the fact that New Blood teased that we were finally gonna see Angel who was arguably the most moral person throughout the show confront Dex about his years of lies and all his actions only to have Dex die is why I Hated the new blood finale so much. everything else about the season I enjoyed tbh but those final few minutes ruined everything Angel should have gotten to have that Dramatic confrontation with Dex given their long standing relationship just imagine how powerful it would have been having him be the one to force Dex to confront himself and his years of lies which Hurt and killed everyone around him even those he claimed to love like Rita and Deb and in the end Angel could bring him down to earth by pointing out he's just another serial killer and he isn't as special or different as he likes to think given what he does when it comes to protecting himself Honesty if the finale had that happen instead of Harrison shooting him and it just ended on Dex being locked up like any other criminal and maybe Harrison was taken in either by Angela or maybe Angel given since he did kinda know his mother then I'd say it would have been perfect and it would have made up for the previous shows ending imo.
Their relationship was probably my favourite in the entire series. Shame they missed out the part when Angel muses if there's more to life than police work before they see Hannah McKay.
How bout that time after 10 years thinking he was dead, Angel found out Dexter faked his own death and was probably also Miami's most notorious serial killer who betrayed them all. Angel left immediately to confront the situation, while in the meantime Dexter got shot and apparently killed by his idiot son. Off screen, Angel reclined his airplane seat and popped some contraband peanut snacks whilst fiercely contemplating what he would say to Dexter in what was super definitely sure to be an epic confrontation!
Yeah still waiting on that one…..looks like we might get an answer though but I wouldn’t be surprised if they fuck it up again. I think Dexter fans are masochists because we keep coming back no matter how many times they smack us around😂. You know it’s a great character when we keep giving them more chances
Showtime cannot afford not to have this face off in Dexter: Resurrection. It has to come to ahead. Seeing they got rid of every close connection to Dexter that could ultimately bring him down. Doakes, Lundy, LaGuerta and even Deb.... Angel, Quinn and Masuka all need to be involved in the manhunt of Dexter... Angela and Iron Lake PD can wait, step aside... I can see Masuka covering for Dexter, seeing he is just as logical and scientifically inclined to look at things differently like Dexter. While Angel and Quinn act on emotions.. Angel will want to avenge Maria, Quinn would want to avenge Deb. Which leaves Masuka to muddy up the water if he so chooses too... He would be the one to mess up any evidence Dexter may leave behind.. Which is next to none. He was kinda always on the side of BHB anyway.. I'm excited to see what they come up with next. But it must end with an earned death for Dexter. A true retribution for his character. For those that didn't deserve to be effected by his actions/non-actions starting with Rita. Whom he never did pay the price for and moving on to Lumen like it was nothing... Full stop!! He can even come across Ester and Cody (they are killers in the book) Seeing he is directly responsible for Rita's death, knowing they are killers now! Would be gut punch to him. Does he put them on the table side by side (like the smuggling couple). I'm ready to see Dexter be the villain in his own story... Time for us to really SEE Dexter in all his glory... To see just how mentally and emotionally F'ed up he is.... For us the audience to be like "Wow Dexter, never saw you in that light before" That Hannibal Lecter manipulation. The as soon as you see him you are scared for the person standing next to him. Not knowing if he is going to kill the person or help them across the street. The terrifying Dexter who smiles in your face, then stabs you in the heart. The joy he gets from finally being able to let loose completely on his kills, mentally toying with them (IE: Speltzer scene) ... He has NOTHING left to loose at this point.. He's lost everything and everyone he ever cared about...Debra was the only person who kept him human... Even Harrison is lost to him.... It's time for Dexter to be all on his own!! I really hope the writers do Dexter: Resurrection justice... Please stop giving the audience lip service and wrapping characters in Christmas bows... This is a dark, humorous show... No love stories, no happy endings... No bringing back love interest just because people like the actress, sorry Ms. Stiles, love ya, but stay away.. Close the story without all the B.S. Disney Soap Opera crap..
Just rewatched Dexter and you're absolutely right. Angel and Quinn would definitely act on emotions and Masuka didn't even bad mouth Doakes once when he was framed he was just surprised. After this insight I think Resurrection could have a different meaning than everything thinks and could possibly have to do with his dark side having a complete resurrection after his secret is exposed.
@@DroppinJaws Definitely... Dexter: Resurrection means just that... He is shedding Jim Linsey, as Jim is dead and resurrecting Dexter Morgan... Only this Dexter is going to be something terrifying (I hope) His drive should be to evade the FBI/Cops for as long as he can... I see Harrison helping Miami PD and taking after Deb... He is the only one that has seen how meticulous Dexter is... He showed him how he covers up any trace he was even there during a kill.. In New Blood, they make it clear Harrison and Dexter are nothing alike... That Dexter, Trinity and Kurt Caldwell are alike.. Harrison, with proper therapy can overcome is anger issues. He will end up becoming a cop... Bet.. I want to see how he resurrects the code... Will he even still abide by it, seeing he has warped the meaning behind it... The first rule is "Don't get caught" this puts everyone in danger and was a reoccurring theme throughout New Blood.. Which has/had it's own meaning... New Blood = Harrison... New Blood = New Kills for Dexter...
@@jamillajohnson6108 I personally don’t want Harrison to come back. They absolutely butchered his character. Honestly if they would have gave him another season to develop like go on the run with Dexter than gradually realize how much of a monster his father. The second he found out the truth his character did a complete 180 and not in a good way. Another huge missed opportunity they absolutely need to get right with resurrection is bringing back Batista as a main character. He made captain and still works with Quinn and Masuka so I hope they’re the main law enforcement on the hunt for Dexter. It would make the most sense if Miami Metro and his old colleagues were the ones that finally caught the real Bay Harbor Butcher.
@@DroppinJaws I agree with everything you just said. I was not a fan of Harrison, but I understood his anger. If they didn't add that element it wouldn't have been realistic. Of course Harrison would be angry for Dexter abandoning him. My issue is they let it go on for too long. They could have bonded by ep 4 and ep 7 had a big blow up over something. Leading Harrison to buddy up to Kurt, not knowing Kurt was planning on killing him. Kurt never should've been a serial killer in a small azz town.. Him, going on a vigilante mission trying to find his sons killer.. Messing up the investigation is more realistic for the setting.. Angela determining Dexter is the BHB was so contrived it hurt to watch.. Especially since she couldn't even put together Kurt was the Runaway Killer in her own town she grew up in.. (You mean to tell me in all your years, you never thought to check the caves!?!) This town was NOT big.. It was the size of a Hallmark Christmas Movie town.. Oh snap it was!! It literally was during Christmas... I liked that it was Harrison to kill Dexter. I wouldn't have had it any other way, because of all the characters in Iron Lake he deserved to kill Dexter. It was how they did it, how it came to be.. There was no emotion built up between these two for us to back Harrison taking out Dexter.. Which is completely different from the stand-off between Deb/Dex/Maria. That was build up, you could feel Deb's emotional confusion to what she should do.. With Harrison, he wasn't shaking, no tears, no sadness, only anger.. Harrison could have been a very likable character.. It was the writing not the actor.. Jack was amazing in the role.. I felt all his anger & pain, it just got on my nerves by ep 7. that nothing was moving along... I liked Harrison, but at the same time I didn't because of the constant back & forth attitude.. But again, understandable anger.. I wish we had more Deb! She was my favorite character and I loved how they utilized her... Her being this twisted version of Dexter's guilty conscience.. In the beginning she was supportive and loving. After his first kill she started to be erratic and abusive.. Jennifer is such a kaleidoscope of an actress, she can act out the phone book and it be a sight to see... (Which if you noticed Deb was always in front of the stained glass, which looks like a kaleidoscope.. Symbolizing Deb was the color/ light in his life in this dreary cold place)
@@jamillajohnson6108 Exactly. Harrison being a stubborn teenager and running away from Dexter every time he tried talking to him for 7 episodes was not the way to go. All the scenes of Harrison showing he could possibly have a dark passenger and the bonding between him and Dexter before Kurts death was all great. I read about a theory that Harrisons dark passenger could be Trinity and that would have been a great idea and a great way to bring back John Lithgow instead of that terrible origin idea. Kurt was just such a great character and couldn't have had a more legendary actor portray him. Kind of a shame we didn't get an official serial killer name for him but I call him "The Doll Collector". Angela was a likable character up until she finds out Dexters true identity and her finding out he's the real BHB was just so stretched and way too convenient. Back in the original series I never thought Lundy knew or suspected Dexter was the BHB. He ran into Trinity without even knowing or meeting him once and instantly knew there was something off about him. And in the train scene when he was questioning Dexter I don't think he was interrogating him he was just questioning and getting a feel and came to the conclusion he was not the BHB. He really liked Dexter and was fond of his work as a forensics expert then eventually started seeing Deb. You can also argue Dexter wasn't evil like other killers so that's why Lundy never got a sense of Dexter to suspect him. The fact that Angela was the one that blew the case open/reopen is just not believable.
Batista had me saying “coño” way too much. I’m in Southern California so not many Cubans…and apparently coño means something VERY different in other dialects. I thought I was just making an exclamation, just to get socked in the chest because I’d apparently just called my buddy a pussy😅 You live and learn I suppose.
The tragedy of dexter is he had all these opportunities to pull away from his tendencies and embrace a normal, boring life. But the obsession with murder was too strong. In the same way Michael C Hall and company had a chance to walk away from the original series, yet the greed of New Blood and Origins was too strong to let go.
He's not a psychopath though. He feels and has connections with people throughout, does things out of selflessness etc. He was just brought up believing he was a psychopath. He's his own thing really and doesn't really fit into any of the categories we have for people in he real world. Definitely a case of antisocial personality disorder in there but as for a full on psychopath not so much

everything else about the season I enjoyed tbh but those final few minutes ruined everything Angel should have gotten to have that Dramatic confrontation with Dex given their long standing relationship just imagine how powerful it would have been
having him be the one to force Dex to confront himself and his years of lies which Hurt and killed everyone around him even those he claimed to love like Rita and Deb and in the end Angel could bring him down to earth by pointing out he's just another serial killer and he isn't as special or different as he likes to think
given what he does when it comes to protecting himself Honesty if the finale had that happen instead of Harrison shooting him and it just ended on Dex being locked up like any other criminal
and maybe Harrison was taken in either by Angela or maybe Angel given since he did kinda know his mother then I'd say it would have been perfect and it would have made up for the previous shows ending imo.
Im so glad he survived!!!
I loved angel showing dexter what he’s gonna get her and he keeps second guessing himself with what to buy his partner
1:40 "no fuck" just kills me lmao
Man, I miss this show. And it still freaks me out how much I still find so many things I have in common with Dexter lol! Besides, ya know
Their relationship was probably my favourite in the entire series. Shame they missed out the part when Angel muses if there's more to life than police work before they see Hannah McKay.
With Dexter reportedly possibly still alive I am very intrigued to see how Dexter resurrection actually goes later next year.
You should watch the news boi
Yeah still waiting on that one…..looks like we might get an answer though but I wouldn’t be surprised if they fuck it up again. I think Dexter fans are masochists because we keep coming back no matter how many times they smack us around😂. You know it’s a great character when we keep giving them more chances
Their confrontation has to be one of all time tv greats, anything below is a let down
Socio! ❤
Angel isnt the brightest tool in the box.
Angel is definitely in the top 3 characters
I love Angel ❤ he's my favorite character, after Lundy 😊

Only this Dexter is going to be something terrifying (I hope)
His drive should be to evade the FBI/Cops for as long as he can...

I personally don’t want Harrison to come back.

Exactly.
When's Dexter getting added to Dead by Daylight is what I'm wondering
Where is the full episode of Friday ?
I was speechless to find out that angel was the bay harbor butcher

Batista had me saying “coño” way too much. I’m in Southern California so not many Cubans…and apparently coño means something VERY different in other dialects.
I thought I was just making an exclamation, just to get socked in the chest because I’d apparently just called my buddy a pussy😅
You live and learn I suppose.

Like tic tac to beat one by far
The tragedy of dexter is he had all these opportunities to pull away from his tendencies and embrace a normal, boring life. But the obsession with murder was too strong. In the same way Michael C Hall and company had a chance to walk away from the original series, yet the greed of New Blood and Origins was too strong to let go.

Dexter is 100% what a psychopath is like in real life
He's not a psychopath though.
