12:21 - Battlefield Bad Company (Chamber Version) This will always be my ALL TIME favourite rendition of the Battlefield Main Theme. The violins and cellos just hit me something different.
I remember from my younger self when I was nine (I'm 15 now), my father was a crazy battlefield addict. I would always sneak out of bed at night and go down to my basement and watch him play battlefield 4, and occasionally revisit good old 2142. I fell in love with it so much that I asked him what game it was, and if I could try and play it on his computer. Being the man that he is, he allowed me to play without my mother knowing for a solid hour. I soaked it all in. The maps; Suez canal and Verdun were the ones I played that night. I can remember I was frightened to my core. From the moment I deployed onto the field with just the basic assault rifle, to the time I heard the gigantic Mech coming around the corner and blasting my corpse into the air. Today, I'm still rocking with BF4, and even play offline 2142 for the memories. Remember, you don't know what you have until it's gone. For me, that was the exciting thrill of playing battlefield for the first time. A memory I will hold and cherish in my heart as long as I'm alive.

@@lunaolson2529 BC2 was technically my first BF game, but I wasn't super into it as I was still young. BF4 was my second one but I had the same issue with that one, also didn't help I was complete garbage at both games so never really had fun with them. Now when I got BF1 I actually could understand what I needed to do, and boy let me tell you, BF1 is by far one of my favorite games of all time now.
Bf3 has a special place in my heart, I think it was the first shooter I ever got but the thing is I didn’t have an Xbox 360 account and I didn’t realize it at the time so evertime I turn it on I had to restart the game, recently 2 months ago I saw the game was on sale in the store for 3 dollars and figured I’d play it. Then I finnaly remember the whole running from the cops and hoping on the train part. I had to play the game all in one sitting and finished it in about four hours on a school night with my dad. My god was it nostalgic. Not only was I getting farther than 9 year old me had but it was bringing back up old memories. And then bf1 I remember how I loved it so much, one fond memory was waking up early to play on a cold morning before my bus came, I played on the map that you fight in the hallways, it’s like a big fort. Man I love the battlefield series.
the Bad Company 1 chamber music variant will forever be the best rendition of this piece. the subtle variation in the melody, placing the accent one or two notes later than in the original score gives it such a homey and playful sound. might be just because BC1 will forever by my favorite game in the series, but the score is just pure gold.
I still remember the chills from bf2142 trailer when i first installed it. The theme hyped me to the moon. For a few month we played it with buddies after school like a real squad, with callouts, helping others, full shabang. I dont know how we skipped BC and BC2 (started college at that time), but since BF3 we are back in action and rockin. Cant wait for 2042!

@Ace Nah bf 3 still better. Bf 3 had much more to offer and had the best multiplayer with the best maps. It had no problems at the release and even campaign was 2 times better. Solomon theme is just a masterpiece to this.
I love all these themes but for whatever reason I still prefer battlefield 3's theme. I don't know, maybe it's because it was the first ever battlefield that I played and honestly the first AAA FPS I ever touched and I loved it even if to this day I am still trash at it in multiplayer, but the campaign, the intensity of the game, the cutscenes, to me it was all like, woah. It was the first game where I actually felt I was fighting for something that really mattered and that it was a full scale war in multiplayer. The first ever modern PC game I played and I will never forget it.
For me, Battlefield V has the best theme with its original one. It’s mixed it up in a good way that keeps the classical feeling while incorporating pieces of music from Battlefield 1, as well as gives it that feeling where you just wanna charge in.
agreed, the bf5 theme has the perfect mix of everything and makes you want to blinding bayonette charge into a smoke cloud that probably has a maxed tiger in it

When I heard Bf2042 soundtrack for the first time I thought about boats in that part for some reason :D well in Bf1942 intro at that part there is US carrier and few other ships sailing away. Also at part 38:19 forward it gets some of those Battlefield 2 menu vibes for some reason :D and you can hear soldier screaming at 38:26 Overall as I said about Battlefield V’s soundtrack, I do think Hildur made especially good job combining all kind of elements from each Battelfield soundtrack. Something about these disturbed almost industrialized sounds just fit the Battlefield with the basic simple beat we know even by writing du-du du-du-du-du-dum. Getting so much 1942, Bad Company 2, Bf3 vibes from 2042’s soundtrack and I love it! Been playing Battlefield games since Battlefield 1942 so I will have a lot of fun with the portal mode!
I made sure to listen to the entirety of the 2042 theme and to be frank, I did catch smidgeon of the classic theme but it was drowned out by the sound of rusted metal filtered through auto-tune.
Saddening that the newest one mars its legacy and that company logic will tell them there's no interest in revisiting that Era even though the fault is on the product and not the concept.
Battlefield Theme Tier List, arbitrarily scored by me: 0:00 - BF 1942 Intro: A good first entry into the BF series, though by today's standards, feels somewhat bland. I give it an honorable place in C-tier. 02:38 - Battlefield 1942: Similar to 1942, but slightly better sounding, though probably loops a bit too much. Is it enough for B-tier? Ehh... I dunno, but I'm reluctantly putting it up there. 06:47 - Battlefield 2: The battle ambiance and shouts in the background really make this theme pop, and sounds more restrained in a kinda-good kinda-bad way. I like it, but the lack of a climax or crescendo keeps it down at a high B instead of an A. 09:02 - Battlefield 2142: Those trumpets or trombone-sounding thingies make this unmistakably sci-fi. It reflects the game's setting well and is otherwise an excellent score. The subtle vocals also make it sound all the more epic. An excellent A-tier. 12:21 - Battlefield Bad Company: I think this theme is a hot take for the BF series with the total lack of a brass section, but I'm okay with that. The game, and its theme was a break from tradition for Battlefield, but isn't entirely perfect. I like it, but it's not the best. A respectable C-tier, but maybe a good B-tier, depending on the day. 13:40 - Battlefield 1943: An amazing rendition with a perfect balance between the brass, strings, and sick drums. Truly legendary version. A true A-tier. 17:52 - Battlefield Bad Company 2: Bruh it's literally just BC1 just looped a bit longer. D-tier for the lack of anything new whatsoever. 19:09 - Battlefield Play4Free: Bland with only like one instrument and some crappy drums. There's like zero point to this theme or this game. Depending on how generous I'm feeling this is either a low D or high F-tier. 20:24 - Battlefield 3: Those gritty synths and funky beats give this one real identity. That static at the end is guaranteed to give me goosebumps every time. Great game (from what I've heard never played it) with a great theme. A-tier. 22:16 - Battlefield 4: The beat dropped harder than my K/D ratio. I think the lead could be a bit louder, but that's just me. A-tier. 24:52 - Battlefield 1: Very heroic sounding, only to abruptly shift to a dark and morbid tone, perfectly fitting for the First World War. The unorthodox instruments work amazingly, though it kind of lacks that "DUNDUN DUN DUNDUN DUN" we all know and love. Great cinematic theme, but somewhat lacking in something. A respectable entry in B-tier. 28:07 - Battlefield 1 (Something Big is Coming): Beefier version of the OG BF1 theme. Overall more epic and punchier. Makes me want to do a bayonet charge and fail miserably as my target takes one step to the left. Very close to A-tier, but reluctantly B-tier. 30:17 - Battlefield V: Starts out kinda eh, but then the beat drops and you're like "Oh yeah, this is Battlefield." A good effort, but somehow I don't feel like the trumpets or drums work very well. It keeps stopping with the "DUNDUN DUN DUNDUN DUN" and doing some original scores, but we're not here for original scores; we want to hear the same thing over and over again, just different. A somewhat disappointing C-tier. 33:49 - Battlefield V (Wake Island): Now THIS is officially a banger! Never before have vocals and war drums been used in such an epic way. Spectacular theme for a game that should have been better at launch. Absolutely S-tier, no questions asked! Just be sure to pause before the next BF theme starts... 36:43 - Battlefield 2042: My ears are bleeding listening to this. Did they like autotune an angle grinder? I mean, the beat drop is kind of okay if you turn the volume down to the threshold of hearing. I get that it sounds so glitchy because of an information blackout or whatever, but I don't think that nearly justifies this personal attack on my hearing. Come on Dice, you can do better than this! Abject failure with lowest spot on F tier.
BF1 has got to be the best in the series by far It sounds like a full orchestra is playing it, just imagining it being played by one on stage seems like it would be incredible
Battlefield 1943 was my first battlefield and I loved having it as an entry point for the series. Gave me a really good idea of what combat and classes were like

as the direct sequel to to 4 its cool to hear how the 2042 theme takes the more triumphant and hard hitting BF4 theme and make it sound more desperate and almost unhinged. The world that we knew has gone and been replaced with this all out scramble for survival amidst the collapse of modern society and civilisation.

I don’t know if I’m the only one who hears it but the battlefield 2042 theme’s trumpets sounds like the type of thing you’d hear in a nationwide warning of a disaster on a tv or something honoring fallen veterans, which fits the theme pretty well.
@@Grenajan That’s fair. It fits the theme they were going for in the story, but it certainly isn’t nearly as pleasing as the orchestral strings of the past Battlefields.

I see now. I absolutely love it, the music, the setting and everything about it, the main theme is also really great.
Battlefield's 3 soundtrack is by far one of my favorites, the start of the theme makes it feel like you can just barely hear the thunder of war in the distance, makes it so appropriate for the modern setting
Battlefield 1942 theme literally gave me chills and nostalgic feeling. Even I didnt played BF games so much, and one of these games wasnt part of my childhood. Oh my.
the BF4 theme is my personal favorite... It strikes an amazing balance between the classic tune everyone loves about the BF Theme, but brings it into the modern world without overdoing it. I especially love these sublte dubstep elements.
Battlefield 6 needs to have gunplay, grittiness and audio like BF1, vehicle handling and leveling system like BF4, HUD and Campaign like BF3, and graphics like BF5’s. Note that it has to be in a present setting.
One of the best parts of the battlefield series is the main soundtrack. I was thinking I'd be happy if 2042 was a play on bf4s because believe it or not 2042 is the sequel to BF4.
BF4 was set in the advanced modern day. BF2042 is set in a broken world at war
@@swaggadash9017 Someone pointed out that, given the Lore (that doesn't really showcase in-game), that the glitchpunk, discordant nature of the track is spot-on. It is uncomfortable to listen to, but still pays homage to the classic BF theme. It presents the song without grace, and without harmony, like the world of 2042. The broken melody and electronic screwiness sells both the high-tech nature of the world 2044 as well as the failure of that technology (as the Lore expresses). It's a good example of a great idea with somewhat poor execution. I believe they could have exhibited these ideas better, but they didn't want to song to feel glorious because this was not a glorious war.
In fact this song acts somewhat as a sequel to the "story" told by BF3 and BF4. The classic war theme, present with electronic noise and interruption, containing, but burying the classic theme further and further, because the world, and war, is changing.
Unfortunately the gameplay does very little to share the emotion of the lore and the theme.
@@soylencer yeah, it just sounds like it was made by a downs orchestra if I'm being honest. And all the games are about war and whatnot so the setting of it doesn't make an excuse, I mean BF4 was war with China and the start of WW3. @@soylencer i love this analysis and agree 100%
While I was around for BF3, and BF4 I never really played them in their prime. So I still have that nostalgia for the theme I just like BF1, and BFV's theme best. BF1 has the Great War sound to it with the orchestra, and the emphasis on horns, and strings. BFV is the 1940s modernization of the same set up, with more horns, and even more powerful Strings.

Battlefield Theme Tier List, arbitrarily scored by me:
0:00 - BF 1942 Intro: A good first entry into the BF series, though by today's standards, feels somewhat bland.
Battlefield 2042 is supposed to sound glitchy. Just look at its art-style. Glitchy thumbnail

I love that the Battlefield V soundtracks are often used in RUclipsr documentaries about WW2
For over twenty years this franchise has been keeping us glued to our pcs and consoles you gotta love it.
I can't tell if I'm listening to the Battlefield 2042 theme song or my speakers are dying in agony as I'm listening to it.
Seriously it sounds like kids dragging school chairs across the gym floor.
Battlefield 3 and 4 anyone?
The first one is just so nostalgic and such a class it beats probably all for me.
Bfv theme feels like a battle the buildup, the battle, and the aftermath of what happened such cool little detail
I love how it goes from one of the best, Wake Island theme, to 2042's cacophony lmao.
The theme of Battlefield 2042 matches the game perfectly
