I’m so grateful that Kim Soo Hyun chose to challenge the complex character of Moon Gangtae. He isn’t a character you can use flashy techniques to convey. No pretty clothes or badass remarks, no hand gestures and stuttering voice, he’s just an ordinary person hiding behind a mask. He doesn’t show I much at all, except when the mask falters and you get a fleeting glimpse. His pain, feeling trapped by your own life, he becomes the one you can relate to most. Seeing him grow, learn to love himself, and become the person he was meant to be gives us all hope. This isn’t a character that is endearing in the traditional sense but you love him for what he makes you feel and learn. Kudos to KSH for taking a risk on Gangtae. this is why people said kdrama's are on another level for their storyline just like this drama. idk how to explain it bc im not a pro but i had so much fun figuring out the theories about the butterfly and moon young's mom. i also love how every character has a big impression on the drama even tho they appear for like a few minutes and the character improvements is very good too, i wouldn't mind to watch this drama again❤️👏🏻

But when he saw that she was ruthless (killed and teared some butterflies) he got scared and ran away, that was also a time that his mother was murdered so he escaped with his brother to somewhere else. Then they meet again, she is interested in him, he tries to avoid her, there are funny moments, she tries to set him free and he takes care of her. There comes a rival, hardships, truths, cruel reality, the past and after they successfully developed a kind of romantic relationship he runs off again. Because she was heartbroken because he didn't keep his promise to stay with her. So here we are. She was heartbroken and he is now free so he chases her but because he hurt her before this was her little revenge on him.

Towards the end of this drama, sometimes i think sangtae, gangtae and mooyoung resemble each other so much. Maybe bcs they stay together and they always close at heart. The way they used to joke around, tease each other and their interaction are so fun to watch. I'm currently having a hard time to move on from this. The casts did a super amazing job in portraying their characters.

This scene needs more appreciation tbh. It perfectly mirrors the scene in ep 4 in not only how the roles and the feelings are reversed, but also the framework of the camera. In that scene Ko Mun Yeong who at that time was irrefutably attracted but not really completely in love, just shouts it out of spite, to get her way no matter what to make him stop, but his confession here is 200% heartfelt and real.
I so fucking appreciate the hand held face shot of Ko Moon Young after she turned... I don't know why but it is one of the best hand held cam shot love it... Looks so natural 😍😍😀

it's so funny how some of the moments in the later episodes directly parallel the earlier ones. i absolutely adore when shows do that, i think it's very charming. here it shows so well how they've both influenced each other and changed because of the time they spent together. they're so cute lol one of my favourite kdramas for sure
