Lundy figuring out that the Butcher had a law enforcement background is one of the biggest yet most believable and impressive leaps in logic I’ve seen from a character. Rather than make sense of the manifesto, Lundy recognizes its true purpose. Plus it was a great consequence of Dexter’s brazenness and carelessness.
@@rubenoteiza9261 I think it's perfectly reasonable. He recognised that the message contained specifically a lot of signals and hints that would appeal to cops trying to make sense of the mind of their target, but that there didn't actually seem to be a lot of agreement on what those hints *were*; and from that he concluded that the message was written with intent to muddy the waters. From that, you can get three reasons why this points to a Law Enforcement background; one, the suspect *knew* that this tactic would get the sort of confusion reaction they wanted, which means they have some understanding of how cops investigate. Not very much on its own, but combine it with, two, the fact that the suspect seems aware that the cops are getting closer and thus that they needed to throw them off somehow, a major change in their behavioural pattern up to this point. That points to the suspect having contact with the investigation to some degree, either directly or indirectly. Three, and most damningly, the subject knew *exactly* the sort of things to include in the manifesto to elicite that sort of reaction. This points to them thinking in a very similar manner as the investigators, and/or being very well versed in law enforcement experiences. To explain that last one, imagine that, say, you're a construction worker, and you read a novel in which a protagonist constructs a house from scratch. If you're actually intimately familiar with how to actually build houses, whether the AUTHOR of that novel is will likely be immediately apparent; their own level of experience, or lack there-of and their attempt to "fake it". Lundy is here observing the opposite in reverse; he's recognising that the author of the manifesto is familiar enough with a law enforcement mindset that they are able to actively 'forge' a narrative- several, in fact- that appeals to people who also have that mindset. Which means they're probably Law Enforcement themselves.
@@rubenoteiza9261 Did you miss the exact direct link that Lundy states? That the manifesto was written with inside knowledge of how law enforcement works to misdirect enforcement. Doesn't seem like much of a leap.
@@rubenoteiza9261he acknowledged blatantly to Dexter how he (the BHB) was able to consistently and convincingly and conveniently avoided cops at every turn. So he did in fact step outside that box and made an educated guess that he either is currently or has the background of law enforcement

I like how ludy explaing doakes credits really explains doakes "surprise mfer" reaction when dexter caught him up in that dock yard. The abused professional assassin- "how tf is this lab geek grappling me?!"
That alone should have gotten Dexter caught up, If Doakes was the Bay Harbour and his dad was a Butcher, and Doakes suffering from PTSD from Military time....why would he be so precise and almost OCD about how he cut up, disposed of, and sneaking, when Doakes was always a hot head, aggressive and messy
oh no, it's much worse than you think. **the miami metro police do NOT use blood slides. At all. This is important in season 7.** this means the person would've had to have their own interest in blood, because doakes couldn't even theoretically have been doing it to put blame on dexter who he had been saying he didn't trust for a long time.
You guys seem to think blood slides are some niche items that only few professionals use. You can just buy them from a shop and they are used by medical students.
I didn't like how the season concluded with Lundy finding out who the Bar Harbor Butcher was. The show is called DEXTER. Dexter should've done more and contributed greatly for the find.
Thank you for posting this! It is BEAUTIFULLY cut together and the quality is top notch. I think it was tongue-in-cheek, he was congratulating her for her uncouth language rather than her deduction. He says _'very good,_ Officer Morgan,' in a (playfully) patronising, school teacher way
@@The_JimI thought of that too, but I came to the conclusion that Lundy was expecting to confirm it because he didn't know if they had any other function. If they could be used for anything besides trophies by the BHB.
i made a huge comment then accidentally refreshed the page, but yeah. to other people's perspective Doakes acts pretty violent and obsesses over dexter.
I think what makes it even creepier is that there was absolutely zero chemistry between them. One of the (main) raisons viewers feel repelled at things like this is that one or both actors hate being there, I dont know about she but from the first moment I felt that Carradine couldn't wait for the love scenes to end and if you notice he doesn't act naturally, like a real lover, but always with a rather dumb smile in his face, which is the best he can do I guess.
Lundy was one of my favorite characters he was the only one who was able to read dexters patterns like a book and call him on his shit in a logical and calm way. Doaks was awesome, too, but he kept getting in his own way with his emotional outburst.
By far the most thrilling, during which Dexter actually had to fight for his life. In all other seasons, bar one, he could just retreat and let go, not in this one. Fighting with 3 enemies at once.
That was useless as evidence. First, the slides had been found in Doakes' car which at that moment had framed himself already by becoming a fugitive and anyway Dexter could have easily taken care of it: "Of course my FPs are all over! They are MY slides, I work with them! And every time I receive a batch I take them one by one and I inspect them closely to verify they are in good condition! Doakes stole them before I could use them" And that would have ended there.,
Honestly, I feel like this show did their plot lines backwards. I feel like revealing his brother as the ice truck killer and Dexter’s kills finally being discovered should’ve been saved for the final seasons, not the first two. This show really went out with a whimper in my opinion
Now that you mention it that could have been arranged easily. The Ice Truck killer suddenly disappears, the kilings stops, no one knows why and then he reappears in the last season and what happened is that he had been caught and was from s02 to so7 in prison or in a mental hospital because he had been wrongly convicted of some unrelated crime or he had a nervous breakdown.
I think it was him being an awkward “lab geek” combined with his nervousness being mistaken for shock when being told bad news. Not to bring down the mood, but for a real life comparison I remember watching a news report of a guy that murdered his female neighbor, at the time of the report he was acting like a friend of hers and that she was missing, but when the reporter told him the news that the police had just found the body he got visibly upset to the point of borderline crying and having to sit on the curb, in the moment it looked like he was grieving his friend, when in reality he was crying at the fact that he knew he was caught.
@@courier6960 Stephen McDaniel. His interrogation footage is pretty creepy as well. He basically just sits stock still in the chair, not moving a muscle, for hours on end. The detectives can't get anything out of him longer than a yes or a no. Absolute tragedy what he did to her. They still don't know exactly why he did it but suspect it's cause she was moving out soon. Although, he was no Dexter. When they searched his room they found just mountains of evidence against him. He even had videos on his computer of him hiding and filming Lauren in her apartment the night he killed her so he wasn't getting out of anything. Plus they found a bunch of evidence of child related stuff, if you catch my drift. He's still rotting in jail, thank god.
I can't believe it took Deb so many seasons to figure out that Dexter was a serial killer. I figured it out by season three. I watched a lot of other police shows, though. 🤔
Potentially. I thought Dexter was pretty oblivious to be neatly organizing his forensic tools to a compulsive degree when he was with Lundy in the train car AS Lundy was profiling how the BHB was someone who was extremely careful and meticulous. There was more to that scene that helps your opinion. I’m not sure I believe Lundy knew, or if he was like Dexter in the sense that if there wasn’t clear evidence others had found on their own, he wasn’t going to divert the investigation towards Dexter if that’s who he suspected. He looked disappointed when Doakes turned up dead because I think in his heart of hearts he didn’t think Doakes was him, but Dexter. But the evidence pointed to Doakes and he wasn’t going to fight it.
Are you stupid ? He wanted to catch him at all cost, couldn't you see ? The one that most probably knew was the one that took his retirement and was trying to discourage laguerta
@@Arto343434 Lundy simply, imo, did not have it in him to 'go rogue' with his theories by setting his sights on someone like Dexter and then simply not acting on it. Without the music, Dexter's narration or foreknowledge that Dexter was the BHB, those scenes probably look fairly normal, and we'd buy Lundy's explanation that he simply didn't like Masuka at face value. Lundy was thorough, insightful and intelligent but strictly by-the-book. If he suspected Dexter, it would have been laughably easy to get a GPS tap on Dexter's phone to figure out his comings and goings and pick up that he was in the Everglades at the cabin, and he never would have entertained a relationship with Debra. COULD he have looked the other way and helped LaGuerta get her evidence through and buried the phone call she had with Doakes? Yes, easily. But he is GENUINELY frustrated that she screwed up a chance to get potentially exonerating evidence for Doakes into the system. And sadly, eventually, the only legitimate evidence LaGuerta COULD provide came from a deeply unreliable source, and Doakes was never able to tell anyone his side of the story. The only one who could come to his defense was LaGuerta, and he gave her no information to work with. And despite his reservations due to LaGuerta's inadmissible evidence, he accepts the conclusion that Doakes was the BHB because, as he says, "The evidence is compelling. Overwhelming, in fact." And he simply, by the book, accepts the verdict and moves on with his life, chalking it up as a case where there was something he missed.
Batman is the worst resemblance to Dexter to give cause one of his biggest traits is that he absolutely refuses to kill even the most derranged people.
it was so crazy, when it was revealed, that vince and hannah left miami, in the very same ice truck, that belonged to kyle mitchell, who was really louis, all along
When Lundy is going over the cases with Dexter and shows he also knows about Blood analysis and you see Dexter basically in true fear and almost speechless trying to find a good believable excuse is just an epic moment in the series , at that point Dexter knew he was punching a bit above his weight at least for a moment.
Dude! Lundy knew Dexter was him! He was disappointed that he couldn't give a better explanation about the blood spatter. His step dad told him what Dexter was.
Lundy knew. How could he not? Its the order of what happened. "What happens now?" from Dexter. "Seargent James Doakes." from Lundy. The repeat from dexter, questioning, the sigh of relief right after. The way they stand in a circle literally around him and he's the only one sitting. This was a semi-final test by Lundy to put Dexter in a semi-ambiguous situation to see if he crumbles. No proof, but suspicion. The way he says "Dexter, it'll keep Doakes at bay." You can just see it. When they greet and Dexter asks "Hows my favourite serial killer hunter?" All of it. He knew.
Great point, but he did not say “favorite serial killer hunter” he said “favorite blood spatter analyst” But yes, he knew, and I’m sick of people saying he didn’t. They clearly need a lesson on what sub text is

I always forget how funny Dexters internal thoughts were.
The "oh no." is the funniest one. It's so understated
"Actually it's two."
"Actually it's two."
"Uh oh."
The delivery of that line kills me, pun absolutely intended.
Also how he starts slowly looking around with his eyes widening absolutely perfect
Lundy: had these parts coming from 1 body. Dexter thinks: actually its 2. Lundy: Actually its 2. Dexter: uh oh.
Bro we all saw the video what the fuck are you doing.
Damn you got lazy didn’t even make the dialogue look like dialogue lmao
It's like there's an odd echo around here... 😅
Never understood that part. Did they imply the Butcher mixed body parts from 2 victims into the same garbage bags ?
@@davidskrzypek2828 Some of the bags were ripped open and Dexter was shown to put a single person in multiple bags.
I can't believe how close they got with their suspicions about it being one of their own in the police department and when they found a rack full of blood slides they didn't think "oh the blood guy" lmaooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Well they found it in Doakes’ car and Doakes is 1: Very sus, 2: hiding evidence, and 3: avoiding the authorities.
@CannedPsycho- also Ex special forces assassin with multiple shootings on the job.......
The blood samples payoff is one of the best twists in any show. Right up there with Don Héctor's chair or Ned Stark's bad haircut
I remember being so fucking tense when watching Dexter be brought in. What a rush.
@@rorybarber5076 It was pure luck yet also totally justified within the story
I’m still on season 1, but knowing Doakes is the Bay Harbor Butcher really explains why he’s always so angry and cursing all the time.
Dexter releases a manifesto which consequently led to Lundy seeing through it , backfiring 101
I like the part where Dexter says ,”Say my name.” And Lundy says “The Bay Harbor Butcher” and Dexter goes ,”Youre god damn right”. ICONIC
Skylerita shouting to her mum, telling her to 'shut up, shut up, shut up...' was priceless!

I like how ludy explaing doakes credits really explains doakes "surprise mfer" reaction when dexter caught him up in that dock yard.
The abused professional assassin- "how tf is this lab geek grappling me?!"
The fact Dexter uses blood slides in work is a big cauae for suspicion
That alone should have gotten Dexter caught up, If Doakes was the Bay Harbour and his dad was a Butcher, and Doakes suffering from PTSD from Military time....why would he be so precise and almost OCD about how he cut up, disposed of, and sneaking, when Doakes was always a hot head, aggressive and messy
oh no, it's much worse than you think.
**the miami metro police do NOT use blood slides. At all. This is important in season 7.**
this means the person would've had to have their own interest in blood, because doakes couldn't even theoretically have been doing it to put blame on dexter who he had been saying he didn't trust for a long time.
Lots of professions use blood slides, but it is at least circumstantial enough to look into
You guys seem to think blood slides are some niche items that only few professionals use. You can just buy them from a shop and they are used by medical students.
22:55 best crossover ever
I didn't like how the season concluded with Lundy finding out who the Bar Harbor Butcher was. The show is called DEXTER. Dexter should've done more and contributed greatly for the find.
15:32 I'd like to think Dexter felt actual, genuine fear at this moment because of how smart Lundy was that he could see through his tricks.
“Actually it’s two” ”actually it’s two” “Uh oh”😂
I was crying laughing and didn’t see any comments about it
The way Debra got choked up when the Ice Truck Killer showed up on screen was great foreshadowing that she would get butchered by the bay harbor.

Thank you for posting this! It is BEAUTIFULLY cut together and the quality is top notch. It’s good to gather with other Dexter fans and also kinda rewatch a series I really enjoyed (in the beginning). Lol. This was also my 1st show to ever “binge watch” on Netflix. The second was Breaking Bad. Lol. Thanks again.
12:27 how is that good when Lundy literally gave her the answer.
That's like saying
x + 10 = 15, him saying 5 + 10 and her being like ... x is 5!
I think it was tongue-in-cheek, he was congratulating her for her uncouth language rather than her deduction. He says _'very good,_ Officer Morgan,' in a (playfully) patronising, school teacher way
The "Very Good" was said in a different kind of tone
Then she'd be wrong. In that example, x is not 120, it's 5.
@@gustavolopes5094 what? No one claimed x is 120?

18:50 - “Explain it to us” 😂 why would rockstar serial killer hunter Frank Lundy need the blood spatter analyst to explain that these are trophies.
I guess he was expecting him to tell them about the extraction method or if they can be analized, not to tell them what they already knew
@@crispaz4180 but all Dexter says is “trophies”, and Frank responds, “just as I thought”. This implies he was looking for confirmation.
@@The_JimI thought of that too, but I came to the conclusion that Lundy was expecting to confirm it because he didn't know if they had any other function. If they could be used for anything besides trophies by the BHB.
Dexter opens a mysterious box and when opened without hesitation, he passes his fingers through the slides. That was extremely suspicious. 😅
Always bugged me how no one notices that a big chunk of time was missing from the marina recordings, after Dexter deleted it.

I love that if you edit Dexter out as much as possible it really does look like Doakes is the Bay Harbor Butcher
i made a huge comment then accidentally refreshed the page, but yeah.
to other people's perspective Doakes acts pretty violent and obsesses over dexter.
22:52 Mike lore
lol
Never knew he was in this. Lmao
Lundy figuring out the Butcher was involved within LE still remains one of the best moments I've ever seen in a series.
Lundy's relationship w/ Deb still creeps me out.
Deb's character is so weird. Deb relationship drama is such a drag and the show would certainly be better without it
I think what makes it even creepier is that there was absolutely zero chemistry between them.
@@rubenoteiza9261yeah I straight just skipped the scenes, I wasn’t trying to watch all that lol
Dexter got really shocked when he found out Doakes was the Bay Harbour Butcher 😂
Lmao that “bullshit” was completely pure panic and denialism 😂 5:37
Lundy was one of my favorite characters he was the only one who was able to read dexters patterns like a book and call him on his shit in a logical and calm way. Doaks was awesome, too, but he kept getting in his own way with his emotional outburst.
I forgot how good season 2 was. Absolutely incredible.
By far the most thrilling, during which Dexter actually had to fight for his life. In all other seasons, bar one, he could just retreat and let go, not in this one. Fighting with 3 enemies at once.
18:09 is one of the best scenes in the entire show
Surely Dexter's finger prints would have been all over that wooden box and blood slides.
Yeah they were but they made him in charge of it so he just took off the fingerprints from what I remember
Doakes stole them before I could use them" And that would have ended there.,
What this guy said ^
What the other guy said, and they found it in Doakes car and didn't think there were 2 people.
Honestly, I feel like this show did their plot lines backwards. I feel like revealing his brother as the ice truck killer and Dexter’s kills finally being discovered should’ve been saved for the final seasons, not the first two. This show really went out with a whimper in my opinion
Ya it was strange for a tv show to do that. Based off clips I thought the ITK would’ve been in the last season
Book 1 was the Ice Truck Killer plot too just so you know
Lmao Dex always looked so guilty I dont know how he wasnt caught on that alone.
If you judge and condemn people for looking guilty half of mankind would be behind bars.

ok wahlburg, relax with the "If I was on that plane with my kids, it wouldn't have went down like it did"
H-he was a serial killer?
I think he’s joking 😂
I mean, I figured out in the first episode of the show where dexter said ke was a serial killer and then serial killed someone, but yours is valid too
I am fully in the camp that Lundy knew but approved of what Dexter did.
It's a nonsense theory and you didn't pay attention to the show/Lundy's character if you think this.
Are you stupid ?
He wanted to catch him at all cost, couldn't you see ?
The one that most probably knew was the one that took his retirement and was trying to discourage laguerta
Of course he would let Doakes die just cause he thinks Dexter does a fine job
Overwhelming, in fact." And he simply, by the book, accepts the verdict and moves on with his life, chalking it up as a case where there was something he missed.
if looks could kill Agent Lundy would be dead at 3:33
Batman is the worst resemblance to Dexter to give cause one of his biggest traits is that he absolutely refuses to kill even the most derranged people.
Vigilantism nonetheless

it was so crazy, when it was revealed, that vince and hannah left miami, in the very same ice truck, that belonged to kyle mitchell, who was really louis, all along
Miami in the mid to late 2000s was a whole ass aesthetic. This show and burn notice were my favorites at 10-13 years old
When Lundy is going over the cases with Dexter and shows he also knows about Blood analysis and you see Dexter basically in true fear and almost speechless trying to find a good believable excuse is just an epic moment in the series , at that point Dexter knew he was punching a bit above his weight at least for a moment.
Truly epic writing and storytelling. I remember looking forward to new episodes. Dexter had me completely hooked.
Dude! Lundy knew Dexter was him! He was disappointed that he couldn't give a better explanation about the blood spatter. His step dad told him what Dexter was.
No
Harry never met Lundy, for all we know, even if Mathews was his friend. In any case Lundy had no idea of Dexter's family story.
The way he says "Dexter, it'll keep Doakes at bay."
You can just see it.
When they greet and Dexter asks "Hows my favourite serial killer hunter?"
All of it. He knew.
Great point, but he did not say “favorite serial killer hunter” he said “favorite blood spatter analyst”
But yes, he knew, and I’m sick of people saying he didn’t. They clearly need a lesson on what sub text is

So Dexter has a boat in the harbor with the algae, works with blood in a lab, the trophies are lab slides with blood, is very meticulous and methodical...but they bought Doakes was the Bay Harbor Butch? Right.
Doakes had the slides and dipped out the country and went rogue. Lundy was onto Dex just couldn’t tie together. Mike ehrmantrout wanted the case closed asap
