- Learn how to make a pretty rounded origami pot, cup or vase! This origami pot can be tall or short & is made from 1 sheet of square paper, no glue or cutting is required.

This origami pot is not truly round, it's octagonal, the pleated design makes it seem quite round, especially when using thicker paper.
I recommend using thick paper, but it will work nicely with any kind.
There are two versions included in this tutorial, the first is a short, wide pot. The second is the tall, thin pot.
You could make lots of size variations of this by folding to different points (like at 12:58).
To make a lid, just use slightly larger paper. about 1 cm smaller (for example 21 x 21cm for lid, and 20 x 20 cm for box).
In the photos, one has another inside it (blue and pink), the one inside was folded backwards, if that makes sense!

I'm a beginner so I don't know whether this is usual when making origami, but I felt like I folded the paper a hundred times, only to always return to the square, haha.
My pot turned out... sort of weird. I made mistakes with the proportions and, because of that, some diagonal sections became uneven, and the whole structure looks quite fragile. Oh well, I guess practice will make it perfect - I really want to make about three potted plants...

No, when u see the video properly, again and again you'll be easily able to make that because firstly I too face this problem but the next day when I see the video again and tried so I was very happy that I have made these very properly.

My pro tip: put a quarter in the bottom when finished folding to add weight to stabilize the finished plant and pot
Do the folds putting it over a jar, close to these size his doing. It's easier. I just though cover a spray can lid doing this. Thats what it looks like and its stronger make.

Impossible to do from 10:30. I just can't fold them inwards. It just doesn't fit, even though every folds is super accurate. In fact, the folding part was really easy. I just can't really see what is happening and can't reproduce it.
:/ not recommended, it's complicated and time consuming. in the end it doesn't even look as good.

My first one that I made was a little bit weird, but then when you know what you need to do etc, you have an amazing cup!
Lol I was so confused the whole time until the end when everything clicked and I was so happy with the end result. I love challenges so this was really fun to do and I recommend it to anyone who loves to work their brain and have a challenge. Thank you for the tutorial 😊
However for new people watching the tutorial I would recommend that you watch a few steps then pause the video and do them so that you don’t mess up on one of those steps thinking that she was going to continue it in a different way
