Thanks fior the vid! I was immediately inspired. I went to Costco and then Walmart across the street and determined that 3 lb. chubs of turkey meet at Walmart was way cheaper. I had some old blueberries from last year in my freezer, as well as homegrown pumpkin puree, so you betcha it was a good way to clean out my little chest freezer. I cooked the meat on high pressure for 15 minutes and it was well cooked, so I might try for even less time next time. I then put the sweet potatoes and rice in for 15 minutes, did a quick release and added the rest of the veggies including some "fresh" bok choy that had been languishing in the fridge for over a week. I got a burn error after awhile, so I just turned the pot off. All I cared abouut was the meat, sweet potatoes and rice being cooked, and they were. I through the turkey meat and choped up beef liver back into the Instant Pot after it was turned off and the entire recipe was just fine in the 8 qt pot. I'm letting it cool off a little before Sailor gets a taste and I put it in a container in the fridge. I didn't put in green beans, but did spinach and peas, and they are cooked enough, although looking whole, which is actually okay by me. Sailor just this year started putting on weight because of age, and he's been barfing up rgw Costco./Kirkland senior food that I started feeding him this year, so hopefully this will be the ticket instead.

You can give your dog a whole egg and they’ll take and it it slowly and thoroughly. The acids in their stomach immediately dissolve the egg shells and provide really good nutrients for your dog.

All these people asking questions with no answers. We would like to know how long does this even last ? It looks like you’ll have to make this meal every two-three days. And how much money would this be a week ?

I'm confused, I read that brown rice isn't good for dogs. With all the contradictions, it makes it hard to know what is good and not.

Jacqueline San Nicolas If it is cooked right it is okay for dogs. Some grains contain gluten that may cause digestive problems for certain dogs. Many dogs do fine with grains, and they can be used to reduce the overall cost of feeding a homemade diet.
Grains and starchy veggies should make up no more than half the diet. As long as they have a good variety of veggies meats fruits etc it’s okay to feed them brown rice, well cooked.

Ugh! I know what you mean. I have 2 PittieX's, a ChiX & a Maltese & I home cook for them. I incl br rice w my recipe but was just told by an arm chair, yet very thorough, food researcher that brown rice has arsenic in it. What the what???It scared the s*** outta me. But like you, i dont know what to believe. But, i just read about Muenster Milling Co's CEO actually ate his own dog food for a month to prove it's safe & he said he's even healthier now than before...and his coat is shinier. ;) I'm switching from cooking daily for my dogs due to new job & lack of xtra time. I'm giving this company a try. They also help to build shelters & are super active in rescue which i love to support. We shall see. Good luck to you too!

@@danalala8328 Just wondering. So if brown rice has arsenic in it and its bad for dogs, wouldn't that be twice as bad for human consumption? Arsenic is found in the ground we walk on every day but in small amounts, If we really looked into everything they use to make our products today you would never want to eat again, I have raised Macaws now for over 20 years and you will hear how Teflon kills birds and galvinzied wire cages and many other things but it also has a lot to do with other factors(ex does your bird chew his cage or do you burn Teflon pans everyday in your kitchen) you see what I am getting at. Arsenic is used for bug removal around here (Louisiana) in the rice fields but the product is cleaned thoroughly before human consumption. When dogs have upset stomachs and you bring them to the vet they tell you to put them on a rice and chicken diet and keep it very bland and yes they get rid of the bugs the same way with the white rice lol. This was not a comment towards you but you always here people saying this is bad and that is bad but look at the dogs foods that are out there , they are horrible.

@@secureman40 Hey there secure man. So, thanks for putting so much thought and good info out there. I re-read my comment since it's been a minute since I wrote it and although inflection can be difficult to interpret with text, I was commenting that I read that about brown rice and that I was incredulous with the suggestion. I never stated that I agreed with that info. Keep up all your great work with our amazing feathered friends. Stay well. ✌

How many calories per serving? Do you have a homemade dog food recipe for weight gain?? We have an extremely picky husky that we rescued her extremely malnourished. We’ve tried multiple different brands and flavors of kibble but no luck. We tried your treats for pregnant dogs and she loves them. (She’s not pregnant). Next we will be trying your weight gain dog food treats. But since she’s not eating much of her regular food, I’m hoping you have a complete nutrition homemade recipe I can replace or even try mixing her kibble with. Thank you

Grain free is dangerous....dogs are getting too much protein and the vets are seeing an explosion in cardiomyopathy (weak heart)....usually chicken and corn are the top allergens in dogs...try sweet potato and quinoa or oatmeal.

They need 1 cup homemade food 😢for each 10 pounds of body weight. 2 cups a day for a 70 lb dog is way under feeding and the dog will be under weight and have malnutrition. Basically starving the poor thing slowly.

So I have 3 dogs. One is 90lbs = 9 cups of food. One is 80lbs = 8 cups of food. One is 50lbs = 5cups. So 22 cups of food per day??? Who can afford that? I can’t be in the kitchen that long either! Holy cow!
