Craig Cole says heroin addicts will love the Dodge Dart GT. Find out why in our latest video review. ***** #dodge #dodgedart #dodgedartgt #carvideo #carreviews
Autoguide should keep this guy on all car reviews. No doubt, he's got the words to make you watch another review and funny. That's what people like to watch
I love the review. I like when you do them simply because you know how to go through all the specs & cover the entire car (inside & out) unlike other reviwers. Thanks
This is by far the BEST review of the new Dodge Dart GT. I especially liked the 'Comparative Power' review of other cars to that of the Dart. Definitely better than those 'Fast Lane Car' guys.
***** People need to understand that turbos are actually highly efficient devices. They utilize the pressure of escaping exhaust gases to force induction, power that is otherwise squandered into the atmosphere. That is how they can produce more power out of the same displacement, or in some cases, actually increase mileage. It all depends on how it is tuned. For some reason all us average consumer idiots seem to know about turbos is they make things go fast, but they also make things more efficient. Have you ever looked at the mileage figures on a 90's era volkswagen or audi turbo diesel? Easily 40mpg, in some cases 50. Today we swoon if a car gets anything over 30 with nearly 20 year newer technology. Almost all semi-tractors come equipped with turbos to boost up their mileage and power. If tuned properly, a turbo can give a car slightly more power while increasing gas mileage, and if designed correctly there is no reason a modest turbo with proper cooling can't last 150,000 miles, the ones in semi-tractors run for hundreds of thousands before quitting.
hzuiel You have made an excellent point. Putting a turbo on the 2.4L would give the car about 210hp and around 195lb. ft. of torque (estimations of course). But the fuel efficiency of the motor would probably pass 40mpg on the highway. Talk about a fun little car.
I have a 13 Dart Sxt with Sunroof and winter package all in all I was at 20,600 out the door brand new. Good car, just wish the gas mileage was a bit better. When I fill up I calculate miles by gallons and the most I ever got was 22.7 mpg. This is for the 2.0 tiger shark. Otherwise pretty happy with it.
man i can't decide whether to get this car or not. love the power, the looks, especially the interior. big upgrade from my '09 lancer GTS. just wish it got better mileage. i'd get it in a heartbeat if it got the same mileage as the aero package (41mpg).
Where i live, the people around love this car. Nice looking features, awesome gas mileage. But instead of knowing it as the Dodge Dart. I know it as the Baby Charger.
we have a 2014 Dart Rallye with the 2.4l in it, best car and of course our previous car was a fully Loaded 2000 Plymouth Neon LX highline and the only complaint is have at all about the Dart is that some time when you are cruising or coasting the Transmission doesn't know what to do with itself and instead of just slowly kicking down it feels like it has a small engine Brake feel but otherwise it's super peppy gets decent gas mileage and has amazing brakes "Saved us 3 times in super close calls" and we had gotten our Dart at a Red Tag event for 23,489 but also had a discount from a neighbor which brought it to around 21,446 which for what we got was wonderful and I have to agree the SXT grey wheels and a grey body makes it look aggressive. All in all I'd highly recommend over any other midsized vehicle especially due to how safe it is!
not as fast as it looks that for sure...but really good looking car and comfortable. not ment for performance minded people but cool to cruise around in. thats all i can say.
Have my Dart 7 years now, still a great car, but I have the "Lamentable" 2 litre engine which is ok, but the 2.4 would be better! gonna keep this car a long time!
I am considering the Dart, but find it to be overweight and that would help to explain the lackluster performance of the engine. The styling is spot on and the the steering sounds worthy of a test drive. Once gain the weight comes bck to haunt when one looks at fuel consumption as 21 city is nothing to be proud about. In its defense the Dart does come is with a very easy price tag, and the colors are unique.
I like the Dart a lot. I like to think it is what the Neon could have morphed into if they would have kept the nameplate. Gotta love the dig against the Caliber in the beginning. I owned a 2010 Caliber for 18 months, which I bought new, and the car isn't as bad as people make it seem. It shouldn't have been a replacement for the Neon, because it really wasn't. It's more of an SUV-type vehicle and it handles that position pretty well. Anyways, great review. Love the orange color.
I would say after owning one for 2 years and experiencing other compacts during the same time period, I'd pridefully say it was one of the best in the class.
The regular 2016 Civic will have a 1.5 liter Turbo that has about 174HP, so close to the HP (184) and torque (174) of the 2.4L Tigershark.. Dodge Dart has competition now! And will likely weigh less, since the Dart weighs about 3,050 pounds. Moving to more expensive though more efficient cars, The 2016 Prius has more HP too and will likely accelerate very quickly off the line thanks to the electric motors starting it off. Not to mention ~55-60MPG! 2016 Chevy Volt is fast too.
I love that Dodge is integrated technologies that are normally seen in their more expensive cars, into their less expensive cars. That's how it should be.
This is a lovely looking car. If only they could squeeze the same bhp figure as the 2.4 in the 2.0 whilst keeping it reliable. If they did, I reckon it'd go down pretty well in the UK!
My college car was a '63 Dodge Dart with a slant six. Much loved and crossed the continent several times. Nice to see the nameplate surviving on what appears to be a rather nice affordable sedan. I was going to say the orange color was awful until the review displayed some of the other choices. Argghhhh. In terms of cross-shopping, I suspect the Mazda3 trumps it as the review notes. The Ford Focus ST is really in another category (and price point), altogether. As is the VW GTI. Have a feeling that Dodge dealers will have some trouble enticing potential Corolla and Civic buyers to take a look but they should. Though muted, the Italian flavor adds an intangible that neither Toyota nor Honda can claim.
My question is why does this one with the 2.4 only get 30 hwy when the same engine in the sxt gets much higher and Autobytel took it on a roadtrip and was able to get over 40 hwy with it.
Great vid - still not convinced....thought I will say I thought Dodge joined Pontiac...goes to show how much I follow the US brands. US brand? This car is made by Hyundai with a frame off a Fiat??? Or did I hear you incorrectly?
"And all you heroin addicts are gonna love this!" You, sir, have won the award for best car review.
The Real Lange LMAO!!

Finally got a 2014 GT yesterday! The only things mine is missing are Blind Spot, Moonroof, Surround Sound, Nav, & the Sirius "more" setting.
Good review nice ride. They need to stick a turbo on that 2.4 then get more attention.
Sure then it'll return boeing 747 mileage... fun!

not as fast as it looks that for sure...but really good looking car and comfortable. not ment for performance minded people but cool to cruise around in. thats all i can say.
It's the King Dart. All praise the A8 KING.
Is this 2.4 the same 2.4 they have been using for years on Dodge and Chrysler base models?
Have my Dart 7 years now, still a great car, but I have the "Lamentable" 2 litre engine which is ok, but the 2.4 would be better!
gonna keep this car a long time!

Lol, one of the best reviewers on youtube, by far
another great review! love this guy.
Good reviewer with some good dialogue.
Great video! That's the car I want to get to start with. I hope that next year, I'll finally get a car.
This guy is so inappropriately enthusiastic. I like it.

I absolutely love Neon R/T and I wish Dart GT will be available in Europe as well!
Dodge does not sell cars in Europe. Give the US Peugeot and we will give you Dodge.
@@arion9696 Trust me - you don't want that pile of crap
@@Rabarbersq Jeremy Clarkson already explained that for me
Omg. I thought this guy was such a nerd at the beginning but after watching this vid, i have to say he's one cool dude. The car is nice as well
Would this work good in the snow ?
I love the language this man is using.
I think these were amazing, I wish they didn't discontinue them.
I would say after owning one for 2 years and experiencing other compacts during the same time period, I'd pridefully say it was one of the best in the class.

Im not really a fan about small 4 cylinder cars but the dart just seems like a nice car in my opinion.
***** You own a manual? coz I really need to know how is it. :)
***** That's fine. Glad you're happy with your Dart. :)
"and all you heroin addicts are gonna love this" LOL
Very entertaining review.

Tiger Shark engine... Use Bengal Tiger Growl...
AutoGuide Logic -_-
I'm impressed he can knock back a whole pint of scotch 3:58
Great review and this guy does a great job and very funny
The Dart was a fine car. I would spend my own money on it, but it was a fine car.
This guy is GREAT!
it feels weird looking at a 360p video that looks almost like 720p
This is such a solid review.
LOVED this review. Fun to watch and the jokes were great! :)
ps. have to add that Consumer reports drivers do recommend the 2.4 engine in this model..

funny intro and bloopers did no expect that
This guy is hilarious, who would have thought I'd enjoy a Dodge Dart review
"Scowling Catfish" would make a good name for a rockabilly band.
I like this car! I love the orange color! 6 Speed automatic ftw!
Liked the vid dude then i subbed keep em coming.

Yooo you knocked it out da park with the heroin addict reference exactly tha fuck what i was thinking lmao.

This color should sell well in Austin, TX and Denver, CO (maybe a Payton Manning Edition with blue pin stripes?)
This was hilarious (for a car review) this guy should b famous too lol
My question is why does this one with the 2.4 only get 30 hwy when the same engine in the sxt gets much higher and Autobytel took it on a roadtrip and was able to get over 40 hwy with it.
dodge is known to get more mpg than it is rated for
The GT has different gearing in the manual and automatic transmissions for better acceleration
Nah the Mazda3 still is the class leader. Same hp with much much better fuel economy. Love this guys reviews btw
Great vid - still not convinced....thought I will say I thought Dodge joined Pontiac...goes to show how much I follow the US brands.
US brand? This car is made by Hyundai with a frame off a Fiat??? Or did I hear you incorrectly?
Just the transmission is made by Hyundai. The car is based off of an Alfa Romeo car though.

only fiat engne in the USA* you mean
***** not a fiat engine. Its a chrysler engine I believe
Celebrate Dodge 100th car anniversary in 2014.
