    Something has never made sense to me. If you look in one direction and see a galaxy three hundred million years old and you look in the opposite direction and see a galaxy three hundred million years old and they’re almost thirty billion light years away from each other, how does that work?

    • @MichaelSPrice
      @MichaelSPrice Месяц назад +1

      The light we are seeing today when we get these images, is light that was emitted when those galaxies were 300 million years old. It's been traveling to us for the last 13.5 Billion years. We are now seeing the VERY distant past, not the current state of those galaxies.
      If we were the midpoint between two galaxies then the light would continue past us for another 13.5 Billion years until it reached the other galaxy. So they are 27 (13.5 +13.5) billion light years apart, and at this point in time we are seeing them as they were at 300 Million years old.

    • @TheoneGodfather
      @TheoneGodfather Месяц назад +2

      @@MichaelSPrice I can wrap my mind around that, but, 12 billion years ago those galaxies that are 20+ billion light years apart would have been much closer to each other. I’m just not smart enough to phrase it correctly but I do understand your explanation somewhat. Thanks.

      @@TheoneGodfather I see what you are getting at and how it can be confusing.
      But the light we are seeing now is telling us how far apart they were 12 billion years ago. They weren't closer then they were exactly where we are seeing them. At this point in time they are now much farther apart. But 12 billion years ago they were something like 27 billion light years apart.

      When you look at a beautiful building, have you ever wondered who the builder was? If someone told you that no one had built the building, but that it had simply come into existence by itself, would you believe it? Of course not! As a Bible writer said: “Every house is constructed by someone.” Everyone knows that. Well, then, can we not accept the logical conclusion of the Bible writer: “He that constructed all things is God”?-Hebrews 3:4.
