Picked up my 2013 Dodge Dart 2.0 automatic January 15th 2014 a dealer demo with 150 miles on it. This car has started every time in this cold winter coldest was - 10 F. I have always owned v8 rear wheel drive cars and it didn't take me long to get used to this car. It's a great little car it has more than enough power for everyday driving with good fuel economy. This car surprised me with handling for a compact car there is no torque steer the brakes are great. I finally got a decent day to take it out on the highway and it ran very well booting it at 60 mph to pass and it was a bit surprising how fast it picked up. This car is a joy to drive on the highway at 70 mph with 400 miles on the clock I got 41 miles to the gallon. I drove the Cruz awful automatic transmission , torque steer and the electric steering sucked. The Ford Focus was better but not as good as the Dart. In Canada you cannot tow anything with the Cruz or the Focus and be covered in the warranty with the Dart you can tow 1000lbs.
Hello zack, i'm looking to by my first car i'm 19 years old and i've been looking at this car over all others because what it has to offer and the price, do you happen to know if you will be doing a review on the new dodge dart GT model i'm really trying to see the difference before i make the decision.
I just visited a Volkswagen dealership for my uncles 2012 Jetta TDI in for service and I stepped into the rental Jetta which was a 2013 Highline 2.5 auto and it had a soft touch dash and it had independent rear suspension. I asked if this was a special model and the salesman said the late models produced in 2012 and current are being made this way due to complaints.
I bought my 2013 dart limited turbo fall of 2013. I have to say I'm very pleased with it thus far. I do a lot of freeway driving and I appreciate the smooth ride and features it has. The satellite radio is a must having kids. Heated seats and mirrors for winter and sun roof for nice weather. Sound system is pretty good if you like to crank it up. Turbo has a typical lag. It's nothing fast as it's not a srt4. Fuel economy is great as I get average of 30 in town and 35 highway with my driving style and also due to the terrain I drive on. Freeway here we have several hills plus the pass I travel over frequently so that affects my mpg. When I drove on fairly flat terrain on a road trip I average 40 mpg on the highway. As of now after owning it for 7 months and 7300 miles later I have had no issues. For the price and the fact I got almost all the features offered minus push start feature I'm very pleased. No other manufacturers offered the same package with turbo and addons for the same price I bought mine at so I feel I got the most car for my money. I will say if they launch the srt4 I will definitely trade mine in for the faster model pending the features it offers. Either way I'm completely happy with my commuter car. It's fun to drive and cheap to drive which was important to me. I don't care what car you review there are always flaws to pick at. But if your after a nice cheaper commuter with a lot of features this should do the trick.
No issues other than the vent making the common squeaky noise. Guess it's a common issue and I just haven't fixed it because it doesn't do it often enough and the radio will drown it out. Mechanically it's a sound car and drives good. Have about 48k on her now and average about 1500 to 2k miles per month now. Are you considering one? Any questions?
@@Wecanbe-s6k I would highly recommend the Dart. I've had mine for over a year and it's a fantastic car. Great gas mileage as well. I only need to refill my tank once a month with daily use.
Boxster S is the best value in the Porsche line. Better brakes, bigger motor, convertible and two trunks!! I like the Boxster a lot. The problem is that Porsche fans have a snob appeal about the 911 and look at the Boxster as a lesser car, when it it is just different.
actually zack, the jetta does have rear independent suspension on comfortline 2.5/tdi, sportline, highline, gli, and hybrid models. Vw significantly updated the Jetta for 2013 such as soft touch dash board for Comfortline and up models, discs are all standard and as I said independent rear suspension! The jetta-ness is back!
Thank you for an honest car review! Looks like everyone else is doing music vids, personality vids, even trying 2 b comedic, not focusing on the car, really tired of that, thanks!
I love that dart and u know that I bought a blacked out Dodge Dart and every time I look it the Dodge Dart it reminds me of vodka aspirin Dubai asphalt 8 sound effect
The regular 2016 Civic will have a 1.5 liter Turbo that has about 174HP, so close to the HP (184) and torque (174) of the 2.4L Tigershark.. Dodge Dart has competition now! And will likely weigh less, since the Dart weighs about 3,050 pounds. Then you have the unrevealed Si model and finally the type R! Moving to more expensive though more efficient cars, The 2016 Prius has more HP too (likely about 150HP) and will likely accelerate very quickly off the line thanks to the electric motors starting it off. Not to mention ~55-60MPG! 2016 Chevy Volt is fast too (150HP fully electric acceleration).
Just sat in one of these at a dealership, it was all leather and pretty dang nice for a compact (VERY rich leather smell too, same as the new Grand Cherokee Overland we own as an example). I keep hearing how you forget you're sitting in a "compact car" with the Dart and its a very true statement.
My friend just bought a new Dart. Beautiful for the price ! Only thing I thought was weird was the driving. It's auto but literally drove like a manual car. Still nice!
I totally agree. I think it has to do with the history and mystique that the 911 has versus the not so manly looks/reputation the Boxster developed in the first few models. To be frank Before the 981 I would never have considered it as a viable purchase option solely based on its looks. I'm fairly young so I think I will pocket the cash difference and hope that my friends don't look down at my new Boxster purchase.
It could be a first year thing too. I have seen a lot people have problems with the first year thing. I got an Avenger to avoid that. I also thought the Dart was too expensive. I got a loaded Avenger SE V6 for $20,000.
Chrysler shed away their Mitsubishi and Daimler Benz past. The quality has gone up now, because they have more American involvement. That's why they have an optional lifetime warranty.
I love the way that whenever people review this car they act like someone is holding a gun to their head to do it. It's been the same with every review I've seen!
My uncle in Ancona , Marche Province Italy buys a new Alpha Romeo every year . His cars are AWESOME ! My cousin has an older Jeep diesel (not avaiable in the US) made before the give away to Fiat . He loves it and will not part with it .
The awkward moment when it goes back to the dealer for more recalls. The really awkward moment if it's two or three years old, and you can't sell because a new car can be bought for the same price.
Is he reviewing vehicles or he is just promoting them? Never heard him said one negative comment on any cars he reviewed. Wonder how much does car manufacturers paid him to be so positive!!
The Dart would've either been made here or South Korea. There more American involvement in Chrysler now than what there has been in years. The Dodge Avenger is the most American car you can buy as of now.
"the Dart is back". You know what this is?!? This is a Generation 3 Dodge Neon, but Dodge renamed it to a car common in the 1960s & 1970s, so it would fit in line with the re-introduction of the Dodge Charger & then the Dodge Challenger...
Not even close. They look totally different. Lol i see those dodge caliburs driving around my town sometimes and they're all rez bombers already. They look like crap. It's probably cause most people where i live treat their cars like shit though so i won't bash it. However my point is the dart not only looks totally different but also a lot better
That's over 600 miles. I assume his point was he spent more time with the vehicle than the average few hours that most reviewers take. Enjoy your twenty year old Toyota.
This is one car I did not like--I drove a 1.4 turbo with the dual clutch auto. I found it very balky, coarse and loud. Handling was good, but the drive train was unpleasant.
Decent looking car from outside, but interior looks ugly! It looks so outdated, uninspired and cheap! So shame that they didn't manage to transfer outer aggressive style in to interior as well....
the manual transmission cars clutch is WAAAAAYYYY to long of a throw and well.. numb as ever.. and I find it revs WAY to high, at 100kms it's reving over 3 grand +
the car is already coming apart I see what you saw lmao headache after headache with this toy lol I will wait 3 years and save 10,000 bucks and have the original owner fix all the headaches upon headaches until they run out of aspirin I will scoop it up for a song and drive it like its hot .

Just bought one. 1.4l Multi-Air Turbo w/6 Speed Manual. Saw 54 mpg at 70 mph. flat and level.Extremely Fun to Drive. GREAT VALUE for $18,000.00 U.S.
I'm going to hopefully get one for 6 grand
Dodge hit the nail on the head with the dart. Beautiful interior as well as exterior.
Not in Canada. Independent suspension only on GLI and Hybrid, as is the soft-touch dash.
Independent suspension is only available on the GLI and Hybrid. So is the soft-touch dash.
Is Dodge reliable ? Why shouldnt I go for Honda civi si ..
The 1.4 multiair engine does NOT have direct injection. Multiair just stands for variable valve lift and timing on the intake side only.

Me and my husband just brought the same car and we love it.
do you still love it 9 months later? I'm looking at buying this for my first car.

@@ridgedog2317 damn thanks for the answer. I ended up buying an 07 stang instead. Hope all is well with the dart tho
@@ridgedog2317 crazy I’m on my third car now and guess what it is… a 2013 dodge dart 😂 life comes around full circle
Man I love signature tail light look, very original, not so much the front. This car the potential to look very cool.
YES!! I feel like car lovers can make better cars than the manufacturers

This car looks so evil
This is the car that bat girl would go to shopping
The Lexus GS has a 12.3" display which is the biggest display outside of a Model S (which I believe is 17").

Anybody realise the song at 0:01 is from a kid steals car video
Zach can you please review the 2013 toyota venza? No one on youtube has done a proper review

130,000 on mine. It runs.
Thanks

Which one would be more fun to drive, the 2.4L Tigershark Dart GT or a 3.6L Pentastar Avenger SXT Plus?
Thinking of grabbing one of these used for a winter beater. Worth it? Any idea what they would go for these days?

What would you pick Zack? a 911 cabrio or save 30 000 and buy the 981 Boxster S? Which car do you think looks better of those two?
yep, ive got a 2013 jetta 2.0l and there is no soft dash.....or independent suspension
excellent as always Zach. Have you relocated to Ontario?
I want this car but what about reliability
I know this is a relatively old post; but it looked like you edited the engine noise out of every shot that would've shown that off.
My friend just bought a new Dart. Beautiful for the price ! Only thing I thought was weird was the driving. It's auto but literally drove like a manual car. Still nice!
Theres a 2013 model in my area for cheap hmm. My 2002 explorer gets in the mechanic shop all too often.
Very explanation and review of the Dart. I love mine and it is surely fun to drive.
So what it looks like a Neon? its a Dodge right???
4:35 I hope this was a pre-series too, look at the panel around the door in the bottom-left corner of the screen... not so nice on a brand new car.

The FIAT VIAGGIO is the original one, I like that one much better specially the lights in the back, This one was adapted to make look like a Chrysler.
But I live in Canada! That dealership was in Calgary I saw it with my own eyes!
They have a shared owner ship. Mr Canadian
I like how you test in Shaughnessy, Van. It adds a nice touch of class!

good review! well researched and carefully organized.
.. Alfa, or were you quoting someone?.. o.O
Need to make a Demon dart like in the 71,72 Darts.
If you look on kbb they have not made Alfa Romeo since 1995
Alfa Romeo still makes new cars ouutside of the US

I got to drive one today i loved it it kind of reminded me of the 03 dodge intrepid that I used to have
The awkward moment when it goes back to the dealer for more recalls. The really awkward moment if it's two or three years old, and you can't sell because a new car can be bought for the same price.
Great review ! Just subscribed .
Great review!
LOOKS GREAT
No, just Ontario plates
I did the math and it should be 41.5 miles per gallon or so during the 6:25 time.
A rather nice car, would like to see it in Europe.
Didnt know that. Just took a look of it. I dont like the changes they've made to it.. This one looks better.
Nice jacket Marty Mcfly

I wish Dodge would kill the cross-hair grill already, while other makes try on new grills every 5 or so years yet Dodge clings to this tired look.
***** i think it looks good on this car especially if the grill is red on a red one

Kinda similar to the new Mitsubishi lancer, mostly the front-end looks of the car.
the awkward moment when that soon will change.
I think he meant, that the inside has just as many options. xD
You can get the V6 in an SE. About the only difference between the two is appearance.
Y’all be hating on the dart. This car is fuckin lit. Y’all just wanna be followers and get challengers and chargers like the rest of the world 🤦🏾♂️
I have that model and I’m going to trade it in for a challenger🥺goodbye dart😢
LOL he has driven it for 1000 KM and that is long term? 1993 Toyota Corolla with over 200k miles and it still gets 27 mpg city.
'cause that's how we roll in Canada.
