Tiger TV They're both fucking brave. I don't know why people always feel the damn need to put one thing over the other as if they can't both be described by the same adjective. Also, realistically, those who follow Islam the way they're supposed to should only experience family disappointment (not that it's not hurtful). That being said, again, something shouldn't be reduced to nothing merely because there's something else that can be bad. Would you walk up to a person crying about a family member dying from cancer and say "what's really sad is that there are people who deal with more pain than you. There are people who were raped and brutally murdered"? Are both pains not valid? Can the act of leaving a horrible cult and those who leave Islam (who actually have consequences) both be brave?
There's a Scientology center not far from where I live. My first experience with it, was this woman asking about my life, asking questions likes do you feel depressed, do you feel alone, are you doing bad in school. I was a teenager at the time, and it felt predatory. I'm glad I never got in.
@ luis cortazar, my sister and I had a similar experience. I was 21 and my sister in her teens. They stopped us for a personality test, and because we were just curious, we took it. When we were taken to a room and given a 100 multiple choice test, I regretted the decision since it would take a while. Questions began to repeat but were being worded differently. I caught on, we finished the test, and I received a call a week later. The man was very adamant on how we should see our results. I told him we did it for fun and not to call ever again.
Keep away from them .Leah said there all loosers. They follow her around.Ask people questions if they approach you .If they don't answer walk off .They are a lot of fraudster on our streets .
I wasn't going to bring it up but Leah is beautiful and she only needs to lose the clown paint. The nails and the clown mouth-paint only distract from her beauty. No true beauty can look her best in that mess.
The French don't always get it right, but they did when they wouldn't give Scientology religious status and declared it a cult, as all other countries should have done. A science fiction cartoon strip that evolved into a religion is stranger than fiction but unfortunately true.
@@snu3877 In Germany it isn't considered neither a church nor a religion, too. They only have the "official club" status, which basically means they are allowed to have members, rules and taxes as/within a group (in the same way like a football club or an airsoft club or something else can be "official"). Scientology is under surveillance by the government and the members feel discriminated because of that and the fact, that people and the public see them as a cult and refuse to employ them or to work with them. Personally, I have learned at school they in fact ARE a cult and Germany is quite... careful regarding cults.
The French also opposed us going into Iraq and Afghanistan because they thought it would be an unwinnable and costly conflict. They got it right there, too.

I doubt it will ever happen. Leah Remini has said the reason why she hasn't reached out to Katie Holmes. She said of course she doesn't know, but she is pretty sure that in order for Katie to have left the church without incident to her or her child, she probably had to agree to something where she never speaks out against the religion and cannot be in contact with suppressive people. While Leah doesn't know this for sure, she doesn't want to put Katie in a compromised position by reaching out to her. I'm guessing though that since Katie not only left the church but divorced Tom Cruise, who they basically hail as their King, that she probably did have to agree to something like that in order to keep her and her child safe.
She's a amazing women and I'm so grateful and inspired from what she's done and continues to do. As a former scientologist, I vividly recall when I really saw (well heard) the real L. Ron Hubbard. I was part of a cover band that volunteered to play at a scientology "event" where speakers praised LRH, gave testimonials, etc., plus there was refreshments and us playing current cover songs of the day. Anyway, the major thing they were promoting that day was Hubbard's brand new music that he wrote, performed and recorded. The speaker really talked it up, said it would revolutionize music forever. As a serious musician who studied and played multiple genres, I and the rest of my band were quite intrigued. I was thinking, "well, with all those trillions of lives he now can commandingly recall and use, this could be freakin' amazing". Like Bach or Mozart times 100, right? Well, after the big buildup, it was debuted. I truly was shocked at how bad it was. A very simple, cliche' piano instrumental that could have been found in beginning of a Hanon method book, Level ONE! As it played, I looked at the twisted faces around me, most of them trying real hard not to believe their ears, some diehards maybe rationalizing it was somehow "beyond" their understanding, but most knew, it was pretty hard not to. Definite shades of the old story "The Emperor's New Clothes" were happening. The musician in me became too embarrassed to want to be there any longer, so I left and soon started questioning what else isn't for real. Today, I'm particularly grateful to that selfish narcissist and his dumb little song, it cleared away enough of the fog to free my mind (and my ass did promptly follow).
yeah lowkey but i think its because she wants to give the audience a taste of leah's docu-series rather than a full explanation. shes wants people to want to watch the full docu-series.

The host and guest have been close friends for over 15 years, so they sometimes veer into humor when conversing. It's a natural conversation between two friends. And she got her message across, so all is fine.

So glad to hear Leah calling it by its true name now, it's an *organization* not a "church". Everything going forward depends on taking away its legal designation as a "religion".
basilrose I don't really see the difference between calling Scientology a church or a cult. People act like a church is not build on fairy tales and controlling people, it's always a few at the top that are in charge and can ruin the lives of millions of people, they also get all the money.
The Scientology "organization" basically scammed the IRS into declaring them a church. Basically they organized all their followers to file thousands of bogus lawsuits against the IRS as independent suits. The court system couldn't declare them to be a single class because they were individual suits. So, the IRS had all these lawsuits and had to keep hiring more and more lawyers to defend itself. Once these ass hats had the IRS over a barrel like that, they approached the head of the IRS and said "call us a church, and I'll make all these suits disappear" and that's exactly what happened. What SHOULD have happened is Congress should have passed some legislation that allowed the courts to "batch" any law suits that are brought by members of the same organization against a federal bureau, so they could all be thrown out at the same time. These scumbags used a loophole in our legal system to essentially get the federal government to sanction a conspiratorial racket as a "church". The whole thing should be dismantled under RICO statutes.
"What's the difference between a cult & a religion? In a cult there's a guy running it, who knows it's a scam and he's pulling all the strings. In a religion, that guy's dead." -heard it on Joe Rogan (the episode that had Leah on it, she was awesome)
Leah should be an inspiration to ALL women. She takes care of things. You can't mess with her. And plus, she was from the "King of Queens" for goodness sake!
Leah is a presence people need to see rn. She’s just such a passionate fighter and does so in the face of one of the world’s most powerful organizations. I remember her story coming out but I was only in middle school. Knowing her story gives me immense respect for her.
I was a mormon convert or 30 years before I got out. Although scientology is it's own brand of crazy, there is little difference between them and mormons. Btw, Exmormons loved Leah's show because it helps them realize that all cults are the same.
Micki Sannar Getting power, money and isolating the believers from critics, telling them there will be punishment if they don't follow the rules, only their religion can save them, everyone else is wrong and mislead? I'd say you can apply this not only to cults but to the big religions as well, even though Christianity has been getting more chill over the years, in the middle ages you'd be shunned for not being a Christian as well, probably executed if you say something against it
Honeysuckle Blossom actually most protestant religions do not. Baptist, Church of Christ, etc. These are churches. Scientology, Mormons, Jehovah Witness are examples of cults. There really is a huge difference. Religion is all mind control though. Be good or be punish. I respect atheist a lot and most Christians don't, which makes them hypocritical.
Honeysuckle Blossom I'm a Christian and we don't cut off ppl who aren't Christians. Unfortunately a lot of religions call themselves Christians which makes all Christians look the same n we are not. In Christianity theres no mind control or control period so all Christians are not like that.
The only reason it's still going with so few members is because the scam is still making money for those on top who use the pooling of money to make money off real estate. It's all about real estate
Leah is doing such an important job telling everyone about this crazy cult. Me and 2 friends were kicked out of the scienctology church in amsterdam because we went in drunk and stoned and asked to talk to xenu.
"THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN CONTROL PEOPLE IS TO LIE TO THEM. You can write that down in your book in great big letters. The only way you can control anybody is to lie to them." -L. Ron Hubbard
@@Nina-vs1ry Well, Corporatocracy is religion. They have hundreds of millions of people from every walk of life who are devoted to them and worship them like gods. As a consequence of that, they dominate every aspect of our lives without oversight. If you include that, then I'm on board.
I'm so glad she decided to speak out on it no matter what they do. She's not only exposing therm and getting the truth about them out, but it's making people question organized religion as a whole and what unhealthy churches can do to families. She's really helping a lot of people, I think.

Leah Remini is a brave, strong, awesome badass! Love her!! She is exactly the kind of direct, no bullshit, intelligent and funny type of person that I'm partial to, aspire to and surround myself with.
I watched this video even though I can't stand Chelsea's politics because I find what Leah Remini is doing to be courageous in the face of unimaginable blowback.
Leah I can honestly say I was involved in Scientology in this early sixties in Buffalo New York and it was really strange to watch how they handle people if you didn't have any money they wanted nothing to do with you but if they found out you had any money they milked it away from you as fast as they could. And once they broke you they threw you out the door. I swear to God this is the truth and I never got involved with them again because they are just out to get your money and that's all
Not just cults but the same goal of parting people from their money holds true for some long established religions, companies, political groups and certain so-called charities.
Unfortunately they would not be destroyed by that. They only RECENTLY got that "Church tax exempt status". They were making big money before that. Unbelievable that so many people would pay them that kind of money for B.S.
Leah is a very strong woman to break from a near lifetime in a cult, and one where you don’t know if they will do something to your life. I think she opened up their Pandora’s box and others are stepping forward.
Here in San Francisco in the 1970's young Scientologists would hang out on busy street corners downtown, "FREE Personality Test!" So a lot of us would take it. This was of course before any of us knew what Scientology actually was. I was in my late teens and after the test they offered me a job; WOO! HOO! I needed the work at the time. I went through the introduction and everything was fine - they did not say much about the real stuff behind it all. Then they said, "Now, you can't tell anyone about any of this. You understand that, right?" No, I didn't understand that. In any event, my day was over, I said "Bye-bye" and never set foot in anything like that again. Bye-bye, Scientology!
Yes, I remember I grew up in Novato in 70's and 80's, and Dianetics with L. Ron Hubbard was a big deal. You'd go get a free personality test, and the evaluator would say you were in need of their help.
I am so glad that A&E is airing this series about a "church" doing such things to their people. It is so amazing of Leah Remini to stand up for herself and those that have gone through horrific things for their faith. I hope that others see this and see a way out and perhaps the Catholic church will follow. It is so powerful to stand with the victims and get back to the basics of faith. Belonging to an organization should NOT cause pain or trauma and if it does, the organization should be held responsible.

MissyB 75 I don’t think you read that sentence correctly 😂🤣. Chelsea gets distracted easily. It’s supposed to balance the seriousness and comedy of the subject. It’s also just another way to make the segment last longer.
I met a bunch of scientologists once , and they tried getting me to buy their book dionetics. when I refused and told her I was actually on my way to a doctor appointment for my mental health, she used that to exploit me . she showed me a series of videos about how I shouldn't go pick up my medication and instead spend that money for my medicine on that book because the book would "change my life". it was so scary to see how evil and manipulative they are , I didn't believe in cults or any of that kind of thing but after I got a glimpse into these scientologists , I truly believe there is some sinister type shit that goes on in scientology. & I think it goes further then just exploiting and manipulating people into money. if they're so pushy with trying to sell books for money and to brainwash you into having their same mindset , based on a book. imagine what goes on that a lot of people have no idea even goes on. its so creepy to be in the presence of scientologists , they all have tunnel vision. they have one purpose and 1 purpose only , play you for a fool.
violet goodman what do you mean though. you obviously don't know anybody who deals with psychological problems. I'm not too sure what you're trying to say, but the way mental health is handled is a joke, they love handing out meds and diagnoses just because it helps the system work like a well oiled machine
+violet goodman I wouldn't go that far, its not all bullshit. If it weren't for meds I would have been dead, bar none hands down I know that for a fact. Because I was dead set on killing myself, I had decided that if I was not able to receive help with my mental health issues. It took me a long time to obtain help by being set up with a doctor FINALLY after several emergency room visits, trying to get help from a local mental health organization where they suggested fuckin breathing techniques for psychotic behavior, after all that I finally got to see a psychiatric. That was my last chance and hope. I was prepared and even slightly relieved to kill myself if the medication didnt have any positive affect. The reason I didnt kill myself before the medication was because I was holding out hope. I didnt want to die, I wanted to get help and make my mental issues better or go away because I was in so much pain and being driven crazy. I wanted to live a life, not die. But death was my only option if what I was experiencing didnt get better, if that makes sense to you. There's massive issues with big pharma, over prescribing, lack of testing on certain medications, etc. But I can't stand behind the statement that its all bullshit because it has helped me greatly. Im not cured, I don't feel perfect, I still have issues but nothing like before.
I watch re-runs of the King of Queens on early morning TV here in the UK. This actress doesn't look any different from the way she did more than twenty years ago!!! 😳

They cut you off from your family when you join and they cut you off from your family when you leave.

This is just vile propoganda against a great religion.
The French don't always get it right, but they did when they wouldn't give Scientology religious status and declared it a cult, as all other countries should have done. A science fiction cartoon strip that evolved into a religion is stranger than fiction but unfortunately true.
Wow, I had no idea that other countries do not recognize it as a religion. Somebody in a comment above said that the UK also considers it a cult.
C’est la vie, c’est très magnifique.

I would love to hear an interview between both Katie Holmes and Leah Remini. Actor on Actor sort of scale. That would be amazing.
Cally Alvarado I know!! I would love that!
Yeah, I understand why she wont. Just said it would be amazing if they did.
I accept this theory.
Cally Alvarado actor on actor????? Wouldn't exactly be DeNiro and Pacino would it you idiot.

So glad to hear Leah calling it by its true name now, it's an *organization* not a "church". Everything going forward depends on taking away its legal designation as a "religion".
basilrose THANK YOU & AMENNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!
basilrose I don't really see the difference between calling Scientology a church or a cult.
Religion is an organization. Lol.
its definitely a cult not an organization lol

Micki Sannar Me too. Once I left, and stayed in Utah. The way they treat you is eye opening. Mormonism is a cult too.
Honeysuckle Blossom actually most protestant religions do not. Baptist, Church of Christ, etc. These are churches. Scientology, Mormons, Jehovah Witness are examples of cults.
