You are correct on all points. I am selling original paintings on Etsy but only small miniature paintings. Two reasons: painting price is lower and shipping is under $6.00.
Thanks for the focus on art. I've been selling digital wall art on Etsy for 1 1/2 years. I have about 200 sales and I've learned a few things. Hundreds of people favorite my art but they don't always buy, even at the ridiculously low price of $6.75. Why? Because they don't "need" it. Recently I've added some clip art collections to my shop and they are flying off the shelf because people have more of a use for it. The wall art still sells but the clip art is carrying my store. I don't mind because I can do both.
This was very helpful. I've been learning slowly how to get my art moving a bit more at my shop (Adam Kenney Art), but I do need to improve my images from mockups to better and more representative images. Thanks.
