@@jojoBeanz992 Think of it as a nightmare, Kenny showing off monstrous strength and relentlessly coming for Gremmy must have felt like as bad dream. A dream where some monster or demon is coming at you and all you can do is watch, you can't scream, you can't run, your mind just locks up trying to process whats about to happen to you. Frozen in your own minds terror.

I think the idea of gremmy is perfect. A near all powerful being who can do and create anything he wants w but has no real imagination or vision.
Its the opposite. His imagination coming into realty requires power, thats why he need 2 of him for the meteor, and why he needed 5 to created a pocket dimension of space. He also has to believe what he imagines will have the effect it does so if something fails once he wont believe it can work if he tries again. Kenpachi was so strong that he didn't have the power to materialize anything that could actually end him because he himself has a power limitation. Its not really that he is lacking in imagination.

Tbh, I think Gremmy is a good written character in his own way. Power of imagination is actually a double edged sword. After all we as humans sometimes can't help but imagine bad things like losing and failing.

That's exactly what I was thinking. In a weird way, Gremmy is one of the realest and most relatable characters in the show. It litterally shows the dichotomy of how your mind can be your greatest strength and greatness weakness at the same time.

Yeah they explain it more in the novel and kubo q&a Gremmy being locked away sorta stunted his imagination power growth and juha didn't give him a volkstanding due to the fears of gremmy powers being boosted that much

Yes it is shown that gremmy clearly has a limit, but he is suppose to be a "monster" just like Gérard. And he was using soul king ability at its fullest. Gremmy has the brain of the soul king, yet he has limits? That's proof that people wank the gremmy and the soul king. The more clones gremmy makes, the stronger his imagination. Gremmy was to dumb to realise he could have cloned himself more to reach kenpachi power. Or it could be just bad/ rushed writing. Kubo was trying to peak with this arc but it is what it is.

My headcanon is that, once Gremmy self destructed himself, his Reiatsu also collapsed, so he couldn't use the Visionary anymore to heal himself at the end.

Kubo doesn't decided how much time the anime has, the studio makes that decision with the budget and timeslot they got.

You know what…after reviewing this fight and thinking about it more…Gremmy’s defeat isn’t the worst thing; it actually works. Like his imagination is larger than what his body/vessel can contain. Remember, he had to duplicate himself to do the meteor. And make like 7 of him to create the pocket space dimension. So when he tried to achieve a power even greater than that to go beyond kenpachi’s strength, he tried to do it only in one body. The preverbal jar broke after being overfilled. Like he isn’t YHWCH, he isn’t a Demi-god with limitless potential.
Kenpachi didn’t even take off the eyepatch… that’s my thing with bleach they present strong villains who the captains are said to not be able to beat… just for the captains to cook them

Gremmy's downfall should be relatable to most people, if not all. Doubt and the thought of losing is natural. Like starting that fitness journey and giving up due to it feeling hopeless.
So what you telling me is Kenpachis so OP his sealed zanpakuto pawned a shikai and it gained not one but two more shikais while having a sealed zanpakuto........

The way I'm seeing it is that he imagined Kenpachi was a monster. Then tried to make himself stronger than a monster. Therefore imagining himself as a strong monster and not as Gremmy, a Quincy with imagination powers. Therefore Gremmy ceased to exist. Which wasn't the case because somewhere in his mind he was simply a consciousness portrayed as a brain and still Gremmy who came back as a ghost. But at that point he was far too removed from reality and lost in fallacy so he imagined himself into oblivion.
This is how I just made sense of it so now I will be moving on from this because I'll think myself inyo oblivion as well

I think the moral of the story here is that a brain from a twisted quincy lab was not able to withstand the idea of a Kenpachi, and therefore error 404ed.

Gremmy's power's limitations I think were "explained" with the ending of the fight, being that:
1- he can't just imagine certain people dead. Whether it's because Kenny is so strong, or that the rumors he heard made it impossible to kill him, ala -> "what if I can't kill him because he's a monster?!" - since he clearly has heard all these things about what a monster he is as a special war threat. He also says "just as I imagined" and "famous Kenpachi" before they started fighting.
2- he can't imagine things that are unimaginable TO HIM. Since he couldn't grasp Kenny's strength, he couldn't truly be as strong as him, thus he essentially zero summed himself by running his power "infinitely" out
3- clearly a double edged sword power, since it's what caused him to lose, and die. (I personally think that not only did he hear rumors about Kenny, I believe Gremmy unconsciously used his powers and imagined Kenny as an unkillable, extremely powerful monster, explaining how he survived outer space or the ground crushing.)
Gremmy wanting to become as strong as him imagined the monster he saw from the very beginning, and it may have just gotten worse and worse since he just ignored gremmy's attacks.

Gremmy should have been stronger I agree. His fight with Kenny is only one episode long and his ability is busted. Like realistically someone with his ability for any extended period of time would become a monster who is insanely confident.

It was well written you are sitting at home in bed watching from a screen saying he should've done this and that while he is standing next to zaraki who is cutting magma and meteors and cutting space itself and surviving close up bombs add to that him being inclosed and hidden and had no contact with anything that could feed his imagination nor his combat experience his worst face off was zaraki cause he installed fear into his imagination and made him doubt himself from the first moment he cut him and also made him enjoy battle for the first time and he tried to tak him off on his terms

My interpretation was, that after seeing Kenpachi just counter everything he throws at him, he reaches a point where he just *doesn’t think anything will kill Kenpachi* , which his powers then make the reality

i can't get over how terribly gremmy was written. he died because his body falls apart... yet that is not his real body... his brain is the only main body... the brain is still intact... yet he died? why can't he just imagine a new body??
