The horn/trumpet sounds "rusted" and it screeches in your ear. Usually, instruments like these are used to represent glory of nations/people, so this really fits the theme the game seems to be trying for.

Definately! Instead of the glory going to the nation, its to the fighter. It's for the Nopat identity, borderless soldier.

I'm so mixed. On one hand, it sounds awesome. It describes the world perfectly with it being broken and a bit sad. On the other hand, I would have liked a bit more cinematic and epic feeling theme like bf4 and bf3 with a sprinkle of futuristic.

I thought it is pretty legit. But everyone has their own oppinion
I like it, but I can see your point.
I didn’t like it either when I first heard it. Making this the main theme is definitely a statement.
Im with you. Good for those that like it, but to me it sounds like someone fucked up in production (as in they made a mistake or some instrument has a failure). The unofficial one someone posted fits more my taste.
People always gotta bring up BF4 no matter what
I really get a “worlds gone to hell” feeling from this. Especially with those really strange almost horror like vibes to the instruments, very neat indeed
@Viswha Helpy the theme of this game is very different from games from the past
The world is almost gone, only two superpowers remain: US and Russia, fighting for extremely scarce resources
@Viswha Helpy Yeah right, it's about the hope and glory of battles, but this is the future now, and desperation is the name of the game
The person who made the music to joker and Chernobyl (HBO series) made the music to this game.
@Viswha Helpy This games is different. It's about a collapsing, broken world where everyone is fighting for survival and only the strong survive
@Viswha Helpy there's definitely no hope in this battlefield game, though. it's a pretty futile war to be fighting to begin with where no matter who wins, the planet is still dying and humanity is still doomed

@Bastian 111 exactly, sounds terrible.
I love how all the instruments have a broken feel to them. Representing the broken world and nations in the game. Its a very fitting main theme. for its game. Though it goes for a more eerie tone and less of a grand cinematic tone
Its like DICE asked for something similar to chernobyl or Joker but said to make it with electronic, terrible idea. Should've kept with the instruments and it would probably sound good

Battlefield 2042 gameplay: 👽
The music is so good giving off the “world is broken” vibe but the game itself doesn’t do that at all
What are you talking about, the game is FUNDAMENTALLY broken. Awful gameplay balance. Long que times. Awful maps, and specialist system no one asked for and is WIDELY reviled and characters that clash with theme of a grim dark battlefield.
2042 is a broken mess and this song. Perfectly captured that.
@@mmorpgal4229 ha funny. But like you can’t have a game with nice as broken sounding music to end the round and then GO STRAIGHT to cringe ass specialist quotes it just kills the vibe
POV:it's breakout , last sector , last flag and this starts playing.
It's a good thing they are mixing things up with the theme, we have so many awesome versions. This one suits the broken world setting of the game for sure.
At least they are not creatively bankrupt
@@mrbaileys4371 definitely
@@giahuynguyenkim6389 guarantee they just plucked this out of their preexisting "pile of ideas" box back from when the good devs were there lol
@@giahuynguyenkim6389 oh yeah definitely, re-using another character beanie and selling it as a "new" cosmetics is definitely not a sign of creativity bankruptcy
also fits the broken game
The DICE music department is so much better then the actual game developers
yea thats true
@@bazejkwiecien6258 100% it is
The end of battlefield theme
It just keeps tumbling down, tumbling down, tumbling down...
as a wise man simply put it. "It sounds like a whale dying."
Why does this sound better and better the more I listen to it
because your standards drop every time
Because Hildur is a talented composer, I love her Joker soundtrack
It doesn't
did my microwave just go off? 1:40
1:20 it builds up the classic theme, but holy Christ as it goes on..the audio is just soo messy it hurts my ears
Remember the memes with the Battlefield 3 Music where it was supposedly just DICE farting into a Mic then giving it a bass boost and called it a day?
Well, they took it to the next level by literally shitting their pants and bass boosting it.
i mean its supposed to soudn broken cause ya know the world is ending feel to it thats why...
*This noise is cool*
Terrifyingly amusing indeed
"Look how the massacred my boy."
this sounds so fucking mind blowingly amazing wtf
No way you like it.
One of us, one of us!
@@giahuynguyenkim6389 track really go sick when you understands what this track heavily oriented on subbass.
This theme is perfect, it nails the theme of the world is running low on resources and everything is falling apart, yet conflict will rage on through the collapse of humanity!
RUclips disabled dislikes just for battlefield.
i feel like people aren't giving this theme its recognition. yes, maybe my taste is different, but i feel like shitting on the music just because the game is bad is a bit unfair. it sounds broken, hellish and chaotic because that's the vibe the game was meant to give off (but obviously DICE fucked up hard by ditching that vision and choosing to clone fortnite and overwatch instead)
