I cry every single time at Alfred's "I failed you" speech at the end. Michael Caine played Alfred perfectly in this trilogy.
He was the best Alfred.
When I saw this in the theater I was choking back the tears at that scene, but watching it later on my own I may or may not have let them go, I'm not crying you are!
Michael Caine perfect everything.
Alfred knows everything Bruce does, so the speech at the Graves was an acting job and Alfred didn't accidentally go to Florence.
@@foxpaw1 Alfred told Bruce that is where he wanted to go. Bruce didn't go there on accident. He went there to assure Alfred that he was ok. Alfred wasn't acting.

@@davidallred2947 Yeah keeping all of the bad killers in one asylum is a great idea lol What could happen? Good job, Batman.

I love Cillian Murphy showing up in all 3 movies as Scarecrow. Superhero movies never really seem to deliver on the idea that heroes have this rogues gallery of villains who keep turning up. Scarecrow in every movie feels like a small nod to that comic book reality.
I assume The Joker would have been back if not for Heaths passing.
I would have loved a scarecrow v batman for a whole movie! He was menacing af
I think his is the only one ever to be in a trilogy comic book wise
And I think Cillian Murphy was more terrifying in Red Eye. Either way, he's an excellent actor altogether.
@@rockyshields9122 I think Gene Hackman as Lex Luthor showed up in most of the Christopher Reeves Superman movies. But, it has been like 20 years since I watched them so I may be wrong lol.
The thing I love about Nolan is he loves practical effects. That whole scene in the beginning with the plane was real and not CGI.
This.
Yeah I don't get that obsession at all. It is such a waste of time.
@@shrews12001 CGI never looks real, even when done well. It generally doesn’t save time. Money, maybe. Programming and rendering extended scenes with planes always looks cheesy, because the physics are never quite right.
CGI heavy movies don’t hold up to scrutiny within months, much less years.
Nolan can afford practical effects and his movies will probably remain popular decades after people laugh at the effects in the next Captain Marvel movie.
@@DanEcho67Weird flex to bring up Captain Marvel. Something tells me that you're easily offended and triggered by female heroes.
@@DanEcho67 Yeah but it doesn't matter at all. Literally not at all. Who cares if it looks real or not it's a Batman movie. If it were a real movie then maybe but even then no one should care very much because it still doesn't actually matter, at least not enough to bare judgement one way or the other on the director.
The thing I like about the police chief thing is it shows how Batman inspired Gordon not to give up and to do better and Gordon and Batman inspire others who have given up to try harder in turn. Fulfilling exactly what Batman was hoping for, to be a symbol for others to follow when they've given up on being good or making positive change.
The final minutes of this movie are so fantastic! Chills every time.
(Bruce telling Gordon about a hero being someone putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended always kind of gets to me the most.)
Yes they are good when you don't think about Blake probably dying early in his crime fighting career because he wasn't trained in any combat arts nor stealth like Bruce and he has a finite supply of gear to use because he isn't a billionaire playboy with a company to fund his crimefighting and arm him....remember that Wayne Enterprises is basically dead, so no more tumblers, no more Bat, no more fuel to keep those running and his bat suits will last as long as they hold up since WE is no longer manufacturing them.
The climax of the movie was great filmmaking though.
@@scottb3034huh
The final five minutes gave me goosebumps the first time I saw it. Such a perfect conclusion to a great trilogy.
I always laugh because I always imagine Bruce coming up with a riddle or callback every time he wants to reveal his identity to someone. *Batman Growl:* "Its like thay time in fifth grade... when you shared your bag of chips with a lonely rich boy...."
I always assumed Gordon knew Batman’s real identity, shows what I know
"E'erbody's all about calling her lovely! Why can't she just be a businesswoman?" says the woman who ten seconds earlier was acting thirstier than any man ever has over Anne Hathaway.
I've always loved that, "Come with me...save yourself. You don't owe *these people anymore* ..." line. Selina acts like she's this devil may care person out only for herself, but the truth is she does give a damn. She's grown up with rich people stepping on poor people. But she saw under Bane's rule that the poor people could be every bit as bad when they don't have any consequences, and she saw with Bruce being Batman and with the family who was torn out of their home, that rich people aren't automatically horrible either. She came to Bane's conclusion, that Gotham wasn't worth saving.... but she also realized that Batman, that Bruce was good. She'd seen his sacrifices and even that he came back to try and save the day, that he was worth saving. She didn't want him to be sacrificed for people who wouldn't pay him the same courtesy. So with that line she was pleading with him to save the one thing that she saw as being actually valuable in Gotham city. The person who was trying to save it.
Ah, yes. That big movie propaganda is working. Rich people aren't always bad. Something's aren't worth saving. Violence is an acceptable answer if it comes down to it.
Ever wonder why so much time, effort, and money got pumped into super hero films? It sells that good ol' American capitalist brand
Bane breaking Batman's back is an iconic comic scene
To be fair, that was a great ending. I remember sitting in the theater and having the same feelings of chills with the call back to Alfred seeing Bruce at the cafe. Such a beautiful way to end this trilogy.
What cracks me up is no mention of Bruce at the end at the cafe with Cat Woman/Anne Hathaway.
@@dewelrivera3305 I think she was too stunned to speak.

The scene between Bane and Batman is a very famous scene in the comics, he’s known as the man who broke the bat, he was both intellectually and physically superior to Batman
Yeap, in "Knightfall"
I hope Ashleigh goes for The Prestige soon! She'll love the Christian Bale/Michael Caine dynamic in that one. And the plot will have her dropping her jaw about a hundred times!
Has she done Inception yet? I think she would love it too. It's so much of the same people from the Dark Knight movies.
@@chamoo232yes! INCEPTION. She loved Memento so she will probably enjoy it
One thing you forgot was that Bane never told the public that the bomb was on a countdown. No one outside his circle knew the bomb would go off no matter what, except Batman (and those he told when he returned, of course). Remember Bane's speech to Bruce in the pit: he wanted the people of Gotham to tear each other apart in the individual hope of survival before the split-second realization at the end of those five months that it was all for nothing.
Fun fact: the original idea for the genius who bankrupts Wayne Enterprises was going to be Mr. Reese from The Dark Knight, the man who deduced that Batman was Bruce Wayne.
Because Mr. Reese sounds like “mysteries.”
Like “enigma.”
He was to be The Riddler. 💚
"Step forward those who would serve, for an army will be raised"
This trilogy is so dramatic, I love it. A film that is done in Christopher Nolan style, with a Hans Zimmer score?? How could it possible be bad??
Ok, now let’s watch Batman Returns if you love CATWOMAN. ❤ It was great seeing how much you enjoyed this movie. The IRL theater shooting really overshadowed this movie when it came out (and was so sad; those poor people) and made it hard to enjoy or talk about the film without that context. Foley at the end in the assault is literally one of my favorite moments in the movie. Earlier Gordon said to him "I'm not asking you to walk down Grand in your dress blues, but something has to be done" and then, there he is, in his dress blues leading the charge down Grand.
It was a great redemption arc in a story already filled to the brim with interesting characters with their own arcs.
Ya Ashleigh got him all wrong
Most of us didn't catch it, but it was already revealed that Bane wasn't the child, though Bruce and us in the audience believed he was. Bane said that he had not seen the light until he was a grown man. So he didn't leave the pit as the child.
In the movie Bane wears the mask because he was attacked into the pit after Talia's liberation. His wounds hurt so much and he needs the mask to give him regularly a dose of an anaesthetic for his terrible pain.
In the comics Bane does not wear this mask but one like those of Mexican wrestling. Instead, he has some tubes connected to his blood vessels that are constantly inoculating some drug, Venom, highly addictive and powerful that gives Bane his strength.
I was one of the extras in the stadium scene. It was hot as hell those 2 days, we had to dress for winter though…🥵. The Bane voice we heard was drastically different and much more guttural. It was a hell of a lot of fun for sure. The highlight of my 2 days was getting direction from Chris Nolan himself.
Ohhhh that sounds awesome!!!! I'm sure being directed by Nolan and listening to Tom Hardy were well worth the hot days!!!
@@Bazzkorg it definitely was!
One thing people always get wrong with this movie is that JGL's character dies not become Robin, he becomes the new Batman. This has been confirmed by Nolan
Which considering how much inspiration this takes from Knightfall, he should have been named Jean-Paul instead of Robin. Granted I hate Azbat but still.
The last scene of him finding the batcave also fit with the movies's title. He walk in water and then some platform lifts him up. The Dark Knight Rises.
@@neopagn2004 Except the entire theme of the movie is Batman inspiring people, being a symbol, and Blake is being inspired to take up the same type of symbol. NOT the dark twisted punisher style that Jean-Paul was.
Right the mentioning of his name being Robin is supposed to just be an indication of how he is taking up the mantle. Hence why his middle name is actually Robin, rather than any of the names of characters that wore the Robin costume. Though he does have elements of both Grayson and Drake.
@@Logan_Baron well he could be night wing

Cat woman is one of the most underrated characters in the DC universe. Ashleigh's girl crush is adorable. Thats why she's my favorite reactor.
Michael Caine was amazing as Alfred. He really brought the feels in this movie! When he broke in the funeral, I lost it! And the ending with his dream coming true, chef's kiss! And yes, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, incredible!
I think it's a crime that Ashleigh was introduced to Anne Hathaway's Catwoman before Michelle Pheiffer's
I guess its a generation thing, i've always been team Pheiffer 😉
@jessiechen279 I'm 33, Michelle is STUNNING as catwoman, but I prefer the Nolan films because it's more realistic. The other Batmans don't feel like they could happen where as Nolans universe feels like it COULD be reality.
Gordon DOES have a spin-off. It's a Tv series called Gotham. It's basically him in his younger years as all the Batman heroes and villains are established to become what they are. It was really good. You'll enjoy it if you like the Nolan Trilogy.
I think Ashleigh would really enjoy the interaction between young Bruce and young Celina.
Lol i thought the exact same thing when she said he needed his own series. I loved Gotham. It sure helps when deadpools girlfriend is Gordon's love interest.
@@briandavies-wo1mn I absolutely adore Morena Baccarin. In Gotham, Serenity, Firefly, Deadpool, Homeland, and V!

Brilliant trilogy and then Affleck came along...
I was just going to say the same thing! LOL
Agree on Bane, disagree on Affleck. His Batman/Bruce was great, the movies he was in were hit or miss.
@jasonthedave6140 Agreed. He was way better than I was expecting, they just put his Bruce/Batman in the wrong movies.
Same, loved Affleck on his own as a fed up Batman. Using guns and not caring about how it gets done.
@@stephenochosiete9869 I so wish Affleck got a solo Batman movie. I did not like Patterson's Batman at all. His cowl look more like it would belong in a live adaptation of Gotham by Gaslight. The movie feels 20 min too long because Batman walks so slow everywhere and I definitely don't like matching Batman and Nirvana.
Nuclear weapons have a very specific firing sequence, and multiple safeties to prevent it from occurring unintentionally. They're overbuilt and very tough. We had some close calls during the Cold War-especially through the '60s, with less-developed weapon designs. And the bomb in this movie is a pure fusion weapon; we don't really know how to build one of those, and how much abuse it could take.
Und zis man should know, mein Herr! ;-)
I always find it odd that so many people think nuclear weapons are just big balls of nitroglycerine.
And here's to hoping we never do find out, the knowledge that a Hydrogen bomb is far more destructive than an atomic bomb is disturbing enough as it is.
Yeah, it's actually way easier to screw something up and remove a nuclear bombs ability to go nuclear than it is to make it go off. Now, you might be able to get an explosion and send nuclear material everywhere (ie-dirty bomb), but it's far less destructive ... still a big mess to clean up though.
This movie tried to turn Batman into James Bond.
Anne Hathaway is a brilliant actress. I must say she has really shined playing Selina Kyle a.k.a The Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.
I've never understood why people like her. Definitely my least favorite Catwoman, unfortunately. The mask killed me lol
@@d3l3tes00nit wasn’t fake I love her

I think she's the best actress in the world, not because she's beautiful (she is), but because she's that skilled and talented. Her work in Les Miserables is heartbreaking. By FAR the most outstanding performance in that film... and she's so brilliant here, too.
So many scenes she nails so perfectly. One that always gets me is that look she gives over her shoulder after she did the screaming damsel act.
This video is worth the watch.... not just for the movie, btw, which is always worth the watch, but for you the faces you make, exclamations, and excitement! It is easy to see why so many folks thought this movie deserved an Oscar for movie, director, actors/actresses, sound, etc. Thank you for screening this!! And in Cat Woman's own words, Anne Hathaway "should be so lucky" with you!!
1.Tom Hardy had the *gargantuan* task of trying to make his version of Bane live up to the hype of the late Heath Ledger's Joker and, honestly, he *nailed it*
His voice as Bane has been referenced and memed to death over the years, sure, but he's generally seen as the best live action Bane. Which , granted, isn't saying a LOT xD
2. And speaking of Heath Ledger's Joker apparently he was supposed to have a role in this movie as well, but his untimely death forced serious rewrites, hence why this movie took an additional year to make.
I really don't like this version of Bane. So far he has only been done right in animation. Tom is big. But Bane at his peak, is 6'8" and weighs 350 LBS. And can choke slam Killer Croc through 4 feet of Concrete. This chump looses to a motorcycle.
2. That's a bit of a misconception. Heath Ledger died even before Dark Knight came out, 6 months before in fact, so any involvment he was going to have in a 3rd movie was more of a "if we make a 3rd movie, Joker will be in it" kind of thing. A story idea for a 3rd movie wasn't even in development much less was there a script in place. Nolan didn't even know if he'd return to make another movie. He wanted to make Inception after Dark Knight, then after that the studio convinced him to make a 3rd. So Joker was never going to be in this movie.
@@EScoglio They made each movies one at a time without any proper plan for sequels but Ledger's sister said that before he died he talked about wanting to make more Batman movies. If he had not died maybe Dark Knight Rises would not have been the same. Bane releasing all the prisoners could have been the perfect way to set up Joker to return for a 4th movie. In the end they just decided to close the trilogy. They even considered to have Bale's Batman be the one sharing the same universe with Cavil's Superman but he didn't want to return so they made Batfleck instead.
@@brucechmiel7964Jeep Swanson portrayed Bane back in the older movies and he was 400lbs in real life. His character was underused back then compared to this movie.
@@theriomrasputin8233 But was that even Bane? I think it was a cheap knockoff of the Hulk. “Mon-kee business!” Schumacher had know idea of who Bane is and neither did Nolan.
Catwoman is a cat burglar; she's never the worst villain and sometimes she's on Batman's side. By the way, she was sitting with Bruce at the end of the movie.
Robin doesn't appear much in the movies because he kind of gets in the way of what the writers want to do. He's in the 1966 "Batman: The Movie" because he's in the TV series.
There is one storyline where Bruce and Talia have a son named Damian, and he becomes Robin.
The acting and writing in this movie is spectacular. Michael Caine's emotion in the last scene with Bruce and at the grave site. He pours his soul out in those two.
Many will bring up how "fast" Bruce gets back to Gotham. I want to point out he had over 3 weeks, he still has the connections internationally, and he's freaking Batman.
I watched something that talked about cain's reaction to the first time he seen heath ledger walk in as the joker and he was so taken back he forgot his script during the fundraiser for harvey dent.
5:44 funny how Ashleigh refers to a Tom Hardy movie while talking about loyalty to another Tom Hardy character
"You know who should get a spinoff? Gordon!!" Watch Gotham. Gordon got him a spinoff!!!!!
A lot of people have questioned putting it together that Bruce and Batman disappeared at the same time and then reappeared around the same time, but Bruce didn't become a recluse until years later after he had to shut down the fusion reactor. So Bruce continued to be a public figure for a few more years after he put Batman to bed.
36:03 - Foley was leading the charge because that was his duty, he had a character arc, first he wanted to hide but then he realized what his duty was and he redeemed himself.
"Did the suffocate that man?"
Nope, Bane snapped his neck like a chicken doing a n owl impression
Ashleigh, you weren't paying attention to WHY they called her lovely to Bruce. They were trying to play matchmaker for him. It wasn't a patriarchy thing at all
Your reactions and facial expression of shock and surprise are absolutely priceless! 😁👍
Love that line - "My mother warned me about getting into cars with strange men"
"This isn't a car" - implying that he is, indeed, a strange man ;-)
I'm glad you enjoyed these movies so much! Dark Knight is so close to a perfect film, and likely will never drop off my top 10, but Rises was still a good followup. And Tom Hardy's bane is so iconic now, the voice is funny and scary at the same time XD

Tom Hardy plays Bane. Plus he was in Mad Max: Fury Road(which you commented on Bane's mask). Anne Hathaway was in "Brokeback Mountain" which you reviewed last Friday.
Ashley.. there are a lot of reactors out there, but you are one of the best. Sincere, down to earth, hilarious, just perfect. Thanks for being you.
I’m really glad this movie, especially the ending, worked for you the way it worked for me. So many people got caught up in their own idea of what the third movie should be that they could not enjoy it for what it was, and decided to nitpick it the way nobody did with the first two. Yes it has a couple problems, but so do all movies. Taken as a whole the trilogy is one of the greatest of all time.
Such a missed opportunity in an otherwise amazing flick.
"so you came back to die with your city?" "No... I came back to break you."
You kinda missed that Bane *lied* to the public about the bomb. They didn't know it would deteriate and blow anyway over time. That's why Bane taunted Bruce about giving them hope. By the time they know for sure, it's still only a select few and now they're really in a no-win type of situation. Like with the cops on the other side of the bridge blowing it when Blake tried to get the bus off the island. Those cops had no idea what the situation really was (which Blake did try to tell them) and no reason to believe what Blake was trying to do wouldn't get Gotham destroyed. Bane and Talia really did have it well lined up, they just really should have killed Bruce instead of dumping him in the Pit.
Rises still makes no sense. People would still panic. If a terrorist organization told you that a bomb in his possession was safe unless you do X, would you totally believe them? It's like if someone put a gun to your head while drinking coffee and snorting cocaine and they say you'll be perfectly fine if you don't flinch.
40:50 it is this exact kind of completely unhinged commentary that keeps me coming back 😆
Never change, Ashleigh. Never change.
We NEED you to finish the Lord of the Rings trilogy! I know the Fellowship was slow, but the next two are full of action!
9:01 The actor playing Stryver is Burn Gorman. Had a pretty good run on “Torchwood,” and he’s becoming another great “That Guy Who Was in That Thing.”
15:24 A lot of this scene is copied from “The Dark Knight Returns,” a comic by Alan Moore that was also turned into an animated movie. The older cop says to the younger one “You’re in for a show,” but in the original, he talks to Batman and refers to the younger cop as “schmuckface.” 😂😂
The football scene wasn’t the greatest, but I enjoyed it because I’m from Pittsburgh and was still living there at the time this was filmed. The football team featured had a lot of the Pittsburgh Steelers on it and the kicker was Pittsburgh’s mayor at the time, Luke Ravenstahl. The final fight outside was filmed in Pittsburgh’s Oakland area and a friend of mine was able to watch them film there. That is where the three colleges are located: Pitt, Point Park and CMU.
Bonus fun fact: CMU alumni include Jeff Goldblum and Holly Hunter.
pittsburgh proud! i was actually working downtown when they were filming the massive fight on the steps and stopped by to watch one day on my lunch break ;P
So, pretty much anyone who watched the animated series or read the comics probably saw the twist with Talia coming a mile off. As soon as they started talking about the mercenary’s child (not son, child), I knew the turn was coming. In the comics, Talia falls in love with Batman and has a long term on and off relationship with him as he tries to stop her father from decimating the world’s human population. She’s often shown to be just as capable, though not quite as vicious as her father, but always refers to Batman as “beloved.” They even have a son in later comics, Damien Wayne, who becomes the fourth Robin, and easily the most bloodthirsty member of the Bat family.
I don't know if it's 'official', but the themes for the trilogy's movie are respectively: fear, chaos/anarchy and despair. So when Ashley talks about depression, it pretty much on the nose.
Tom Hardy does not get enough love as Bane. The 'Darkness' speech was the best villain rizz!
It's a shame they cut out Bane's #2 from the movie. The part was played by Christopher Judge who is a great actor. He was Teal'c on Stargate and portrays Kratos in the new God of War.
We see him once in the movie. The guy who throws the grenade in the sewer hole when Blake tried to free cops. Definitely should had had him in more scenes. Judge is too good to be Nameless Mercenary #4.
Great reaction - fun note that I left on Twitch the other day: the football stadium scene. I was there for the filming. They made us wear winter clothes in AUGUST! we were all sweating our balls off. they were also giving prizes out to the crowd and Tom Hardy drew my number for an ipad. lol. I didn't get to meet him, but he saw me as I came down to the field to get the ipad handed to my by an assistant. It was a long fun day!
Honestly, this is my favorite out of the trilogy. Tom Hardy was so awesome in this.
I used to have a major crush on him, he's BEAUTIFUL in this movie.
Naked Gun " Nice Beaver !! " 😂😂🤣🤣
One of the things about the DC universe is that New York City sort of doesn't exist, or at least is never acknowledged. Instead you have the twin sister cities of Gotham and Metropolis, where Superman lives. The basic premise of each is that Gotham is New York during the night, dark and dangerous, while Metropolis is New York during the day, bright and safe.
Bruce made it out of the pit because he realized he cared about his life and regained his fear of death. Knowing that without the rope he would be dead if he missed the jump that time it gave him the extra adrenaline he needed to make the jump and that was essentially his character arc.
Well here's the thing about that, Ashleigh. Bruce Wayne and Selena Kyle ARE NOT an unlikely pair; they're the Perfect Pair. There is NO ONE else who fits with Bruce better than Selena. I mean Talia (from the comics) had to drug Bruce and take advantage of him, showing that she full on crazy. Selena is Bruce's soulmate.
If you're looking for a Gordon spin-off/prequel, the Gotham TV show is pretty much it
This film also proves the Joker correct from The Dark Knight. "When the chips are down, these civilized people? They'll eat each other."
The stock theft thing is beyond unbelievable though...if the stock exchange were attacked no transactions that happened that day would be considered valid, everything would be undone, especially something of that magnitude.
I'm not saying it's accurate, but I'm pretty sure the idea is that they hacked it so the changes were dated retroactively
They say in the movie that they will eventually be able to prove fraud but in the short term, Bruce is broke so that forces him to show the reactor to Talia. She worked to get into the right position to be the person he would give the reactor to in hope to prevent it falling into the wrong hands. That's what the stock attack was about. Putting Bruce in a bad position with his company even if it was temporary.
It's funny you said that Gordon should get a spinoff. That is actually what the show Gotham is about. It's centered around mostly Gordon.
"Well shut the hell up let's talk about it!" 😂😂😂😂
I like that Bane later kind of turned more to the good side. He also switched to the MCU as the lead anti-hero in the "Venom" franchise. Tom Hardy is just as amazing as Venom/Eddie Brock.
Bane is the guy that played MadMax in the last movie.
"I'm having the most impurest thoughts about Anne Hathaway.......Lovely? Why can't these men just appreciate her as a businesswoman?"
Gordon did kind of get a spin-off. It was called "Gotham" and it was a TV show that took place pre-Batman. It was OK.
When I first heard Anne Hathaway was going to be catwoman, I was disappointed. I thought to myself "Ella enchanted?! No way! She can't pull off sultry," and then I went to the theater and saw the movie. She completely knocked it out of the park and was my favorite performance of the entire movie.
Interesting that you mentioned Mad Max Fury Road while looking at Bane: both Bane and the hero in Fury Road were played by Tom Hardy (also plays Venom).
Clue that Miranda is Talia: Ras al-Ghul means “Head of the Demon.” “Talia Head” is a pseudonym that Talia sometimes used in the comics. Miranda Tate is played by a French actress with a French accent. Tête, in French, means “head.”
Wow, I'm so glad I watched this with you Ashleigh. When I saw this in the theater, Bane was simply incomprehensible. I couldn't understand a word the man said. At the time, I assumed it was a filmmaking choice, but now I'm thinking maybe it was just something about the speakers in that particular theater?
Anyway, I'm really happy to finally know what the hell Bane was talking about!
Pretty sure they reworked the sound for home release.

Unless I'm mistaken, you haven't yet reacted to Batman Returns (the 2nd Mickael Keaton Batman movie). If you think Hathaway shined as Catwoman, you must see Michelle Pfeiffer's version. Anne was good.... Michelle was epic.
My favorite of the trilogy. And I love Anne Hathaway's Catwoman. Tom Hardy's Bane, respectful. Superior to the previous live action depiction. And this movie gave Batman a happy ending, and that never happens.
When Alfred Nods at the end then the Reveals Bruce & Selena it was Priceless
The thing I love about this one is that it's all about consequences. Batman made a LOT of mistakes in the previous two films, and this addresses them. Nolan didn't preach to us at the time about whether Bruce was right or wrong to lie about Harvey Dent, or to draw an arbitrary line between killing someone and 'not saving' them, etc. He just waited, letting us draw our own conclusions...and in Rises, he SHOWS us that Batman was wrong, by showing us the consequences of his actions. It manages the tricky balancing act of being a triumphant story about Batman overcoming the mistakes of his past. A fitting end to the trilogy.
I love watching your vids ash, your excitement is palpable 🤣
Is “palpable” another word for “God damn irritating”? Everyone in my house came into the room I was in and asked what crazy person was screaming in here. FYI I’m watching this on an iPad… lol
Technically they were trained by the same guy, and Bruce turned out to be a good guy.
5:44 Ashleigh: "That kind of loyalty right now reminds me of Mad Max Fury Road"
Tom Hardy: "That comes later"
🤣
It makes me sad we don't get more movies after this.
100%. I would've loved a Robin movie with JGL.
I thought for sure they were taking it in that direction and was so disappointed they didn't branch off into that storyline. It would've been amazing.
Great things are great because they come to a conclusion. Having something continue on tends to become more and more shallow or hollow and likely fading into obscurity because it no longer stands out as unique.
A Robin movie with JGL would have been far superior to the garbage like the current Indiana Jones and the Dial of Dysentery.
These three are the Best superhero movies, marvelous. What an ending. That's how you do it!
The ending scenes were classic in this one Ashleigh!
A pleasure rewatching the Trilogy with you!
26:34 Gordon does have a spinoff... It's called "Gotham". LMFAO 🤣
48 minutes of Catwoman thirst. Now THAT'S what I call a review.😂🐱
If the Dark Knight was set in Hicksville, Batman would have to spend all of his time chasing down moonshiners and deadbeat dads.
Ashleigh I love the excitement and energy you bring to your reactions! It's so much fun watching movies with you. It really is like watching a movie with a friend. Even though we'll never meet I wish you all the happiness and success you deserve. Love you and God bless.
@17:04 I have a feeling ur medication's kicking in! 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh look, strong female characters in movies, they exist... outstanding performance of the whole cast!
But not unrealistically perfect!
Yeah but they're not a mary sue
They have for a long time. The difference is what we've had lately is _powerful_ female characters, and there's a big difference between powerful characters and strong characters.
But all feminists want these days is powerful females.
@@JakkFrost1 they've had powerful female roles all too, 🙄.
@@jlhanlon1980 exactly. But a powerful character doesn't equal a strong character.
I love how every reaction to this movie I see they cry when seeing alfred at the funeral, no other movie has gotten me that close to actually crying 😢
Ashleigh, your "That kind of loyalty reminds me of Mad Max Fury Road" made me chuckle, knowing the Tom Hardy connection.
Thank you Ash. I’m feeling pretty rough today and you help.
Have a wonderful day all.
@@clinhin Thank you very much. Unfortunately, my problem is lack of sleep and it's still going. Three days now. Yay. I'll get there eventually.
I hope you're day is excellent.
Many ppl didn't like this one, but reactors have mostly loved it. Good to see
Michael Caine is an amazing actor. His very first role was as a British officer in the 1964 movie Zulu. Also a great movie based on a real life event. It was the aftermath of what is considered the greatest defeat of a modern army by a primitive one.
