- Horizon Jumpseat Pilot high on mushrooms tries to shut down engines in flight. Alaska Airlines #AS2059 diverted to Portland after pilot sitting in the jump seat tried to shut down both of the engines. Alaska Airlines flight had to divert to Portland after the pilot sitting in the jumpseat inside the cockpit tried to reach both Engine Fire handles.
To the humorless clods who still don't understand this is a funny channel, his name is Brian with a Y, and Briany is an anagram of Brainy. That makes him smarter than you. Checkmate, humorless clods.
Your the official spirit animal of this video comment section
“Jump seater” was Jacobs Trevor. Fantastic. He too has something for fire extinguishers! 😂
Whoever your artist is, he/she is really talented..
When one engine fails the flight takes longer, when both engines fail you'll be up there all day
I love that joke
OMG! That's a joke?! @@kingston5469
I prefer completely irresponsible speculation rather than Dan's real data sources.
Not to fear it's fire safety month... all passengers had fire extinguisher's taped to their legs. They also all had parachutes for unknown reasons.
LOL 😂
Ok, I didn't make it past the Jacob Trevors reference without falling off my chair laughing!
Pretty sure Trevor is the son of mushroom head. Flys like him too..
LOL 😂 #FreeJacobTrevor
This is the kind of in depth reporting I was looking for!!!
Well. That settles that. The NTSB guys should be ashamed to be cashing their paychecks.
I guess you got Dan "Jane Brady" Gryder all worked up.....
Mothers against Shroomed Jump Seaters has left the chat......
He's a sad man.
Dan’s, data source was Kristy. Who is a rated pilot for this aircraft. Not so sure if we can trust any of their information. Best bet is to stick with your own comment section. Yep, that’s what I would go with.
This was highlariously accurate.
Awesome response and well done!! and NOW I can say I am right because I saw it on the Internet. Heading back to the Facebook aviation groups to tell them how it is .... 🤣
Jacob Trevors??? 😂😂😂
I cannot be the first to pick up on this!! 🤣🤣🤣 Hahaha
BrYan, this video is GOLD! 😂😂😂
Wait... Dan uses real sources? Who knew? I seriously thought YOU were the source.
Poor Trevor....you make one series of extremely bad choices and you are mocked for the rest of your life.😂
Loved the REDDIT acronym. LOL
As someone who loves everything about flying except actually flying, this is exactly the kind of thing I disaster fantasize about while being strapped uncomfortably in a plane for hours on end.
I can't ride rollercoaster's without freaking out or getting sick but what to try for Light Sport so I can buy my own Cub, how am I going to do this? Clearly I'm a bit dense.
@rowdybroomstick6394 I ride roller coasters, but they scare the shit out of me.
I was thinking about buying a small plane as well because I live in Alaska and have a great place to hunt. I just can't get there without a plane or jet boat.
I think I'll go with the boat. That will be less costly.
@@ak2nda695 you're living the dream, that's for sure, I'd love to flying my own Cub into remote places to hunt for the day! Can you imagine the game rich environments you'd be able to access and have near instant success! One day I'll put my one ton on the Columbia and ferry up to Seward with a cab over full of all my hunting and fishing stuff and just stay awhile👍
@@rowdybroomstick6394 I hate roller coaster. I love flying. First time in a small plane sucked, but got used to it after about 10 hours. Just do it.
I'm confused but I'm also now subscribed 😂. Thanks for the update.
Don't know about the Embraer but Boeing 757/767 fire switches are locked (no, really) and released if a fire is detected, or an override button is pushed (a bit awkward). Simply pulling those switches (they're handles, but Boeing calls them switches) can be reversed by pushing them back in and the engines can indeed be restarted. If the engine fire extinguisher was discharged, then I'm not sure the engines can be restarted so easily. Thank goodness the guy was stopped and we can all laugh about it.
This guy sitting to my right tried to cut my Engine, I Squawked 7500 and that shut him right up.
Is it possible that exsaminers hand was guided by some sudden, and I mean sudden! inner cockpit suction?
Made. My. Day. 😂😂. And for the rest of the night, it’s read the comments section time 🍿😂
If you ask 10 pilots the same question you'll get at least a dozen different opinions.
#Truth How are you my man? We need to find a way to fly together again.
AI slightly overachieved with the thumbnail expression 😂
Yeah, AI is insane. I love it
I'm pretty sure all pilots and non-pilots are posting accurate information with regard to this incident...
@@DaveTube775 🤣
@@DaveTube775 you are correct sir
Timely, BrYan!
Dan’s channel is nice, but you have the real information. While he is on the second chapter, you have already finished.
trevor who-cobs? ???
too soon
Well...pilots love to push buttons and to pull handles. He just couldn't resist. It is fun.
You should do a part 2 about the depression mushroom and lack of sleep factors.
Pretty sure you have the wrong name slick...
No I'm right I promise
As an expert court witness in criminal cases caused by antidepressants that is EXACTLY why I refuse to fly & have since they allowed pilots to take antidepressants about 2008.
The "medicated" co-pilot on that 2015 Germanwings flight that went down in the Alps flying 150 to their deaths locked the pilot out of the cockpit & took over the plane. He was on Celexa one of the strongest SSRIs. With "homicidal ideation (compulsion)" & "suicidal ideation" listed as side effects who cares how strong it is?! They may as well be on PCP, but then PCP is the parent drug to ketamine (Spravato) that so many are now using! With what I see every day all day long even leaving the house is concerning now! We have a whole new world! Drug pushing docs do not just stand on street corners as drug pushers did in the old days!.
Christy Wong on Dans channel whom happens to fly that very aircraft gave great insight. I’ll buy what she said😂😂😂
I have always wondered what REDDIT meant. Thank you Bryan.
It is THE source of truth for all things
Can confirm I was there: I'm the fire handle
Omg dude this video is Amazing!! I can’t stop laughing!!
Off subject, Have you heard anything from Kevin and Jamie? If you hear from them let them know they are missed!
Unfortunately, I haven't. We were texting back and forth for a while but the last time I reached out to them they didn't respond I think they've gone completely dark😢
That is sad! I hope they are still flying some!
@@JustPlaneSilly
Wow Bryan, you are a badass! Someone attempted to murder you and you were as cool as the center seed in a cucumber.
Great video. We need to not be so caught up in facts, data and statistics.
I watched the video you linked and it is a joke! I hate to say you got me again.
Ohhh I pitty the fool who comes here looking for "real" advice lol! Love this channel :)
Well he showed up and I pinned his comment to the top so. It was bound to happen.
@@JustPlaneSilly Wow. I've seen psychics on TV and now have become one. How cool is that! I wonder if the same applies to flying...
I hope this video triggers people. Lol. It will be so funny

LOL. It’s not just this one. None of Doyons content is funny.
Not sure what to make of this comment. but thank you Bryan Raper for stopping by.
Bryan! 😂😂😂
Stay out of the cockpit if you're not supposed to be there.
Seriously, you two in the front seats, get out, I'm a pro flight simmer, I got more hours so I have seniority.
Someone always ruins it for the rest. You need to carry duct tape to restrain the examiner.

Is he still a thing?
