When checking the pistons height at TDC do you then drop the pistons down to lock them in to the crankshaft locking pin. I am currently building this type engine up but normally work on Plant which is gear timed.

hi Ajusa , i really do not understand the purpose os step 3 (look at this video at time 11:10). i think the purpose is to fastern the bolts. then why now you untighten them by 90 degree.

Hi Alan, if you look at the starter motor on the opposite side from the camber, just above it there is a plastic plate, if you remove that plate there is a timing hole there for the crankshaft lock.
Why the timing belt is japing
