- Got the sub-1! I am pleased and satisfied enough with this run to move on to other things. There's about 18 minutes to save on this. Thank you for the journey!

I finally understand what Dode does. To hide the fact that he is indeed an android, programmed by some underground organization for the sole purporse of playing mario, he doesn't crush the world records. What he does is sandbag and slowly shave off time to make it look like it's the result of hard work and constant trials rather than electrogenetics. This is why he doesn't reset at +2:00 or +3:00 in the beginning, because he knows he can complete the game flawless and exactly how much time he can make up later and does it so he can barely beat the record a few minutes at a time. You saw the sub 50:00, I saw the sub 50:00. So did Dode. But he must not get caught, as machines aren't allowed to compete with humans, so he had to die at bowser. Remember, the goal is sub 1 hour. He is way ahead of it. Should he completely shatter the record forever? Of course not, it will raise suspicion. So he dies. Over and over again to what appear to be "misses" under pressure. But I'm on to you Dode. I don't have anything but situational proof yet but one day I will reveal the truth of your mechanical body. Of course, it won't surprise anyone, but I don't care.
P.S. if you want more proof that Dode is a robot go look at the Carolina reaper video. He is obviously unfazed by it, since robots can't really taste spice. Again, he pretends to be kinda bothered by it while forcibly excreting fluids from his eyes.

Nice run. I've seen a few plays of this, and it really seems like the first two levels are the hardest. Some of the levels in the middle actually look somewhat tame. But, making it look easy means you have skills. I can't even do the shell-wall-jump thing, so level 1 is for sure a noob screen.

Dode has some major issue with Dram 2 so you can scratch that from the list.
1000 sub points to run Dram 2, then after that I don't know.

Minor question - would it be faster, even by milleseconds, to spin-jump the Banzai Bill near the first level's checkpoint rather than bounce off of it? Or does it make a difference, since I know a spin-jump makes you hang a little?
Kenpokid4 Spinjumps don't get you as high, so it's purely for safety purposes. You are correct that spinjumping would be faster but it's nice not resetting to silly level 1 deaths

the 6 extra exits take about 9 minutes, so definitely not sub-30.

I seen too many of these.i call TAS at 35:48 you can clearly him double jump.the hit boxes are ridiculous.i seen Ryukahr and Poo both run this and some of the thing that should kill him didn’t. I CALL SHENANIGANS! Sorry! Still amazing run👍🏽

Would it not be possible to have some sort of in-game split timer built into a hack like this?
I think that'd be a really cool way to easily get very accurate times and the player wouldn't even have to do anything extraneous. Just include a global timer which starts as soon as you begin and continues until the very end as well as individual timers for each stage.
