idk if you're gonna read this BUT, I started getting into hockey and learning game rules so of course I've started tuning into the PWHL cheering on the NY SIRENS in their 2nd season. They've actually just won their 1st game against last year's inaugural champs and then also won their second game putting them right now in 1st place. I think they're worth a watch and worth a little chatter LOL. love you's!
Great episode as always🥰👏🏽Love the bigups to Barbra Banda….much deserved⚽💪🏽Enjoyed the semi-bicker when Megan was explaining soccer rules and Sue said “just say you don’t know”😅😂🤣😆🤣 And love your manicures💅🏽
Omg!!! I totally forgot about the time when a field player would go against the keeper in the MLS!!! I loved that! Mark Chung for the Wizards had a sneaky step over that I Loved to watch. Also I think Pibe for Galaxy would do the 1 vs. 1 too and he is my all time favorite. Sue Bird thanks for reminding me of this!
100% a Megan in this bicker. Hawaiian rolls are sooo good and make Thanksgiving leftovers better. If you don't have Thanksgiving food, I love eating Hawaiian rolls with butter inside. So good.🙌
Two things! 1) For the obvious reason I am encouraging you to do a little yoga Sue. 😊 2) I am watching this while eating mini turkey sandwiches on Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. 😂 Love watching this weekly and I look forward to the podcast tour next year! 😁 (Putting it in the atmosphere.)
Oh yeah, I remember those shootouts, they were also used in some summer friendlies here in Italy. They were fun to watch but I think the conversion rate would be even higher than regular PKs, as it would be easier for players to score. Cool idea though! (btw I love Megan's style, she literally rocks every outfit) - Marco
se aplica la ley de la ventaja. está en el reglamento. si hay mano penal pero luego viene un gol. corresponde dejar seguir el juego si la ventaja está para el equipo damnificado por la mano! saludos desde argentina , las amo The law of advantage applies. It's in the regulations. If there is a penalty handball but then a goal comes. It is appropriate to let the game continue if the advantage is for the team affected by the hand! greetings from Argentina, I love you u are the best!
What are the results of the VAR on VAR? What is the rule? I thought I knew the rule until I heard Megan's explainer. My take: handball on defender, striker scores, the goal stands.
I think Megan was answering from pre-VAR because that’s how it would be called, I believe. VAR might change it but it’s so new which is probably why she doesn’t know for sure.
Thought so. In the current VAR era, the referee is playing advantage with no whistle while the attack is live; once the ball is in the back of the net, I don't see a recall for a penalty because of the handball. 😊
Of course Megan was right. She played decades of this sport. But she doesn't know the page/line of the laws. Not too surprising (and given how VAR has confused things, not surprising that she was less sure of that). Law 5 states that the referee "allows play to continue when an offence occurs and the non-offending team will benefit from the advantage..." So, a handball by the defending team that drops to the feet of an attacker will not be called back if the attacker scores immediately thereafter. It's a bit like the continuation rule in basketball. A player who is fouled while going up for her shot is allowed to continue her shot. The result of the foul is different depending on whether she scores: if so, she gets one shot; if not, she gets two. But allowing a football team an additional PK after scoring would dramatically alter the game in a way that one additional point in basketball does not, so no added PK. However, if the player who committed the offense needs to receive a misconduct sanction (yellow or red card), the referee will still do that (after the goal is scored).
Biscuits are for breakfast not thanksgiving leftovers. I’ve never even heard of anyone doing that. Between the two, gotta go Hawaiian rolls. But I just use a multigrain wheat for my thanksgiving leftovers.
Definitely a Megan, but especially for leftovers. Sorry, Sue, biscuits too dry. BTW, Sue, the best Thanksgiving sandwich was you in the Macy’s parade. Your picture was a “leftover” from 2004. 🥇🏀🇺🇸
I'm old, from a small town that had nothing for training an athlete. Later in life i always wondered what that training would be like. Especially the weight training. What are complete womens training programs on weights and are the soccer players training different than the womens teams.
I can't say I totally understand all the gender issues. What I do understand is that all individuals need to be treated with kindness and respect for who they are. As for "protecting women"... I feel is code for controlling women...our potential, our hopes/dreams and physical beings.
Yep. When these people show any respect or interest for women’s sports at literally any other time than just to diminish trans people then I’ll listen. It’s not about protecting women’s sports, it’s about sidelining trans women.
3 spots now that Kelsey Plum has withdrawn. I applaud that she is taking time for herself. As for Unrivaled, I won't be watching. I don't need to know about their personal lives...I want to watch basketball not a reality show. I prefer the ladies need to let their game talk for them.
I don't know the deal with banda. If she's being falsely accused that sucks. But every time this comes up Megan says it's not happening, when just this week/year it was happening in women's college volleyball. It doesn't take a flood. 1 trans woman in a women's sport can have a huge impact and I feel bad for all the women affected by it.
@@kristenmichelle3467 without doing my own research it's an if. I don't blindly believe everything I hear. They may be right about banda. But they are wrong that there isn't a problem.
@ why? We’re talking about .00000001% . Also if you haven’t a clue why not go google it before typing ? Either way I stand by the fact that all this will only end up hurting women. You’re apart of that.

I like your podcast
Megan’s take on WCBB and UConn had me dying because same 😂. If y’all don’t win no one cares because you’re supposed to win.
Sue and Megan! You two should have Syd and TP on🤣

Spot on about Banda. Delusional and sad and all of us should be outraged and protect every individual this is happening to.

Rolls all the way! And yes, I make sammich on the day of!
I agree with Sue about the PKs! Felt bad for those fans filling the stadium. Anti climactic.

Sue Bird you need to start doing Tai Chi. No joke it loosens you up and is great for joints.

Barbara Banda is a goddess! ⚡♀⚽

Ok but Sue's raspy voice was HOT!
neither... I don't want either of those

Where? When?
What do you mean if? They just told you she is a full blown woman. Always has been. They are right this movement is only going to hurt women.
@TF-vb9us sjsu. Just happened
