This game is your bread and butter, it's always fun to watch new playthroughs. Each one ends up being a different experience.
These episodes have brought the spark back for me to play this game. Great videos mate.
I wish I played the game today than 2 years ago. I just hated every update the devs came out. It ruined the game for me but I feel if I played it in its current form I might not. I just want them to leave the damn game alone already and work on 3 already. Them giving attention to SOD2 is the reason I feel SOD3 has been delayed 2 years already.
In episode 1 of your "How to beat State of Decay 2 on Lethal difficulty" you spoke a little about trade value on items and you didn't know if it did matter if you sold stuff to a neutral enclave, friendly enclave, or allied enclave. So I tested it our for you since I knew there was a difference in sell value of trade items between the different alternatives.
All of this is tested on map with "full Nightmare difficulty" (all 3 sliders are on nightmare)
So inn conclusion if you want to sell stuff it doesn't matter if it's a trader, friendly enclave, or allied enclave. They all pay you the same amount for your stuff.
And if you sell to a neutral enclave then you receive less influence compared to the other three options.
If you want to buy stuff however then you get cheaper prices buying from an allied enclave. Buying stuff from traders, or friendly enclaves is more expensive.
Allied enclave:
3 Bottles of strong painkillers = 102 influence
1 Bag of microwave popcorn = 34 influence
Trumbull trader (friendly): Just a normal trader that popped up for me. Same sell value on stuff as with an allied enclave.
3 Bottles of strong painkillers = 102 influence
1 Bag of microwave popcorn = 34 influence
Neutral enclave (Rumrunners):
3 Bottles of strong painkillers = 75 influence
1 Bag of microwave popcorn = 25 influence
Friendly enclave (Rumrunners): I did the first mission for the "booze enclave" so that they turned friendly.
Same sell value on stuff as with an allied enclave or a random trader that appears on the map.
3 Bottles of strong painkillers = 102 influence
1 Bag of microwave popcorn = 34 influence
Neutral enclave: A neutral enclave (nightmare difficulty) that was on the map when I started it. I discovered them when I drove around and scouted the map.
3 Bottles of strong painkillers = 75 influence
1 Bag of microwave popcorn = 25 influence
So, I can't help but notice we're on Cascade hills. Does that mean we are going to see Brian move into his favorite base, the Corner Office, this playthrough? Isn't it practically tradition at this point? I mean, it's not shooting dogs tradition, but it's a tradition right?
Hell no 🤣 I mean it’s not as bad as it once was but it’s not good for a guide lol
@@BrianMenard I so remember the animal cruelty
What’s wrong with the corner office?
@@5hrimp_Nachosthe defenses are poor and it gets your AI community members killed easily. probably the worst base defenses in the game cause of the tight hallways
@@danielchapa3935 oh. I don’t remember much about it. I think I was only there once and I don’t think I stayed very long. Thanks for the info
First of all thank you for everything, when i see you playing SOD2 it just makes me feel better
After i watched first part i started an lethal run as you same map,
In the base you had an screamer, but i got screamer bloater and ferral. I think this game hates everyone whos watching youre videos 😂😂
And for some reason i get a bunch of ferals around me in this playthrough
BTW I'm that guy who jump on top of the car to deal with hordes and ferals😂
Love your videos and loving this series. Currently running my first Nightmare community and practicing your lethal tactics when taking out plague hearts.
I am one of THOSE people. Lots of running on top of my car. 😂
I'm a car roofer! Just to gather my wits if I'm injured or such and get ready for a fight.
Thank you Brian, I’m hesitant on tryin lethal but it’s entertaining to watch
Just do it. Pick 3 new people, don't bring a legacy cat. Play careful, play slow. When in doubt run vs fight. If you are failing, that is part of the movie, that is the action and drama, the suspense and the wonder. If you fail, pick 3 new people and a new map.
@@penname8380 I’ll give it a try lol, thank you! Appreciate the feedback
Just do it =D
It's great! 😁👍 I'm light years away from Lethal and probably will never play it (it's just not my cup of tea) but I love watching you. My play style is also sistematic and stealthy and patient so your videos are just in the zone for me 😎
Great job! 🔥🧟♂️🔥🧟♀️🔥🧟🔥
1:14:30 I had this exact thing happen to me :D it was so silly, I heard a jugg and panicked and flipped my car and had to ditch it and then get out of plague territory with like 10 hp, no meds, on foot. thank god for maxed marathon lol.
this game is so good with moments like these. you make a mistake and things go really bad really fast. and get worse even faster xd
One of my tips: if I told you that you could have an allied enclave with better sell prices, up to 3 candidates for a recruit, and possibly a good ally bonus for 75 influence, most people would jump at the offer. If an ally wants materials or food or ammo that I don’t want to part with, I “find resources” for the rucksack, go pick it up, and drop it off. I only do this if the enclave is already friendly. Then they’re “guaranteed” to ally with you. Either way, you get 100 influence, so you make a 25 influence profit. There’s risk in going to pick up a ruck sack, but there’s risk in everything. :)
This series is so fun to watch! I'm just getting back into the game after a long break and somehow found your channel and this is one of the most enjoyable to watch video series of any game. I love seeing people play through games at a more advanced level and explain their thought process. What a cool game too! Seems like its come a long way since launch.
best state of decay guide out here, very in depth and honest. can tell you are good
Daybreak.....call in Prestige trader and spend your daybreak points on bombs etc. Gives you nice edge on lethal when resources are hard to find at the beginning.
your SOD2 vids are so dope, I remember I started playing the game and after a while Lethal zone because of you back in the day, watching now with all those new outpost and infestation and plague heart shenanigans updates makes me want to play again lol hope the next episode launches soon haha
Love your attitude with this playstyle and gamemode. Never saw the appeal of lethal before, but I think i might give it a try
28:56 LOL I feel that. Sometimes Lily just doesn't care LOL. She talks in her sleep.
You play smart, you play slow, you play perfect. Everytime I got cocky on lethal they killed me.
Furthermore: Time to install my favorite Zombiegame and play again!
Bro's most healthy gamer ever seen, easily one of the best RUclipsrs ever
LOL great guide series, but best part of this episode was the Survey Car going up in flames! That’s SOD2; everything is fine until it’s not.
Hi Brian. We need the next episode man. My survivors are not surviving without your tips man
I am happy to have found your channel through this informative series, keep it up! Love your sod2 content, mate!
It actually says how many hearts affected in the zone now, it says threats when you look on a heart in the map.
You know Brian, in one episode of The Walking Dead we watched Lori completely flip her car and nearly get eaten by a walker and were like, "How did that happen?" Well now we know... Now we know Chat. :D That cracked me up so much. Thank you for this entertainment on a dull work day. LOL
Lethal puts a good strategy perspective to the game. Thanks for the baby steps I'm playing along with you. PS. Didn't find a crossbow until just now that I killed the first plague Hart.
thanks for these guides sir, I really appreciate your time and effort into doing these!
Glad you like them!
You are the GOAT! Good to see you mate. Hello from Hungary
I climbed to the top of my van this morning to kill a plague heart feral in Terror difficulty and I felt smart and powerful. :D
Watching while doing office work.. man i love this game. Thanks! Watching from Philippines!
i was like that with the car, every time i hear a feral and i was on the top of the car and once a juggy knock the hell out of this habit for me
Yea I destroyed all the plauge hearts on lethal, just upset I lost my X3 cross bow, and I can't find my survivor that die and turned... I can't stand the blood feral. I think my next run nightmare mode with curve balls. When I want another intense play through I'll do lethal zone.
Just had a weird thought, let me get it out before you pass judgment. I think Brian might actually be the bad guy.
I've been watching his videos for a long time now and Brian is the leader of the boot gang. BOOT GANG!
That said, what is a boot but a technological improvement of the foot itself.
-The Foot Clan were the minions of Master Shredder.
-Master Shredder was the mortal enemy of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
-Brian is the mortal enemy of a race of giant green abnormally thick-skinned immortal mutants with sub-adult intelligence, non-functional genitalia and a penchant for using melee weapons even in gunfights in several of his playthroughs on this channel.
-If Brian is the bad guy, I was wondering if he should be Master Slap-Chop or Master Food-Processor. I offer those two as we're the Boot Gang, BOOT GANG!, so he needs to be the more advanced version of Master Shredder.
Drop a reply if my logic is off.
Drop a comment on which nom de guerre we need to start calling Brian in his war on the non-adult, post-human, melee fighting amphibious sewer dwellers.
I think Master Slap-Chop will make sense😂
🤫…………… Or Else 🤣🤣
Think of the Brian Menard method for Lethal Zone as Splinter Cell - Zombies
I love this series so much.
Great video. Educational, as always!
I never play the game and I enjoy watching you. You make it look fun I will try the game later today. Wish you happiness.
you could've just used the unstuck command for your car instead of letting the jug hit it. would've been the smarter option. also you will know if any plague hearts overlap if you over your mouse over one to highlight it, and it highlights 2 others or whatever
I only use that command if the game does something crazy and messes up things but if it was something stupid I did I live with it. That command to me is to only fix the game when something bugs out
I dont jump on cars for a single feral, but for multiple ... hell yeah. Feral packs are still my biggest problem in lethal zone. If they get me in a field Im toast, but I never get the right tools out in time anyway
Thank you for the part 2 on the series. I've been educated and entertained by this content.
Cheers
I got Black Heart on day 3.
Should I rush it ASAP? or just leave it till my chars get strong?
Here i am busy collecting all weapon type and series 😁👍
Michael Jackson cameo at 43:16
How to deal if you loose when one character cause feral 1 shot and hard to ddeal with
When's the next episode I'm waiting patiently :D
Am I the only one playing this game with the music off? Way too scary. :D
Do plague hearts heal after damaging them and disengaging?
You've clearly mastered your method. So much so, that your play through on Lethal, looks like Normal. Well thought out and well executed. Impressive. Have you ever completed Lethal a different way, such as, guns blazing? Just curious.
I actually have more fun watching you than playing myself :-)
I'd 100% buy that Timberwolf. And I'd have done the Eagle Eye mission earlier, so I'd be on the way toward having TWO .50 cal weapons. They're the best option for base defense, and they're great for taking down Juggerbutts when you don't have a Sniper Tower yet. I mean... you have 1800 influence. What on Earth are you saving it for? I see people on reddit say that they're "too loud" for base defense, but that has not in any way been my experience. Who cares how loud they are if everybody back home has one? They'll tear through anything that attacks the base, be it feral, armored, human, or juggy.
🦗
Which trader has the repeating cross bow, I normally get it from a mission
What is the Image in the thumbnail? thatd be a cool wallpaper
I have super bad luck my first playthrough on lethal i got curveball of black heart plague without proper gear and this black heart as miasma that eating gas walking and sneaking is hard in the lethal difficulty
Well I restart the map again to remove that curveball
I started taking plague hearts put with melee originally until I found out that a brake and a .22 could take one put in about 35-40 shots
Im assuming they're much harder on lethal, tbh im not entirely sure how you used melee to take one out in lethal
bag of meds in the bathroom, bruh i havent even found a single item in these restrooms
This is my Lethal life phase;
~ Do I try and find [Item] at point A?
~ Do I see if I can buy [Item] at point B?
~ Do I just go get the Item at Base?
imagine just wanting to explore the map on lethal LOL youll wake up everything LOL
@Brian I have not yet received a single curveball. Is this something I should activate ?
It suppose to take 2 days in game as long as you have completed the curveball tutorial once idk why mine started right away
also when a horde is near be ducked its much safer
Hmm
I keep the red talon suv as my car. Idk im my game is glitch but i cant never ever jump on top of it. I use 2 do it tho b4 i started using that car.(jump up from feral packs) now i use heavy weapons on em
Nice playthrough and some good tips. I'm curious, esp considering your playstyle of resource maximisation, why you don't use all your outpost slots as early as you can (so you're generating resources). There's a small drop in your available influence but isn't the cost/benefit worth it?
I turn off curveballs every time 😅
1:02:14 the gun in the middle with the star on it, it has more power than the other gun u bought and the same mag size. is there something wrong with the gun for u not to buy it?
I believe it's because you can't put a suppressor on that gun, there is no muzzle attachment and it doesn't have integral suppression that some few guns have, hence it's "loud" and not very stealthy.
@@Mr_NW9 i see 🫣
Yeah that gun has a built in muzzle brake and cannot be suppressed which makes it not that good for lethal zone.
@@BrianMenard true, i havent tried even full nightmare mode yet
can i not go on the default map on lethal difficultly or not?
@ brian Menard just wondering if your gona touch on sending someone to legacy pool I'm almost done my first ever community and I wanna keep them
Questions. You always play lethal. Are the crazy update changes only for lethal mode? Also, is there a way to tweak difficulty settings to make it like a traditional zombie survival? IE. Low quality, infrequent loot and none of all this nuttiness so there's time to chill and manage inventory vs. constantly panicking? Lol. How about a way to side-by-side compare weapons to know which one's better? Can you switch cars with a partner (npc) and have them drive the old one home?
Curveballs are available for all difficulties, all the way from Green to Lethal.
There is a custom difficulty slider which lets you manage difficulty of three factors; Combat, Community, and Map. Try tinckering around with it to see what suits you.
To compare stats of two weapons, simply equip one weapon in the slot, and hover over the other. The weapon stat display will have green or red boxes in the stats showing what stat's better and what's worse.
Unfortunately, no way to have NPCS drive vehicles home yet.
When is part 3 coming? 😁
That 1st red talon mission u got aint hard at all.. its a fetch and keep mission with a echo gun in it. Find a servey point and go get a cleo drop. (Mystery broadcast with male machine voice).. i drop what im doin 4 those early game. 1st one u get the 556. 2nd u get 9mmsmg. 3rd u get shotgun(quite one)
Every time I do that red talon mission it’s across the map and I have to kill a plague heart
@@BrianMenard I promise it's different since last update. That's how they gave us the new hats
@@BrianMenard they say details pending and it's a cleo drop
@@JesusChrist-ck2sf yeah I just did it today in episode 4 they are new missions for sure never seen them before
@@BrianMenard cool. Figured it would help ur new players
I do that all the time XDDDDD
It's not possible to cheat in a single player game. Just have fun.
What are your thoughts on using Red Talon facilities? I'm somewhat working in the same vein as this vid you're doing right now, except i called in for an RT Workshop, Watchtower, and Officers Quarters
They are awesome, that's the general consensus in the community xD. There's just no downsides for having them really. The only reason I think guides don't go over them is because you need to play Daybreak to get them, and not everyone's a fan of the gamemode. But yeah, go for it!
They are AMAZING I will talk about them in my upcoming episode I am recording I’m just not using them because I want the guide to be for people who can’t afford to buy them.
Just found your channel, love your stuff!
I’m hearing words like PCCs/PCIs, defilade, etc. 🤘🫡
Sub.
Thank you so much. Yeah I served for 13 years and the jargon has just become a part of me lol
@@BrianMenard hell yea man, I figured as much haha. thanks for all you do!
