Thank you for help. I experienced the same Problem over the summer. I love mazda zoom zoom. I had 05 3s, now I have 05 6s and 12 cx9 touring. I bought the whole kit and repaired it and now it's works perfectly fine. Thanx a lot.
Thank you, I have had the same problem last summer, and now that it's about that time again it started to get stuck in park again. Just ordered the part, hopefully it fixes the problem!
I have a Mazda CX7I believe it has the same setup with the cables there and if anybody is just an emergency situation. What I found out is that if you pull off the trim around the center console that has like the cigarette lighter and all that just the plastic that surrounds that whole shifter, and you can reach down and pull on that cable. And it will release the shifter out of park and let you shift in to drive. But if you're gonna drive the car like that, you have to leave that whole plastic piece off. That goes around the shifter to be able to shift out a park every time you park the car, but if you're an emergency and you don't have the money to get the part. Or do you can't find the part? That's a quick solution is just reached down there. Grab the cable with your finger in pull on it about a 1/2 an inch. And It will release the car out of park a 0:06 nd you can shift in to drive.
Thanks for your video. I had the same problem and was stuck in park. But I was able to fabricate a beefier spring. We don't have super hot weather here. I think the spring just wore out. Your video showed me where the problem was.
Can you describe how you fabricated a beefier spring? I've got the same problem and bought an assembly from eBay, same issue 🤪. But now I have the old unit I can play with to replace that spring.
@@kkamysekable I was very lucky on this. But I went to a hardware store (Lowe's) and got a pack of assorted springs. I found one that would fit on the spindle. Then I had to make it shorter by cutting it down with a dremel cut off wheel. I had to pull the prongs out a little so it would grab. And it works!
I’m trying to find the part and nothing is coming up. Is it the whole assembly or just the cable that needs to be replaced? Facing this exact issue. Hoping to resolve soon
@@kristincappelli From all the searching I've done, the part is discontinued from the manufacture. The only option is buying the part used from somewhere, unfortunately.
@@kristincappelli I just purchased the entire shift assembly used on ebay from a salvage yard for $99 it was the only one they had for the 2005 model year. If you don't find it try running the AC till the cabin cools down.
Can I just deleted, just go from park to the gear selectors with out that cable from the brake pedal. It gets crazy in summer time, cant move shift selector stick from park. Like to break it some times. Got to play with it then go. Thank for the info Mazda mecanich
Thank you for help. I experienced the same

@@jeffsowers6021 Super! I think I'll give it a go. Might get a bit more use out of this car before it goes off to the junkyard 🤣. Thanks much!
Great Video
What if it is the solenoid and not the spring?
And I agree with everyone else: edit down the video, and do a voice over, not music.
Thank you helped me out I replaced the part and now it’s fixed
Hey, where did you find or order your part from? Thank you
Thank you. This information was very helpful.
What's with the porno movie music?

If you can find one, please let me know! We've been looking for a couple of years. I doubt we will be lucky enough to find one, unfortunately.

I couldn't hear him, music is louder than his voice
Thank you very much. Don't listen to the comments about the music. The video is very good and informative.
Cheaper & easier solution; Run your air conditioner until the cabin temperature goes down [=
Replacing a whole piece not an easy solution; that’s the last resort.
Very seductive music
no need for music. Having a hard time hearing you over the unnecessary music
Turn the music off. What’s wrong with you.
Music is cool
The porno music is very annoying. Couldn't stay with you bud.
Why do you play music louder than you talk. Crazy. Do you play music while talking on the phone as well?🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼🤦🏼
I.dont.like.music.inbetwen
I stopped watching because i couldnt hear you over that screaming music
Terrible video you didnt show how to take the plastic from around the shifter to go internal of the shifter
I learn at the salvage yard in the winter months.
