And if she thinks, she is brain washed, then she sure is weak, not brave. She has some personal issues with them. Why don't she reveal what that truth is rather than pointing towards others. Sure she cares!
What is the honest truth that made her leave this Org? Everyone is selfish in their own way, everyone does something against another due to their own failure. What is that failure that has put her into this frustration?
Leah & friends have also saved many people from other oppressive, controlling, cult-like religions in so excellently showing Scientology for what it is.

This is so fascinating. I've always been shocked by the amount of people who have been taken in by Scientology because to me, Scientology always seemed like a cult. It's great that Leah Remini is speaking out about it.
I read an article/interview about Tom Cruise once, and it was generally favorable, the reporter went to his house, they played tennis, etc., he described how Tom made him feel like his best friend. He then wrote it only struck him as he was leaving...he'd never been invited inside. That stuck with me for some reason, like he's great at putting up a great front, but you never really get close, never see what's really there.
He seems to be pretending to be actually who he is as though it's not real like a phony wanting to give an image but not truly who he actually is. Never met him he has a self important type of personality which is obvious in all the interviews I've seen him do even helps him to be a very effective actor he is ALWAYS playing a role and it looks like he was this way since he was a child but it's my opinion not necessarily the fact
I'm so glad that there's brave people like Leah who stand by those who have been hurt by this very dangerous cult. And telling the truth of it's obvious abuses.
You also save me Leah.. I watch the movie and also the first season of your show. I was so close to let my bf convince me into it but im glad i googled the facts. He is soo brainwashed is sad to see it. He literally told me that the church has asked him many times to handle me so we broke up. It is hard but im glad it happened now and not 20-30 years from now 🙏🏻 thank you!
They did the same with Cat, Jim Carey's girlfriend, they really wanted that celebrity on their platform. When he broke up with her, she suddently "was suicided".
Wow! I couldn’t be happier for you! I can’t imagine what would’ve occurred otherwise, children probably involved... so much more difficult to leave (if you’d come to that realization!) at that point! Take care & I hope you’re doing much better if you’re in another relationship. 💜💗💜

Tom Cruise is in total denial! Mr. Cruise, if you had very little money, how long do you think you would last in Scientology?? You wouldn't. God bless you, Leah, for being so brave in exposing this evil empire of spineless bullies. You go, girl!!!
How is that gonna stop the cult? Cruise means nothing to the cult but a celebrity face. He's replaceable. And we don't know what's really happening to him in the cult. He could be blackmailed into remaining within the cult for all we know.
Tia Aaron I would disagree in that tom cruise is absolutely NOT replaceable for them right now. They’ve put all of their eggs into his basket at this point... him jumping ship would be a nightmare for them. I’d gleefully with them “luck” maintaining their image with John Travolta, Danny masterson and greta van susteren as the public faces of their organization lol I don’t think it would die entirely, but Tom cruise could absolutely demolish that church if he was suddenly inspired to do so.
I like Leah Remini - intelligent, honest and doesn't throw her weight around and pretend to be a know it all. Instead, simply asks people to get informed themselves and research if they want to find out for themselves. I wish her well.
She aint honest. I saw a few of her interviews and I worked at a scientology organization. She misleads people and maybe this is why she was kicked out of the church.
@@ericag5346 you have to know how church works. They wanted her money so badly, she was kicked out.😉 Scientology means "study of wisdom" and it works and I use it. I am not 🏃 ng anywhere. At first I thought he was embarrassed of me but he pulled me to the side and said he apologizes for acting weird. People from the Watchtower also work out at this gym and if he sees me talking to him they are going to think im “otherworldly “ in otherwords not from the cult lol. There was a day where he cried in front of me. It’s sad. Truly feel he never managed to live a full life of happiness Never saw him since that day.
Raphael Ferrero WOW that’s truly sad but true of how some JWs end up acting. They want to be themselves, they want to be free, but freedom comes at an extremely high price. I hope that guy will be okay such behavior gone on too long causes depression, bipolar disorder and unfortunately in a few suicide. Be good and be yourself; if you cannot do both where you are in life in my opinion you are doing neither. We cannot truly do good or love others if the real self isn’t allowed to shine. There’s a big difference between trying to improve ourselves and work against immorality our weaknesses and denying our true nature. Thanks for listening to that JW and sharing.
I had to flee and escape my family and other people trying to force me to take psychiatric drugs. Larry and Leah believing psychiatry helps people is hypocrisy . Psychiatry is a cult just the same as Scientology is, and it is FORCED on children and conditioned on them at a young age. There are also more people in the Psychiatry cult than Scientology.
I'm glad that Leah has the balls to stand up against Scientology! I don't understand how people fell into a sy-fy writers world of religion! It shows me that most people are followers and do not question what's right in front of them.
Just because you can't imagine it doesn't mean people are weak for being a member. The truth is: We are simply lucky that we haven't been born into a situation where most of our family is in a cult and we grow up believing that to be our truth. We've had the opportunity to grow up and shape our own beliefs and morals. Many members of scientology weren't as lucky. Also, Dr. Philip Zimbardo wrote a study about likeliness of joining a cult: "The majority of 'normal, average, intelligent' individuals can be led to engage in immoral, illegal, irrational, aggressive and self destructive actions that are contrary to their values or personality--when manipulated situational conditions exert their power over individual dispositions." Google it, learn more, educate yourself, don't simply say you don't understand how people can be so weak.

Great show! Thank you Leah Remini! I still shudder when I think back to a time in the late 1980s. There was a lady Scientologist living in my block of flats at the time. My Stepbrother often used to visit me. And over time he got talking to this lady, who managed to persuade him to read the book on Dianetics. He came extremely close to joining Scientology. He was 21, and this was way before the internet etc. The change in him over the weeks that followed after a few discussions with this woman, and after attending a few meetings with her at her center were frightening to say the least. Baring in mind, none of us really knew then, what we now know about this cult. Yet, I feared by Stepbrother was becoming brainwashed and I kept telling him that something felt terribly off......... I won't go into all the details of how and when he had the breakthrough ( it was a horrible experience for him. ) However, I am forever grateful that he decided not to join.

So strange how Scientology trolls its members and gets them to respond to negative reactions from the public. True faiths don't encourage hating, hurting, hiding like Scientology does.

Leah Remini...a real force of truth and healing for the human species! 💖 I had been thinking about Scientology and never missed an episode of your documentary. That was all I needed to stir clear. 👍
I remember watching a documentary about scientology years ago, when Leah Remini was still in it. The whole time she was being interviewed, there were upper level scientoligest sitting in the room. I thought then it was really creepy and controlling, that they wouldn't even let her do an interview alone.

I can’t help but like Leah Remini. Aside from being a beautiful woman on the outside you can hear in her voice & see in her face the empathy & compassion she feels for others. I got the audio version of her book, “Troublemaker: Surviving Scientology & Hollywood” read by her (which I prefer when the author reads it) & it was wonderful. It covered most of her life from childhood, how she made it in Hollywood, & how she got into Scientology as a child. It’s funny, insightful, very interesting & emotional. I highly recommend it!
Jesus Larry, needs to learn to let people finish a single sentence before interrupting them with a diverting question. I'm amazed that bossy remini who always tries to dominate whoever she's talking to, didn't directly say "YO - let me finish!"
Amazing that she said her biggest fear in all this is that nothing happens. I was so sure she would say her biggest fear is for her life. That shows how much she wants the truth out and how genuine she is!
If a religion demands that you pay to play ... it’s not worth it. It should be out of goodness of your heart donations, not “demands”. Anytime a organization forces you to do things against your better judgement ...
What's crazy is higher up scientologists are watching everything Leah does, probably posting in these comments rn, to try to slander her and lie to defend themselves.
Respect! She admits to her shortcomings and puts it all on the table. Anyone who can be honest with the good and bad have earned my trust. You'll never hear a current scientologist admit to anything negative they do.
"Psychiatry helps a lot of people" psychiatry is a cult that poisons people with drugs... What hypocrisy. I was poisoned by psychiatry for 17 years from age 11 to 28. I will never get my mind back in those years, and I have developed a neurological disease because of those drugs. What hypocrisy to say Scientology is a cult but psychiatry is HELPING people? They are poisoning people who have trauma, often times victims, and the scapegoat of narcissistic parents. (Im not a Scientologist btw, I really hope another organization or class action will really take down psychiatry. It is evil and cult like in its own right.)
Lea is very well spoken and explains the workings of Scientology so clearly . She says she was in the church to help people . Now that she has seen first hand the evil within the organization and exposed it , she really is helping people !!!
funpowderplot - Oh I know I was being facetious but completely understand. I just listen to some of their recruiting tactics and they sound insane, to far out of reach and almost like a pyramid scheme. If someone came to me and tried to tell me about this, I would roll my eyes and say "Yea right" and walk away. But I very much appreciate Leah's brave work against them. I can only imagine the scrutiny she is subjected to from these people.
Watch out, this is a naive statement wondering how it could happen. Anyone , at a vulnerable point in life or emotion can be seduced into a high control group. Children are raised in them not knowing any other way. LEARN about the methods and signs so you will not be seduced yourself at a vulnerable time.
Tee Because it works. You can google "talk to scientologist online" and they will share wins & successes. Scientology means "knowing how to know" or study of wisdom.

I'm having a hard time discerning whether Larry King is just being a tough interviewer to draw out thorough answers, or if he is covering himself from being seen hostile towards the Church.
Thomas Jarvis think he's a secret member.. Lol. Jokes) . Maybe he has Scientology friends that got in his ear 1st, & all though he's not one, doesn't like what she's doing or something... I kind of felt it too.. Like he's got an issue about it
That is how he has always interviewed people. Larry King is from the old school of journalism. The story isn't about him, his opinions, or feeling on the subject.
Norman D 100% agree. If you watch some of his other interviews, he asks tough questions - which prompts the person he’s interviewing to defend/explain their stance. Obviously, his questions come from his own curiosity, but he rarely (if ever) comes off as biased.
She’s definitely doing God’s work now. She is so brave. I can’t imagine how difficult it must be to stand against the very same thing you’ve been indoctrinated to believe for 35 years. God bless her
I’m so glad a lot of the people in the comments are noticing the similarities between Scientology and Jehovah Witnesses. My grandparents are Jehovah Witnesses and so is my uncle. My mom was never one but I studied the religion for 5 years and literally saw how my uncles disconnected from my grandmother after she fell away and my mother who was never in and me and my brother when we stopped studying. My aunt and my cousins want nothing to do with us and have never treated us like family, it’s so sad because my family is not very big. I also saw the extent of what the effect had on my cousins who were never allowed to go to public school which extremely held them back intellectually and financially now since they’re older and have no education. The religion also protects child molesters by encouraging the overseers & the elders to deal with those situations in house. It’s legit crazy.
MaNnYxFrEsHh yikes thanks for sharing that. Lots of comments to that extent but little detail in those comments. We should all do research on information. This is the information / misinformation age. This is the format that warfare/power grabs/ etc is taking.

I have never understood how they can refer to this as a church when they charge their membership for life improvement and spiritual guidance. It's BS from the get go. I am really happy that Leah finally decided to abandoned this total lie. She is much to valuable to us.
She is telling the absolute truth! I also was a victim of Scientology in West Palm Beach, FL back in the late 60 s early 70's I don't remember, it's been so very long ago...I was 19 yrs at the time...I was a Spiritualist, and to this day, I'm still very much the same. At the time they tried to talk me into this cult..so I went to 1 of Ron L. Hubbards classes....and they said nothing of merit, except, if you hate your parents, get rid of them, join us, and I did not hate my parents, I loved my family..and I knew this was bull shit...so I never returned, and they continued to hunt me down for 10 years, and when they could not find me, they harrased my Mother for the same 10 years..what they didn't know I moved to NYC to persue my acting career..My self and my family ignored this horrible, dangerous organization...so after 10 years they finally gave up harrassing my family to find me.. Highly dangerous, false religion, brain washing cult...glad I was smart enough to see thru them after my first meeting/indocrination because I went to a lecture seeking truth...which was nothing but lies...I'm so glad my Spiritualist beliefs, and my highly psychic intuition...got me out asap! None the less, they harrassed my Mother for 10 years trying to get ahold of me, saying it was so important...I told Mom, don't tell them anything...and well, my Mother was also a psychic scholar...so it worked out well. For others, innocent victums...it's a sad verdict, because they fell for the Scientologist threats and abuse.

@@valerieann8007 I do not know what other people she has saved that were of from different religion. Care to elaborate what these other religions are, if you don't mind! Because I have only heard her speak of one religion and never of any other. I never knew she was against other religions as well...oh 🤔
This is so fascinating. I've always been shocked by the amount of people who have been taken in by Scientology because to me, Scientology always seemed like a cult. It's great that Leah Remini is speaking out about it.
"Inventing is a good word" Go Leah! Spot on!
Hahaha
I read an article/interview about Tom Cruise once, and it was generally favorable, the reporter went to his house, they played tennis, etc., he described how Tom made him feel like his best friend. He then wrote it only struck him as he was leaving...he'd never been invited inside. That stuck with me for some reason, like he's great at putting up a great front, but you never really get close, never see what's really there.
So the interviewer just waltzed into his house 😅
My ex must be one of his long lost relatives lol
He seems to be pretending to be actually who he is as though it's not real like a phony wanting to give an image but not truly who he actually is. Never met him he has a self important type of personality which is obvious in all the interviews I've seen him do even helps him to be a very effective actor he is ALWAYS playing a role and it looks like he was this way since he was a child but it's my opinion not necessarily the fact
I'm so glad that there's brave people like Leah who stand by those who have been hurt by this very dangerous cult. And telling the truth of it's obvious abuses.

Thank goodness! Handle you? I would have cut and run as soon as I heard ppl I didnt know wanted me to be handeled, bless you for leaving!!

I would disagree in that tom cruise is absolutely NOT replaceable for them right now. They’ve put all of their eggs into his basket at this point... him jumping ship would be a nightmare for them.
I’d gleefully with them “luck” maintaining their image with John Travolta, Danny masterson and greta van susteren as the public faces of their organization lol
I don’t think it would die entirely, but Tom cruise could absolutely demolish that church if he was suddenly inspired to do so.
Great interview. Leah is so beautiful. I've been a super fan of hers forever. Thank God she was able to get out of that cult with her family.
I like Leah Remini - intelligent, honest and doesn't throw her weight around and pretend to be a know it all. Instead, simply asks people to get informed themselves and research if they want to find out for themselves. I wish her well.

Web Rookie Your agenda shows through that transparent post, my friend. It sounds as though you're motivated far more by ideology than by fact. What evidence do you have to suggest that Remini had nothing to do with the writing of her book? Based on your writing technique alone, i'm going to guess that you aren't a highly educated individual either. Credentials matter, as you yourself suggest.
She left right after I left the cult of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Her sentiments echo so much of what I feel.
Brother we miss you, find your way back. Witness these...
Chet Chelios Nothing to come back to except lies, false love bombing and a sense of purpose that is hollow once one knows the origins of the cult.
May YOU find freedom of expression, a real love accepting people as they are not as you’ve been told people must be lest they be damned and above all a thirst to know what’s really true. For the REAL TRUTH does set us all free!!!
I had a massive crush on a guy I met at the gym who is a Jehovah Witness. Really cool guy we spoke a lot but noticed his demeanor would change and he would look around a lot. It’s sad. Truly feel he never managed to live a full life of happiness
Never saw him since that day.

The trick is to get them as children. And yes people are searching. It’s sad tgough

That is how he has always interviewed people. Larry King is from the old school of journalism. The story isn't about him, his opinions, or feeling on the subject.

She is telling the absolute truth! I also was a victim of Scientology in West Palm Beach, FL back in the late 60
s early 70's I don't remember, it's been so very long ago...I was 19 yrs at the time...I was a Spiritualist, and to this day, I'm still very much the same.
