I liked how the dude used the Masa Demo as the basis for the music in the demo. It made sense cause that's how it was done back then if you made the game for both Genesis and SNES. The composer made the demo and maybe get involved with porting it to the consoles.
I honestly really like the lighter background, it gives the area more depth in my opinion. And Sonic's blue fur being darker looks absolutely better than the original.
This is probably the best adaptation of this iconic theme to the SNES. It retains the overall sound of the Mega Drive/Genesis version, since let's face it, it just won't sound right otherwise, but also takes advantage of the S-DSP's capabilities to enhance the music with richer chords that are closer to Nakamura's demo version. A stellar job. :>
This song is a beauty. If only they added the goal ring, the goal sign that you go past at the end of the stage and the eggman boss battle. Also the rest of the worlds id like to see :)

Sonic 1 and 2 - great times! I played the sh*t out of them in early 90s! They are still the best Sonic games! Cool SNES version of the tune btw!

how close to the original is this?
This uses the same Soundfont. Its the original, just using the SNES soundchip instead of the Yamaha the Genesis uses.
