I've said this many times but I'll say it once more...how has this channel not exploded in popularity. Genuine people, beautiful adventures, and relatable content for normal people with jobs can go do on thier own.
I dont think we post enough to trigger the youtube algorithm. It's honestly a very unreasonable amount that you tube wants a channel to post in order to grow. But what we appreciate is that the subscribers on this channel found us organically and not because of trying to trick the algorithm. This community of people that are part of this channel are incredible souls and they all show up and watch every time we post. Means more to us than just numbers and algorithms. I'll never compromise the enjoyment of the videos that we make for quantity and growth. It's always been to simply share experiences we find enriching with others. Much love.
I moved out to Boulder Co in the late summer of 2019, because i was staring another New England winter season squarely in the eyes. and i was NOT going to win that fight. But serously, the riding out here in coloraco... well, can be described in 1 word... as compared to the North East/New England... "pathetic"? the number of "gravel" events/races in Vermont... ALONE... is just unreal!! its almost every other weekend, up there. the riding in New England is *** MAGICAL ***. i was living in SW Mass. and the riding down there was un-freak'n-REAL!! it was a "choose-your-own-roller-coaster-route"... and choose your distance. MAYBE 5 stop signs in 100 mile route? and even fewer traffic lights. and up and down, and swooping around country/farm roads, sheltered by trees everywhere. carrying 1 small waterbottle, and filling up in every town, scattered every 10-15 miles. and it was a WEIRD day if i wasn't cheered at out the window, or at least waved to, on half-a-dozen times in 1 ride, by passing motorists
Roberta, I'm not sure why we never responded to your comment. I try to make it a point to appreciate everyone in return, so thank you for saying hello. Sorry for the delayed response.
Wow Steven! You're officially our first Super Thanks! That was very generous and much appreciated. I've been saving for a new camera and your generous super thanks is going right towards that. So grateful! Did you get out and ride or go adventure anywhere this week?
Thanks! we cant wait to share. We're working on a really cool project that will hopefully be ready by late spring. In the meantime we'll have plenty of winter adventures to share once the snow gets deeper.
Hi Caleb, just finished watching the MMBR series. Really enjoyed following along on your journey, looks like an awesome route-makes me want to get out there. Got to figure out what to watch next-thanks for sharing.
Hi Rusty, I'm really stoked that you enjoyed the series. It was, so far, my favorite videos to create and a progression of how I create them. Learned a lot. I really do feel that New England is a gem of a bikepacking region with so much diverse beauty and kind people. I hope you do make it out this way to ride. Please let us know if you do. Where are you from?
@@ThatMountainMoment Hi Caleb, we live in Western CT, about an hour from the coast. Lots of good riding here and CT is a surprisingly forested state. Also remarkably hilly in sections, especially where we are. I'm continuing to enjoy your videos.Just watched the early season skiing one and liked your enthusiasm for getting out, regardless of 'perfect conditions". It's good to appreciate what the moment offers and jump in.
I couldn't agree more. NOW is always happening and it's best to live in it as much as possible. We've never rode in CT but it sounds like we need to soon. Where's your favorite area to ride there?
I am proud to be your mother. ( and mother in law) Your view on time is beyond your time. It was so nice seeing my neck of the woods on video. My summer was spent on many of those roads and it was a summer I’ll never forget Looking forward to your winter adventures
Awe you have to say that stuff because you're my mom ha ha...and I'm grateful for that everyday of my life. Nikki and I are so glad that this series doubled as a scrapbook of family memories.
I'm currently laid up for 6 weeks because of a surgery. Somehow this series both greatly improved my state of mind by providing a distraction from the boredom and cabin fever, but also tortuous in reminding me I'm not able to get on my bike and explore the outdoors.🤷♂ We're at peak foliage here in Virginia with perfect fall weather, and I'm stuck looking out the window and watching RUclips videos. Either way I greatly enjoyed the series and thanks again for taking the time to share your adventures.
I'm sorry to hear that you're out for that long or any period of time for that matter but it sounds like your positive attitude is getting you through it. I went through a similar thing late summer with my knee so I can relate to you for sure. Injuries are never fun at the time but I've found that sometimes they can help bring to light things I've neglected such as foam rolling, stretching and weak areas that caused the injury in the first place. I hope your situation isn't something too serious and that you'll be turning your pedals again after those 6 weeks. Your body will be well rested and probably bounce back better than ever and your mind strengthened from the stillness you're enduring. I always tell myself that those adverse times are an opportunity to build inner strength and they are only a small timeline in a much bigger story. Much like the type 2 fun, I call it type 2 recovery. We're past peak foliage up here and snow is covering the higher elevations. Winter comes in strong here and seemingly overnight. Whenever you feel like reaching out during your downtime, to chat bikes or whatever, please don't hesitate. You got this!
@@ThatMountainMoment Me too! Recovering from shoulder surgery and so glad to have found your videos. Used to live in the Upper Valley, now Burlington. The Green Woodlands rule! Rode the southern half of the VTXL last summer (northern half the prior summer) and concur that the snowmobile trail from Grout Pond around Stratton was EPIC. We did it in the opposite direction - maybe easier! And we stayed at Winhall CG and biked around Lowell Lake and Horseshoe Acres campground outside of Reading where you did too. Thanks for the video tour and commentary. Happy gravel roads.
I hope you recover quickly from the surgery. At least you can still keep the legs moving with walks or light hikes while the shoulder is on the mend. Green Woodlands really is a special place. The vtxl is an incredible route. Vermont is literally the best gravel riding in the world. There's really no where quite like it. Thanks for saying hello!
Binge watching at its finest! Now to pack for my mini two night adventure. Oh, and the fact that she picked up her food out of the middle of the road and ate it was fantastic🤣
That's awesome you're taking an adventure. I love the moments that lead up to the adventure itself fint you? Ha ha, Nikki doesnt mess around when it comes to keeping fueled...dirt or no dirt.
