I think you are spot on with those choices for sub 1000. Clear straight talking descriptions too. Keep it up. Have bought the Tissot by the way, such a great value watch, love it.
Three of your top five have one version or other of the Powermatic 80 movement. This movement is a modified ETA 2824 using synthetic escapement wheel and pallet fork. It is initially regulated by laser at the point of manufacture and beats at 21,600 instead of the normal 28,800 in order to gain the additional power reserve. I have read that if there are problems with your Powermatic 80 movement, it will most likely need to be replaced rather than serviced. And the wise replacement is the ETA 2824 rather than a return to a movement with synthetic parts to wear out again. Synthetic may be the way of the future, but, for me, a watch should be an heirloom from day one. I want NO plastic inside mine.
Great Vid. I just bought the Certina - exact same green second hand model that you have here and has the same rubber strap. Man - I love this watch. It just reeks of quality and is so accurate straight out of the box. I have it losing less than a second a day. I think Certina may be one of the best kept secrets in the watch market. I'm on holidays at the moment in K/L, so bought it at one of the big shopping centres. I cost me $800 AUD, which I thought was pretty good and great value for money.
Nice selection.and great video, Thank you. It difficult to pick 5 with so much competition in this price range. You can throw in the Steinhart Ocean. The Hamilton Frogman. Victorinox Swiss army I.N.O.X. Alpina and 50 others
1:39 Tissot almost looks like Certina DS Action Diver Powermatic 80 and i think both have the same automatic mechanism. they both belong to the same company.
@@WatchAddictionReviews they're all nice. I have the blue dial in ss. If you have the money, the Ocean Star 600 is a monster: COSC movement, push-lock bezel, drain hole to prevent water collecting behind the bezel and Helium relief valve. Just a hardcore diver that has more features than any Tudor BB, Omega, or Breitling. Mido builds some wonderful watches but doesn't get mentioned a lot.
The "modded" ETA has synthetic parts and is slowed to 21,600 to get the 80 hours. I'd take an Oris with a Selitta SW200 or SW220 any day of the week. And the styling of the Oris Aquis destroys Tissot or Hamilton. I recently picked up a nearly perfect, pre-owned Oris Hammerhead for a grand. I only home my grand kids(when I have some) are into watches so I can pass it down in my will. Otherwise, my widow will probably sell it. ;)
have the Cert DS, love it to bits, eyeing that Tissot s/star for next purchase. longines is just overpriced, i see it doesnt even have a deployant clasp, only friction type.
not my taste, known for problems, nah you just say Steinharts are "junk" lol, way to be so technical trying to run a watch review channel, nope, no sub, and hopefully I won't come across anymore of your videos.
Thanks for the video! Does Jomashop has a store in NYC or they only sell online? I will be in NYC in april for vacations (first time in the city) and I would aprecciate very much if you indicated a reliable store where I could buy these kind of watches. Thanks.
they are an online retailer only, if you are looking for brands like Hamilton Tissot and such , Tourneau stocks those now I believe but you will pay full retail and tax- rather just buy the same piece online for 30% off or more
@@WatchAddictionReviews Ok! I will see what I can do. I would like very much to try the watch and feel how it looks on my wrist before buying it. Perhaps I do that on a store and buy it online at Jomashop :) If their stock is in Brooklin I imagine they can deliver the watch at the hotel in Manhattan in 24 hours time. Thanks a lot!
@@WatchAddictionReviews I had a look on Tourneau website and I didn't see any Hamilton or Tissot. It looks like they only sell very expensive brands. Could you indicate a store where I can find these brands? And another place where I can find more popular brands like Victorinox, Wenger, Citizen, Seiko, Orient? Thanks a lot.
oh bah, the Macys ( largest macys in the world ) - stocks Hamilton and tissot and breitling surprisingly AD. also Victorinox and many others - they let you try on whatever you want 👍🏻
This is strange, why Seiko is out of the list here. I was considering a Seastar 4 years ago, but decided to try kinetic Seiko diver and ordered JDM version of BFK from Japan for $324 with an EMS delivery included. Believe me, this one is able to beat all watches listed in this video, either by build quality or design. BUT, this one is a real "egoist" and needs to be on wrist regularly to keep charged which is really not an option for collection to be forgotten in the box for months;-)
Tissot Seastar 1000 Automatic Blue Dial Since 2014 going strong Dont like the new model Seastar and please make a higher quality more attention to detail clasp and buckle the only downside
Bought the Tissot Seastar in that exact colorway and style. Wasnt crazy about it when it arrived. Returned it and bought the Hamilton shown here. Really happy with my choice. The circle hour details on the Tissot seem over played and like a Rolex knockoff. Much prefer the Hamilton.
I’m not going to be actually diving it was a decision based purely on the style and size. That Hamilton with the Batman bezel is just gorgeous to my eyes
Watch Addiction Watch Reviews but to be honest i want a diver watch but have good brand and history about the watch For example i like omega and Tudor but its too expensive because i‘m only student :) well i know what i said now is not related anymore to your watch review :) but since omega and Tudor too expensive probably i will buy tag heuer aquaracer calibre 5 300m automatic but i should save my money Lol because honestly its also still expensive for me. Thanks best regards.
what an amazing video if theres one watch i can reccommend it is the new Oceanica Mako diver solid watch for under 300
thanks!
I think you are spot on with those choices for sub 1000. Clear straight talking descriptions too. Keep it up. Have bought the Tissot by the way, such a great value watch, love it.
Thanks, its not too offen I receive comments like yours - appreciate it lad and enjoy the Tissot 🤘🤘
Owner of the Khaki Scuba here. Love it!!! Swam many times with it, hot tubs etc. Dont be scared by the 100M WR. The 40mm size it perfect too
Yeah 100M is the baseline for swimming , its fine - took my khaki field 100M swimming many times

good poiint thanks for sharingg
Isn't it silicone, not plastic??
Félix Adán Pasos WOW,Dude. Thanks for the eye opener. You make my comment-reading,at least this time, productive.
I just bought that Tissot Seastar 1000, last week. Beautiful watch!!
awesome its a very cool watch! enjoy!
Bought mine today! £545 ($712) Probably cheaper in US or Jomashop
If you buy on the bracelet, can you buy the rubber strap separately?
Please tell me the awful rancid smell of the rubber strap goes away??? Im thinking of returning its so terrible.
Just got mine. Very impressed. Good choice.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, it really helped me a lot. I look forward to more of your vids, my new favorite watch channel!
Great review. Absolutely love the Certina.
thanks!
I do love my original Tissot automatic diver superb watch

for sure, definitely a solid watch that will last some years 👍🏻👌
I got Certina DS Action and DC-1 Heritage Himalaya. Even tho they are the cheapest watches I have, but easily the best.
I love my Action Diver in blue. Certina watches are fantastic. Harder to find here in Canada but worth the money for sure.
👌👌
I just took delivery of the blue version with stainless bracelet Certina, The blue plays nicely with the sunlight. Thanks for the review!!
you did well! its a great watch
True, this is the best top 5, in my opinion.
yup
You forgot to mention that Certina has quick extension option on a clasp which is quite useful.
ahhh yees
Swatch Group all the way!

Thanks man. Yeah there are sooo many i could probably do a top 20 haha
Except for the Hamilton, all the others are away to big. Longines is acceptable though.
The Hamilton is 100 meters water resistant
yes indeed what did i say?
@@WatchAddictionReviews 300
@@WatchAddictionReviews yeah, its 100m. you said "300" in the video.
1:39 Tissot almost looks like Certina DS Action Diver Powermatic 80 and i think both have the same automatic mechanism. they both belong to the same company.
Yeah I believe they are pretty much the same
I'm looking at a Sharkman 1 offchore chrono 500m, for $1000, is that a good deal, it's pre owned, mint condition in a box
ooo from edox, yeah not a bad deal
Nice list mate! Cant get any better than this for the moola!
Mido Ocean Star is another consideration. It has a diver extension on the bracelet, and the clasp is better than any of these.
indeed love the rose gold
OS 🤗

thanks mate
Tissot seastar 1000, magnificent...
yup
When it comes to true divers, I think it would be appropriate to include the Doxa Sub 200, for 990.00!
i think Doxa is a ripoff, Id never buy one
Oris would be next bump
up but a selitta sw200 stock vs a modded ETA? Oris does not have much going for them in mechanics for the dive line

Can you do a top 5 dive watches under 12mm thick?
I will try ! thanks for the suggestion
Now this is it! All correct, love your list
have the Cert DS, love it to bits, eyeing that Tissot s/star for next purchase. longines is just overpriced, i see it doesnt even have a deployant clasp, only friction type.
nice , the tissot star 2018 is a awesome piece as well , Thanks for viewing 👌
How about Steinhart?
junk 👍🏻
Watch Addiction Watch Reviews please explain.
Watch Addiction Watch Reviews how so
not my taste, known for problems, nah you just say Steinharts are "junk" lol, way to be so technical trying to run a watch review channel, nope, no sub, and hopefully I won't come across anymore of your videos.
Yep, nice list. I would put the Mido Ocean Star in place of the Edox so you can actually switch out straps, but other than that, perfect list.
Thanks Chris , Yesh i like the Mido OS but just wanted to throw something different in there
Mido ocean star captain or Alpina Alpiner 4 diver (under easily 1000 on ebay) are better options imho.
good choices sir
Mido Ocean Star is also nice
yeah its alright

just subbed awesome content
Great list totally off the beaten "diver" path.
Dean Speerbrecher True , love the new seastar 1000 it is super nice
Id go for the Certina or Tissot.
Smart choice
brill watches like them all cheers
thanks , cheers 👍🏻
Great list.
Thanks bud!
I got glycine combat aquarius , what i Can say Ian loving it :)
good choice mate GREAT piece
Good selection
thanks mate
great video something new for a change
If I'm going under usd1000 I'm sure they won't hold value as seamasters or submariners ... so let's close on to the seiko turtle, padi or prospex
seikos junk
ive owned all of them they all are cheaply made and have qc issues
Nice watch and channel watch
Have a great day!
retro thief you too ;-)
MUITO BOM ESSES RELÓGIOS, BRASIL OK.
gustoso
Edox Is the most good watch with Longines .
i think Oris and Longines top the list
Let's dive in and buy one!
How much the Longines?
around a grand i think
Succession is hilarious .
yep
No Seiko?
this video is for swiss made divers under $1000
I’m here

Tissot is better
I’m not going to be actually diving it was a decision based purely on the style and size. That Hamilton with the Batman bezel is just gorgeous to my eyes
what do u think about davosa and revue thommen.
wouldnt buy one with my own money 👍🏻
cant speak on RT as I have never owned one
Watch Addiction Watch Reviews well thanks for your feedback. I still consider which diver watch i want to buy. What do u think about glycine :)
solid choice

Seiko turtle srpc91
Oceanica Manta Ray beats all those seikos 😅
The Hamilton is 100-metres.
ah yes
WHERE IS VOSTOKI
Nowhere
The Benson family Not Swiss made.
Oris Aquis or this hmm
Priestlytick775 Aquis
C.Ward has great divers
Have never owned one, perhaps they can send one in for review 👍🏻
Anything under 200M is not a dive watch to me.
id agree as well, can be a "Pool watch" at 100M but not for diving
Stowa Diver?
Ah Yes, Cant speak on it as i have never handled it though
Stowa is German, not Swiss
💙💙💙💙😇❤️❤️❤️
Oky, Edox watch complete calendar..,,Hamilton watch "no" calendar.?? Tissot, Certina single CALENDAR..? Swiss made this watches video.
nice
JOMASHOP?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DISASTER!
been using them for years, never had an issue
slow down men
Thanks for watching mate 👌
Ginault? just kidding, we dont play that ish on Watch Addict channel i know better 🤮
