    Take note at how he is getting below parallel most of the time and has decent form even at 85lbs. Left his ego at the door and for that he saw great progress in the long run.

    What I love is that your as your strength goes up you can see a huge improvement in efficiency and technique, getting your elbows lower and using your lats to brace more, and much more control coming into the hole. This is awesome man and I can tell you from experience it’s great you have documented your progress so well, it’s one thing I wish I had done.
    I’ve just recently hit a couple of big goals of a 500lb low bar squat, 405 for a 5x5 and 405 for a set of 10+ is coming very soon, and I wish I had video of my progression to look back on. Watching other lifters is great motivation but there’s nothing quite like seeing where you have come from and what you have accomplished through your own hard work to keep your spirits up through injury and when things aren’t going well.
    Keep up the good work man!

I plan to reach 225 lbs for 5 reps in late july and 315 lbs for 5 reps in less than a year, then I will try to get to 400 pounds. I am also training the bench press, the deadlift, the barbell bent over row and the standing overhead press, they are all progressing really quickly and very well, I gained 9 pounds since I started in April (most of it was muscle memory).

    Shows that you don’t have to be strong in the first place when I first started to bench I was made fun of because all I could do was the bar(45lbs) but I grinded in my strength training class and after school and in just a couple of months I tripled my strength I know it’s not a lot but it’s decent for a couple of months and I will continue to get stronger when with a broken ankle I have right now. The main point is don’t let anyone tell you are weak and let the hate me motivation to push you’re self.

    • @kriskilpatrick7321
      @kriskilpatrick7321 5 лет назад +2

      levi rishel his back is pretty straight, i.e. it’s at almost the same angle as his shins throughout. My concern is the slight hitch he develops towards the middle of the video on the way up. His back initiates some of the movement getting out of the hole on the way up. It’s very common and it’s hard not to do. If he concentrates on stabilizing his core, keeping his back immobile thus removing that hitch, he will see even better results.
      As you said, he’s got some great dedication and work ethic to achieve these results. Legs require the ultimate motivation to almost everyone. He’s worked them consistently for a while now.

    Amazing squat progression. We’re did you get your powerlifting program from??

    • @olivierlazure5720
      @olivierlazure5720 5 лет назад +2

      You can do this with stronglifts 5x5, its the program I am currently using, I added 50 pounds to my squat in a month, he is progressing quickly because he is going from beginner to intermediate, at 347 he is close to 400 which would be considered advanced level, it depends on your weight though. After you reach the intermediate level, switch to madcow's 5x5 and then once you are advanced you can do what you want and make your own program to work the lifts that you want.

    How much volume did you work to get your squat up? 4x6? As you’re highest volume? Or did you do 4x12s and just showed your strength here? Also what else did you do for legs like accessories

    • @diarturkmani
      @diarturkmani 5 лет назад +2

      5x5 is always a good choice for focusing on strength yet also building muscle at the same time.

    • @MaxStrazny
      @MaxStrazny  5 лет назад +3

      Did only 5x5 up until the 275 lowbar and then I switched to a push pull legs program. I had a q and a a few months ago in which I talked about the programs I ran. And I didn’t really do much more leg accessories

    • @ismael18601
      @ismael18601 5 лет назад +1

      Max Strazny so what was your leg day like? Just a 5x5 squatting then what 5x5 deadlifts?

    • @christopherlee3064
      @christopherlee3064 5 лет назад

      @@ismael18601 it's more common to run a 1x5, 3x5, 3x3, or a 5x3 for deads if you're also doing them with squats. You can get more out of your legs that way without overly fatiguing. A 5x5 for deads is still fine to Do, but with proper warm up sets it can be a bit overkill on a squat day for most people.

    3 years late but hopefully your shoulders and scapular are good today. Depending on how you progressed overtime, low bar squats can create recurring long term shoulder, coupled with higher potential for elbow tendonitis. Long term, high bar will give you better results and longevity

      Absolutely, they don’t assist you to lift more because of the wrap but by warming up your knees and keep the blood in that area so you can workout more fluidly. I had blue knee sleeves that I think were called Raybands. It was never the same when you squatted without em. You know how you get cold if you wait in between sets too long? It helped with that so you could go ham each set with long breaks. Just my opinion though
