steve maybe you can tell me.... have a small twelve by twenty four concrete in ground pool that has a five foot deep sump about fifteen feet from the pool - and where the pool piping comes out of. when draining a pool like this.... at what stage of water level in the pool should i go in and open the hydrostatic valve? my valve is just a manual plug that i unscrew by hand. thank you.

Is there any way to build over an empty pool to make a little underground storage area?

Hi, the worker drained out the swimming pool two weeks ago to do some repair jobs, but we had the lockdown here, all the construction work were banned till 30th July, just wondering is that ok to leave it empty till then or should I fulfill the water? It is a underground swimming pool

Long story short I built a new Inground vinyl liner pool and the paver guys didn't add enough fall and the first good rain washed all the paver dust into pool and on top of that the day I hung the liner I left because it was dark and wanted to adjust the liner the next day but when I got back to the pool the homeowner had already added water before I could attach my drain so I have a truck load of mud and paver debris in the pool with no drain do I need to have a vac running while draining ?

Hi Swimming Pool Steve. I have concrete in-ground pool (30,000) and have a concern about this very question. Unfortunately, we have noticed a family of raccoons coming over in the middle of the night to defecate into our closed pool. They are walking over the mesh cover into the middle of the pool. And they have been doing this for quite some time without us knowing. We didn't realize until we saw our cameras. I searched on google and people are saying raccoon's urine and waste can potentially carry bacteria and diseases. And unfortunately, chlorine does not kill these bacteria/germs. Do you know if this is the case? Would I need to drain my pool in this situation.

I emptied mine a quarter of the way. Hope that’s still good. Just refill now I guess and add the right chemicals

In my case, I just don't want the pool anymore. It's costing way to much to maintain. I can't afford $5000/yr to keep dumping in chems when I don't use it. What are my options? Do I back-fill with dirt?

The pool company stressed to me earlier in the year not to leave my concrete in ground pool empty for more than a week yet now I’m paying them to fit the liner they’ve left it empty for two weeks and it rained a fair bit in that time. I asked when are they finishing the pool because of this and the woman isn’t happy that I’m asking. Not impressed by them.

Draining your pool it’s worser in Florida. In California it’s ok in hot weather.

I've been looking for stories of "popped out" pools. And they all seem to be from Florida.

I drain pools everyday for pool repairs in south florida. Check the water table and remove the static plug. We have never popped a pool

I feel like it's a lie. Propaganda to get you to waste more water, no one ever gives a clear answer.
Pools eventually rot so might as well
