her shoulders of losing her father and being a servant
Someone else commented that it shows another strength of hers.... physical strength. She could easily take the stepfamily on 🤣 it's like advanced weights in a pump class or something, but she's by nature very patient and kind and it takes a lot for her to have 'had enough.' Even then, she fights more with a simple set of words and rebelling/walking away rather than punching anyone (not that I couldn't understand if she went that route 🤣).
I wish they had included the line about the stepfamily being "prostrate with grief"--it's such a natural cover for their unwillingness to contribute and Ella would never have thought to doubt they were suffering, so it does a good job of masking the transition from member of the household to servant.
This scene should have been in the film! It explains her love of butterflies! Her ball gown was inspired by her mother’s gown, and the butterflies represent her father!
Oh, her gift from her father is seen at the end of this video. So cute and so kind of that man to let her keep it. I really wish that all this deleted scenes was on the dvd bonus.

In the funeral scene, They are all wearing black except Cinderella, who is wearing her usual work blue dress, to show how cruel the stepmom treats her that she can’t even wear something else for this special occasion. The stepmother is also the first to leave to show she doesn’t care about the father as much as Ella does. I love how the movie captures so much detail!
If this scene wasn’t deleted, even though the movie is bit longer, but it provides the full picture of Cinderella, I am so sad that this scene was deleted. I enjoy to watch every bit of it even though it may be a bit longer.
Such an amazing scene! To bad it was cut! And I love how the merchant just let Ella have the only piece she wanted, even thought she was prepared to pay for it!
I adore how this movie celebrates kindness as the most powerful magic there is. Even the pawnbroker shows it by letting Ella keep a memento so precious for her.
Geee watching this movie for a second time, this live action made Ella more human and no damsel in distress, she was brave in many ways and put others even if they hurt or mistreated her first before her!! Thank you disney!
How is she not a damsel in distress? She got rescued by the Prince, and she would wallow in sadness forever if the mices didnt help her, and the guard noticing her singing, she is a damsel in distress, the most traditional kind too
Lady Tremaine's face when Ella was picking those buckets of water would've made anyone want to punch her in the face...I know Ella promise to her mother to "have courage and be kind", but I also know for sure that Ella's mother wasn't expecting to see her daughter not doing anything about the abuse...after all, isn't standing up to herself also considered courage?
Perhaps it must be something to consider. "Be careful to what you say to your kids". My parents always told me to never start a fight and be kind, but also to never let anyone to beat/mistrate me.
I disagree with you guys. There was no child protective services back then, Ella had no other options. Either she stays in her stepmother's house as a servant or she lives on the street. Besides, I always think the most courageous thing to do is to be kind when others are unkind to you.
@@monkiram I agree with you about Ella having no option but stay. But still, she could've rebelled in so many ways. Spoiling the food, burning the clothes when ironing, cleaning bad, being clumpsy... My brother did that and he avoided doing chores many times! XD.
@@vilwarin5635 I doubt she'll get out of her chores by doing them badly. They'd just make her redo them until she does them right and/or beat her for any permanent damages.
if only you understand that these scene you didn't put in, give more heartbreak and soul to the film, I don't even get it why they don't put these scenes
i think this scene will add more meaning to the scene where Tremaine said to Ella “because you are young and innocent and good” cos Tremaine pays attention in which at this point Tremaine realized that Ella is all good
I actually love how Ella wore a pretty, hopeful color at her fathers funeral, and does anyone else think that her stepmother had something to do with the accident that caused her fathers death?
To be honest, this is the best Disney remake. Cinderella is a motivation towards anyone who suffers mistreatment and abuse. Seeing her not being included at diner, not even getting a black dress for her own father's funeral is just damn awful. And after all the mistreatment, Cinderella is just too kind and forgives the three crows. Cinderella could not throw them out, maybe she was just too kind to let them live on the street. And I think that we should not admire Cinderella for her beauty that goes with kindness, but with scenes like this, where she is shown to be emotional, not a romance-hungry damsel in distress.
I can completely understand where ella stands and how she is feeling I love it when she sees the stepmother is gone walking away from the tinker and she takes a look sees a special present from her father and that she rescues it and hides it with her in the attic
Ahw now that would be very sad altogether if it was kept in the film. Sure the film would have been on for 2 hours but still it would be cool if there was a way where the viewers can choose the directors cut or the original theatrical version like what they did with Kate & Leopold for example.
Not once does anyone from the stepfamily comfort Ella when she truly needs it. Everyone deals with letting someone close go forever in they're own way but leaving her alone in such a hard time is wrong especially when knowing the way they treat her they should at least be avible to be there for her somehow. Such a strong girl❤❤
I am glad they cut this because it kinda humanizes Lady Tremaine as a grieving widow. But the movie version I see her more as what she should be which is essentially a gold digger. She played Ella's father and tolerated Ella and when he dies she was just another reminder to Lady Tremaine that she is back to being poor and was another mouth to feed. And she was envious that Ella was beautiful and young because she wishes she could go back and has it easier like Ella did.
A very real question, and where is God when all the sufferings took place? I used to be religious but many unfairnesss that took place in my life made me lost all my faith.
God is always there and he loves us. If her situation had improved earlier, she wouldn't have met the prince and gotten the happy ending that we all love so much. She was already loving, compassionate and patient but I'm sure this ordeal only increased her resilience and her belief in herself and allowed her to grow as a person and that's also true with many of the hardships each of us face. Her patience paid off in the end and she not only got out of the terrible situation but found the one she loves as well.
@Queenofawesome25 jsyk in other countries' versions "Cinderella""s mother (the fairy godmother) reincarnates as a small animal that helps in "Cinderella"'s chores, whereas the step-family discovers and then eats the animal (depending whether it's the edible kind: China has a goldfish, the Philippines a crab) her spirit endures till the ball part, where she helps for the last time
I love how in this movie they had Ella wear a corset and still be able to be strong and resilient. Corsets are very misrepresented (watch Karolina Zebrowska)
Not really, I mean they made Lily wear an ill fitting corset in the ball scene as she had difficulty breathing and eating when wearing it, you can watch the whole ball scene and once you started noticing how hard she's trying to breath it's distracting (ironically they even shrunken her waist in the trailer to a much smaller size but took that out that part in the movie when reporters started noticing)
I like the scene when lily hesitates and wants to pay the gift. I love her she so pretty and fit for historical movie. Pls make another this kind of movie for her
Many people thiks Ella is a weak as she doesnot stand for herself but nothing is more stronger than kindness...she remembered her promise to her mother...she loved her stepsisters ....she cherrised the house...in so much sorrow she was strong and otimistic...I learned to lot from Ella her soul is such pure and true...
It doesn't make sense to me. Ella is at an age where the household would have went to her. The step mother wouldn't have much claim to. Unlike if he had died when Cinderella was a child. Then of course it would go to the step mother because she would have been too young. That's why it was more impactful in the original. Cinderella was a child when she lost her innocence.
Whatever the father's will was or the Ella's rights to the house, they meant nothing as Ella had nobody to defend her just claims. I guess that's because
I would have loved these scenes... I have watched this Masterpiece at least 25xs The details are incredible! The British have the most talented actors in the world...
This shouldn’t have been deleted it shows just how much she had to do on her own and her grief. I cannot believe her mother almost gave away the butterfly present. That should have been in the movie
my dad passed away last month. so I know what Ella is feeling. I like to go to work and do chores just to take my mind off it. even if it's just for a few hours
Laraine Thorpe, it is a tough club to be in. I sound like Bindi Irwin when I say it. If my dad were alive, he would have told me that. Sadly he died on my mom's 41st birthday as my world ended. At least it had to not end.

3:04 I feel like that thing she uses to carry the buckets of water perfectly symbolizes the weight on her shoulders of losing her father and being a servant
Thats a good way of thinking about it it also symbolizes a beast of burden i believe the expression
One of the strongest characters ever in disney
I wish they had included the line about the stepfamily being "prostrate with grief"--it's such a natural cover for their unwillingness to contribute and Ella would never have thought to doubt they were suffering, so it does a good job of masking the transition from member of the household to servant.
That man was so sweet this was his joband how he made his living and he just let her take it so nice
This scene should have been in the film! It explains her love of butterflies! Her ball gown was inspired by her mother’s gown, and the butterflies represent her father!
they cut a powerful scene!! =(
Didn't they just???? That whole sequence should have remained.
Jee Penaranda too many scenes cut
Oh, her gift from her father is seen at the end of this video. So cute and so kind of that man to let her keep it.
I really wish that all this deleted scenes was on the dvd bonus.
CRIMINALLY awful choice to delete this scene.
This movie is so beautiful in so many ways, it touches the heart, Lily James and all the actors were incredible in it.. costumes & sets were stunning, beautifully shot, so emotional.. one of my favourite Disney movies ever 💕💕💕💕
Now this is deleted scene #4 that I’ve watched! The more I see the more of what could have enhanced this beautiful remake we’ve been given to enjoy.
I really enjoyed this version of the classic tale more than any of the others, even the original animated one. Thank Mr. Branagh for such a film.
He did a very good job on this movie I have to agree with you I just wish they would put all of the deleted scenes on a bonus disk and re lease it again
If you want to see "The Mourning" reinserted back into the film, please sign the petition for Walt Disney Studios and Walt Disney Home Entertainment to release an Extended Cut of Cinderella (2015). The link to the petition is available in the description. Thanks!
+Cinderella (2015) Deleted Scenes Hello : ) I'm here to ask you if you could do me a favor and write down in the descriptions, the subtitles of the 6 deleted scenes please, because it's a little hard for me to understand some words, but the man talking is not necessary, thank you so much!
Great Job Branagh! You Rule! ☺♥
Cinderella (2015) Deleted Scenes YAS!
Cinderella (2015) Deleted Scenes yessss
All the deleted scenes are brilliant!
Why do movies always cut the scenes that would’ve made the movie more interesting
not just interesting, less flat. dont get me wrong the movie was nice but it lacked a lot of depth such as this.
Cuz ITS look new for you
this movie is the definition of a perfect fairytale ✨
Another one I would add is Mirror Mirror!
i can't believe these were deleted these scenes were amazing
for me cinderella will always represent disney for me.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww mee toooo
In the funeral scene, They are all wearing black except Cinderella, who is wearing her usual work blue dress, to show how cruel the stepmom treats her that she can’t even wear something else for this special occasion. The stepmother is also the first to leave to show she doesn’t care about the father as much as Ella does. I love how the movie captures so much detail!
And how is that possible? I mean she was shedding a few tears you could see her wiping them off with her handkerchief
Ooooh the butterfly. No wonder her gown has it. That is indeed an important scene
The fact she only let she wear a black ribbon is absolutely heartbreaking
You should add all the deleted scenes back in with a extended cut edition
I did think so too!
XD.
There's a really good video by The Take on the original Cinderella movie that explains this.
ruclips.net/video/huLSdm6IH0g/видео.html
@@vilwarin5635 I doubt she'll get out of her chores by doing them badly. They'd just make her redo them until she does them right and/or beat her for any permanent damages.
casting members deserve a raise for choosing Lily James to play Cinderella
This is the only Disney princess LA movie I actually enjoyed watching, it never fails to make me cry and makes me want to evolve as a good person :)
This adds soooooo much more to the movie as a whole and makes the death of her father more of a priority than what they desired to put in.
if only you understand that these scene you didn't put in, give more heartbreak and soul to the film, I don't even get it why they don't put these scenes
i think this scene will add more meaning to the scene where Tremaine said to Ella “because you are young and innocent and good” cos Tremaine pays attention in which at this point Tremaine realized that Ella is all good
I actually love how Ella wore a pretty, hopeful color at her fathers funeral, and does anyone else think that her stepmother had something to do with the accident that caused her fathers death?
I think the financial stress of throwing parties and decorating probably didn't help him in the end.
A shame there were not in the movie. Great scenes!
Best in all the live actions ive seen so far, please make another masterpiece!
I’m praying for Snow White
I JUST realized that Daisy from Downton Abbey is an evil stepsister in this movie!! :o
So is Cinderella. She is Rose from Downton
Yeah I already knew that, it was the main thing said about her when she was cast as Cinderella.
Zoe Tuinman Oh wow. I never seen that show before I might watch it sometime why isn't it on netflix
Andrea Kim *Downton
Zoe Tuinman lily is also in Downton Abby I think
Not once does anyone from the stepfamily comfort Ella when she truly needs it. Everyone deals with letting someone close go forever in they're own way but leaving her alone in such a hard time is wrong especially when knowing the way they treat her they should at least be avible to be there for her somehow. Such a strong girl❤❤
I always cry when the father dies and the music that goes with it makes me cry harder
It was a shame this scene was cut,it added a new dimension to the story
We don't need to sign the petition. I can easily add these scenes back in myself with the proper software
plz do
very touching..the cruelty shown is heartbreaking, where was her fairy godmother then?
eating cheetos
A very real question, and where is God when all the sufferings took place? I used to be religious but many unfairnesss that took place in my life made me lost all my faith.
God is always there and he loves us. If her situation had improved earlier, she wouldn't have met the prince and gotten the happy ending that we all love so much. She was already loving, compassionate and patient but I'm sure this ordeal only increased her resilience and her belief in herself and allowed her to grow as a person and that's also true with many of the hardships each of us face. Her patience paid off in the end and she not only got out of the terrible situation but found the one she loves as well.
either being Bellatrix or the Duchess of York (Queen Mother)
@Queenofawesome25 jsyk in other countries' versions "Cinderella""s mother (the fairy godmother) reincarnates as a small animal that helps in "Cinderella"'s chores, whereas the step-family discovers and then eats the animal (depending whether it's the edible kind: China has a goldfish, the Philippines a crab)
her spirit endures till the ball part, where she helps for the last time
Ella has a gorgeous shoulder line and posture xx
I agree, I noticed that a lot when I watched this movie!
I guess that's because
Women barely had rights back then and the stepmother would rate higher on who owns the property.
I would have loved these scenes... I have watched this Masterpiece at least 25xs The details are incredible! The British have the most talented actors in the world...
Disney ought to release an uncut version of this film for those of us who appreciate these kinds of scenes and don't mind if it gets a bit longer.
Her mother and her step sister wearing fancy gown and she... Aww look at that ribbon, it shows that she has pure heart
WWWHHHYYYY CUUUT THESE SCEEENNNNEEESSSS
There was so many things in one of the books that I really wish had been in this movie.
Make the Cinderella, *A Twist In Time*
Aiyanadrew Tan yes
Well after dreams come true you can't have a third live action cinderella without the 2nd one.
BRUNACINDERLLA👠👗🏰📷🐦🐦
YES!?
Nah I'd actually be more interested in like a sequel of Anastasia meeting the baker
I love how this is a part when the step family started to be mean somebody still showed her kindness
Too painful to watch her cry. My father passed away as well, this stirred up deep emotions.
I wish they'd left these scenes in the movie. It would have made it feel more real.
this explains why her step mother destroyed that when she found it with the shoe aside from just being mean
i wish this part made the movie but I get that sometimes they have to cut scenes. It was very creative though and I liked it very much
This shouldn’t have been deleted it shows just how much she had to do on her own and her grief. I cannot believe her mother almost gave away the butterfly present. That should have been in the movie
Y’all saw how happy she got when that man gave her a small act of kindness
When you realize how sad this scene really is.
plsssss this whole deleted scene is better than the whole Camila's remake😭🏃🏼♀️
my dad passed away last month. so I know what Ella is feeling.
At least it had to not end.
coincidentally the part about the household chores was in the narration as well
May your father RIP and God bless you and all🙏🏽
Lily is depth in my sights, the core of my bliss, the heart & soul thats unparallel to this existence..✨🪞💔🌬️🌊🌊🌊🚪🌌☄️
Professor Lockhart decided to become a director after forgetting about being a wizard.
I wish they’d kept these scenes in the film, but omitted the narration. It’s very on the nose and just bluntly says what the visuals already tell us
Did anyone else besides me just want to hug Ella throughout the film and tell her everything is going to be ok?
Totally. She brings out a bit of mom energy in me :)
It was an emotional and touching part of the movie.. I wonder why such beautiful parts of the script are removed from the final movie
I am your biggest fan of yours
THE BUTTERFLY OMGG
I spy with my little eyes, a hidden Mickey at 0:45!
I just realized that Harry (Potter) is a lot like Cinderella only if she had sass and was a little boy.
It's been 6 years, can we have an extended version now? ☹️
This is so sad and heart breaking but at least we get to see something that should have been left in the movie
